Magical Necklace Lost and Found – Kohler-Andre State Park, WI.

  • from Menomonee Falls (Wisconsin, United States)

It was not yet May. Lake Michigan waters were still too cold for a swim. However, that didn’t deter Beaver Dam, Wisconsin resident, Victor Nelson, from taking a refreshing plunge. Victor was spending a relaxing day with his girlfriend on the picturesque beach at Kohler-Andre State Park near Sheboygan. Before jumping into the frigid waves, Victor removed a meaningful silver necklace, giving it to his girlfriend for safekeeping.

Inspired by The Dresden Files the necklace and pendant were crafted after one described by the fiction author, Jim Butcher. Wikipedia explains how in Butcher’s book, the necklace had a pendant in the form of a pentacle with its encircled five-pointed star. The pentacle represented the five elements of air, fire, water, earth and spirit. It had “the power to repel certain creatures of the Nevernever and glows with a low blue light when infused with Harry’s will.” For Victor, the pentacle necklace had more than magical value. Complete with its lab-grown center ruby, the necklace was a special, thoughtful gift from his girlfriend.

To Victor’s horror, he realized the necklace was missing after the couple returned to their vehicle later in the afternoon. Victor’s girlfriend was likewise distressed, this as she had been entrusted with its safekeeping. It had somehow slipped away into the sand while moving beach furniture.

Replaying the afternoon’s activities, it seemed the necklace had slipped off its resting place and disappeared into the loose sand. Despite a half-hour of frantic searching the necklace could not be found. Victor considered renting or purchasing a metal detector but found my listing on theringfinders.com directory instead. A week later my wife and I met up with the hopeful couple at the beach.

Being a Wisconsin State Park, I completed the mandatory license application for a metal-detecting permit. Permit in hand, Victor led the way to the location where he and his girlfriend had spent the day a week prior. Using a nearby piece of partially-buried driftwood as ground zero, a systematic grid search commenced. After an hour the unmistakable signal of silver appeared on my detector’s control screen. The necklace’s hiding place was no match for a state-of-the-art XP Deus II metal detector. While the pentacle didn’t glow with a low blue light when it was found, the smile on Victor’s face was more than magical!

So glad we were able to find your special necklace, Victor.

*** Marcel called me from the Los Angeles International AirPort. He was waiting to board a  airplane. He was asking if I could help him find his wedding ring. He was sure it was lost that same afternoon as he was at the original muscle beach recreation facility in Santa Monica, CA.

He sent me a photo of two of the swinging rings and some bars he worked out on. I agreed to leave after talking to him. This is one of places that can’t be put off till the next day. An hour and a half later I had Marcel’s ring safe in my hand.

After texting him the good news, he asked if I could keep it till he returned from his business trip four weeks later. No Problem, I’d like to return it personally than worry about losing in the mail..

Just like he said, I received a phone call from Marcel and he met me close to my home where I was able to present him with his wedding ring..

Lost and Found Diamond Rings in Puerto Rico.

This was a joint venture by Jerry Van Buren and Donald O’Reilly to search for two very expensive diamond rings lost in the ocean. We teamed up for this find due to the limited time we had to search in the ocean and the remoteness on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico.

The following is a write-up sent to both of us after both rings were found and returned to the owner.

Thank you both so much again! We are still in shock that you found the rings! We cannot thank you enough!!

Below is our recounting of the story:

“My husband and I recently vacationed to Puerto Rico with some friends. While we were there, we ferried over to the island of Vieques and visited a rural beach called Playa La Chiva. While we were in about waist deep water tossing a football around, all of a sudden, to my horror, I realized that both my wedding band and engagement ring had slipped off my finger. We all frantically began searching everywhere where we were playing in the water. We searched for about two or three hours with a snorkel and trying to feel in the sand but couldn’t find it anywhere. Obviously it seemed pretty impossible, but we were just praying that we would miraculously find it, but had no luck. I was devastated. The ring was irreplaceable. My husband had made it custom with a diamond from his grandma. This put a damper on the rest of our trip, but what else could we do? We flew home the next day, very sad. However, the night we returned, God gave my husband the idea to look up how to find a lost ring and ringfinders.com came up. He contacted Jerry and Donald separately told him the story and asked if they could help. We soon found out they knew each other and were up for the challenge to search for my ring together. They were very responsive and extremely nice. They gave us hope that just maybe we would be able to find the ring. We provided them with pictures of where we were so they could know the area we lost it on the island. They went out of their way to take the ferry, rent a car in order to get to the beach because the taxis wouldn’t go on the backroads to Playa La Chiva. Within 30 minutes of searching we received a call from them that they found both my engagement ring and wedding band in waist deep water!! We were ecstatic!!! The next day I flew to Puerto Rico to retrieve the rings. They were so nice to drive to meet us and give us the rings. They are so so kind! I’m so grateful for their willingness to search and cannot believe they found my rings! This was nothing short of a miracle! Thank you Jerry and Donald for giving us hope when we had none and going out of your way to help complete strangers! You are incredible!”

*** Jeremy has experience losing his ring at the beach. He has called me two other times to find his lost ring in the sand at the beach. Now he’s much more careful to not lose his ring at the beach. While on the beach with his wife and child. He took his platinum wedding ring off putting it in a bag with the rest of their belongings.

He went into the surf for a swim while his son and wife stayed on the sand. Upon returning he saw that his son had been playing with the bag. The ring was missing. More than an hour later he had not been able to find the ring. He took photos of the area for future reference and left the beach.

That evening he sent me a text with all the information and the photo. I texted him that it was unnecessary for him to meet me at the location. I could be there early that morning and it should be an easy recovery. I know my area beaches.

The ring was there about 4 inches deep in the dry sand. He put me right on the right spot.. After returning the ring later that morning, Jeremy told me putting the ring in the bag was not safe enough. He vowed not to ever take his ring to the beach, it will be left home from now on..

I’m ready to help you find your missing metal item lost at the beach, yard, park or in the water. Also I have been able to recover jewelry in cars, homes or other places where a metal detector can’t be used using endoscopes and other search tools.

Man’s Gold Wedding Band Found in his Yard – Conway SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

This morning, Apr 20th, I woke up to a text from Scott saying, “Good morning, sir, my name is Scott. I live in Conway. Yesterday I lost my wedding ring I think in my lawn. My issue is we’re leaving to Connecticut for a week on Monday. Are u able to come today or tomorrow to look for it? Thank you.” I called him and got some additional details and told him I’d be there around noon.

I arrived shortly before noon and found Scott and his wife, Kim sitting outside watching over some of their garage sale items for the neighborhood garage sale. We introduced ourselves and I ask Scott to tell and show me what had happened. He said that he had gotten the car washed and was in the process of drying the car down with a towel. There were a few times that he was shaking out the towel in the yard. It wasn’t until he finished that he noticed his ring was gone. He and Kim had looked through the grass the night before with no luck. I turned on my Equinox 800 and started detecting alongside his driveway and out into the grass. After my first grid line, I moved out to the grass area running between the sidewalk and the street. About 3 swings and I got a solid 16 on the VDI. After moving some grass around, I saw Scott’s wedding band laying snugly in its hiding place. I grabbed it and held it up saying “Got it!” Both Scott and Kim were smiling from ear to ear. I asked Kim how they found me, and she said she had posted that Scott had lost his ring on Face Book. She also said that a friend had seen her post and steered her towards The Ring Finders.

Scott and Kim – Thank you for trusting me to help find your lost treasure.

Jim

Metal Detecting Service -Lost Earring – Found! Pittsburgh PA

  • from Indiana (Pennsylvania, United States)

Lost your ring, other valuable jewelry, cellphone, keys, or other metal object…call or text Brian Carpenter at (814)244-2300 as soon as possible. I am a ring recovery specialist serving Pittsburgh, Indiana (PA), and most of Western PA. Why rent a metal detector when you can get a trained operator with top of the line equipment at the same time…

I received a text from Josh that his wife had lost a very special stud earring in their backyard. She had been outside holding a child when the earring was dislodged from her ear. I told him that I would be more than happy to come out and look for it.

I was a bit nervous as I had only been out searching for an earring once before and struck out. Everyone says earrings and small chains are pretty difficult. I arrived and Josh showed me the area. He had got a detector and searched himself to no avail. I got started and almost immediately I got a good sound even though it was a bit sketchy. I took out my pinpointer and there hidden in the grass was the earring. I think I was almost as surprised as Josh at how quickly things worked out. It was a nice recovery and as alway it was good to meet another kind and generous client!

Vintage Heirloom Gold Ring Found and Returned .. Burbank, CA.

Stan the metal detector man is a mobile metal detecting service available to help you find your lost jewelry or other valuable keepsake. Call or text .. 949-500-2136

*** Kiana was at a park in Burbank, CA. which is a City in Los Angeles, CA. Her vintage gold ring came off her finger in a local park near her home. She felt it come off, so she knew the general area of the loss. Two hours of searching the grass was unsuccessful.

She contacted me after finding me online. I made the drive to Burbank to meet her at the park. We had to locate this before the lawnmower found it first. I wasn’t sure how heavy the ring was but I was sure it had to be within a 50ft. radius of where she had been standing.

Within about 15 minutes I found the ring in a large clump of grass. It was much larger than I thought it to be. Amazing that it found one of the only large clumps of grass to hide in. I’m sure it could have easily been spotted visually anywhere else in the area. Anyway Kiana was very happy and relieved that she had it back. Her husband, John also met me, telling me he spent another 2 hours searching the same location on his hands and knees.

If you need help or just want to ask how this serve works .. call now, I will answer any questions you have.. Stan 949-500-2136

Lost Diamond Stud Earring Recovered! Found in Phoenix, Maryland!

  • from Baltimore (Maryland, United States)
Contact:

Sometimes I go months before I receive a call or email regarding a lost item. Not lately! My 3rd call out AND recovery in less than 2 weeks! I received a text from Alexander regarding a lost Diamond stud earring several days ago. He said his wife was out in the yard with their 1-year-old when she felt the earring come out while holding the infant. Unfortunately, the next several days were very rainy, but luckily the earring was not going anywhere being in their back yard. I was eventually able to make it out and met Lauren, Alexander’s wife, who quickly gave me the low down on exactly how it became dislodged and where she thought it might be. I asked her to please let me scan the mate to her lost item and she quickly presented the other earring. Stud earrings are VERY hard to find as there is very little gold(metal) for a detector to get a clean signal on. Luckily, I have found one in the past. With that knowledge and being “one” with my detector, I started to get my equipment tuned in. At that time, Lauren informed me she had to get back inside with her child. By the time I was ready to start my search, she was already in the house, so I began my search in the area she believed to be the “ground zero”.  To my surprise, I detected a weak/broken signal similar to the one I heard when I scanned Lauren’s other earring. Upon moving my detector coil out of the way……..

…….BOOM! Can you see it in the picture? It is not easy to locate even knowing it is right there! I quickly picked it up and snapped a few pics before calling Lauren to come on out……..

I had only been there searching for about 5 minutes! When Lauren came out, I told her that I had to leave. She looked at me a little strange and before she could say anything, I told her “My work here is done”! She was beside herself and at first as I think she believed I was joking, but the smile on her face proves otherwise!

There were many factors that came into play to make this a successful recovery. Lauren starting me off in the correct area of the yard being one of the main ones. Her attention to detail at the time of the crisis was amazing. Getting in touch with my as quickly as possible along with my high-quality equipment and decades of experience didn’t hurt either! Oh, and never discount a little bit of luck!
