Lost gold ring found back in May near Reading

I recovered this gold ring after and extensive search of a garden near Reading, the compost pile had been scanned along with all the beds and under every bush etc. At first I hit a signal but it was too deep but I had to investigate as you do. This was a real bonus as out popped a lovely silver ring the the gents wife was very fond of so she kept it. Sorry but no pictures for this one.

A few hours later while searching in the vegetable patch I found the rather large gold ring! A very happy Professor!

Lost Gold Ring Found in Oxfordshire

A young lady lost her gold ring a couple of weeks ago. It was  given to her by her grandmother. This was a family heirloom and needed to be recovered.

After a long search in a very popular scenic site of Wittennham Clumps  in Oxfordshire the pair were finally reunited.

Made everyone’s day.

Engagement ring lost when canoe capsized, Cincinnati, Ohio

  • from Cincinnati (Ohio, United States)

“Would love to get your help if you’re available. My daughter lost her engagement ring in river today when our canoe capsized. It was today, Sunday, 6/11/17. We have the exact coordinates. It’s about 15-18 inches of water. We would be eternally grateful if you could help. THANK YOU!!!”.

I was knee deep in water searching for another lost ring when my phone received this message and unfortunately it was late afternoon when I retrieved it. Rain was forecast for the coming week and when it came it was very heavy at times. Though we tried searching during the next week, the water level was higher and the current stronger making searching tough and so we decided to try again when conditions had improved. Hoping for low water and reduced current, we had no idea I would be searching over two months for this ring.

The area where the ring was lost was challenging for canoes and the rains we received were exceptionally heavy for early summer and these factors combined to make searching challenging and sometime just not possible. Over the next few weeks I helped rescue capsized canoes and found many lost items, keys, glasses, phones, clothes, trash etc. When I could do so, I was also removing nails, fish hooks, scrap iron, pop cans, tabs and foil, all of the types of things I should have been finding, but unfortunately, there was no ring.

With ‘dog days’ came improving water conditions which we had hoped for and I continued searching, but again and again I left our search area without the ring. On Sunday August 20th, I decided to try again, just one last time. Going in after a lite rain I was apprehensive but widened my search area and after only about an hour I received several mixed signals, one was of the type I had been hoping for and I was both surprised and pleased to finally recover this ring in a hand full of rocks and gravel.

I was happy to help and so glad to be able to recover this engagement ring because the ring was lost not long after this couple’s wedding, but also because of this couple’s smiles indicating how happy they are to have it back beside the wedding band on the bride’s hand!

Chris Turner, founder of the Ring Finders is absolutely right, it is all about the smiles.

Best wishes and good luck to you all with your searches!

I had just finished another search across town when Austin’s sister called me to ask if I was available. She had found me on line while her brother was searching the sand at Riviera Beach in San Clemente, CA.
He is visiting his family here and they spent the day at this local beach. He had put his tungsten wedding band in his shirt pocket leaving it on the sand when he went swimming. While he was swimming, his brother moved the shirt and the ring fell from the pocket into the sand.

They were not upset at the loss because it should have been easy to find it. Wrong!
After more than two hours Austin was losing confidence that he could find it. His sister told him I was available and let him call me for help.

I told Austin that my metal detector could easily find his ring if he marks the location so we could get close to the area of the loss.

We met on the beach an hour later and it only took a short time till we had his ring in the scoop. I have been using my XP Deus metal detector on these dry sand searches because it’s very fast and efficient. Austin was very happy and impressed with how well the metal detector worked to find the ring he had felt would be easy to find by hand searching.

If you lose something in the dry sand, mark the area and get landmarks that will help you return to the general area. Call a metal detector expert from TheRingFinders ASAP. Lost Gold Jewelry Cache Found In Detroit Michigan

The Diamond Ring Effect!

While most astronomy people in America today were looking for the ring pictured on the left, this nice lady was looking for a ring of another kind. She got in touch with me and mentioned that when her mom was ill had mentioned burying some family jewelry out behind the house awhile ago and wanted her to know about it. When I got on site I had noticed many empty holes where she had searched to no avail. I turned on my Sidewinder metal detector in all metal mode and as I gridded the suspected area I was anticipating that sweet threshold increase that means treasure in most cases. With a 90 degree temperature in the Detroit area today and the typical humidity, I got chills thinking that it won’t be too much longer until I got the target signal. The sidewinder finally signaled that metal was below and digging about a foot down my shovel hit metal! We both exclaimed there it is! at the same time as I pulled up a metal can. Handing it to her and watching her pry it opened couldn’t be fast enough! Contained inside and pictured was a beautiful 14k white gold ring, a 14k yellow gold cross with chain and a 14k white gold bracelet!

Then I said…now that’s the diamond ring effect I’m talkin’ bout!

Newly wed loses wedding band in Lake Michigan

We were water detecting at Hess Lake in Newaygo, Michigan this morning after going back to my car and checking my emails and text I received a text from Tom Towsend, a TRF, who was unable to make it to Montague, MI to help find the ring so he ask me for my help, I received an email from Al Holden at Prostock Detectors stating he referred my name to Eric R., I then received a voice mail from Eric and immediately called him and got the information and was immediately on our way with my TRF partner, Dave Boyer. Fortunately we were less than 50 miles from Eric and was there in less than an hour. Before I left for Newaygo this morning I checked Lake Michigan to see how the surf is doing, up or down. It was fairly smooth.

We arrived at Eric’s cabin and met him and his Dad, Neil, and 2 of his children (black Labs). Right off the bat I knew we were in good company because Neil was also a fellow Air Force vet. We got our gear and walked down to the lake talking to some neighbors who wished us well and then got a location as to where the ring was lost. The wind was kicking up and the water was getting choppier than it was this morning.

Eric and his wife Emily were playing catch with one of his dogs and when Eric made a catch in about chest deep water he felt the ring pop off and immediately went into recovery mode. He put on his wet suit armed himself with a mask and snorkel, a quarter and 3 screws. Yes, he wanted to drop the coin and screws into the water to see how fast the sand covers them. The ring was gone immediately and so was the quarter and screws.

Dave entered the water about waist deep and immediately got a signal. He found the quarter. A few minutes later a screw was recovered. We started to grid an area and went into neck deep water and made our way into shallower water. After about 20 minutes to a half an hour I got a good signal and about 6″ down I found Eric’s platinum wedding band. Looking at Dave I said I found it and then Eric saw Dave do a fist pump and knew we had found something. I walked out of the water towards Eric and handed him his ring. This is the point that every TRF’r waits for, the smiles, tears, thank you’s and “I can believe it”.

The camera came out and pictures were taken and the neighbors cheered. Dave an I are very happy for Eric and Emily and are glad we could put a happy end to their honeymoon.

Engagement ring recovered in Long Branch NJ found by Dennis Burlingame

Got a call on Sunday the 20th from a frantic mom who was on the beach with her family. Seems her daughter in law to be took off her engagement ring that was only 3 weeks old to put on lotion and placed it on a towel and someone moved the towel and the ring was gone. Her son was going to run out and buy a detector when another woman who saw what was going on found RingFinder’s and gave her my number. Told her I’d be there as soon as I could to help find the ring. Took the 20 minute ride and was on the beach in no time. They showed me the area they were sitting, first target turned out to be a penny but 3 feet away out popped her ring. Everyone on the beach started to clap. It was again great to see all the smiles and to reunite someone with their loved ring. Best wishes to the soon to be Happy Couple. ( sorry no close up on ring, got to remember that )

Lost Key Fob in Sand .. Huntington Beach, CA. .. Found

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

During the month of August thay have a country music festival on the sand at Huntington State Beach. That night during the event, Daniel lost his car key fob in the sand. He returned the next morning driving more than 50 miles in hope of finding his keys.

After attaining permission from the supervisor dismantling the structures Daniel began to shuffle though the sand hoping to see his key fob. The supervisor saw how frustrated Daniel was and gave Daniel my information. I was able to meet Daniel soon after he called me as it was only a 6 mile drive.

The tractors and forklifts were courteous enough to give us space to work. After digging a couple dozen aluminum beer cans the keys showed up in my scoop. It did take about an hour because Daniel was a little confused about where he was the night before.

Daniel and his friend thanked me and told me they were beginning to feel that their long drive was going to be a waste of time. It was a good search. I always find the item I’m looking for in the last place I look.😎

Lost wedding ring, Longwood, Fl…….Found and Returned!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)

Allot of rings are lost playing volleyball and unfortunately many times the rings are never found by their rightful owners. Some owners try their hardest to sift thru the sand using their fingers and rakes in a desperate attempt to locate their precious rings. There are a few people who actually find their rings and are so relieved, vowing to never wear their ring and play volleyball at the same time-ever again! But most poor souls figure their rings are gone forever–never to be seen again.
Josh was sort of in this final stage. He and his friends had looked the court over the day he lost his ring and then he went out and rented a metal detector and searched the most likely spots over again. Still no ring! He determined his ring was gone! But his story does not end there.
Last week I got a call from Alex who had lost a couple of rings during a recent move. Unfortunately I was not able to find his rings, but as we were talking he remembered this other guy Josh, who had lost his wedding ring while playing volleyball the same night that Alex had played. So I inquired about the name of the park and as I drove away from Alex’s home I figured — there’s no better time to go check this other lost ring out than right now. It was only three miles out of my way and as I drove into “Merrill Park” I could see it was well taken care of. I donned my “Ring Finders” hat, grabbed my clip board and headed for the park office. I met the park manager, Richard, and told him I was here to help look for a recent lost ring on one of the volleyball courts and he immediately told me which court it was lost on and wished me good luck! (Most sand volleyball courts are some of the easiest places to search for lost rings and things. One has to dig every signal and remember to set your detector to it’s highest settings possible cause lost items get pushed deep by all the foot traffic.) It took a good 30 minutes to search the inside of the court and it was as clean as a whistle! I then started on the sandy outer area hoping that the ring had landed there. (Around two sides of the court was a tall chain link fence with thick brush on the other side and if the ring went thru or over the fence–it would have turned into a very, very difficult search!) Twenty minutes later I got an excellent signal and brushing the sand away revealed Josh’s ring! As I talked to the park manager he was able to give me Josh’s phone number and I gave him a call. Josh was so surprised and thrilled to hear that his ring had been found and we made arrangements to meet the next day. Thank you so much Josh for the generous reward! Lost something recently? Call, text or e-mail me—ASAP!
