When Bethany awoke early Saturday morning to check in at work, it is doubtful she could imagine the absurdly frustrating events that would play out once she arrived.  The parking lot was near empty. She backed into a nice space close to the building, collected her things and got out of the vehicle.  Upon closing the door the preposterous action occurred.  The keys she held in her hand while shutting the car door were flung from her hands and directly into a bush.

Bethany, a very sweet and sensible young woman, had no doubt she would recover these items quickly and be on her way.  Four hours later, after combing and climbing through the large bush, she still had not located her keys. That is when a quick google search connected her to theringfinders.com page.  She found that I was the closest individual that might be able to assist her using metal detecting equipment to search for the wayward keys.

I would not make it there for about an hour, but once I arrived I met young Bethany and the giant bush next to her vehicle.  After a brief description of the events that took place and her previous actions, I provided her with a pin pointer and I, myself, started scanning the top and sides of the vegetation with the Equinox.  After 10 minutes or so, I caught a signal very near to the door she closed.  It was at about chest height and a visual inspection revealed her set of keys within the bush.  We had made the recovery!!!

Thanks for the call Bethany!  I’m so glad we put an end to your little nightmare, and I can only hope your day got way better moving forward!

Lost Gold Earring Stud w/Diamonds found in Eastpointe Michigan

Wrestlefest……

….was not what Darriss was hoping for while visiting his mom on Mother’s Day, but after some hanging out with family, he and his sons walked out to get some gifts out of the car. Before getting to the car, they all started lightly pushing and shoving, eventually ending up with everyone on the ground rolling around on the grass. Once back in the house, someone noticed one of his earrings missing. Now it was dark and there was no way to search. We met today and I quickly started to grid search the grass area, splitting it into two halves. Finishing the right half produced nothing, so starting on the left half I was hoping that the earring would be there. Getting closer to the house I got a nice solid signal. Reaching thru the thick grass revealed his earring! A quick text to his phone saying I got his opponent pinned down on the mat had him running out of the house! Thrilled that the victory didn’t take too long, he was back on the road with his sons to celebrate the championship!

Lost Ring Navarre Beach – FOUND!!!

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

It would be great if every Saturday morning could start out like this one. This one actually started out yesterday with a phone call from Mary from Ohio. Mary explained that their family had been coming to Navarre for decades but this trip had started out on a sour note. That morning her son-in-law was in the gulf throwing the football back and forth when suddenly he realized that his wedding ring was no longer on his hand. To make matters worse, Jason is left handed so when he threw the ball he could have flung the ring off just about anywhere. When Mary told me everything, I explained how I could help and she said that she would call me right back after she talked to her daughter Diana. I was already planning my trip when I got a text saying that they had decided not to look for the ring. I was shocked and asked why, Mary explained that both her husband and Jason felt like there was no way it would be possible to find the ring in that huge body of water and they didn’t want to get their hopes up. I thought to myself that I knew I could find it but I hoped that my words didn’t get in the way of God’s plans for this young couple. After a long conversation, my wife laughed and said that it was different that I was the one trying to convince the other person to let me find the ring. 😊 I must have said something right though because Mary asked me to come the next morning. I drove to Navarre this morning and got there at 7am.  I got to meet everyone and quizzed Jason about the ring and explained what I was going to do. I told him that he was officially allowed to be optimistic now and he gave me a sheepish grin. I waded out about waist deep in the water and started my search. I made a couple of passes and heard the telltale sound of gold. I saw Jason and Diana and Mary all watching me expectantly as I very gently scooped up the ring. I got a huge smile and started wading that way. Diana rushed down to the water’s edge and said that she didn’t even believe it yet. When I presented the scoop and she pulled Jason’s ring out she burst into tears. I asked Jason if he was optimistic yet and he told me that I was amazing. I’d say that’s a good turn of events for the day. I love helping people like this! 😃

I received a phone call that Bill had lost his wedding ring while working in his backyard. I could not go out immediately but made arrangements to go and search for the ring. Upon my arrival Bill explained that he lost his ring while doing yard work and was cleaning grass out from the deck of the lawn mower when his ring flew off. The search area was pretty standard, rear portion of the yard bordering some high grass and weeds. I got started and on my third pass in the search area I struck gold! Bill was working on his back porch when I shouted for him to come down. Bill was very excited and happy to have his ring back. I was glad to be able to help and as always it was great to meet another kind and generous person and return his lost ring.

Ring Found on Golf Course in Holland, MI.

  • from Holland (Michigan, United States)
Some days you wake up and wonder what the world will provide you this day, well, this was a special day that I will remember for a long time.
Got a text from Holly last night that said she lost her wedding ring about 3 weeks ago on the golf course. She had the ring in her front pocket along with her golf tees. She figured the ring came out of her pocket when she retrieved a golf tee. Gregg my hunting partner was under the weather so I had to make this trip by myself. I met Holly and her husband, Al, at the golf course and they had a golf cart that we used to visit all the golf tees on that 9 hole course. First tee box I got a good signal but it was deep in the grass and I bypassed it thinking it was too deep for the ring-did not have a digger with me. We searched the remaining tee boxes with no luck.
On a whim, I said, lets visit that first tee box again and let me check that good signal. I used my car key to probe in the thick grass and out popped this gold ring. I was thinking at least we did find a ring because it did not look like a ladies wedding ring. I showed it to Holly and her mouth and eyes opened wide and she said, “this is my ring”!! Sometimes miracles do happen.
This ring was her Dad’s ring which made it very special. Her original wedding ring was stolen in California years ago and she replaced it with her Dad’s ring. Also, Holly and Al will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on May 26th of this month-good timing. And to top it off they used to live in Markesan, Wis which is close to my hometown.

Newlyweds Wedding Ring Lost On Surf City Beach Found The Next Day

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

I woke up around 4:00 am and checked my business messages.  Just after 1:30, Caroline informed me her husband, of almost 6 months, Edson had lost his gold wedding band, the prior afternoon, somewhere on the beach.  I later discovered she also posted on a social media group in the area about the lost ring with a description of the ring but thankfully, not the precise location of the loss.  Later that morning, we made plans to search in the afternoon when the high tide was subsiding because she thought it may have come off while they were walking in the shallow water.  Edson was very good at remembering details that narrowed the search area and within 10 minutes, a very strong signal on a beach that wasn’t providing too many signals proved to be Edson’s lost ring.  The couple was in disbelief that it was found so quickly!

2 Rings (Gold Class Ring w/Black Onyx and Gold Ring) Lost at Holden Beach NC – Found and Returned

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

Lose a special ring or other sentimental piece of jewelry, cellphone, keys or other metal object. Call or Text Jim Wren ASAP at 843-655-5889.

On Tuesday at 6:28 p.m., I received the following text message. “Hi! My name is Leah. I am in Holden Beach until Thursday with some friends on a breach trip! We just graduated college and I lost my class ring in the sand. Was wondering if you were in the area/available to help me search??” I tried calling her and it went to voice mail. So, I responded to her text asking her to call me. When she called, she told me she had lost 3 rings but her and her friends were able to find 2 of them. She knew the area and they were lost in the soft sand. I told her it should be a piece of cake to find it and I could be there in 45 minutes. She agreed and said she’d pin the area and send it to me. So, I grabbed my 2 Equinox 800s (one as backup) and headed out.

When I arrived, I called her and she said she’d be there in about 5 minutes. She told me her rings were a little to the right of the beach access and straight out but not past the drop off (erosion). When she arrived, I was already on the beach doing an east/west grid search. We discussed the area and how she lost her rings. She moved me further to the west and stated that her rings were in a bag that had a hole in it, unbeknownst to her until she realized it later. She had marked the 2 spots where the other two rings were found, which helped. So, I refocused and changed me grid search to a north/south search. Within 4 grid lines I hit a little gold ring. Not what I was looking for, or so I thought. About 2 steps away, I hit another good signal and pulled her Gold Class ring w/black onyx out of the sand. I held it up and asked, “Is this yours?” She came running over with her hands over her mouth and said, “That’s it!” While we were standing there talking, I told her I had found another little gold ring. That’s when she told me she had actually lost 4 rings, but really wasn’t concerned about the 4th ring. She also said she wasn’t sure if it was gold or not. When I got the original signal, the tone and numbers from the machine indicated gold. But nonetheless she was thrilled she had all 4 of her rings back. She also told me she had just gotten her class ring in the mail a few days earlier. She was so happy and excited to get her rings back.

Leah – Thank you for trusting me to help find your lost treasures. Enjoy the rest of your vacation and have a safe trip home. Best of luck to you in your future!

Important Keys Lost In Cape Carteret Poppy Field Found With Metal Detector

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

CAPE CARTERET, NC

Char wrote… “On a pretty May day I sat out to take some pictures of my sweet bulldog who was turning 11. We went to the field of poppies in Cape Carteret. Unfortunately while getting all the cute shots, I dropped my keys somewhere in the field. Talk about needle and haystack, after looking for an hour and the help of a very kind Good Samaritan it became clear I wasn’t going to find them. I had car keys, house keys, storage keys — everything on that key chain. I knew all I needed was a metal detector. That’s where Crystal Coast Ring Finders came in. I called Steve and he came straight over. We began searching and within 10 minutes he found them. Yay!!

Rome (Maine) lost i phone

Received a call from Warren who found me through Ringfinders concerning a lost phone.  He stated he placed an ipad and phone on his car roof top then left before retrieving them. He realized it a mile or so down the camp road. The ipad was still there but no phone. He immediately started searching.A short time later received a notice on the ipad that his phone had triggered a 911 call. The sheriff dept checked the area out and no accident. The phone tower triangulation address did not exist and was accurate only within hundreds of yards. After two days calling the phone day and night (driving the camp road with no lights) He and his neighbor still had not found it. When I arrived I started at the beginning where the phone was placed on the roof and began a slow search in my truck. The leaves are hard this time of years and a cell phone won’t bury itself under them . I focused on any object or terrain feature that could hide a phone. They had already walked the whole route twice. After 20 or so stops and investigations, brush piles ,culverts, fallen evergreen branches,  I found an area with 6 to 8 inch shrubs that the leaves were leaning against. Sweep them with the metal detector and found the phone. It was 3/4 buried under the leaves but not visible from the road. It was also well short of the 911 search area. Warren and I were both happy for sure.  The phone still had 41 percent battery after 50 plus missed calls!
