Lost Gold Wedding Band at Waikiki Beach…FOUND!!!

This ring find started Weds 13 April while I was in San Diego for a business meeting. I got a text from Adam of Vancouver, Washington. While in two feet of water at Waikiki Beach his Gold Wedding Band fell off. With a slight South swell and the waves rolling up on the beach his ring disappeared immediately. I phoned Adam and told him I was in San Diego and wouldn’t be home until Friday. This Waikiki Beach area is the most heaviest metal detected bar none. My fear was it would be found in no time with very little chance of return. Adam sent me a photo of the exact spot he was standing in the water when his ring fell off.

When I returned on Friday in the early afternoon I had to run out to Ko Olina and retrieve a Platinum ring that called before Adam. After that successful recovery I jumped in my truck and headed for Waikiki. Still before work lets out I was able to find parking at the Zoo and then headed for Adam’s pictured area of Waikiki. I lined up a little West of the tree next to the Shave Ice sign and started my in and out search. The area was sterile. On about my sixth leg coming in on the Shave Ice sign I got a nice tone in the wave curl. One scoop down nothing. Second scoop I couldn’t believe it a pretty sparkling in the sun Gold “Ben Bridge” Wedding Band. I was in shock after three days no detectorist found this ring. The Ring Finders score #2 for the day. I went back to my truck and called Adam in Vancouver and asked if he knew what brand his ring was. He initially said “No”. Then his wife said I’ll bet its the same as mine and she shouted out “Ben Bridge”. No worries that’s the ring I found. “Unbelievable”, they both said. I’ll get it in the mail to you in the morning. As you can see in the first pic the ring is back with Adam. Aloha to Adam.

How to Find A Lost Ring at Jericho Beach, Vancouver.

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I had a call the other day for a ring search at Jericho Beach, a young couple from Germany told me that they were enjoying the sunny day and playing some volleyball and the young lady who’d only been married for 4 months lost her platinum diamond ring.

I meet with them and we talked about the search and I knew it would be a quick recovery due to the fact that she knew where the ring came off. Also her and her husband went to Home Depot and bought a rake and raked the area for over 2 hours in hopes that they could find the ring.

I could tell they were very sad and most likely thought I’d have no chance in finding it…Good news was it only took a couple of minutes to see their smiles!

Lost Wedding Band in North Vancouver…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I got a call from a young man who told me that he lost his gold ring and found me on TheRingFinders Directory. He went on to explain that he was power washing his front driveway & his back concrete patio. I met him that day and we walked the area and after asking him how he held the sprayer my first concern was that if you hold it with two hands how will your ring come off? In my mind it wasn’t lost where he thought it might be but I still searched a bit in the back for 5 minutes then we talked a bit more and I asked him if he was dirty after the clean up and he replied yes!

My next question was where did you was up? He said in the basement sink…I asked him to check the sink just in case it came of there as he told me he lost 14 lbs and his ring was fitting lose. less then 20 seconds and he came out smiling and holding up his ring!

Some times we have to ask a lot of questions and try to narrow down the search area. I could have spent hours searching the area he was power spraying but my instincts told me to check the obvious area first. This saved me loads of time!

Even though I didn’t locate this with my detector it was the questions asked that lead us to the ring and the smile!

Wednesday evening while I was in San Diego California for a work conference I got a call from Steve from Seattle. While enjoying the cool waters of the Aulani lagoon his Platinum Wedding Band came off. He didn’t notice it missing until he was in the elevator going to his room so there was the possibility it came off at his beach chair. I told Steve I would be back on Friday and as soon as I landed I would retrieve my gear and head out to the resort. Steve and his lovely wife Christine met me at the front entrance and we proceeded to the lagoon. Their seating area was occupied so I decided to search the water first. Steve showed me the approximate route he took in the water and on about my 4th leg of the grid search I got a screaming Platinum tone. One scoop and there was Steve’s ring. I yelled to Steve and Christine on the beach that I found the ring and they met me at the waters edge. A very pleasant look of relief could be seen on both their faces. A hug and a handshake and smiles all around. Vacation continues on a high note. Aloha to Steve & Christine.

4:00 Pm  Justin called me yesterday and said my name was referred to him from a previous client. he lost his wedding band in the park while he was playing with his daughter and would it be possible for me to help him find it? after asking Justin a bunch of question about the ring and location I agreed to meet up with him @ 5:30.

Arrived at the location and meet Justin he pointed to the park and said that he was playing at three play ground and on the hill, I started first at the site nearest to his yard did a grid search with no luck at that location walked over to the second play area and did a grid search checked around the swings which I would say that would be the most logical place for the ring to be. Found all kinds of clad and junk then I received a sweet sound of gold there buried in about 3 inches of sand was Justin ring. Walked back to Justin as he was coming towards me I asked him if the ring had any distinguish marks on the ring and he said there is a inscription on the inside of the ring and I said to him is it Forever Bear and I watched the reaction on his face he said  you found it.

Another happy client.

Also I like to thank all the 15 Kids that assisted me on the Hunt.

While on a ring hunt in Waikiki the Umbrella Boys approached me and said a Korean couple had lost and had been looking all day for the wife’s wedding band in the dry sand. They only knew it was Gold and had a name and hotel if it was found. This happened to be the exact spot I was searching for a Swiss couples Gold Wedding Band. I started a North South grid search and found a handful of change. On the East West grid I had a faint low tone so I took a scoop. Nothing! Then on he second scoop I saw the cutest rose and white gold wedding band with Diamonds glistening still in the setting sunlight. I let the Umbrella Boys know and they gave me the Korean couples name & hotel. I called my wife to get the Hotels number and called the front desk. I was looking for Kim Yeon Nam and her husband was put on the phone. I could hear Kim crying with relief in the back ground as her husband told her the ring was found and would be in the lobby in five minutes. We met in the lobby and I handed over the ring after confirming it was the one. Kim’s husband gave me a hug and a handshake and he told me that they were married only yesterday and Kim was so distraught after losing her ring she thought it would never come back. Nice way to end my day. Aloha to Kim.

A wedding Ring was lost at Oceanside beach And Returned by Theringfinders metal detecting service. Call or text me 760 889 2751

Here is the story written by Lynn Penfield the Mother of Brett who accidentally lost his ring in the sand.

My son lost his wedding ring on a trip to California to visit family. He and his wife were playing volleyball on a beach in Oceanside, California, when he realized his ring was gone. They searched for it, but had to leave before finding it to catch their flight back to Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he is stationed with the Navy. Because my husband and I live in northern Wisconsin, there just wasn’t a valid solution to try to find the ring. It was suggested to me I check out craigslist to see if anyone had posted finding a ring. Unsuccessful at that attempt, I decided to post my own craigslist ad. Very quickly I received an e-mail from Curtis Cox in Oceanside, California, offering to go look for my son’s ring. Admittedly, I wasn’t holding out a lot of hope as three days had passed since the ring was lost. These wonderful men took the time out of their day immediately to go search for the ring. When they arrived at the location, a mother was there with her children. John and Curtis spoke to the mother, explaining why they were there. Soon thereafter, the mother approached John and Curtis with a ring her son had found while playing in the sand. A few hours after my first contact with Curtis, John Hughes emailed me stating a ring had been found in the vicinity where my son’s ring had been lost. I sent Curtis a picture of the ring that was taken six months earlier at my son’s wedding. Curtis sent me a picture back of the ring the mother had given them – and IT WAS MY SON’S RING! I was completely floored. Had John and Curtis not been there at that exact moment, the ring would have been lost forever. Instead, it’s now back on my son’s hand a week after he lost it. My entire family is so grateful to John and Curtis for their prompt response and successful return of my son’s ring. These two men are so kind and wonderful. We can’t thank them enough.

Lost Gold & Diamonds Wedding Band at Ko Olina Aulani Disney Resort…FOUND!!!

Wednesday evening and I got a call from Shawna from Wahiawa, Hawaii. Shawna explained that when her husband Justin was playing in the lagoon in knee deep water with their adorable daughter Summer she accidentally pulled her Father’s Wedding Band off. Sunset was fast approaching and several tourists on the beach tried helping to locate the ring. The sand in the lagoon is very clean and fine and rings disappear quickly as no one had any luck finding it. One of Aulani’s Beach Attendants told Shawna about “The Ring Finders” and that’s when I got the call. I told Shawna I lived about 30 miles away on the opposite side of the island but if rush hour traffic was through I could be there in 40-50 minutes. By the time I’d get there it would be dark. Thankfully this hobby is Audio and there is enough ambient light from the resort to see in my scoop. We met at the Valet parking area where Shawna & Summer were waiting. We walked together through the resort down to the lagoon where Justin was standing in the water where the ring fell off. I asked Justin to be my waterborne marker and I started my grid search. On the third leg in knee deep water I got my first target and an awesome tone. One scoop and there was Justin’s awesome Wedding Band. I asked Justin to describe his ring again after which I handed him what I found. He said, “That’s it no way.” I explained the detecting equipment is very good and him putting me on the correct location made all the difference. After a firm “Thank You” handshake we went up to the beach to show Shawna and Summer. Shawna couldn’t believe we found the ring which is the case with most lost ring situations. Smiles all around. Aloha to Justin, Shawna & Summer!

Paul and his girlfriend were walking his dog in a small park. On throwing the ball for the dog the girlfriend heard  a metallic ping down the roadway, she asked Paul if he had lost his ring, sure enough it was missing. They searched along the roadway fence in the grass, old leaves and some plants to no avail, they quickly realized it was like a needle in a haystack. He found my email on the internet and I responded the next morning, his girlfriend gave me the best clue on where to search and within 30 minutes I had the ring. I told him he should thank his girlfriend for being so alert.

Three rings found in Ballina NSW

These three rings were lost in a muddy bay in Ballina during a water polo match in February.

A search conducted by a member of a local metal detectors club a few weeks later was unsuccessful.

Veronica saw a full-page article that appeared in two major Sudney newspapers  on 20 March featuring me and the Ringfinders and contacted me.

A thousand questions, followed by a six hour drive, an hour of setting-up the search area using photographs and survey /transit markers and it was on with the SCUBA gear and into the water.

Veronica was the last thing I saw for the next three hours as the visibility underwater was zero and it was time for a cylinder change.

Back into the water and another three hours of systematic grid searching the water polo court and investigating any likely sound through the headphones by picking up handfuls of feral mud and squeezing it through my fingers until something solid, that didn’t want to bite me was left. Low on air again and it was time to pack up for the day and wash the equipment.

Early the next day saw me in Byron Bay where the guys at Sundive Byron Bay kindly filled two cylinders for me in the middle of a busy morning at the shop.

Back into the water at Ballina gridding again and just after an hour I heard the noise I had been wanting to hear. Two distinctly sepetate yellow gold noises about two feet apart. About a minute of  grabbing and squeezing mud and the first ring was cable tied to my BCD. The engagement ring was the next out of the mud followed closely by the 94 year old and most sentimental of the rings, Veronica’s and formally her Great Grandmother’s, wedding ring and these were both safety cable tied to my BCD seven hours and ten minutes of diving after the search began.

A photograph taken and sent to Veronica resulted in a call during which I didn’t really understand much of what she was saying but I pretty sure that she was happy.

The story made the front page of the Northern Star two days later. A great result for all and another pair of amazed but totally satisfied Ringfinders customers and an equally happy Ringfinder.
