High School Class Ring Lost in Chattanooga TN for 16 Years…Found

  • from Chattanooga (Tennessee, United States)

High School Ring Lost for 16 Years, Found!

I had a guy to contact me several months ago about a high school class ring he had lost in 2005.  He had since moved out of state up to Pennsylvania.  This weekend being Mother’s day he was in town visiting family and had obtained permission from the current homeowners to do a search in the yard.  So this has been several months in the making.  He thought it was white gold, but wasn’t certain.  I wasn’t sure what kind of signal I would get on my CTX, and I knew it would be several inches deep, so I was doomed to dig just about everything.  I started up towards the house and worked my way down to the street, drawing my grid lines.  I had been there about three hours and had dug a bag full of trash and modern coins.  It’s slow going when you have to dig nearly everything.  We had only about five feet of yard left before we got to the street when I got a signal that at first looked like trash.  The CTX didn’t give me a VDI number, (I think there was trash very nearby), but I did have a consistent tone and a small tight target identification picture on the screen.  Since it was consistent I dug it and out popped a ring that had been in the ground for 16 years.  It was 3-4 inches deep, a little deeper than I thought it might be.  Another happy ring owner!

Lost Gold Wedding Band Recovered In Pasadena, Maryland!

  • from Baltimore (Maryland, United States)
Contact:

It’s been a while since I’ve been contacted by someone in distress after losing something precious to them. That changed on Friday, May 7th when I received a call from Tim. He was out digging a trench to run electric to his shed when he realized his wedding band was missing. Here is how things went down in Tim’s own words.

“It was a Friday evening when I realized I lost my wedding band while digging a trench in my backyard earlier in the day.  My first thought was to rush out and buy a metal detector.  I did some quick research and realized  I had no experience. I would be lucky to find anything. After doing some more internet searches, I found Ring Finders.  At 9 o’clock at night I sent a text to Jim Wagner.  Little did I know he was close by.  He answered me right away and committed to showing up at my house at 7:30 the next morning.  He told me that if the ring was outside, he would find it.  True to his word, Jim was at my house at 7:30 with a smile and full of understanding. He started at one end of the trench and worked toward the other end while I nervously watched. He found my ring within 15 minutes.  Jim is a talented individual and it was a pleasure meeting him. I can’t thank him enough.”

This emergency TRF call I was contacted by recently was from a group of Texans visiting SoCal. Once again another short yet sweet recovery as they only had to wait around 5-10min for me to unearth it from the time of arrival. Not much too the story except they were all getting ready to leave for their flight back when I had a 911 call at 5:02p.m for HELP. Pictures of the lost wedding band and many smiles were taken at 5:46p.m….Along with a stop for gas & a coffee beforehand though!

Fortunately for those that need help here I live nearby and have ZERO things to hold me down from taking these calls at the drop of a hat…Not so many Detectorist’s or “Treasure hunters” out thar are available to do so.

“Who you gonna call”.  Available whenever.

Kirby sent me a text regarding the loss of her gold heirloom signet ring she believed she lost in her backyard. The ring had belonged to her Grandfather, so it had significant sentimental value for her. We arranged a time when we would both be available for me to come and do the search, and on that day I was on my way.

When I arrived Kirby met me, showed me the backyard, and where she thought she had lost her ring. When I saw her grass I could see how a ring could get lost in it. It was incredibly plush. Each blade of the grass had to be 5 inches in length straight up from the ground like a mini jungle over the whole back yard. I went over the area she pointed out to me only finding a dime that had been there for a while. I then expanded my search out until I completely searched the whole yard, only finding a nickel, and an old cookie cutter. Not willing to be beaten I did a cross grid of the yard, but did not find the ring. We talked a bit more about the day, and what might have happened, and the only thing left was her trash, which she had already gone through, but wisely did not throw out. I went through each item in the bags with my pin pointer until I came upon a crumpled napkin that was surprisingly sounding off. I picked it up, and shook it a bit, and the ring came tumbling out. Even though Kirby had thoroughly searched the trash the ring had evaded her pursuit. She could not believe it when I held up the ring for her, and showed her where it had been. What a wonderful search!

White Gold Wedding Ring Lost in the Sand at Newport Beach…Found and Happily Returned.

Matthew had gone with his family to the beach for a fun day out, when while playing with his children, and a flick of his wrist, his wedding ring was gone into the soft beach sand. He told me he had searched for about 4 hours before his wife found me on The Ring Finders web site, and gave me a call. Being that that particular beach is highly metal detected, I let her know that I was leaving immediately, so as to have the best possibility of a recovery.

I got to the beach quickly, and found the family. Matthew explained and showed me what had happened. He had been on the slope of sand that goes down to the water from where they had their towels when he flicked his wrist. What made it more difficult for his own search was the fact that movement by him and his children in the area of the loss caused more sand to move down the slope and cover the ring deeper in the sand. I worked my way down the slope with no signal, and then began working back up in a grid fashion when near the bottom of the slope I got a good solid signal, dug, and had Matthew’s ring in the scoop. They were very happy to have it back, as this was specially engraved. I looked and noticed that Matthew’s wife had a silicone ring on, and complimented her for her conscientiousness regarding her jewelry. A very happy ending to the day!

Sarah lost three silver rings in Horseshoe Lake during a kayaking adventure and small swim. She was devastated over the loss of her rings and shared this situation with one of her good friends. All though they were not expensive they represented a wedding engagement ring set and had high sentimental value and meant the world to her. Her friend reassured her and told her about my services as I had done a search in the same lake previously for her last summer.

Based on her friends recommendation Sarah called me and shared her story asking if I thought there was any chance or possibility I could help. I reassured her that I could perform a search and based on the specifics she provided we had a pretty good shot. She understood there was no guarantees but was excited to have found someone that actually had experience doing lost ring recovery work in a lake. So many people tell us they didn’t even know a service like ours existed. Our standard response is yes we are a passionate group about lost item recovery and ask that you share TheRingFinders.com on your social media outlets so we can reach out and help find more smiles.

About two weeks after the loss of her rings we met up on a perfect sunny day. We came prepared with our kayaks because the route to the suspected drop zone was about one mile from the launch and inaccessible by foot. Full of optimism, gear, experience and ambition we took off in our boats on an adventure to find a little cove she stopped at to take a small cool off swim on the day of the loss. The rings had been tucked into her top and as she adjusted her clothing the rings fell into the lake unnoticed. She went on a small swim out and back then kayaked back to the launch site. Just before they got out of the lake it became apparent what had happened. Her rings were missing! They raced back to the cove, looked through the water but to no avail could not find any of the rings due the silty lake bottom. In the process of searching that day her cell phone fell into the lake but she was able to reach down and easily retrieve her phone.

Watch the video to see how this lost ring story finds its resolution after quite a bit of focused effort.

Heirloom and engagement ring lost and found.

Received a phone call from a young lady last evening about having lost her engagement ring. This ring was very special as the diamond was a heirloom given to her fiancé, for him to have the ring especially made for her. She mentioned that she took her dog for a walk to the park and that she was also doing yard work in the back yard. The grass rack broke and she was picking up grass clippings with her hands. With that said, I was pretty sure the ring would be located in her yard. After 45 minutes of gridding the yard, I found the ring. It was so well disguised, in the grass, that there is no way anyone could of found it just by looking. I’m so happy I was able to reunite her with her beautiful ring. Her reaction in the video is priceless. All that ends well!!

A couple of days went by, and she decided to email me through rediscoverlost.com for help in finding her lost gold tiffany ring. I knew Anne from a couple of years ago when we thought a gold ring was forgotten in the grass. Now, I’m back to help find the lost gold with the high-frequency coil used on XP Deus metal detectors.

How to Find a Lost Ring

Lost ring in your yard? It happens all the time – as the weather warms up and the yard work begins. Don’t waste your time renting or borrowing a metal detector. Stop and mark the area where you believe the ring was lost. If plowing or shoveling occurs, block off the site to preserve the ring’s location.  My jewelry finding service covers Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and other surrounding states.
