Lost Gold Ring at Simco Park in New Westminister, BC

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Over two weeks ago I was in touch via email in regards to doing a search at a park not to far from me,  for a lost gold band. Because of both of our schedules we didn’t meet up until this evening.

When I met with David he told me the story of where he thought the ring might be, but he wasn’t sure if it was there or not, as he felt someone could have found it or maybe it was lost some where else.

We discussed the search and I started to do my grid with the hope of finding his ring. This Ring was given to David by his father and he was going to wear it when he gets married this December.

I was into my grid search for 30 when I got a good hit on my V3I, I bent down with my pinpointer and after I moved the grass I could see the outline of his gold ring…

I was so happy that it was found and I called David and his girlfriend over and I have to say I have the best job in the world! I get to make people smile and I love it.

Lost Palladium Wedding Band at a Baseball Field in Vancouver, BC…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I was driving home from two earlier searches when I received a call in regards to a young man’s lost wedding band that was made out of palladium.

The young man told me that he lost it the night before and searched with some friends but didn’t find it. When I showed up at the park there were kids everywhere…Summer soccer camps and other events but that didn’t stop us for asking if we could search the area,  the coaches were kind enough to let us search…

After 30 minutes of searching in a high potential area that John felt the ring could be in, I moved to the fence where it made sense to John and I that the ring could be in that area due to taking off his glove after the innings…

There it was in the long grass not far from a dirt patch and I was delighted to see it looking back up at me! You see John was just about to leave to go back to work, so the timing was perfect to surprise him! That I did…

I love my Job!

Thanks for the kind reward John!

Tungsten Carbine Wedding Band Lost at Spanish Banks Beach, Vancouver…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Well it started with a very late night at work and I didn’t get to bed till 5 ish and around 7:15 am I awoke to my phone ringing…I picked up the phone and heard a young man’s voice ask if I was The Ring Finders guy, I said yes but I think I thought I was dreaming still. After a few seconds I realized this was a call for help. I jumped out of bed and gathered my equipment and was on my way to the beach to help find a young mans wedding ring that was made out of Tungsten Carbine.          It took me close to an hour to get there and when I met the young man he told me the story about how he lost his ring and I was sure that I’d find it for him. There was two couples that were at the beach parking lot and hanging out (8am) and helping him look for his ring. One couple made me a nice cup of coffee and told the young man to come back in the morning as he did (5am) to search for the ring. When he couldn’t find it he got online and found ”The Ring Finders” and made the call.   After he showed me the area where he’d searched for his wedding band I could see where he’d been looking in the sand as you could see his finger prints all over the sand. He told me that he was married for 4 years and that the ring was very special to him…It only took me a few minutes to find it for him and the smile was priceless! I love my job! Lost something and need it found?Call me ASAP You can watch the video of the search on the link below… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-TsVdqNFJE

Lost Mens Palladium Wedding Band at Dewey Beach, Del. Found……….

  • from Lewes (Delaware, United States)
Contact:

I received a call from a gentleman regarding a mens palladium wedding band that had been lost on the beach. The ring was lost in an area of the beach that still had a large puddle of water from the high tide cycle and had fallen off the clients finger while he was running around the beach playing with his nephews. I was directed to the area of the lost ring and after starting a grid search, I recovered the ring on my second pass. I learned that the ring was very special to the owner as he and his wife had designed the ring themselves.  Another happy client!!

Lost Nantucket Platnum Engagement Ring FOUND & RETURNED

Dear Leighton,
I came across your page and contact info on the Ring Finders directory.  Do you happen to know anyone on Nantucket who might be able to help?  If not, I’m interested in renting a metal detector and giving it a try myself.  Please let me know at your earliest convenience.  The rings were lost yesterday afternoon in the sand – very specific search area, not too big at all. We searched by hand last night but no luck.
       Thanks very much in advance,
                  Darshan Jesrani

Well it started out about a week ago, when I got a frantic e-mail from a gentleman saying that his wife had just lost there wedding ring set on the beach. It was a very brief e-mail so with not much detail. I responded and asked all the questions one should ask, and a day later I got a return message saying they were lost on Nantucket Island. It just so happens that I was making plans to visit the Island this weekend… My wife and I haven’t been there in 30 years… maybe this was meant to be? They told me that they had rented a detector from a local shop for 2 days, and only found a dime… I told them no guarentees, but if I made it over, I would give it my best shot. I again e-mailed them and asked if I could get a better discription of what I was looking for, white, yellow, diamond, weddingband etc…. All I got back was a GPS location…… even better ! …. My wife being such a great sport, said lets go and see what happens…. I had the boat booked in ten minutes and on Saturday we were off AM sharp. I got there and counted off 200 feet to my right and 50 or so feet up from the water and started my grid work. Six passes later and about 15 minutes after turning on my detector,  I had a beutiful Platnum Diamond Engagement Ring in my scoop…. I had to do a little work on my end but it all worked out. Turns out they had about 40 people looking for the ring over the week on their hands and knees…. 5 minutes after locating the ring a woman aproached me and asked if I had found a ring, that a couple had lost one last weekend. I told her I had it….. not sure who was more excited me or her….. lololol  Because all they sent me was their e-mail, and NO phone number, I was planning on e-mailing her husband when I returned to the mainland that evening.  The woman told me that she had their number if I wanted it….  I said of course that’s why I am here… I called the number and asked for Emily, and told her who I was, and I didn’t have to say anymore…. she said NO Way…. you found it? Better news yet, she was still on the Island, and was at the boat as we were talking…   Her boat was leaving in 45 minutes… I told her to hurry down to take a few pictures and discribe the ring and I would give it back to her… To a T it was hers … Her husband was wearing the matching ring…. A lot of hugs a couple of tears of joy, and a few stories as to how it was lost, and off they went home to New York…. What a great day it was returning such a keepsake as that….. I never did find the Wedding Band… I gridded the heck outa that place, but too many people squating on such a nice weekend… Thanks for looking….and listening to my story…. What a great hobby….

Lost Silver Pendent at the Equestrian Centre in Vancouver BC

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call yesterday from a young lady that lost her silver pendent at her Equestrian Centre and was hoping that I could help. Of course I would! I met her today and she showed me where she thought it might be,  it was a large area and after a few hours I started to think maybe someone found it before me.

Another hour of doing a grid search and I got a nice loud signal that I was looking for and my detector showed me it was silver…And there it was just inches under the gravel…

I was very happy to see her silver hand pendent because I could tell she was pretty upset that it was lost and the fact that it was taking me that long to find it made her nervous I’m sure…I couldn’t find the silver chain as it was very thing and dainty but that could have stayed on her clothes for a while longer before it made it to the ground.

Wedding Band Found at Woonsocket, RI, Home

  • from Charlestown (Rhode Island, United States)
Contact:

I received a call today from a friend who knew I was a member of The Ring Finders.  He asked me to look for a ring for his stepdad’s mom, Cecile.  Cecile lost her husband about a year ago and has worn his wedding ring on her thumb ever since.  That is until yesterday when the ring was lost while she was doing yard work.  She was so upset that she looked for the ring until late last night with a flashlight and prayed to Saint Anthony.  After searching the grass in her front yard for about 45 minutes this evening, I found her husband’s wedding band.  Cecile was so happy to get the ring back that she cried and hugged me when she saw it.  She said she felt blessed, but not as blessed as I felt to have been able to return it to her!

Gold Signet Ring for 8yr Old found after 3 weeks

  • from Dallas (Texas, United States)
Contact:

Hello from Don & Ellen Wilson in Dallas, Texas.  We got a call today from Mrs Bundy, her 8yr old daughter, Briar, had lost her Gold Signet Ring at the playground of the local Country Club.  We met at the Country Club and began searching the area where the daughter said she saw the ring fly off her hand.  She was playing Queen of the World by standing on top of a picnic table and threw her arm out like she was Queen. The ring came off of her hand and was lost.

After 3 weeks of searching by Briar, her parents, other family members and the Country Club grounds & Management staff everyone had given the ring up for lost.  Mrs Bundy’s sister in New York read an article about  “The Ring Finders” and told Mrs. Bundy she should check the website and see if there was a “Ring Finder in the Dallas area”  She did and found my wife and I.

After about an hour of searching we were about to call it quits when I asked the little girl to get back up on the picnic table and re-inact the event.  She did, then my wife said “no wait, do it again and close your eyes and do it the exact same way”.  Briar did as we requested and did it completely different than she had previously showed us.  This time I saw that it was possible the ring may have  flown in a different area of grass.  We began to detect this area and in 5 minutes the ring showed itself.  I called the little girl and her mother over and asked, ‘is this your ring’?  They were so excited and so grateful.

Another great day in the life of “The Ring Finders in Dallas,Tx”

God I love this hobby!

Lost Platinum Wedding Band in Cloverdale BC…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a 911 emergency call the other morning to help find a lost platinum wedding band that was lost in a persons garden. The young lady wanted the ring found ASAP and unfortunately I was working and had to make her wait till the next day.

She told me that her daughter had thrown the ring in the garden and she was afraid that a bird might find it or a squirrel and the ring would be gone for good. I felt pretty confident if she couldn’t see or find the ring… they couldn’t either.

After talking about the next days search and ensuring her that I will find it, she then told me that she had gotten mad at her husband and tossed his ring in the back yard.

This happens a lot and most people don’t like talking about it, and most times I can’t get a video or a picture because they don’t want to be online showing others what happened and I completely understand.  I have had a couple of people in the past let me do my story in regards to getting mad and throwing the ring and that just shows others we are all human.

The search was an easy one, the ring had been stomped into the dirt near a shrub, that being said the young couple wouldn’t have had a chance to find it as it was already buried an inch or more.

I could tell that they were both happy and I was too! I get to meet some great people and hear the stories about their ring and what it means to them to get it back

I love my job!

Lost my Ring in Vancouver BC…Platinum Wedding Band Found

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call the other day while I was at work in regards to a lost platinum wedding band, lost while the man was cleaning out his SUV on the side of the road by his house. We discussed the search and I was able to get to his place before dark at around 8 pm to start the search.

I was feeling confident that this would be a quick search and I’d be on my way home within 30 minutes or less…Not…It was almost midnight and I had to pack it up and head home without finding the ring. Sometimes this happens and I knew the ring had to be there some where so I told the young man and his wife that I’d be back on the weekend to continue my search for his platinum wedding band. I could tell they were both disappointed but I assured them that if it was there I would find it.

The only place that I could think it would be was in the very large and thick hedge along side their property, I did spend some time searching under the hedge but mostly I concentrated in the areas that someone could come along the next day and find it. I wanted to make sure that I didn’t miss the most obvious place and I searched them over and over, I did have some problems with power lines just above me but I was able to stabilize my metal detector.

Saturday came and I was off to search for this young man’s ring,  I brought a rake and I was ready to shake the hedge and rack everything under the hedge to the front and detect.  I started at the most likely spot under the hedge on my stomach and slowly worked inch by inch with my hand held pin pointer (detector)  after about an hour and half way up the hedge I got a nice loud signal and I moved the branches and leaves near the root and there I saw his beautiful platinum wedding band!

I think it might have gotten caught up in the branches and when I shook the hedge it fell to the ground, I was so happy to see that ring and to give it back to the young mans wife as he wasn’t home at the time. When I knocked on the door and she saw the ring I could tell how relieved she was! I have the greatest job in the world…I get to make people smile!

Thank you for the very kind reward Darren! I’m so glad your ring is back where it belongs!
