A One Week Old Gold with Diamond Wedding Ring Lost, Found, and Returned at St. Pete Beach, Florida

A One Week Old Gold With Diamond Wedding Ring Lost, Found, and Returned at St Pete Beach, Florida

Paul and Paula traveled from Rugby in the UK to Orlando, Florida for their wedding just one week earlier. After celebrating with family and friends, they traveled to Saint Pete Beach for a family honeymoon. On the Sunday following their wedding day, their new family were enjoying themselves in the warm sun and gulf waters. Paul was out about waist deep and was passing a football toward the beach when he felt something weird on his ring finger. When he looked down his one week old wedding band was gone.

The whole family looked and looked but could not find it. They saw a man metal detecting on the sand and asked if he could help but his detector could not go into the water. He told them about the SRARC group that will come out and search for lost items and Paul found them on the internet that night. Paul called Tom on Monday and he responded right away but the high waves keep him from doing a good search so he gave up went home and organized a group hunt for the next day. The group (Tom Jones, Ed Osmar, Rick Magyar, Mark Sillence, Mike Miller) showed up at low tide on Tuesday.

Tom organized the hunters into a line working from the deeper water toward shore. On the second pass Mike got lucky and when he dug the signal there was the wedding ring. He held the ring up and nodded to Paul who rushed out into the water and verified it was his ring. Needless to say we got a lot of smiles and hugs from both Paul and Paula.

SRARC would like to wish them many years of happiness ahead. It was our pleasure to be able to return the wedding ring to Paul’s finger.

Wedding Rings Found in Seekonk MA

Last Tuesday, Christine was walking a trail through a wooded area in Seekonk MA with her two daughters.  In a clearing near the path, she bent to brush off her daughter’s jacket, and her wedding band and diamond ring flew off of her hand.  They were lose as she had lost some weight.  Christine thought the rings had flown into leaves and brush that surrounded the clearing.  After searching the area, she couldn’t find either ring.  That evening, Christine and her husband, Bright, located me on the internet at theringfinders.com, and Bright called me for help.  The next day I met the couple in the area and had Christine reenact what had happened the previous day.  I determined that the rings had probably not flown into the brush and leaves but were on the ground in the clearing where they were lost.  Sure enough, Bright found her diamond ring on the ground in the clearing.  Immediately after, I was able to locate her wedding band.  It was a pleasure to help this couple and to see the rings back on Christine’s finger where they belong.

Got a call this weekend from a guy whose wife lost both of her rings while doing yard work.  He found one of the rings, but couldn’t find the other.  The area was a flower bed that they had recently cleared of brush, and then spread a bale of straw.  It was a real life needle in a haystack!  We quickly started looking when we got there, first scanning the hay with our handheld metal detector.  Nothing.  Then I detected the grassy area around the flower bed.  Got a couple of hits that were deeper, got a hit on a piece of metal … then the sweet sound of gold.  Check out the full story below on my website, www.LostandFoundRing.com.

Gold Wedding Ring Lost, Found, and Returned at Clearwater Beach, Florida

Gold Wedding Ring Lost, Found, and Returned at Clearwater Beach, Florida

On Friday, October 9, 2015, my wife and I along with our brother and sister-in-law were visiting Clearwater Beach in Clearwater, Florida. We were vacationing from New York and wanted to check out a Florida Beach while we were in Florida! We chose a spot on the beach and decided to take a dip in the water, not realizing the whirlwind of an experience we would have that day. We were wading and paddling through and soaking in the sun at Clearwater Beach. It was an incredibly nice beach and an experience that we didn’t have in NY.  I had told my wife to hold onto HER rings while she was in the water as I thought my own ring was feeling a little loose that morning. I mean…it was only 3½ months since we were married, I can’t be losing my ring at this time right?

While we were in the water, my wife, looking at her hand said “Oh, thank God I still have my rings on my finger. I’ll keep my fingers curled to keep it from falling.” A split second later, I find myself saying “Oh shoooot! My ring’s gone.” I was smiling and serious at the same time. I think it was shock. My wife said “you’re kidding right?”  And I showed her my hand full of five naked fingers. It was only 3 months and my ring was lost in the vastness of the Florida waters. I didn’t panic, thinking that any sign of panic would cause chaos and thoughts of sinking even more into the doghouse I thought I could be in. I kept thinking to myself that the more calm I would be the more likely I wouldn’t give up in finding my lost ring. I was holding onto a sliver of hope thinking that “hey… it was just a ring.” Our time in Florida was great but this would probably change all that in a split second.

But more importantly, this ring was incredibly significant. I mean, it was my wedding ring!! I remember the vow I made on the wedding day to my wife saying that I would give this ring to her as a sign of our constant faith and abiding love. This ring was blessed by priests and an important and close friend, a Bishop of the church who unfortunately passed away the morning after our wedding. There was deep significance behind the wedding rings that were blessed on our wedding day in June 2015. Surely, it wouldn’t be the same to get another replacement ring!

My wife and our brother and sister-in-law all searched extensively in the water for two hours searching in sections and combing the beach shores and asking people in the water to keep an eye out for a metal wedding ring! We couldn’t believe how nice the people at the Clearwater Beach were, just helping us look for this ring on their own time. We weren’t used to this kind gesture and were overwhelmed with their generosity.

We were about to give up and go home since we had a previous engagement that we had committed to and our family in Seffner, Florida was waiting for us. It was just then we saw someone with something that could help us at the very moment. Someone with a METAL DETECTOR! Aaron was casually walking along the shore line with his device when we approached him saying that we lost our wedding ring. When he asked us where we lost it, we told him it was somewhere in the water, not knowing that the metal detector could be used underwater.  He didn’t even hesitate and threw down his belongings into the sand and jumped into the water to continue our search. We were accompanied by another gentlemen casually wading in the water who was incredibly generous in helping us. We must have searched for another hour in the same area. We were coming close, hearing beeping sounds on the detector that turned out to be a dime and some possible mineral in the sand.

After an hour or so, we told Aaron that we had to leave since our family was calling us. We gave Aaron our phone number and told him to call us if he found anything.  His efforts were amazing. He didn’t give up. He kept assuring us that he would find this ring. We left Clearwater beach all bummed out that I had lost something pretty important and significant. We were even more bummed as we prepared for bed that night and realized it was a lost cause as the ring wasn’t found before the end of the day.

On Saturday, October 10, 2015, I got a call from Aaron who told me that he and a group of members from Suncoast Research and Recovery Club (SRARC) went out on Saturday morning with their metal detectors to locate this missing ring. He texted me the number of Mike Miller from SRARC who would provide details on getting the ring to us. I was beyond ecstatic. At a loss of words too. I called Mike and we talked about the ring and the significance of it and the efforts it took for his team to recover the ring. From the group of members who used their metal detectors in the water to find this ring to pinpoint the location of where this ring could be, I was amazed that random strangers would work tirelessly to help me! I told Mike that we were leaving for NY and couldn’t meet up personally since we were an hour away and at another function and mailing the ring to my address in NY was the best option.

We arrived back in NY from Florida and I opened the USPS package to find my missing ring!! This was UNBELIEVABLE and felt like a dream. I thought I had lost the ring for good in Florida and here it was back on my hand in NY.

As for me, I learned a few things with this experience. 1. To be a little bit more careful. 2. To realize and trust that there are good people all around you helping you. My wife and I had recently been fighting over many things, it was only 3½ months and we were honestly struggling with many things in our relationship this early into the marriage.  Honestly, losing the ring that day felt symbolic of how our relationship was going. Tossed into an ocean, lost in the sea without any hope or survival.

And being able to find the ring was symbolic of how much a journey of being married is and will be. There will be people (people you never expect to be pouring into the relationship) who will help you find your bearings and lead you into the right path. And this experience made me realize that life will take many turns and you’ll lose many things, but having hope and faith in people to help you will make a world of difference.

We are so grateful for incredible people in Florida who took time to help find my missing wedding ring. They were patient and tireless in their efforts making this rescue mission of my ring as if it was their own! From Aaron who had just moved down to Florida from Philadelphia on a work assignment who was a casually just combing the beach to Mike Miller and the SRARC team who worked together to find the missing ring….they found our treasure.

A special thanks to the SRARC team, Mike Miller, Stan Flack, Bill Gallant, and Mark Sillence, who took the time to make it a mission to find my wedding ring. We are incredibly grateful to you. Your time and efforts to help people find what was once lost. We remember your efforts.  You have brought a smile back onto my face and will be bringing smiles to many others who will need your help one day. Keep searching my friends, your treasure awaits! — good things will come to you and yours!

Mark was down on Gyro Beach for the evening with the boys. He dropped his wedding ring in the sand, knew where it was but the whole group after searching around, could not find it. He called me the next day, which was Thanksgiving Day, asking when I would be available to help him in his search. Experience tells me the sooner the better, I told him I will be there in 30 minutes. I got there before he did and could see by the scrape marks where they had been searching, 5 minutes later it was in my pouch. Mark arrived and was delighted to see his diamond wedding band, he tells me I saved his marriage.

Two Lost Diamond Rings Recovered in Hawi on the Big Island of Hawaii

Avesta and Hamid with Brent and Sylvie Madison after finding their lost diamond rings in Hawi on Hawaii's Big Island.

Avesta and Hamid with Brent and Sylvie Madison after finding their lost diamond rings in Hawi on Hawaii’s Big Island.

The beautiful lost and recovered rings of Avesta from the State Park in Hawi, Hawaii (Big Island).

The beautiful lost and recovered rings of Avesta from the State Park in Hawi, Hawaii (Big Island).

We got an urgent call from a family on vacation who had lost two diamond rings in the water near Hawi, Hawaii (Big Island), while swimming with their children in the ocean.

We drove about 1 hour and 45 minutes to the small State Park of Keokea to recover the rings and met them in the parking lot.

It turns out that Avesta had lost both of her precious rings – one a diamond ring with a whooping 2.75 carats in platinum. The disappointment of both Avesta and her husband, Hamid, was visible at loosing their valuable rings but they were both optimistic at our chances of finding them.

I put my mask on and hit the shallow water with my Excalibur II metal detector. After a 30 minute search we had found a pocket full of coins but no rings. Swinging back into a sandy area, suddenly I heard the low growl of platinum in my metal detector’s headphones. “I don’t want to give you false hope but think I’ve found a ring,” I said.

Sure enough, the basket held a gleaming ring with nine diamonds in a row. Hamid picked it out of the basket, happy, and eager to see if the second ring was also nearby. As I put the detector back in the water, a second signal was instantly in the headphones!  And right there, we recovered both rings, one after the other, where they had been lost and sunken into the sand. The second ring we recovered was a whooping 2.75 carat diamond ring – you can see the joy and surprise on their faces on the video – when getting back their lost – and now found – treasure!

“Lucky me that I found you guys. Thank GOD!!!!!” Avesta wrote in an email the next day.  “Phewwww so lucky I am!! FYI it was our 8 year anniversary the day you found the ring, makes it even more special.”

Lost Ring Found – Castle Rock Lake with Video

We recently were called up for a hunt to Castle Rock Lake, WI. Ring was lost at Alcatraz Island. We spent around 1.5 hours just trying to find the location they lost it in. The woman knew she had lost it there, but when we returned the landscape of the lake was totally different. The weekend before there were hundreds and hundreds of boats … the day we went up there were 5.

For the other lake hunters reading this, they can appreciate the difference that makes when trying to find a location in a lake. There are few landmarks to “grid” against. We had one photo taken from the day she lost it – which ended up being our treasure map. We spent 1.5 hours matching up that photo with the landscape, tree by tree. Then once we felt we were in the right location, I set up my 4 PVC pipes, which I use as grid markers in lake searches. 15 mins later – bingo. That feeling of pulling something so valuable out of a wide open lake is incredible.

We’ve started to GoPro our hunts, so below is a video from that day. I love capturing that moment we either show / tell someone we found their ring – truly priceless as you will hear in this video. I’ve also included a link to the full story of how the ring was lost and found from the woman’s point of view.

Lost Earring League City, Texas (Found) by John Volek

Lost Diamond Earring in the grass League City, Texas (Found)

I was contact by Ashley yesterday regarding her daughters lost earring at a residence in League City, Texas. Ashley said her daughter had finishing swimming lessons yesterday and was in the process of getting into dry clothes when her earring was snagged and pulled from her ear.

Ashley said they were pretty sure it landed in the grass where her daughter had been changing clothes. Ashley said her husband had found the earring backing in the street next to where they had been changing clothes. Ashley said the earring were very important to her, they had been purchased in Aruba for her daughter by her father. Ashley said they had spend several hours searching on their hands and knees for the lost earring in the grass.

Ashley said she found a friend on Facebook, who’s daughter had lost an earring and it had been found by a member of “The Ring Finders” You guessed right, I was that person, and Ashley placed the call. I told Ashley small earring can be an extremely difficult to locate and several variables could have an effect on a positive outcome.

Ashley and I both agreed it was worth a shot. We met today to search for the missing earring. Unfortunate as it is, I had a great GoPro video of this recovery, several special moments like Ashley’s daughter telling me I better find her missing earring, because her grandfather bought those for her. I some how again, jumped the GoPro camera into picture mode, and didn’t record a darn thing, sorry Ashley!

I am working a solution for this issue, hopefully this will be the last time “that Kodak moments are lost”

Additional notes, my most sensitive handheld pin-pointer the TRX was just barely able to recognize this very small earring.

Ashley directed me to the area needing to be searched, I used the AT Gold with the small super sniper coil and ran a test on the other matched earring. The AT Gold picked up the matched earring with a nice soft tone and a pretty consistent signal in the upper 50’s.  I was marking off several negative finds, using small orange stakes to by-pass the previously searched targets. None of them up to that point had that nice soft tone I was listening for.

A few feet outside of the search area, I heard a nice soft tone, and consistent numbers with that of the matched earring. I looked down and saw a slight glimmer of something shiny down in the grass “BINGO”, one happy mom an daughter.

Lost Wedding Ring “Found” in Houston, Texas by John Volek

Lost Wedding Ring Found in Houston, Texas

The Ring Finders Houston, Texas

07/12/2015

I was contacted  Anthony and Jackie regarding Anthony’s lost wedding ring at their apartments pool in Houston, Texas. Anthony said he had been playing in the pool with one of their children when he felt his ring fly of his finger. Anthony said he searched for several hours, but he and Jackie were unable to find he missing wedding ring.

Anthony and Jackie searched the internet and found “The Ring Finders” and placed the call.

I met with Anthony and Jackie today, and after surveying the site, I asked Anthony to get back into the swimming pool and demonstrate his actions when he lost his ring. I had Anthony place a quarter between his finders and we did several test throws to see where his ring might have landed.

The practice throws were the key, on his third practice throw with the quarter it landed on the opposite side of the swimming pool. This was an area previously not searched by Anthony and Jackie, not thinking the ring was on the opposite side of the pool.

The ring was found moments later and Anthony was re-united with his missing wedding ring.

Anthony and Jackie were a great couple and it was a pleasure helping them find their lost ring.

Lost White Gold Wedding Ring recovered in Falls Lake Beaver Dam swim area, in Wake Forest N.C. on 6/26/15..

  • from Hillsborough (North Carolina, United States)
Contact:

I recovered this Lost gold wedding  ring on 6/26/15 for nice young lady who lost it while swimming with her kids.  She explained that she lost her ring a few days earlier while she was playing with her kids in the water.  It appears that before she entered the water she was putting lotion on her and the kids and when she got in the water, the combination of the lotion and the water caused the ring to slip off her finger.  The ring was recovered in about 3 feet of water.. Here are some photos of the ring . It was a pleasure to help her out but the sad part is my detector developed a leak during the search which caused it to short out and break just after I found her ring. Atleast i was able to find her ring before it broke, I’m glad about that..
