Lost Platinum Ring In The Leaves Found In Rochester Hills Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

She Couldn’t Beleaf Her Eyes!

The pictured lady’s husband and children were enjoying a typical Detroit area autumn weekend this past Saturday, raking the final drop of leaves into piles, jumping and rolling around in them, but while enjoying the cool crisp air filled with the scent of orange, brown, red and yellow foliage his ring came off.
Thoughts of not finding it after they searched started to take root, with many disagreenments on where it could be, as he had to take a leaf of absence today on a business trip. Taking a leaf of faith she branched out to seek help. When we talked I assured her that I fernly beleaf that I will find it, there was no treety to sign and all that was needed was a qualitree search, and just leaf the work to me. Pushing my electronic rake thru the various piles I got a nice signal in a deep patch of leaves.
Brushing them aside, as the platinum ring came into view we both exclaimed…Son of a birch! There it is!… as she stared in disbeleaf!
After a few pics, hot chocolate and enjoying turning over a new leaf I said, well I’ll leaf you alone now, there’s not mushroom for me to contreebute.

Lost in Snow a 22K Yellow Gold Recovered in Schaumburg, Illinois.

  • from Las Vegas (Nevada, United States)
Contact:

The first snow of the season, although a bit early, creates another opportunity to help someone. Received a call that his wife had lost her 22K gold wedding band while walking in the first snow of the season. Even though it was late afternoon, they wanted me to come. I figured maybe 2 hours before sunset, so I was a little concerned.

I arrives at 3:58 and left at 4:10. Not a bad hunt! The husband had a similar ring, so I was able to get a reading. Her name was in raised letters, so I will not show that. I used my AT Gold detector with a large coil. As you can see this was not a small thin ring!! Usually in my experience, gold rings ring up in the 44-55 range. This ring, because of the 22K, rang up in the 69-75 range. Just a note for AT Gold users.

Lost Gold wedding ring recovered from yard, South Bend, Indiana

  • from Granger (Indiana, United States)

George contacted me a few days ago about his unfortunate situation of losing his cherished gold wedding ring. He said that he had mowed most of his yard, unloaded a few bags worth of grass clippings and then noticed it was missing when almost done mowing. He was unsure when the ring went missing and assumed it may have fallen inside one of the three bags of wet grass or in one of three areas where he recalled taking the glove off. He checked inside the glove, attempted searching through one of the bags of wet grass, but realized a metal detector may be the answer. He turned to google to search for the possibility of renting a metal detector. He also considered buying an inexpensive detector, but then realized even if he did either, he wouldn’t know how to use it anyhow. He came across the TheRingfinders.com website, quickly found my information and had me on my way when our schedules meshed.
I searched the bags of grass and the areas where he had taken his gloves off, with no luck, which meant searching the whole yard knowing there was a chance the ring got mowed over and possibly shot to who knows where by the riding mower.
Typical of most yards, there were several shallow targets to deal with, a sprinkler system throughout the whole yard, buried yard lighting wires, edging stakes and buried phone/cable lines in the back yard.
I opted for the larger 15″ coil on my Equinox 800 detector, which makes it hard to miss much of anything when covering a large area like a yard.
Knowing it was going to be just laying in some totally random spot, I had my fingers crossed I’d come across it quickly, a little luck is always welcome and it happened pretty quick, considering.
Got a banging nice surface signal, started checking it with my pinpointer and saw that fantastic color of Gold nestled under the thick blades of grass in the front yard.
George was so happy that he gave me a big hug and when I asked him if it was ok to get some pictures, he posed for the camera, giving his missing ring a big ole kiss. He said his wife put that ring on his finger in August of 63 and that he couldn’t thank me enough.

Diamond Ring found in Corn Box at the Goebberts Farm & Garden Center in South Barrington, IL

  • from Las Vegas (Nevada, United States)
Contact:

So this is my Second call out to a corn pit this year. This was at the Goebberts Farm in South Barrington, Illinois. The owner could not have been more accommodating.

A woman had been playing with her child and fell. The ring came off as she was trying to get up. I can tell you, I fell myself on several occasions during the hunt. I had to crawl over to the pole just to get up! These corn pits are the PITS!!

She had lost it on Sunday and I wasn’t able to hunt until Thursday. The ring sank to the bottom of the pit and I was lucky to recover it. I used my box like device to dig down toward the bottom. I used 2 detectors, a hand help pinpointer and a hand held plastic sand scoop to recover the ring. I am considering using a PI Machine to locate items that may be at the bottom of the corn kernels. She was embarrassed about losing it, so I will not post her photo.

I’m beginning to have a Love Hate relationship with Corn Pits!!

LOVE the money HATE the labor.

Most corn pits are open til October 31st, so maybe more searches will be forthcoming.

2 rings found in corn pit in Tinley Park, Illinois.

  • from Las Vegas (Nevada, United States)
Contact:

Received a call from a man who had lost his 14K wedding band while playing in a corn pit. He had me come out to look for it. Corn pits, for those who don’t know, is a structure, that is filled with corn kernels that people play in. They generally are about 2 feet deep and are very hard to walk in AND very difficult to hunt. As you dig for the lost item, the corn fills in the hole. Its a tough workout!! I devised a box to help prevent that filling in. I was able to find His ring in about 10 minutes. Thats because he called me soon after he lost it. The longer you wait, the deeper it goes and the harder it is to find.

Once I found his ring, the manager of the Odyssey Fun Farm, told me that a woman had also lost her Diamond wedding band the same morning. So I searched for that ring too. I found it within 30 minutes. The manager called the woman’s husband, and he came out with his daughter to retrieve it.
