Pinellas Park Ring Lost, Recovered By SRARC

Amy was riding through her neighborhood with friends on a golf cart. She reached out quickly to point at something, and felt the ring fly off her finger. Amy’s husband, Corey, used a metal detector to search the grassy easement next to the road without success. They learned about SRARC and Ringfinders through friends, and were soon in touch with Joe Szemer. Bill Gallant and Mike Shuler responded to the site, and after about 20 minutes a happy and emotional Amy was holding her ring again!

Wedding Band Recovered In Pinellas Park

Mike Shuler met Leland at his home in Pinellas Park to search for the 14K wedding band he lost 2 months earlier. Leland was fairly sure the ring was in a sodded area approximately 15 feet square. After combing the area and finding only trash for 90 minutes, Mike went to Leland’s door to make his apologies. He told Leland that after he left the gated complex, he would make a pass through the hedges on the other side of the fence that abutted the sod. After pushing through the hedges and finding nothing, Mike was headed to his car when he got the hit that was the ring!

COAST TO COAST HELPING HAND LEADS TO LOST RING RETURN

Rajesh was at a friend’s apartment complex in Oldsmar, FL playing volleyball when he felt his ring come off his finger during a serve. He and his friends looked in the sand where they thought it had landed for a long time and finally gave up. Rajesh googled lost ring and found The Ring Finders web page where he then contact Southern California Ring Finder member Steve Smith who was clearly way too far from Tampa, Florida to search. Steve’s quick thinking had him look up a more local hunter and he in turn passed Rajesh on to SRARC and Ring Finder member Stan Flack. Stan then contacted the nearest SRARC team member Howard Metz to help Rajesh in Oldsmar. It was already too late in the day so the two decided to meet the next day right after lunch. After getting a few more details of the events, Howard went right to work and within 10 minutes, a very relieved Rajesh was reunited with his ring. Hugs and smiles all the way around. Good work Howard and a shout out to Steve Smith for passing Rajesh along to us so we could reunite him with his cherished ring. Nice work everyone, that’s what it’s all about.

Signet Ring Lost, Found, and Returned in Tampa, Florida

Randy went down to a neighborhood pond to see if he could cast net some bait for a fishing trip. He got all setup to throw his first cast, let it go and heard a thump as the net flew through the air. He checked his finger for the gold signet ring his grandmother had given to him just before she passed away. His worst fear was verified when he saw it was no longer on his finger. He spent the next several hours looking in the grass around the area and finally decided it must have gone into the water. After googling for metal detector rental he found SRARC and contacted Mike Miller. Mike scheduled a hunt for the next day and Mark Sillence and Randy met him at the location at 10:30 am. Mark was geared up for the water so he started hunting there and Mike started to cover the bank above the water. In about 15 minutes Mike got a good signal, looked down, and there it was in plain sight. Randy was overjoyed and grinning ear to ear. SRARC is always happy to put a cherished ring back on its owner’s finger.

Keepsake bracelet lost off dock then found and returned in Largo, Florida

Michelle was out at her families boat dock on a hot July night with friends when she decided to go for a swim. Michelle, took off her silver bracelet her dad had given her as a keepsake and gave it to her friend for safe keeping. The friend then put the bracelet in her pocket and sat on the dock while Michelle swam. At some point the friend pulled her cell phone out of her pocket and the watched the bracelet come out of her pocket and slip through a small crack in the dock. Michelle was devastated in loosing such a cherished bracelet. Miserable over the loss, Michelle went to the internet for help and finding SRARC on the ring finders web page. She in turn called Tom Jones who passed the information on to member Stan Flack. With fading sun light and Michelle leaving town the next day, Stan made his way to the home and geared up to give it a go. After digging several targets and a wrestling match with dock light cable, Stan got a clear signal. Three or four scoops later, the bracelet found its way into his scoop. Cheers and a genuine happy dance from Michelle ensued and Michelle was reunited with her bracelet vowing to NEVER take it off again. Great recovery Stan, thanks for all you do to keep the smiles coming.

Precious Pendant Lost Found and Returned in Oldsmar, Florida

Nancy’s daughter was getting out of a car on a visit to Nancy’s home when her pendant chain broke.  She was able to catch the chain while watching the pendant fall into the thick plush grass and disappear. The family searched the area but could not find it.   Nancy contacted Mike Miller at SRARC and asked if they could help. Mike contacted Howard Metts to conduct a search.  The search area was a very small plot of thick grass between the sidewalk and the curb in front of the house.  After about 15 minutes Howard got a signal with his detector and was able to use his pin pointer to coax the pendant out of the thick grass.  Nancy said her daughter will be very happy to see the pendant again.  This is Howards second return this year and its only January! Nice work Howard and we are all happy to see the smile on Nancy’s face.

Dunedin Gold Ring Found in Post Hole Pile and Returned by SRARC

Jill Cicero was having a new fence installed in the backyard of her new Dunedin home with her father supervising the installation of the posts.  Her father noticed his gold ring was missing halfway through the job and stopped all work asking his daughter to find someone to help find the ring.  Jill found our club SRARC on The Ring Finders and contacted Tom Jones who called Howard Metts, a member that lives in Dunedin.  Howard went out late that afternoon and after 45 minutes of searching with his detector had no luck.  Switching to a pin pointer Howard searched the dug post holes  and at the second post hole found the ring in a pile of soil between the post and fence.  Howard contacted Jill who was coming home from work and informed her of the find.  Jill and her father were very happy to see the ring again.  What a way to start the new year.

Nice recovery Howard, nice to se the smile in Jill’s face.
