I was metal detecting at the beach and working some nice erosion. As I headed back to my truck a man in his 20’s approaches me and he looks pretty down. He says his wife lost her wedding ring earlier in the day and asked if I could help. OF COURSE I CAN HELP~! Would love to. As we head over to the location I notice the wife with her arms folded looking miserable. I said “How are you doing?” No response from the woman. She was falling apart. So he tells me the story. 5 hours earlier she had put 4 rings in a bag to make sure she didn’t lose them. 2 Silver rings from her friend, her gold wedding band, and her diamond engagement ring. When she left the beach she shook out the blanket (and bag?) and went home. She realized NO RINGS when she got home and drove back to the beach fearing the worst. Using their hands they sifted the entire area with no luck.

By now there was a small crowd of on-lookers. I started to grid the area. My first hit, SILVER RING! She couldn’t believe it. Second hit, the other SILVER RING! They were getting super excited. 3rd hit, zinc penny. 4th hit, gold wedding band! a few moments later I got a nice signal, about 3-4 inches deep I pulled out the diamond ring. She grabbed the ring, went to her knees and put her hands to her face, and cried. After a few minutes, she jumped up and gave me a huge bear hug. The diamond in her ring was the same diamond from her grandmother’s ring, irreplaceable. She gave me another hug, ecstatic the rings were found. What a great day and return!

After seeing a facebook article about a ring return I did, a man contacted me about a ring lost in the woods. On youth day last year a father and son were at his camp hunting. The young man was successful .They dragged the deer to a four wheeler trail. the father removed his ring giving it to the young man so the father could dress the deer. They placed the deer on the four wheeler and returned to camp.When the father asked for his ring they realized it was last seen on the fender of the four wheeler. The camp owner rented a metal detector but it just keep beeping at him!!!   I made my way to the camp and to where the deer had been loaded on to the four wheeler. Working on one side of the road I started recovering surface targets.  I expected to find it within a few feet but it managed to stay on the fender for about 70 yards.I recovered it next to three shell casings. I happen to pick the correct side of the road .  Today I returned the ring to the camp owner who had contacted me. I understand a father is in for quite a surprise tonight.     Bill

Alexa was doing some gardening and wanted to protect her ring from damage while working in the dirty. She took it off and hung it on her neck chain. After a period of time she had the chain fall off and no ring. The whole family searched, they got on  hands and knees and looked with no luck. Alexa’s dad contacted me and we setup a search time and date. I arrived and Alexa’s mother showed me the area to search, after an hour I expanded the search area and bingo found it. OMG what a surprised mom, she asked Don did you have any luck, I Said if the ring looks like this one Yes I did.
