Lost gold wedding ring recovered, Wall Lake, Orland Indiana

  • from Granger (Indiana, United States)

While searching for another lost gold ring for a guy, a neighbor lady mentioned that her husband had lost his gold wedding ring a couple years ago, out from their pier, while handing items from boat to boat. She said divers had searched for the ring, but no luck, it’s very weedy and a muck bottom area.
After findng many pull rings, lead sinkers, beer cans, foil balls and fishing lures, I got a clean sounding target that was also quite a trick to scoop up, due to the thick snaggy weeds. After about 5 tries, the target sound was no more, so I checked the scoop and long behold, a nice thick men’s gold band was in there.
Trudged over and let the lady know I had likely found her husband’s lost ring. Handed it over and sure enough, that was it and they were shocked that I had found it.

Lost gold wedding ring recovered, Wall Lake, Orland Indiana

Jude contacted me after losing his gold wedding ring that he’s been wearing for 37 years. He was visiting family at their lake cottage and playing volleyball in the water. Upon hitting the ball, his wedding band went missing. He thought it had fallen down near where he was standing. He contacted me, we made the arrangements for the search promptly.
The depth was from waist to chest deep, some weedy areas and the bottom had a thin layer of muck that clouds up quickly.
Searched and searched, round and round, trudged through the weeds, to no avail. I was sure the ring had went flying elsewhere, but Jude was confident it was near where he stood. I tried to expand my search zone, but it didn’t seem like that went over too well, so I kept over on the area he was thinking. AFter a long while, maybe a couple hours, I called it off and mentioned I’d maybe try again when I get by the area, so I could search further out, etc. He said that’d be no problem and I was on my way home to go to work soon after.
Decided to do some tests the next day. Went through the motions of hitting a volleyball, had a ring with some colored string tied to it, and measured the distance in paces. An average distance of 13-20 of my 3ft paces was constant.
Return trip, brought a hunting buddy and we started searching. AFter doing battle with more weeds, many other metallic targets, I moved into more shallow water and got a solid signal, about 18 paces from where Jude was when he lost the ring.
Bingo, potentially his ring, a nice gold band in the scoop with writing and some fancy on the outer part. But, another guy said he had lost a gold band there 20 years ago, so had to confirm with Jude if it was or wasn’t his. Thankfully upon texting, it was quickly confirmed, that “Lindy” was part of the inner engravings. Mission accomplished. Next-Day shipped it back to him in NC.

3 Lost Gold rings Recovered from the water, Lake Maxinkuckee, Culver, Indiana

  • from Granger (Indiana, United States)

Betsie messaged me late last night in regards to her 3 lost rings. She was playing catch with her son in the water, it was almost dark out. She said that as she was catching the football, she realized her rings had fallen off, in chest deep water. Her and her son frantically searched for the rings, with no luck finding any. She mentioned her son felt guilty, because they were playing catch and she had lost them doing so. Which made finding them even more important to me.
We made arrangements, although I had to work until 6am, I agreed to meet her at the location as early as I was able to. She showed me where they thought they were and I began searching. This spot is mostly target free, as it gets detected often, which was a concern, that someone else may get to them first.
After seraching the zone for like 20 minutes and seeing some craters, I was worried that maybe someone else had got them. I moved shallower than she described, did a pass and got a nice signal. ALso, had another signal near that, so likely it was the culprits. Gazing down at my search coil, I could see the edge of a ring, so I plucked that one with the scoop, then scooped the other. The second scoop was the main wedding ring, thankfully. Two down, one to go. Got another target signal just a foot away and scooped the wedding band ring also. The 3 rings all nice and close together made for a simple triple recovery today. She was thrilled and her husband likely was too.

How to find a lost cross with Metal Detector, Lavallette NJ, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

What would 4 young men do after their Stockton State College track meet, that’s right, go to the beach to have some fun and cool down in the pristine Jersey Shore Ocean waters. Just prior to going into the water, Brendan removed his cherished cross and chain, and clasped it around the loop on his hat for safe keeping. After they got out of the water, it was placed back around his neck, and just a few moments later, his friend noticed the cross was missing. Luckily his friend Jackson had told his mom Brenda, who was very familiar with NJ Ring Finder stories, from some of the local pages. Brendan, Jackson, and Luke had searched for quite a while without any luck, and that’s when the call came in to me for HELP. I arrived on the Lavallette beach just a short while later, got all the details and searched the entire spot without any luck. After they assured me it must be right there, I turned my metal detectors sensitivity almost as high as it would go, and on the first pass I received a very faint but steady signal, which was in fact, Brendan’s beautiful cross. Another happy ending to a fantastic beach day.

Lost and found diamond 18K gold wedding ring in Fenelon falls Ontario

Today’s recovery took me to Felenon falls/Bobcaygeon area. Received a text from Johnny about loosing his newly custom made diamond 18 K gold wedding band last weekend. Johnny had some diamonds from his late grandmother crafted into his new wedding band. He and his bride of only one month, were at a family cottage and went for a swim in the late evening and noticed that his wedding ring was missing at around 2AM. Retracing his steps and looking at selfies from the evening, he was pretty sure that the ring would be either under the dock, where they sat and watched a meteor shower for a while or in the water where he dove in a couple times. Desperate, he even had purchased a metal detector and detected around the property to see if the ring had fallen off during the evening. After meeting up at the cottage and getting oriented, I put on my Scuba gear and grabbed my underwater metal detector. Water being just over 12 feet deep, and after only about 15 minutes search, I was able to locate his ring in about one foot of silt. His reaction was priceless and heartfelt as I surprised him with his ring once I surfaced at the dock. Another great recovery. Life is good!

Lost White Gold with Diamonds Wedding & Engagement Rings at Honu Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began Friday, 26 July when I got a call from Katie from Bakersfield, California and was staying at the Ko Olina resort.  While enjoying the cool waters of the lagoon with family her white gold and diamonds wedding and engagement rings that were soldered together came off in about four feet of water and disappeared into the sand.  Since it was late afternoon I agreed to come back Saturday morning for the recovery.  When I arrived I started my grid search from the pictures Katie provided the night before.  After a thorough search and no ring Katie and I discussed following up Sunday with a scuba search since she was right at the slope that drops to 10 feet of water.  Sunday was very silty and the hunt again was unsuccessful as I couldn’t see my grid.  Katie was obviously sad and I told her don’t give up hope I just needed another chance on a calmer day and the use of my bright orange grid line.  That time came Tuesday so after work I headed to the lagoon for another scuba hunt.  It surely was calm with great visibility.  Thankfully there were very fee targets so I didn’t silt up the area.  Then in about 8 feet of water I got a booming #26 on the Manticore.  On the second wave of my hand over the target a beautiful ring exposed itself and the diamonds were sparkling in the afternoon sunlight.  Yes, finally!  I immediately showered off and went to my car to text Katie a pic as she had returned home to California.  Obviously she was ecstatic and as you can see it arrived a few days early and its back on her finger.  Much Aloha to Katie!

Lost and found huge gold wedding ring in Cloyne Ontario

My travels today took me to Cloyne area in Ontario. Received a phone call from Joan about her son Vince having dropped his huge white gold wedding band while swimming with the kids two days ago. The issue is that it was dropped at a rental cottage, about 30 feet away from the dock, where it is full of weeds and silt. The other issue is that the ring was sitting in about 6 to 7 feet of water. After sweeping most of the weeds away, with the detector, and removing all unwanted trash signals, I finally heard a very faint signal which turned out to be his ring. The ring had been pushed in deep into the silt. Four hours of searching which was well rewarded by Vince’s priceless reaction and that of his family as well. Great recovery. Life is good!

Lost Ring in the Gulf – Pensacola Beach – FOUND!!!

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

Late yesterday afternoon I got a call from Amanda. She was visiting from Wisconsin and had lost her platinum engagement ring out in the Gulf. They had looked for hours but weren’t able to find it and really wanted me to come before dark so they didn’t lose their spot on the beach.

My wife who is my good luck charm decided to come with me and we headed towards the beach.

When I got there, Amanda was with a big group of family. Some of them thought it was to the east and some to the west, some thought it was deeper and some shallower. Some had faith and some thought there was no way on earth I could find it. 😃 I love a challenge!

Amanda and a couple of family members came out with me and I got more information as I tried a few passes with no luck. I finally used a few of my tricks and changed areas based on what I heard from Amanda. Sure enough, I went just a little ways and to the astonishment of the family, I gently scooped up Amanda’s ring. 😃💍

Vacation saved!!!
