Cell Phone Lost in North Myrtle Beach SC, Found and Returned

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

On Wednesday, Sept 26th, I was out doing a little metal detecting on my own and not finding a whole lot. I suddenly got a solid signal with a VDI of 32 on my Equinox 800. Pretty sure I had found a cell phone, I carefully dug a big hole so I wouldn’t damage the phone. Sure enough, I found a Samsung Galaxy S8 about 4 to 5 inches deep in the wet sand. It wasn’t damaged, but it wasn’t powering up either. So, the phone either had a dead battery or was shot from being submerged.

When I got home I pulled the case off and cleaned it up. Not knowing how long it’d been in the sand, I didn’t want to plug it in and set it aside to dry out. In the meantime, I contacted an acquaintance at Verizon and gave him the IMEI number off the back of the phone. With that number, he can look it up and be able to see if the phone belongs to a Verizon customer. If he has a match, he’ll contact the owner and have them call me. I got lucky with this one. I hate not being able to find the phone’s owner, 1-I have no use for somebody else’s phone, and 2-I’m sure the owner has pictures or other information they don’t want to lose.

It was a week before Eric, from Maryland, contacted me about his phone, I had actually forgotten about it. I told him that I had taken his phone to Verizon and we weren’t able to power it up or charge it. However, we were able to get his SIM card out of the phone and we taped it to the front of the phone. He said he had a large number of contacts on the phone that he hadn’t backed up to the Cloud so he was very grateful his phone was found. I got his address and sent his phone home.

Ring found in front yard in Grand Rapids, MI.

  • from Holland (Michigan, United States)

Jason was working on the eaves of his house when his wedding ring came up missing.  He remembered shaking his hand to remove a glove and thought that was when the ring was lost.  I checked that area thoroughly with no results.  Then he mentioned he washed his hands by the side of the house with the water hose–and that is where I found his ring.  It was close to a woven wire fence which made detecting it a little tough by giving me mixed signals.  I had Jason using my pinpointer and digger to check on signals I received and he dug up a couple of coins and some other junk.  When I found his ring I covered it up with grass and called him over and let him recover the prize.  Jason’s neighbor and a friend were present and we all enjoyed the good news when the ring was found.

LOST ENGAGEMENT RING BATON ROUGE, LA. – FOUND

  • from Lafayette (Louisiana, United States)
Contact:

Taloria called late Saturday afternoon looking for help in finding her lost engagement ring. It was too late to drive the 1 ½ hrs to Baton Rouge and get any hunting in before dark, so we set up to meet early the next morning. When we arrived at the site, Taloria said she was on her way to a party with friends when she placed her engagement ring on her lap to apply some hand lotion. When they had parked in the grassy field, she exited the car not thinking about the ring. When she realized the ring was gone, she hunted in and around the car but did not find it. She then called us to help. Being she knew where the car was parked, the search area was small. The problems were tall grass and lots of trash (foil, pull tabs, drink containers, etc.). The hunt was very tedious.  Sid got tired of the constant up and down to check out hits. He got on his hands and knees and crawled around using the pin pointer. The technique worked. A hit with the pointer and glints of shiny metal proved to be the ring. Taloria (also Carrie and Sid) were very excited. After reuniting Taloria with her beautiful ring, lots of hugs, lots of smiles, and lots of pictures, we all headed home.

Special Ring Lost at Manhattan Beach, CA…Found and Joyfully Returned.

If you lose your ring or other metal item of value, don’t wait, time will work against you, please call as soon as possible. 310-953-5268

Later Monday night after I had found the ring at Hermosa Beach, Feliz called me about a ring she lost at Manhattan Beach. She had been there earlier in the day, and gone in the water, but before doing so, she wisely removed her ring and placed it in her jacket pocket. After coming out of the water, and forgetting that she had placed the ring in the jacket pocket, she moved things around, and left the beach. It wasn’t until a couple of hours later at the gym that she realized her ring was missing. Someone she knew had found The Ring Finders site on the internet, and told her about us, where she was able to contact me. She told me the ring had special meaning to her, and she would appreciated it I could help her find it. I said I would be there in 30-40 minutes.

When I got there we met, and Feliz took me down to the beach to show me where she had been. The problem was that it was a little after 8:00 PM, and in the darkness it was difficult for her to find any landmarks that could help her find exactly where she had been sitting, so she gave me a pretty good swath of beach to go over. I knew I would be finding quite a lot of things just because of so much sand to cover, and was hoping she would not get too discouraged with the search. As I anticipated I found a lot of bottle caps, foil, some coins, and other metal, but no ring. She looked at photos she had taken while she was at the beach earlier, and we were able to figure out approximately where she was sitting in regards to the towel line, so I expanded my search. For most of this time Feliz had been looking herself, and also coming over to see what I had found, but then she just went over and sat down. I have seen this level of discouragement set in on a long search, but I know from experience that until you have covered every base, the search is not over. I kept working out, away from the slope, when one more good signal. I scooped it up and there was the ring. I grabbed it and called out to Feliz. She jumped up and ran over. When she saw the ring, and identified it as the one she lost earlier, she immediately broke down with emotion. She explained that the ring was her father’s, a man she so adored, and he had passed from this life just one month ago; my heart broke. This ring was something of his that she would wear to allow her to be close to him, and to lose it…well, I just can’t put that into words. What a wonderful day Monday was, and some awesome smiles. So glad to have been able to help Feliz restore her joy.

Monday I received a call from Luis. He had lost his wedding ring at the beach. He and his wife Karla were walking back to the car, and were about to go up the steps to the pier when he asked for his ring that Karla had been holding for him. Playfully she tossed it, and it hit the railing of the steps, and went into the sand. I let them know I would be there right away.

When I got there I decided to bring my pin pointer (something I usually don’t use for beach ring hunts). I walked over to where the 2 of them were waiting, and they showed me the area, and I realized my detector might not work because the railings were large steel pipes which would throw off the detector. I fired the detector up trying to work in and out of the railings, too much metal. I turned the sensitivity down but still messing it up. I then told them it was time for “Plan B”. I pulled out the pin pointer, turned the sensitivity down to about half, and began to drag it through the sand in a tight grid. I continued until I reached the other side of the steps, and right under the other railing my pin pointer began to sound off. I reached in with my hand and recovered Luis’s ring. They were very happy, especially for the fact that they were going to be moving to Utah the next day. So happy to have saved the day for them!

San Diego how to find a Lost ring in Lake

  • from Carlsbad (California, United States)

TheRingFinders Metal detecting service helped recover a Lost wedding ring in Fallbrook Ca. OPEN NOW 24/7 CALL 760 889 2751

I received a call from Marissa regarding a Ring that was lost in a man made lake during a wedding the day before.
Uh-Oh! After a few questions & concerns we decided the best time to perform a search was 7:30am the next morning. She was able to get permission while I signed some insurance wavers needed because this specific location was a privately owned Lakeside Wedding estate at a remote area of Fallbrook Ca.

Upon arriving to the scene of the lost ring, I met Marissa and the Owner who had lent his precious heirloom Platinum/Gold band for the Wedding ceremony. They showed me where it was last seen falling into the abyssal lake along the edge amongst a solid boulder retaining wall. Fortunately I brought a tape measure & the depth was only chest to shoulder deep so I geared up my equipment then down into the murky mucky water I went seeking into fish poop and clam shells…!
Along with a first chilling morning in San Diego shakingly cold,,The biggest obstacle I had on this type of search is the area where the ring had flown off too had contained many large boulders from the edge of the water retreating out nearly 4 feet.

I began searching and was able too clear the targets in this short 6’X6’ zone with the first machine I used,A Whites Dual field waterproof Metal Detector.I did find 1 Quarter,2 dimes along with a bit of trash but no ring! So I switched Detectors with another pulse induction machine that is NOT hard wired & I Previously modified it for diving along with a small coil to get between nooks and crannies for these few calls.

“I do detect ambiguity in this section of the act” This search is still active⚠️…
Though, I may fail from giving up!

I quickly began the second grid search while hearing multiple signals of Non ferrous Metals in between and around the boulders using the tip of my 6 inch coil?! I then began scooping and scooping in Zero visibility water while dumping the piles out with help from the owner of the ring. After being certain I was chasing my tale on all these many potential targets lodged between the boulders, I decided to check the piles of black muck I scooped up and dumped up above..The first pile I swung over I could hear a conductive non ferrous metal when I unveiled it to be only just a penny. The second pile was the sound of a holy nickel….But it was only,,,,, Actually…..
THE PRECIOUS RING  😁 🙏 !

I couldn’t help but cheer and smile with them. This kind of excitement is thrilling plus the story behind this lost Heirloom ring will Live forever & ever again.

What I’ve learned on many types of calls has kept me ahead in better preparation for providing the best equipment and know how on How to find your lost ring.

((Who ya gonna call)) ?

I met Clare on the beach and after showing me the area she thought the ring had been dropped in , I started detecting with my ATPro , after numerous coins , ring pulls , tabs and bottle tops etc  , eventually I hit a target that showed up as 56 on my meter , and there in my sand scoop was Clares husbands wedding ring  , the look of joy on Clare’s face said it all , yet another ring reunited with its owner thanks to ring finders .

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Ondrej from Albany New York who just got married in Hawaii. After the wedding while swimming with his lovely bride Tamara in the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon at the Hilton Hawaiian Village his ring came off in about 7 feet of water. This lagoon is used by guests constantly and if you don’t get there early it gets completely silted up to the point of zero visibility. Also that depth requires scuba to do a thorough search. We agreed to meet the next morning at 6:30 to be sure to beat the crowd. When I arrived the next morning Ondrej & I were shocked to see the lagoon was more then half way drained for cleaning. The seven foot depth area was now only waist deep at the most. The orientation was way off to determine whereabouts they were swimming but we made a best guess and I started a grid search. I didn’t bring my scoop as I fully intended to do this hunt on scuba. I had my waterproof pin-pointer to help with my hand retrieval. After about 30 minutes and a few coin targets I got a nice tone on my Excal. I started pin-pointing and in the waist deep and crystal clear water the probe pushed the ring up from the silt and the rising sun glinted off the gold. Awesome I thought no scoop required. I reached in pulled out the ring and asked Ondrej, “Is this your ring?” Utter amazement as Ondrej and Tamara each gave me a hug. As often as this happens it means so much. Honeymoon saved! Aloha to Ondrej & Tamara.

Lost ring found and returned from private beach in Chatham

  • from Orleans (Massachusetts, United States)

around 6pm I was loading my scuba tanks in to my vehicle that were just filled, when a call came in with the caller ID of Chatham tides motel. I answered and the man I was talking to was the manger of the motel who said that while fishing a couple hours before calling me he had caught a blue fish and released it back in to the water, while shaking the sand off his hands his ring came off and hit the sand with out a mark. I told him I could be there in about 20 minutes, upon arrival he showed me the area which was about 5’x5’ and a few swings later I had a solid signal which turned out to be his ring. I think it took longer to walk the 100 feet to the beach then to recover the ring.

When Cindy and her family went to Ponce Beach in San Clemente on a Sunday afternoon, Cindy put her rose gold wedding ring set in the pocket of her shorts for safekeeping. After returning home that afternoon she discovered the rings were not in her shorts pocket.

Her and the family returned to the beach later that evening attempting to find the rings in the sand. There were several places that the rings could have fallen out of the pocket but the most likely was at the beach where she had taken off her shorts to go swimming.

Monday afternoon Cindy contacted me, asking for help. She said that either her husband or herself could meet me the next morning to show me the location. After discussing the location, I felt I could go by myself with the screen shot photo Cindy had marked and sent to my phone. I know how difficult it is for a mother with two young children to leave the house and why should her husband lose part of a days work. Time is important especially in public places.

Ponce Beach is about 20 miles drive for me and I was there an hour after talking to Cindy. Walking to the marked location she had given me, I could see finger drag marks in the sand. It only took a short time to find the two beautiful rings. We were lucky that this beach doesn’t have daily beach sifting machines. Also, that the rings were hiding in sand and not in plain site in the parking lot.  I was able to call Cindy and I drove closer to where they live to return the rings that same evening.
