Yarmouth, MA Wedding Band Lost and Found. 2 Years Later It Is Returned by Richard Browne

Well this return is my first of its kind a One in a Million chance, DONE!

Some two years ago Andrew was vacationing at one of my home town’s resorts. He was having a wonderful time playing ball, swimming, sunning and enjoying Vacation Land. All was a perfect vacation until his wedding band slipped from his finger. And as I told hundreds of vacationers that have asked for my detecting expertise help, what ever is lost is almost always still there. But you may not know just where that spot is. You will know where the spot is that you realize that you have lost the object. And the sooner I can start searching the better my chances are of finding it.

Fortunately my may success stories are gaining popularity and word is spreading along the shores of Cape Cod as is TheRindFinders.com web site. At one point this summer Andrew and his wife read some the postings and contacted me with a far out question about Andrew’s lost wedding band. It was lost at a South Yarmouth resort on June 21st/22nd 2021, any possibility you could look for it?

Knowing the area is well detected over by both vacationers and locals including myself, I knew it would be a fruitless endeavor to search for it. Also I could look at my records and ask other detectorists if they might have Andrew’s ring. My records showed that I had found such a ring after the time that Andrew had lost his ring. Now, how to verify that it was his ring. Pictures were sent back and forth and one with no inscription inside “Looked like that is the ONE! OK, I’ll send it to you, if it is yours it will be amazing. If not you can send it back.

On June 28th the ring was in the mail. One problem on my side is that the credit card machines at the post office were down, Cash Only. My luck I did not have cash enough to pay for the tracking option. I have send many rings through the mail with no problem…so away it went. Several texts back and forth about it not being received, we had almost given up hope – it must be lost in the mail. Then on July 20 a text I received read: “Envelope just showed up! It’s his ring!!! I can’t believe it!” Neither could I. All I can say is “It was meant to be”

Gold Wedding Ring Lost at Santa Monica Beach…Found and Happily Returned.

Kevin contacted me about 12:00 midnight after having lost his wedding ring earlier in the day. When he told me where he lost it, I told him it would be best to go right away, because this area is detected like clockwork by other treasure hunters. He agreed, and we both rushed to the area.

We were there by about 12:30 AM. He got there just before me, and sent a text telling me that another detector was searching the area, and he would try to keep him from the spot. As I walked down I saw the other guy moving into the area where Kevin was standing, so I went right over. I let the other guy know why I was there, and he didn’t seem too happy as he kept searching the same area. We got to where we actually bumped coils a couple of times, but I kept to my search plan after Kevin showed me where to look. A couple more swings of the coil, a dip of the scoop, and I had Kevin’s ring which I promptly handed back to him, and then we both left the spot to the other guy. I know Kevin appreciated the fact that I was not afraid to stand my ground when it came to helping him, and I was glad to do it. He told me he had searched so hard earlier crawling on his hands and knees, that his knees had become raw, and was so surprised at how quickly the recovery was made. We made it by the skin of our teeth with just minutes to spare, and I was so happy to have made Kevin’s day.

How to find a lost cross with Metal Detector, Lavallette NJ, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

What would 4 young men do after their Stockton State College track meet, that’s right, go to the beach to have some fun and cool down in the pristine Jersey Shore Ocean waters. Just prior to going into the water, Brendan removed his cherished cross and chain, and clasped it around the loop on his hat for safe keeping. After they got out of the water, it was placed back around his neck, and just a few moments later, his friend noticed the cross was missing. Luckily his friend Jackson had told his mom Brenda, who was very familiar with NJ Ring Finder stories, from some of the local pages. Brendan, Jackson, and Luke had searched for quite a while without any luck, and that’s when the call came in to me for HELP. I arrived on the Lavallette beach just a short while later, got all the details and searched the entire spot without any luck. After they assured me it must be right there, I turned my metal detectors sensitivity almost as high as it would go, and on the first pass I received a very faint but steady signal, which was in fact, Brendan’s beautiful cross. Another happy ending to a fantastic beach day.

Platinum wedding ring lost in Destin, fl recovered

Caden Gonzalez’s platinum wedding band was lost in Destin while swimming, but with determination and a little luck, it was recovered within 20 minutes! A one-year anniversary miracle! Lost Rings of Destin, FL and ringfinders do it again!!

Lost and found diamond 18K gold wedding ring in Fenelon falls Ontario

Today’s recovery took me to Felenon falls/Bobcaygeon area. Received a text from Johnny about loosing his newly custom made diamond 18 K gold wedding band last weekend. Johnny had some diamonds from his late grandmother crafted into his new wedding band. He and his bride of only one month, were at a family cottage and went for a swim in the late evening and noticed that his wedding ring was missing at around 2AM. Retracing his steps and looking at selfies from the evening, he was pretty sure that the ring would be either under the dock, where they sat and watched a meteor shower for a while or in the water where he dove in a couple times. Desperate, he even had purchased a metal detector and detected around the property to see if the ring had fallen off during the evening. After meeting up at the cottage and getting oriented, I put on my Scuba gear and grabbed my underwater metal detector. Water being just over 12 feet deep, and after only about 15 minutes search, I was able to locate his ring in about one foot of silt. His reaction was priceless and heartfelt as I surprised him with his ring once I surfaced at the dock. Another great recovery. Life is good!

Sabrina contacted me about 11:00 PM about a ring she lost earlier in the day. She told me it was a very sentimental ring to her, and was wondering if I could help. I don’t think she was expecting my response, but I told her that I would do the search right away, to insure the best possible outcome for a recovery. She had to think about it, and then agreed to meet me at the beach to show me where to look.

I arrived about 40 minutes after our communication, and waited for Sabrina who came shortly after with her fiance. As we went out I showed her the sand where the daily beach cleaners scour the sand early in the morning removing everything but the smallest items. We walked over to the area of the loss, and she showed me where she had been, so I began my search. The area was not large, but she told me that she had searched it hard with tears rolling down her face. I found a penny, and had a few other signals that turned out to be too deep, and then as I moved out a bit, I got a good signal, dug and had her ring. She was surprised that it had been found so quickly, not even knowing it would ever be found. I was so glad to be able to help Sabrina get something back that means so much to her.

Unique Ring Found for Owner, North Falmouth, Massachusetts

Liza was playing in the water at a local association beach when she lost a very special ring.   She had moved the ring to a finger where it was not normally worn, and it unfortunately was a loose fit.  When she spun around in the water, the ring went flying into the waves.  The family did an internet search, found the Ring Finders, and called me within a couple hours of the loss.  I collected my gear and met them at the beach about a half hour later.

Liza’s ring was silver and truly unique in design.  It was specially made with an imprint of her dog’s nose (yes, really!) on the raised table of the ring.  This was sure a new one to me, and it obviously was very special to her.  I headed into the water for a search of the area where Liza said she lost the ring, but I soon found myself chin-deep and on my tiptoes.  The tide had risen a couple feet and this obviously was not going to work.  I said I’d come back at low tide 2 days hence, as I had to be out of town the following day.

When I returned on the second day I set up a couple floats and commenced a search pattern of the likely area.  Waves hindered the search but I covered the area in about 2 hours with no result.  I expanded the search and shortly found the ring about 10 feet outside my initial search perimeter.  I made a call and arranged to return the ring to Liza’s grandfather the next day (Liza had returned to home in western Massachusetts).  The ring has now found its way home and there are a lot of happy people (not to mention the dog) all around!

Cape Cod’s Power Landing Beach: Wedding Band Lost, Found and Returned

Keeping it simple, William was rinsing his hands off in knee deep water when his wedding band slipped from his finger. His family could not believe that this was his second ring lost at this one beach. The first ring had been lost some 5 years previously. As stories of a lost ring usually goes all the help in searching for the rings were to no avail. This time William’s uncle Jim took charge and called a Ring Finder.

That is where I got involved first with a phone call, then a trip to a beach I had never been too. When I arrived (the next day) I had William show me where he thought he lost the ring. He put an “X” in the sand. The “X” was about 150 feet from where Uncle Jim thought the ring was lost. Well I started by lining out a box around Williams “X”, searched the area and did not find the ring. Next I increased the area a bit along the breath of the beach. On my second pass I noticed a black rock that looked out of place and swung my detector’s coil over the area and…bingo about a foot away from the rock, there was the wedding band. William than said he remembered putting the rock that while searching under water. Two good efforts put forth, one for contacting a RingFinder and one for marking the area where the ring was lost lead to the swift recovery of the wedding band.

Now for the first ring lost 5 years ago, it will be kept on my “Did not find list” as my searching effort recovered only a few lost coins. Either the ring is too deep in the sand for my detector to “see”, someone has already found it, or it was just not in the area I searched. When all the detecting was done, it was time for pictures and smiles. There was no lack of either both from William’s group or other near-by beach goers.

On my way off the beach I was stopped and asked a few questions as to what I was looking for. During the conversation I notices one woman’s necklace was unhooked and hanging loose. When I brought it to her attention, deep concern as to the where-a-bouts overcame her cheerful smile. Discreetly she searched for the “missing” chard and found it. My detecting expertise was not required. However a jeweler’s skill will be required to fix the broken necklace. All in all it was another sunny, wonderful day on a Cape Cod beach.

Platinum Wedding Ring Lost in the Sand at Hermosa Beach…Found and Returned.

Nick called after he had lost his wedding ring in the sand while filling up sand anchors for his shade at the beach. He had been digging the sand to put into the bags, and afterward realized his ring was gone. He was still at the spot, so I told him I would leave right away in insure the best possible outcome of my search.

When I arrived Nick met me and took me right to the area he believed the ring had come off. I turned my detector on, and with just a few swings of the coil, received a great signal, dug with my scoop, and had his ring. I was able to give it back to him quickly. It is so important, if possible, not to leave the area, but secure it, so no one else lays their things over it, but if you can’t I will still try. Another smile for The Ring Finders!

Gold Coin and Yellow Gold Wedding Band Lost, Found and Returned Oak Island, NC

This little adventure started on Thursday, Jul 25th about 9:30pm when I got a text from Megan. Her text said, “Hello we are inquiring about a lost ring, chain, and coin in Oak Island NC. What is your pricing and are you available tonight or tomorrow.” Her phone number was on the text message, so I called her. She told me, in so many words that her husband Tyler and his brother were having a brotherly love moment when things escalated a little. It continued to escalate across the top of the beach in the dry sand, down the slope and into the ocean. When they finished, both brothers had lost their gold chains. The chain belonging to the brother had a cross pendant attached and Tyler’s chain had a 10-dollar, 14 oz gold coin and his yellow gold wedding ring. Unfortunately, Megan and Tyler were leaving to go back home the next morning, and the tide wasn’t right for a search until the next afternoon. Megan arranged for her father-in-law, Jim to meet me the next afternoon.

My daughter, Lisa and her family were in town visiting and she loves to go on my ring calls with me. I’ve shown her how to use the Equinox 800 and she’s gotten pretty good at using it. When we got there, we met Jim and Nia, the brother’s younger sister. Both Jim and Nia filled in some blanks and showed Lisa and I the approximate route the boys went to get to the ocean. I had Lisa doing a grid line in the soft sand and I started working the slope down to the ocean. At some point Nia had told Lisa that she had lost one of her earrings while taking the family portrait a few days earlier. While I’m detecting, I see Lisa and Nia all excited and jumping up and down in the dry sand. Lisa had found the earring. We both continued our grid lines with no luck. A very short time later a big storm was moving our way with lightening, thunder, and heavy rain. We made it to the car just in time and waited out the storm. There was still lightning and thunder out over the ocean, but I got tired of waiting. Continuing my grid line, I finally hit a solid signal which showed up as an 18/19 on the Nox. Dug out a scoop of sand, spread it out with my foot, and Bingo! I had the 10-dollar gold coin. Lisa joined me a short time later and she continued her grid in the dry sand. I took a quick picture of the coin and sent it to Megan. About another 5-8 yards I got another 18 on the Nox. I dug a scoop and Boom; I had Tyler’s wedding ring. Sent another picture to Megan and then called her. She and Tyler were very excited. I gave both the coin and ring to Jim who was going to get it to Megan and Tyler. Lisa and I continued looking for the chains and other charm with no luck. The next day, I took a buddy, who uses the Deus II back up and we both searched for the chains and pendant and weren’t able to find them.
