Keys Lost in our Calgary Snow, are still easy to find.
Roger had the unfortunate experience of having his keychain break open while wallking through the snow. After a quick once over, they popped up on the second set of swings. Watch the video.

Daylene has had a very difficult year. Lots of change and health scares led her to hide her rings in her newly purchased home. Months later and still having significant stresses, she couldn’t locate the rings she tucked away earlier and now that was weighing on her as well. Daylene called me and we talked. In the end, we decided that a different perspective, some integrity and a little tenacity would go a long way to providing some relief. She was right, we found the rings but not quite how she thought we would.

Megan was splashing her brother while sitting in the surf in Sea Isle City, NJ when the unexpected happened; her rose gold promise ring flew off her finger into the ocean with one of the splashes. Her mother reached out to me, and I explained that we had a good chance of finding it. I met the family on the beach and started working under the low-tide line parallel to the surf, working my way up the slope. I dug a few targets before getting a “promising” signal that was 5-6 inches deep. I dug one final scoop, and the ring was returned to Megan!

Aliya called me that her husband Nathaniel had lost a Wedding Ring the previous evening, I responded right away. The Family had been having a photo shoot on Dilworth Mountain. During the photo shoot Nathaniel did not wear his wedding ring because it did not fit properly, so he borrowed his fathers ring ( who was not with them) for the shoot, unfortunately his fathers ring was also too loose, and wouldn’t you know it, he lost it. The family all searched the suspected loss location with no success, as luck would have it during their search, someone stepped on the ring and pushed it into the ground. The first sweep of my detector gave a signal, and after scraping the dirt we had fathers ring recovered. Everyone one was happy, and it saved an embarrassing conversation with father.
Frances was enjoying a swim with her friends at Uretiti Beach, near Whangarei after a round of golf.
While in the water, she suddenly felt her very sentimental gold ring slip off her finger. Looking down, she could see it although couldn’t get to it. After repeated efforts she finally lost sight of it – Gone.
She was understandably very upset when she phoned me, the emotion of losing an obviously very special item was clearly evident over the phone and she wasn’t entirely convinced it would be worth trying to find it again.
I assured her that after hearing the details I didn’t consider it irretrievably lost, and made arrangements to drive down the following morning.
Onsite, we walked down to, and along the beach a little way.
She had taken a photo of the dunes, which helped narrow down where they had been – Nothing boosts the odds in your favour like having an accurate start point!
I walked down the beach and straight into the tide – with a 150km drive each way, I needed to ensure I found it on this visit.
The waves were small today, which was a pleasant change for this ocean beach
After about an hour and a half, I lifted the scoopful of sand and there was a lovely gold band. I held it up to show Frances who was up by the dunes and waded in.
On handing it to Frances, I joked, “This where you say it’s not yours” with a chuckle.
I stopped grinning as soon as she replied, “It’s not mine.”
“What?”
Back into the tide.
Thirty minutes later, another ring. The reaction when I showed Frances was enough to tell me that this time it was definitely the right one.
That job done, I now start the sleuthing to locate the owner of the other ring…
Got a message from a lady who’s husband had lost his titanium wedding ring last summer while mowing. He took it off and put it in his pants pocket. When he got done mowing it wasn’t there anymore.
It took me about 30 mins, but I was able to get a decent near the surface signal and popped the target to see a titanium ring!!!

I was scheduled to get off work early today. 10 mins before 10:00 am I get message from the “NEXT DOOR” app from a Paul. He asked if I could try and find his wedding ring that he lost in his front or back yard about a year ago. I get there and take 10 mins to get the story and the area to check.
I start in the front, in his flowerbed and my first signal, less than 2 mins, was his wedding ring!

Maria Was walking her two dogs at Royal Beach on Wednesday March 8th 2023. She stopped to take her boots off and dump the sand. She continued down the beach and discovered her ring was missing. She searched and had others search with no luck. After a web search Maria found me and we arranged a search. It only took 5 minutes and she had the ring back. I love my job.
Got a referral from Dave Oliver about this lost platinum ring that has been lost since July of 2022. I called up Mr. Singh and got the back story. Turns out his wife worked many hours making minimum wage saving every penny to buy this ring for her husband. It had great sentimental value to the Singh’s. They’ve been married for 17 years! So last July, he was mowing and got into some yellow jackets. In the process of running back towards the house and swatting bees his ring flew off in the yard, but he wasn’t sure where he lost because he didn’t realize it for over 3 hours! I started in that area and in about 20 mins, I get a signal and boom there it was about 2 inches down. After finding it and walking back to my truck to put my equipment away, I see him coming out into the garage. He asked me, “DID YOU FIND IT!” I said, “YES SIR” as I held up my finger with it on my hand. He broke down crying!! The wife comes out and she breaks down crying too. We sat and just talked about things for about another hour and one thing he said that is so true and makes you think. He was saying to his wife life moves fast, so fast that all you can do is take mental pictures as your life flies by. He told me he said to his wife that after everything in life is gone. The house, car, kids grown and moved out. The one thing he wanted to do was sit on the porch looking back at his life while feeling this ring on his hand. The ring she worked so hard to buy for him and their love for one another and their marriage together.

March 2023 a gentleman called asking for assistance in searching for his lost keys. He had been walking the night before and stumbled on the curb after crossing the street. He fell to the ground into some tall grass bushes that fortunately cushion his fall so he didn’t sustain any injuries. However after walking down the sidewalk a few moments later he checked his coat pocket and noticed his keys were no longer with him. The grass being very tall easily obscured the keys from view making his visual search unsuccessful.
When I met the gentleman on site we reconstructed the chain of events allowing me to identify the drop zone. After a few quick passes of my metal detector I was able to quickly recover his keys beneath a patch of tall grass. He was very much appreciative to have them back in his hands and quite shocked how quickly they were located after having spent quite some time searching two separate areas. I told him not to be disappointed on his efforts as this happens all the time. By working with an experienced Lost Item Recovery Specialist its not only our technology that we bring but our years of experience in having worked and studied so many of these lost item cases. With this experience we have developed a keen since in asking the correct investigative questions that tend to guide us many times to the best areas to focus our physical search efforts.
Before he went on his way two suggestions were offered to mitigate a future reoccurrence. I suggested he find a clip of any kind and secure the key ring to his clothing or pack. Also the by adding an Apple AirTag tracker to his key chain since he has an iPhone would be extremely beneficial. A very nice guy and I believe he will secure his keys moving forward. We are happy he was not injured in his fall and wish him all the best.
