  • from Indiana (Pennsylvania, United States)

Lost your ring, other valuable jewelry, cellphone, keys, or other metal object…call or text Brian Carpenter at (814)244-2300 as soon as possible. I am a ring recovery and metal detecting specialist serving Pittsburgh, Indiana (PA), and most of Western PA. Why rent a metal detector when you can get a trained operator with top of the line equipment at the same time…I am also pleased to announce I am beginning to search for lost rings in vehicles!!

Who says there is never a ring finder around when you need one??? LOL. I was driving home and I live close to a golf course so as I was passing by I saw a friend’s car and pulled in to say hello. It looked like he and a few other people were looking for something…low and behold – a lost ring. He started laughing and said your ears must have been burning. I got out chatted for a few but I did not have my equipment and the person who lost the ring was not there. I told my buddy – I will be back to find it in the morning.

So the next morning I went back and met with Dean. He was taking his jacket off and his ring got caught in the sleeve and flew off. He was in a parking spot right next to the driving range and the ring was somewhere in the grass. I immediately got to work. After about 45 minutes I located the ring. I dont always have the opportunity to do it but I measured…the ring flew 18 feet away from where he was when he lost it.

Dean was very happy to have his ring back and I was glad to have been able to help!

About a year ago, Steve was brushing his hands on his porch one morning in Margate, NJ. Then suddenly, his lost wedding band rolled off the deck into the bushes and garden below. He and the landscaping crew searched with no avail. Steve saw that I help find lost rings and gave me a call. We met, and he demonstrated what had happened a year ago, and I got in there with the metal detector. I got a signal about four inches down, and it was the ring!

Gold and Diamond Earring Lost, Recovered and Returned in Wayne, PA!!!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Lesley contacted me through the Ring Finders directory after losing  an extremely sentimental gold and diamond earring the day before. She was heartbroken with the loss and determined to find it! When I arrived at her home the next day she explained after a detailed investigation(involving her Ring doorbell camera!) that her valuable earring either fell off in her or her neighbors yard…the local convenience store (Wawa) or the bank. She went to the wawa and bank and looked and asked if anyone found…then went home and printed lost and found signs to post as well. She also purchased a metal detector online to begin searching hers and her neighbors yard. That’s when someone told her about the Ring Finders directory and hence the call to me! When I got there she had the other earring and I was able to calibrate my machine to it. It rang up a strong 12-13 on  my Minelab Equinox Metal Detector….so that was the signal I was looking for! She first took me to the neighbors yard where she stopped to play with there dog …there was a crazy amount of newly fallen leaves in a grassy area around a large magnolia tree. Lesley thought the earring most likely came off while she was playing with the dog…well…she was right! after a 10 minute search…BOOM….sure enough I got a strong 12-13 signal on my machine! With Lesley standing next to me…I spread the deep leaves apart…and behold her beautiful large gold diamond earring! Not sure I have ever seen anyone so emotional as Lesley at that moment…the joy and relief! I was so happy to be able to come through for her!

I received a call from a nice gentleman asking if I could help find an FOB key he accidentally lost down a hillside while swatting off the balcony rail. No big deal I said as I am still agile like a young buck, We chuckled then scheduled a time to meet later…

I arrived promptly with my metal detector as usual. The hillside was steep and brushes were thick,,,But luck wasn’t thin,,Just after 10-15min carefully scanning through I was able to locate it buried at the edge before the slope drops off. Definitely made Brian’s day as these smart keys are not cheap.

Lost ring in yard, Knoxville, TN

  • from Knoxville (Tennessee, United States)

I was contacted by Wally to search his yard for a lost ring. Wally has had this ring on for 43 years and never taken it off for any extended period of time. He was in the yard mowing the day he lost it and didn’t notice until he went into the house and his ring was missing. I conducted my search with overlapping searches of his entire front and backyard. The search lasted about three hours and no luck. I was having difficulties around the driveway and sidewalks due to the rebar. Also there was lots of leaves that have fallen making the visual search even harder. I came back the next day determined to find the ring but this time I brought my leaf blower. My thoughts were it could be on the driveway but because of all those leaves I wouldn’t be able to see it. I cranked up the blower and let it idle while I gently blew the leaves away from the driveway. About 10 minutes into my second search i found the ring just off the sidewalk in the mulch of the garden. What luck it was to see it.

Lost Gold Heirloom Ring…Recovered in Danville, CA

  • from Walnut Creek (California, United States)

Bay Area Ring Finders: Brendon Chapman… Metal Detecting Service/Call ASAP     925-580-2590

I was contacted by Andrea and her family in Danville, CA.  Her father was wearing his fathers gold heirloom ring while performing work on a sump pump at their home.  Later that evening it was realized that the rather large ring was missing and over the next few days they would search high and low for the ring.  They had even purchased a metal detector to aid in their search.

Their best search they performed was online for help when they stumbled upon THERINGFINDERS.COM website.  My information was found and they contacted me on Wednesday.  After a brief conversation about their situation, I agreed to come have a look the next afternoon.

We searched a few possible locations including the pump house area, the backyard, and a few places within the home.  The ring had not been found and as a last ditch effort we decided to search the family vehicles he had driven that day.  The first two vehicles produced no new results, but when Andrea opened the car door for the third and final vehicle, she immediately recognized the ring resting between the seat and the door right below the seat adjustment controls.  We had made the recovery!!!

You could tell that this ring was extremely important to the family, a connection to their families past and a reminder of the man who once wore the ring.  I was glad to play even the smallest of parts extending the story behind the item and assisting a kind and appreciative family!

A happy client with his fathers heirloom gold ring!

A rather large gold heirloom ring that once belonged to his father.

How to find a Manhole Cover – Russell, Bay of Islands.

  • from Paihia (New Zealand)

Had a call from Gary – He’d lost a manhole cover!
A big, heavy, cast iron manhole cover… put down over a water bore in the early 1990’s.

Now normally a manhole is an easy target, except this one wasn’t where it was supposed to be.
Going off the 30 year old recollections of the previous caretaker who was present at the installation showed that memory can be a fickle thing especially with the passage of time.

As more memories came in, the story about the location became confused and strewn with ‘red herrings’. Was the manhole even still there, or had it been replaced with wood, or had the plastic bore casing and alkathene been sealed and backfilled with no metallic targets to find?
Consulting old aerial photos online , and even the Regional Council borehole database didn’t help improve the odds of refining the actual, or even general location given the database showed it was out in the adjacent estuary.

With the bore stated as being “60cm below surface”, the orchard started to show the effect of false, but promising targets.

An old fencing stake buried vertically below the surface was chased downwards in the hope it was marking the bore (that was a big hole!), and even a spoon made an appearance in another hole as I hunted for a potential deep brass, copper or galvanised fitting.

As the final remaining pockets of grass among the trees were cleared, the detector – set for maximum sensitivity for a deep target, suddenly overloaded the headphones – and there, just under the grass was the edge of a manhole cover.

Fortunately only 6cm down, and not 60…

A significant expense to drill a new bore had been avoided.

Diamond Ring Lost Throwing Leaves Off Balcony.. Found with Metal Detector

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

I Can Help You … Call or Text  ..Stan the Metal Detector Man .. 949-500-2136

*** Jeanny  had been on her second floor balcony when she saw a couple leaves on a patio table. She grabbed the small leaves and threw them over the side of the balcony. The action of throwing the leaves caused her gold diamond ring to come off her finger. She went down to search the ivy landscaping immediately after the loss occurred but the ring was not visible. Then she asked the gardener to look for the ring, he also had no luck finding her precious ring.

That evening Jeanny was able to find my contact information with a google search online. I made the trip the next morning and was unable to find her ring. There was a possibility that the ring could have landed on her neighbor’s balcony on the first floor. We had no access to the first floor balcony. Also there was a possibility that I could have dislodged the ring if it had been in her balcony planter. ( I should have searched that planter first )..

I felt that I had done a 90% search of the ivy garden. There was still a good possibility that the ring was on the first floor balcony as it had a larger planter that could hide a ring. She called me the next morning after getting access to the first floor balcony. I made the 40 mile drive just to feel good that I had exhausted all the possible areas that could be searched.

The lower balcony planter did not reveal the ring. I then proceeded to re-check the first 20 ft of the ivy garden area. Then as I was positive the those areas were clear, I went across the side walk more than 35 ft. away from the building. A small planter area on the opposite side of the side walk. There, sparkling in the morning sunlight was the beautiful gold diamond ring. Unbelievable that it went that far. I’m learning that rings seem to go farther that expected when they are lost from balconies or down a sloping hillside.. Never give up, search outside the box,

Gold Wedding Band Lost, Recovered and Returned in Radnor, PA!!!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

James got in touch with me via the Ring Finders directory after losing his white gold wedding band while at a football practice at Radnor High School in Radnor, PA. I met James the next day at the field and he told me he is the coach of his young son’s football team…he was in the middle of the practice and tossing the football back and forth when he felt his ring come off. He didn’t see it fly through the air but felt it come off for sure. He borrowed a friend’s metal detector to try to find it himself but no luck, He decided he needed the help of a pro…hence the call to me! James was pretty sure of the area of the field where it came off….probably a 30 square yard grassy area. In my experience with these kinds of recoveries where it comes off when throwing something….its quite unpredictable where the ring could’ve flown to. I proceeded to cover the area in a grid like fashion….almost like mowing a lawn…and thoroughly covering every square inch of the search area. A gold ring on the surface has a unique signal on my detector so while I was getting a lot of signals none suggested his ring. About 20 minutes into my search…BOOM… I finally got the signal I was looking for. The grass was quite deep so I had to push the deep grass aside…but after doing so there it was!!!! Don’t think James believed me when I first said I found it….he was so happy and relieved when I handed it to him! I was very happy to be able to get his ring back to him!!!

Platinum Wedding Band Lost, Recovered and Returned in Penn Valley, PA!!!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Leonard found me in the Ring Finders directory after he lost his platinum wedding band in an elementary school playground in Penn Valley, PA. He spent hours searching for it before reaching out to me for help. I met him the next day at the playground and he explained that due to some recent weight loss the band had become quite loose on his finger. He was with his son and wife at the school’s playground and had his hands full with all kinds of kids stuff when he figured the band must have slid off his finger. He spent the majority of time and was quite convinced the ring fell off in the mulched area of the playground but he also thought maybe it fell off during his walk back and forth to car. I started with a quick scan of entire mulched area of playground….then took 20 minutes and scanned the entire walking path to where his car was parked. Leonard was hanging with me and looking with his eyes as well….we were both convinced it must be there somewhere. After about 60 minutes I was ready to suggest to him we should wrap it up when he told me he dropped a pretzel very near/under a long aluminum bench along the border of the playground. I obviously didn’t check there since a huge metal bench would interfere with my metal detector…we grabbed both ends of bench and moved it 5 feet away…and I proceeded to detect that area. BOOM! I got the beautiful surface ring signal on my detector I had been hoping for! I looked down and there was his beautiful ring! I think I whooped and hollered and scared Leonard! I told him I found it….and his smile said it all! I was very happy to find Leonard’s ring for him!!!
