Received a call this morning @ 9:00 am from Blake he said that he had lost his gold ring last night while trimming a spruce tree in a yard and the yard had four inches of snow on the ground Then he tells me he used a metal detector to try and locate his ring with no luck, I believe the detector he was using was a old Radio Shack analog type he then used another gold ring to try and find the one he had lost with no luck and his detector could not pick either one so I had to find Two gold rings,
Told Blake I would be there within the hour, I meet up with Blake at the yard and within five minutes found both rings, another happy client thanks Blake

It’s a cold winter for the rest of the country, but we are fortunate in So. California. It’s been in the high 70’s to 80 degrees with lots of sun. I took advantage of a senior discount to go see a movie. Half way through the movie, I received a call but could not answer it till I got to the lobby. With the technology of the smart phone it was easy to call the missed phone call. Ten years ago this would not have been possible. The success of this search was largely a result of people having smart phones and access to the internet. A man named David answered the call and passed the phone to Robert who had lost his gold and diamond wedding ring. After talking to Robert I decided I could always go to a movie. It was more important to help Robert find his ring. Robert said he was at the Montage Resort on the beach near Treasure Island and added that he wasn’t leaving till he found his ring. It took me about an hour to get to his location because I had to stop by my place to get my favorite detector, Minelab CTX 3030.
I was able to find a parking place which is not always easy at So. Calif. beaches. I also avoid paying expensive daily parking because I have annual parking passes for 4 of the major beaches and all the Calif. state beaches ( some of the fees are $15 per car)
Here’s how the ring was lost. It’s your basic ” I took my ring off to put sunscreen on story” there was a twist to this story because Robert handed his ring to his wife. Sandy put it on her lap forgetting it was there, she got up walking over to the other side of where they were sitting. Then she realized that the ring was gone. After searching through the sand with their fingers , David who was on the beach near them came to help them. He told them that he had heard from a friend about TheRingFinders.com . David actually googled our website and called me. I wonder how many people walk away after losing their sentimental jewelry because they don’t know that TheRingFinders exists in many cities and countries?
It was not a hard search . After finding 2 dimes, a penny and a toy car , I got a signal near their daughter’s beach chair. I asked her to move the chair and instantly I got a strong gold tone. Digging it up with my sand scoop was the easy part. Then the smiles and high fives happened. Robert told me he had worn the ring everyday for 15 years. It was also very important to Sandy his wife, she had chosen this ring for Robert 15 years ago. I’m guessing that Sandy also did not want to be responsible for losing this ring. This will also make a good beginning to the Thanksgiving holiday starting a day early. It was really a pleasure to meet David who helped Robert and Sandy find TheRingFinders directory. I would rather help somebody find their lost ring than see a movie any day .
“The day was cold and dark and dreary”, I’ve always wanted to say these words from Longfellow’s poem, “Rainy Days” and today was fitting. Ray S. called me yesterday an said he lost his wedding band while taking out his garbage container. He had snow on his hands and when he shook them off his ring went flying off into the grass. Ray searched through the Oak leaf covered grass but could not find it. A friend had told him about THERINFINDERS so he looked us up and found one of my associates not home and then called me. I have made several trips to the East side of our state over the past 4 years. Ray told me the story and I told him I would be out the next morning, weather permitting. I started the 140 mile trip with wet streets and blowing snow but by the time I got to Ray’s house it was just dark and dreary. Getting my Fisher F75 out, I started a grid search using the area that Ray thought his ring should be. I started down the edge of the drive about 30 feet then back up and over 3 feet. After about 10 feet into my second leg I got a 56 on my detector scale and there it was, pushed down into the wet dirt, I pulled up his ring. Ray must have stepped on the ring while looking for it and the only way it would have been found is with a metal detector. Ray went into the house to show his wife, Alex, that he got his ring back. Alex ran out of the house and gave me a big hug and said thank you. It was a pleasure helping out Ray and Alex and brighten up that Dark and Dreary day.
I received a call the other day in regards to a lost ring in the attic…The young man told me he found me online when he was looking on how to find a lost ring in the attic. We discussed the search and I knew I could find his ring but it could be challenging.
We met up on Sunday and he showed me the attic and how he lost the ring and where…I got to work and thankfully it wasn’t summer as the temperature in the attic was comfortable, it was blown in insulation so it’s like quicksand for ring.
After searching with my AT gold with the sniper coil for approximately 30 minutes I received a good target number of 65/66… there was his wedding band of 13 years just hidden inches into the insulation.
I love the hunt for the lost ring, you never know where its going to show up but when it does…There it is…A Smile!
I love my job!

January 2013, Paul called me to assist with his lost wedding ring on his hobby farm, we were successful in recovering the ring. Today November 2014, Paul called me again to say that he had once again lost his wedding ring again while working in the Orchard and his wife was not impressed. He was raking the leaves and driving his tractor with his gloves on, he removed his gloves at four locations when he noticed the ring was missing. I detected the four locations where he thought it would be with no success, I told him I would grid the whole farm until I found it. After a couple of hours the ring was located by an apple tree in the Orchard. Another marriage saved, I told Paul I would book him in for next year.
Danielle called at 9:00 am on the 17th of November asking for help finding a wedding band belonging to her brother, Chad. He had lost it off the seawall behind his home on Saturday, November 15th and was upset thinking that it would never be found. Danielle found the Ringfinders and called Tom Jones and asked if they could help in any way.
A large storm with a cold front following was coming in off the Gulf of Mexico that afternoon. With this in mind Tom headed out to the beach and met Danielle. After 45minutes of hunting through oyster shell and various metal targets, Tom found the ring and returned it to Danielle. Her brother Chad did not have any idea that she had found us and that we had found the ring.
She said that he was going to be so surprised when he got home and got his ring back.

I received a call from a young man who lost a ring at UBC in Vancouver the other day, he told me the story about how a friend threw it out of a 3rd story balcony at 1 am and the rest is history…
The young man came back for 4 days searching for the ring but couldn’t find it. He went online to find a metal detector to rent and found me on The Ring Finders and called me.
It only took a matter of minutes to locate his lost ring and it was back where it belonged…
The story about the ring was a nice one as the ring was given to him by his older brother…It was his brothers graduation ring, he gave it to him so that he could focus on school and graduate himself.
You could only imagine how upsetting it would have been for this young man if he didn’t find this ring. I love my job because every ring has a story and I along with the other members of The Ring Finders get to help continue those story and at the same time find a lost Smile.
If you have lost something and need it found save yourself the time and stress and have The Ring Finders come out and find it for you!
