Gold Wedding Band Lost a Second Time…FOUND AGAIN by Christina McCree in Huntsville, Alabama!

On Saturday morning (February 24th, 2024), I received a call from Susan stating her husband, George, had done it again!  George lost his gold wedding band a second time while working in the mulch beds.  George is now my second repeat client.  He had lost his ring in March 2023 doing the same thing and had used my metal detecting service to find it.  Susan told George that she thought they could find it, but George said no, we’re calling Christina, lol.  Thanks for trusting my service!  I was free the rest of the day, so I got ready, grabbed my gear, and headed out to meet George at his home in Huntsville, Alabama.

I met George about an hour and a half after Susan’s call.  He showed me the area he had been working in that morning.  He said he didn’t think it was cold enough for his ring to slip off, but then said he guessed he was wrong.  The area was pretty small, and George knew he had the ring on when he started.  I had my notes from the last time I found George’s ring.  It was a 25 on the Nox 900, so I knew exactly what I was looking for.  I got out my Minelab Equinox 900 and started my search.  About 2 minutes in, I had a shallow 25 beeping on my metal detector.  I told George, “I think we have it!”  I bent down, moved a piece of shrubbery, and there was George’s gold wedding band!  Thank you, Lord God!!!

George was so thankful to have it back!  I told him that I enjoy seeing him, but hopefully there won’t be a third time under these circumstances, lol.  We took some photos, and I was on my way home.  This actually might’ve been my quickest recovery.  I think it was under 2 minutes.  It definitely makes up for the longer, tougher searches.  Looking forward to the next adventure…

Yellow Gold Crucifix Lost under Stilted House, Found and Returned Surfside Beach SC

On Friday, March 8th, I received the following message from Corey, “Hi, I have a house in Surfside Beach. One of the guests has dropped a necklace and the crucifix came off of it and can’t be located. Checking to see if you’re interested in trying to find it.” I responded saying “Sure. Call me,” and sent him my number. When he called he gave me a few more details. He mentioned that when the crucifix was dropped on the concrete it bounced, possibly in an area beside the driveway. I told him I’d be there in 30-45 minutes. I also asked him to text me the address, which he did.

On the drive down, Corey sent me a picture of the area, with a red circle around the particle spot where the crucifix had been dropped. When I pulled into the driveway, I got a better idea of the possibilities of what I needed to do. First, I did a visual of the entire area, looking through 2 boxes of kid’s shovels, buckets and other beach toys with no luck. Next I looked in and around a golf cart, including releasing the brake to move the cart and looked under the tires. Still nothing, I pulled my Gold Bug with a 6” coil out of the car and started detecting the ground holding a row of trees, mulch and dead leaves beside the driveway. I pulled out about a dozen roofing and siding nails, pull tabs and bottle caps, but still no crucifix. I went to the neighbor’s yard and did the back side of the tree line. I moved over to the opposite side of the driveway and checked the grass area. I was out of ideas, so I grabbed my Equinox 800, lowered the sensitivity and researched the tree line. I called Corey and told him I hadn’t had any luck. He told me that Kim, who is the owner of the cleaning company that cleans the rental, was coming over and would be there in about 10 minutes. I told him I’d wait.

When Kim arrived she told me that in the process of cleaning the house, she had found the chain and crucifix among other items the renters had left behind. In the process of moving the items downstairs to the garage she set everything down on the seat of the golf cart. At that time the crucifix was still on the chain. When she picked up everything to move it to the garage is when she noticed the crucifix was gone. Her co-worker said she heard something hit the concrete and saw it bounce into the tree line. The two searched everywhere and couldn’t find the crucifix, hence I was called. She opened up the garage to show me where she had set everything down. Not sure if when she picked up the items, the crucifix fell out or not but we both saw the crucifix lying on the garage floor. Woo-Hoo!!!! I can’t remember if Kim said the owner lived in Michigan or Wisconsin but she was going to get the crucifix back home soon.

Lost gold and diamond ring found – Marco Island

While spending the day with his family in Marco Island and playing in the waves with his son, Thomas realized his gold band was no longer on his finger.  After spending the afternoon looking with a metal detector without any luck, his wife took to the internet and posted the loss.  A few responses came back “you gotta call Mark!”  Well his wife found Mark, and I was down there with an hour searching.  Well so were several other metal detectors too that had seen the post.  The rest is now history, found the ring in the abyss, and now their story continues.  Remember it’s only list until you call…God does hear and answers prayers! 🙏🏻🎉

Lost Car Keys after midnight Laguna Beach found and returned

** Jazi was at the beach late at night with his friend. After he walked off the beach he realized he must have dropped his car keys somewhere between where he was sitting on the beach and his parked car. 

I received a call from Jazi about 2am in the morning. I knew he was desperate and was willing to go help him except he said he was at Torrey Pines State Beach. Too far of a drive for a search that hour of the night. The next morning he called me back explaining he was actually at Victory Beach which is in the city of Laguna Beach. It is only a 15 mile drive for me. 

He was at work when I talked to him and wasn’t able to meet me at the location. To make things worse, his car was still at the location.

No problem for me to do a search at this beach without him to show me a possible area of the loss. He was able to explain where he had been. I know this beach very well so I was able to get there and find his keys. 

Now, without a way to pick up his keys, I volunteered to bring the keys to his work place. The good news is later that day his  friend took him to pick up his car before it was towed or ticketed.

Ring lost in Chula Vista found

Dania tossed a handful of items toward some bushes, which accidentally included her diamond ring. It should have been in a very small area, but, try as she and Jeff tried, it couldn’t be found. An online search found TheRingFinders.com and my contact info. Jeff called asking for help and we arranged to meet at the site the next afternoon. I arrived on time with my wife and a friend who also detects. A quick search with my large coil over and around the suspected thorny bush reveal nothing. Pin pointer time! My friend and I armed with a couple of pin pointers started poking inside the bush and as close to the ground as we could without getting totally impaled on the thorns. Only some scrap metal was being found when Jeff offered to go get a broom handle to tape to one of our pin pointers so we could probe further inside the bushes and reduce the number of our battle scars. I asked him to move his truck from in front of where we were working so we could expand the search area without interference from all that metal close by. Soon after moving his truck, Dania spotted the ring sitting right on top  of the asphalt in the parking spot next to where their truck had been parked! The ring must have hit something and ricocheted 90 degrees over to that spot. Doesn’t matter how the ring was found, just that it was found. Everyone happy now! A pleasure to meet you folks and thank you for the reward!

Dan and his family were enjoying the first day of vacation in Ocean City, NJ when his wife Christy lost her ring.

She took the ring off to apply sunscreen to her grandson and forgot it was on her knee. Later that evening Christy realized that it was missing. Dan reached out to me the next day and we met up on the beach. I started searching the area and the ring was scooped out of the sand shortly after!

Engagement ring recovered in Green Bay snow.

In early January, I received a message about a lost engagement ring from Emma, who was playing in the snow at night at her future mother-in-law’s home, and it slipped off somewhere in the yard next to the driveay .   They had shoveled the snow aside the next day and looked carefully, but could not find it.     I brought my trusty Garrett AT Pro, but decided to teach Emma how to use an analog Tesoro Umax, and perhaps recruit another potential metal detectorist to the hobby!   Sure enough, after a few surface coins popped out, she found a clear “ringy” signal.  I brushed away the snow, and revealed a beautiful emerald and gold ring that took my breath away.    I could see why she was concerned!   Her beautiful ring was back on her finger and she and her fiancé were relieved.

Lost Gold Wedding Band at 4 Seasons Resort Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

This ring find began as I was exiting the 4 Seasons Lagoon at Ko Olina Resort.  A gentleman named Matt had asked my bud Terry if I had found a wide gold wedding ring and not knowing, he told the gentleman to ask me as I was exiting the water.  So Matt who was on his Honeymoon from Paso Robles, California approached me as I was exiting the water and asked if I had found a wide gold wedding band while I was hunting the lagoon.  He described perfectly the 18K Gold Band I just found about 30 minutes earlier in chest deep water.  To be sure it fit him perfectly and he recognized and described a gash the ring had in it.  Matt’s lovely bride Megan joined us and told me they thought it would never be found after losing it the day before.  They were thinking it would be out to sea by now.  Thankfully the lagoons are calm and most rings just sink to the bottom and stay put.  Matt and Megan were very appreciative and happy their Honeymoon was back on a high note. THREE Lost Rings Found in the Snow! Morris, CT

Three rings were lost while Emi played in the snow with her kid – Morris, CT.

From Emi:

“I lost three rings. An engagement ring, a wedding band, and an eternity ring. They are all gold with some diamonds. I was sledding with my child, and luckily for photos, we narrowed it to a small timeframe where the areas could be indoors but most likely out in the snow.”

A photo in the main bedroom at around 9:55 AM captured all three rings still on Emi’s finger. Then, a video of Emi and her kid being pulled around on a sled in the front yard shows the rings were missing by 10:06 AM. Emi also told me she fell in the snow, so there was enough outdoor activity that I felt confident the lost rings could be outdoors. I began searching the snow, marking the areas I covered. This property was old, so there was lots of metal in the ground from centuries of occupation. Signals were ringing through my metal-detecting headphones every couple of feet. The high volume of signals complicates a snow search because, with snow on the ground, you cannot just look down and see if the rings are there. I had to dig through the snow to check every signal. It was an emotional rollercoaster for the spectators because every time I bent over to check a signal, it caused some excitement. Then, they were disappointed when they realized the signal was buried under the ground but could still ring through the inches of snow. I eventually heard a signal and pushed the snow out of the way with my foot, exposing a circular, shiny item. It was a thick gold wedding band! The engagement and eternity rings were only a short distance away in another snow pile. Emi and her family were jumping with joy to have the gold rings back!

From Emi:

“Rarely do I leave a review, but I was so impressed with Keith’s quick find. Took him 30 mins to find 3 rings I had lost in the snow. I was out sledding with my kid after a fresh set of snow and of course, didn’t think to wear gloves. It wasn’t until much later that I noticed my rings missing, and after going through photos, we narrowed it down to a small timeframe. We bought a metal detector and searched out in the snow to no avail. I emailed Keith, and he got back to me early next morning with news that he could come in a few days as he was booked. Due to the snow, it seemed like it was a busy time. He came that Sunday and gave me a 2-hour window with an approximate eta. He showed up on time with a very serious metal detector and went straight to work after asking a few questions. He’s a really nice guy with a warm but professional demeanor, and I would hire him again in a heartbeat if it happened again. He’s 100% legit and worth every penny. Lost Ring in Wooded Brush Found! Bridgewater CT

A ring was lost while helping remove a tree limb from the roadway in Bridgewater, CT.

From Nate:

“I felt the ring come off at a substantial speed due to my hand being wet. I know exactly where I was standing, which direction I was facing, and which direction (roughly) the ring went. I heard two distinct “ting” sounds behind me before it went silent, and I turned, but not in time to see where it went or how far. We searched and searched, careful not to disturb the scene too much, and even used a metal detector. We did not go more than a few feet into the wooded brush and are admittedly novices with the detector. The ring is 95% palladium with a satin exterior and chrome-like interior that is quite shiny. We tried searching at night as well as day using a flashlight. Very frustrating that we haven’t found it.”

Nate’s wife found me online, and we worked out a schedule. Nate walked me around the roadside and demonstrated the scenario with another ring (junk ring). The brush and leaves in the wooded area along the road were deep, so a newbie with a metal detector would understandably have trouble finding this ring. My wife and I found multiple targets around the wooded area and even found the neighbor’s property marker. Deep under the leaves, I finally found the lost palladium ring with my XP Deus metal detector. Nate was shocked because they had already spent hours and days across a couple of weeks searching for the lost ring, with no luck. The ring was finally back on Nate’s finger!

From Nate:

“I lost my wedding band and spent several hours, over several days, searching for it. I knew exactly where it was and even bought a metal detector to try and find it. When all hope was lost, I turned to Keith. It was more of a process than I thought, but not more than the ring was worth to me, so, in the end, it was absolutely the best decision.
