Not all items recovered are valuable in the sense of monetary value.  Often, an item has more sentimental value then anyone could imagine.  I received a call from Sandra earlier in the day about a 14k white gold charm that was lost in the sand while she and her sister were on the beach in Strathmere, New Jersey. The charm belongs to her sister, Bonnie, who was able to find the chain with the other two charms but not the moon.  Each charm is very special to both sisters because they represent their mother, father & Jesus.  Sandra called me without her sister knowing because she didn’t want Bonnie to know if the charm was not found.  After I gridded out the approximate location where they were sitting yesterday and after a quick search with the Minelab Equinox 800, the charm gave a signal and was in the scoop!

I called John ( From Ring Finders) at 4 pm on a Saturday August 18th and he was at Ocean City NJ 16th Street beach at 6 pm. I had lost my wedding ring in the sand while consulting with the ice cream man for a bottle of water. John found the ring within an hour! He gave me a time to meet and was absolutely punctual about the time, even called me to say he was parking. John treated the situation as if it were his own family member who had lost the ring and assured me if the ring was in the sand he would find it. What a relief! Do not hesitate to call him, he is surely the best at what he does!

Lost Wedding Ring In The Surf At Paradise Cove Malibu Found And Returned

I got a call late Sunday afternoon from Lisa who had Just lost her wedding ring at the beach in Malibu. I had just come back over forty miles from another beach and was very tired. , Once I found out that the couple were on there honeymoon  I made it no problem to help the newlyweds .  I made plans with Lisa and her husband Mike To meet them on the beach early the next morning to catch The next low tide. When I arrived at the beach just before 5am the surf was calm and it was easy to search at the bottom of the slope in the water. Just after 6am the couple arrived and showed me the area that she lost the ring.  They looked around at the waters edge But I thought the ring would be higher up on the slope being that the ring was heavy gold and the surf  wasn’t very strong.  I did a grid pattern working my way down the slope and after about Fifteen minutes got a deep but solid signal .So I dug down two scoops deep and there was Lisa’s Ring glisening in the morning sun.  Lisa and Mike were very emotional and happy to have thier ring back.  I have to say that out of the many people i’v been fortunate enough to meet and help. They were one of the nicest couples i’v ever met.

Cape Cod – Lost Ring 1 of 3 returned in one day! Yale University

It was a breezy, cool, overcast day’s start at a Dennis, MA beach. With no one in the water and only five other people on the beach Meg, the on duty lifeguard had little to watch for. With nothing but time on her hands she started spinning her Yale University 2018 class ring on her finger. Dreaming of the upcoming school year she found herself looking at the ring and OOPS… And as sand through an hour glass her ring fell from the lifeguard’s perch into the sands of the beach. A hurried search and with the help of her sister, the ring did not show itself.

A call to J&E Enterprise for help ended with a call to me. Within 20 minutes I arrived on the beach with metal detector in hand. I listened to the story of the ring’s loss took two swings which covered the small box were the ring was thought to be. Not there, move to the larger box drawn in the sand and another few swings did not produce anything but a bottle cap and pen. I started to enlarge my search area at the leg of the wooden lifeguard’s chair and bingo; there the ring was resting in the shaded section of the sand.

Ring returned, pictures taken and a big hug, AND I thought that was to make my day. That was not to be…read my blog (Cape Cod – Ring 2 of 3 returned in one day!) for my afternoon hunt for a lost wedding band.

Orleans, Cape Cod: A ring lost in the sand was found and returned by a Ring Finder

Trying to teach children how to do a hand stand in a lake lead to a lost ring. That is just what happened to Justin. Unlike Little Tom Thumb, Justin stuck his hand into the sand and pulled it out without his wedding band. Unable to find it by himself, Justin’s mother contacted J&E Enterprise to rent a detector and ended up with a better alternative – contacting a Ring Finder, in this case, me. I left home within an hour of being contacted, in the water 45 minutes later and within another 5 minuets Justin was wearing his ring again. As for me…I did not get my swimming trunks wet.

The beach was filled with family members who all gathered around to make a grand picture of smiles.

Buried Wallet and Celphone.. Santa Monica, CA. .. Found with Metal Detector

Richard was visiting from New Mexico. He has to catch a return flight at 8am in the morning. All his identification, credit cards and money is in his wallet. He placed his wallet and his cell phone in a zip lock bag then buried them in the sand, placing his backpack on top of his secret hiding place.
.. Richard didn’t want to leave his wallet and cellphone in his backpack in case somebody stole his backpack. It was a good idea if he remembered to retrieve his buried valuables before picking up his backpack. He was a half mile away from the location when he realized that forgot dig up his plastic bag. and to top it off it was dark out on the beach.
Returning to his motel room he was able to use the internet to contact me. I started to recommend another detectorist but after hearing how important it was to him. I told him I would meet him at 9:45pm. He didn’t have a phone so connecting with him had might be difficult. Sometimes people find wallets and keys before we get to the location, but that’s not going stop me from trying to meet up with Richard.
Another concern was the general location was one block south of the Santa Monica pier. Hit hard by other detectorists, especially on a Sunday evening. The larger size of the item also makes it possible that somebody found it playing in the sand.
After arriving, I walked out to the lifeguard tower where Richard said it was buried. He was there to meet me. First thing he told me that he was actually at the next tower. It made it easy to get close to the area he buried the wallet because it was in front of the tower. Also it was only lost for 3 hours. Fifteen minutes of grid searching with my CTX 3030 gave me good signal most likely from the Celphone, it is possible to get a decent signal from the magnetic strip on the credit cards.
This find saved the day the day for Richard. It would have been a mess to try to catch his flight in the morning without identification, credit cards, money or a celphone. Richard was elated not knowing what to do, so he gave me a big man hug.. Not the first time for me, just another way to say thanks. Check out the real smile on Richard’s photo.
I’m glad I did not say, I was too busy to take the call. From the time I left the house till the time I returned home was 2 1/2 hours. It took longer to take the photos than it did to find his buried treasure.

Lost White Gold Diamond Wedding Ring in Sand .. Huntington State Beach, CA. .. Found

Crystal found my contact information on line. She told me that she had put her two rings on a towel that was on her beach chair. Later, when she went to move her chair under the shaded canopy, she grabbed the towel throwing it in a small tent they had set up for her young child. Crystal was holding her young daughter in her arms when she move the chair with the free hand.
It was just a few minutes after moving into the shade that she realized what she had done. Everybody jumped in to help and they were able to find the double wedding band, but couldn’t find the larger diamond engagement ring.

I was confident this would be an easy search judging by past searches.. Not so easy, I was begining to lose hope that the ring was still in the area. It was a white gold with large solitaire surrounded by quite a few diamonds, possibly it was buried deep by the other people searching by hand. I’ve also read that these solitaire rings may be lying in a vertical position, heavy end down. Three or four passes changing my settings on my detector to optimize detection depth with no success. I could see the look! from others that were watching me. ” Does this guy know what he’s doing look?”
As last resort we moved 35 feet away from where the first ring was found to check under the shaded canopy. Three or four swings inside, I got a strong solid hit, a nice low tone (12-03 TID).

We think that the ring may have dropped on her daughter or stayed on the chair till she brought everything inside the canopy. Another example of why I should not assume that both rings fell at the same time in the same place.
It was a challenging search that had me wondering if my equipment was working properly. My next move would have been to get one of my other backup detectors. Pulse induction detectors that get all metals with a little more depth.
Everybody seemed to be impressed that the ring was found and they said they would tell their friends about TheRingFinders.com.
