Lost wedding ring at Bethune Beach, Fl……Found!

After an evening with my wife and some friends on the beach, tossing the football around, I realized after we had left that my wedding ring was no longer on my finger. To say panic set in, would be an understatement as this was the ring my wife and I had picked out together just over a year ago and she had put it on my finger at our wedding shortly after. After searching as thoroughly as possible, all hope was lost. How could I replace something that was irreplaceable? Turns out I wouldn’t have to! Thanks to some quick searching online by my wife, we found Mike’s information and I quickly contacted him. You would have thought his services would cost more than the ring I lost by the amount of detailed questions he asked, trying his best to narrow down the most likely location of my ring. After a few emails back and forth late in the evening, Mike put my mind at ease and said he was on the job. I thought, surely this was a lost cause, a ring lost on the beach….good luck with that! But Mike didn’t need luck, he’s a skilled veteran and within an hour of setting foot on the beach, he recovered my lost ring and saved my wife and I both heartache and money. There is no way I can thank him enough for his services. He’s living proof that miracles happen and sometimes you have to lose something to find them. As I told him before I left, I’d hoped I’d never need his services again, but you can bet that if the occasion ever arises, I’ll be calling Mike, The Lord of the Rings, to bring my precious back home to me!”

Lost Wedding Ring in Iowa snow – Found

I bought a metal detector a few years back and my son and I would use it to find coins and other objects.  Well, a couple years ago, one of my fellow Firefighters texted me about 2 months after his wedding and asked if I had a metal detector. My response was, yes, where did you lose your wedding ring. His response was “How did you know! In my yard” Well it was the middle of winter with temps around 0 and 2 feet of snow on the ground, I was pretty sure he wasn’t going to be digging any treasures. Seems his ring was a little loose on his finger and he was outside and he went to throw something away from his house and his ring went with it. I went to his house and by this time it was almost dark and he was in a panic and was scared to tell his wife. I started by asking what he was doing and kind of reenacted what he did and started the search. Within 5 minutes we both heard the distinctive tone from the detector and he looked down and picked up his ring with my pin-pointer. He was relieved that he could go back into the house.

Since then I have wondered about a metal detecting service but never really pursued it until I found Ring Finders and just signed up. Give me a call and let me try and help you find your lost items.

Lost Wedding Ring in Sand at Laguna Beach, CA. .. Found

Shaun lost his platinum wedding ring in the sand at Laguna Beach, CA. He had been on the dry sand when he brushed some sand off and his ring went flying into the sand. After 3 hours of trying to find it he gave up. Returning home he found my contact information online. Shaun called me at 7pm asking me if I could help him the next morning. I told him it was not wise to wait. He agreed to meet me a half hour later and before 8pm I was able to locate his platinum wedding band.

It wasn’t an easy search, because there was several deep metal signals that interfered with my search. We were lucky to pull out the platinum ring signal which read 12-04 on my CTX detector.

Shaun and his wife Elaine were totally surprised and grateful to have their ring back where it belongs. Everybody slept well that night. We were all back home by 9 pm.

Diamond Wedding Ring Lost at Venice Beach, CA…Found and Returned.

Two days ago I received an email late in the evening from Raja regarding his wedding ring. He had been at the beach, and while brushing the sand off of his hands against his pants, his wedding ring flew off. He and his wife looked for it but were unable to find it. Later he was searching the internet and located The Ring Finders site where he found me. I emailed him back asking that he call, but he was unable to make the call until the next morning. He called, and I asked my standard questions, finding out that the loss was in a place that the County beach cleaning machines would not be going over, so I felt good about a recovery. I arranged to meet his wife at the spot yesterday morning because Raja had to work.

When I got there Raja’s wife Harpreet and her brother in law met me and took me to the area of the loss. After a brief question and answer session, I proceeded to search for the lost ring. I began at the furthest possible area away from the loss and worked my way back to where Raja had been standing when cleaning his hands. It was when I got to his previous position that I received a good signal, dug, and had his ring in my scoop. The ring had not gone very far, but had flown far to the left of his original position. I pulled it out and showed it to Harpreet who gladly identified it as her husband’s ring. She told me they had been married just 2 years, so the ring was a fresh token of their commitment to each other. Needless to say she was very happy to be able to go home and give it back to Raja. They asked that I not use pictures of them in the blog, so you get me with the ring instead. A nice day of smiles!

I received a post from David Boyer, a Ring Finder, about a man who lost his ring in the snow. David was out of town so he referred the recovery to me. I called Ian H. to make arrangements to find his ring and get his story.

He was helping a neighbor push his car out of the driveway when he slipped and fell hands first into the snowbank. He felt his ring come off and began to search the heavy deep snow to no avail. Ian went on the internet and found a ring search site and posted his lost ring and David got on it immediately.

Ian and his wife Kim are newly weds and have recently lost her father so the recovery of the ring was a happy event to them.

My brother Doug and I arrived at their home and immediately began our search. The driveway next door was the scene where the ring was lost and Ian was concerned that the snow plow might have moved the ring down the road several feet. While we search with our detectors at the edge of the drive I suggested that Ian and Kim who were watching us get a shovel and pull some of the snow into the street and we will follow them down with our detectors. Kim grabbed a rake and made a few passes and all of a sudden she yelled out “here it is!!!”. With smiles on their faces and hand shakes all around we took some pictures for our book of smiles and went on our way. It was a pleasure to help out in a small way to recover his new wedding ring.

Platinum ring lost, found and returned from roadside! Big Island, Hawaii.

It was a long drive out to Kawaihae for me this morning from Kona – but it a much longer time for Ethan who had lost his ring after running out of gas a week ago.
Having returned to his car with gas, he managed to spill it all over his hands and shook them. When he did, his platinum ring flew off his finger to who-knows-where! It was instantly lost.
He’d gone back to the area numerous times and scoured the area with his hands in the dirt and grass, used a rake to hopefully bring it up and even gone at night with a flashlight in case he could see a glint off his platinum ring. No luck.
When he called me, he was doubtful I’d find it – even doubtful it had been lost there. “I’m 90% sure this is the spot I lost it…” he’d said.
I looked across the road and imagined it rolling to the other side. Trucks and traffic flew by.
Ethan had to go back to work at a local restaurant so I got out my Minelab Excalibur II and started immediately looking. Lots of trash at roadside – even in remote areas – nails, bottle caps, pull tabs, aluminum cans and …. then a platinum ring! It was so well ‘hidden’ under the dirt that even when it was in my hand and I was waving it over the detector coil, I couldn’t see it. I emptied the handful of dirt in my hand on a spot without grass or trash and poked through the sand and stones. There it was – lost no more!
I drove over to Ethan’s work and walked in with his ring in hand! A good day’s work – and a small stretch of roadside cleaned of trash!

iPhone 7 Lost at Manhattan Beach, CA, Found and Happily Returned.

I received an email from Amber last Tuesday morning asking if I might be able to help her find her iPhone. She had lost it 2 days prior at the beach, and was unable to find it. I asked her to give me a call, so I could discuss the loss with her, and she called right away. She told me that the “Find My iPhone App” said it showed it was still there the day after it was lost, and the area of the loss I knew was not a high trafficked area, so the possibilities of a recovery increased more. She let me know that she was at work, and could meet me later in the day, but I felt I should get on this search right away and asked for all the specifics. After getting all the information, I was on my way.

When I got to the spot, I was relieved to see that the area had not been cleaned by the County sifting machines, so I knew the possibilities of a recovery increased. I began my search, and after about 4 passes, and a few coins and other metal objects, I got a very strong overloading signal. I brushed the sand away with my foot so as to not damage her phone, if that was what I had found, and about an inch under the surface, there it was. I emailed Amber to let her know I found the phone, and she asked that I provide a picture. She was very excited that I was able to help, so we arranged to meet after she got off of work, When we met she and her friend were so happy. Amber told me she had already decided to buy a new phone, but that would have been a burden because she was to start nursing school soon, and really could not afford to spend the extra money. So happy to have made Amber’s day last week!

SCUBA Jeff’s mobile phone Samsung Galaxy S8 in Lake Washington

Received a call from a gentleman that while walking on a dock where his boat was moored had his mobile phone slip out of of his pocket and into the shallow waters of Lake Washington. I meet up with Jeff and he showed me the precise location of where the phone went into the water. Being his prime business phone he was eager to have it recovered.

His Samsung Galaxy S8 is a water resistant phone keeping us  hopeful that it may still work. Even if it the phone was totally flooded Jeff needed the phone to utilize the lost / damage insurance policy. After a bit of searching with a metal detedtor the phone was found in the precise location of where it fell off the dock. To our surprise it was still dry inside and operating as intended. Having been found in five foot of water saved the phone for sure. Another fun recovery on a cold wet Seattle day…

White Diamond Ring Lost! Fort Saskatchewan AB, Alberta

I received a call from Amanda requesting my assistance to locate a very special ring that she had lost on Saturday evening.  Amanda and her friends spent a good part of Sunday afternoon looking for her ring but with no luck. She then decided to goggle “Lost Ring” and my name popped up. She called me I agreed to meet her this evening.  Within five minutes of meeting we found her ring in the snow.   She could not believe that her ring was back on her finger in such a short time.
