Lost White Gold Ring with Diamonds Found by Dowsing in Detroit Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Out Of Town Gold!

A very nice couple were visiting Detroit just over a week ago and he fell down twice in the snow, his gold ring flew off during the ordeal. Not only was the snow coming down but it was dark and ice was underneath as they walked towards their destination. I met them the next day and searched where they thought they were when he fell. Searching in the mind numbing cold air, ice and deep hard packed snow with my MXT… nothing showed up. They had to leave for home. I decided to wait till the predicted thaw came thru this upcoming week and go back. In the meantime I decided to do a photo dowse of the pic She sent me indicating the 2 locations where they thought they were, marked green and blue and a pic of the ring on his finger. Over the next few I days dowsed over the pic, going thru various procedures to see what may come up. I started to get some positive attraction spots around the green circled area. So today I ventured back to the area. Arriving on site there was quite a nice thaw and I fig I would have better conditions to search. The MXT and I first searched the blue circled area, nothing. So I strolled quickly over to the green circled area. As I did a very wide visual line of sight type scan I noticed an object sitting on the sidewalk. I started to pick up the pace and as I got upon it I could not believe what I saw! It was the 14k RING WITH DIAMONDS! plain as day sitting vertically on the sidewalk! It had been trapped for quite awhile in an icy tomb. I had to stop and breathe deeply… regaining my composure….I was within about 5 feet of where the dowsing indicated! and because I simply could not believe that no one saw the ring and walked off with it! I quickly texted the couple with the news and pics, picked up the ring and got out of there! I met the couples friend today as well and the pic of me was just before I turned it over to her to return it to them this weekend! I’m hoping to get a pic from them holding the ring but if not I’m glad they are able to look back at their visit to Detroit as enjoyable despite the temporary loss of their ring!

KELOWNA RING LOST IN THE SNOW.

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)

Chris was out back of his condo walking his Australian Terrier in the snow, going back inside he realized he had lost his wedding ring. He found me on The Ringfinders website and gave me a call. I responded at 8am the next morning, Chris suspected that it came off while he was shaking the snow off a tree, we went back and searched under the tree, then started a circle around the tree. Within 10 minutes we had the ring and Chris was happy. A quick response and a good suspect location paid off.

Lost Diamond and Platinum earring recovered in West River, Maryland!

  • from Baltimore (Maryland, United States)
Contact:

I received a call on 1/21/19 for Holly stating she had lost one of her Platinum stud diamond earrings. Knowing there  isn’t a lot of “metal” to work with with studs, I was reluctant to have any hopes of recovering such a small item which is mainly composed of a non metal gem. Holly explained the circumstances in which she lost it and was 100% positive it was in a relatively small sandy area in her horse barn. We made plans to meet at the barn later that day. Once we met, Holly directed me to the barn and gave great detail in where she believed she was when she felt the earring come off. On the technical side of things, it was a challenging item to find being so small. Holly let me use its mate to “dial in” the sensitivity and other settings of my machine. Once I was able to hear the specific tone the item gave me, I got to work. Shortly thereafter…….

Here is the text from an email Holly sent me shortly after I left her with the lost earring in hand….

JUST CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR FINDING MY EARRING!  I WAS VERY UPSET LOSING IT AS IT WAS A SPECIAL ANNIVERSARY PRESENT FROM MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND.  I WILL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YOU TO ALL OF OUR FRIENDS! IF YOU DON’T MIND, I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE THIS ON MY FB PAGE?!  AGAIN THANK YOU FOR SUCH A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE FROM START TO FINISH!

WE HOPEFULLY WILL NEVER HAVE THAT HAPPEN AGAIN BUT IF WE DO, WE WILL CALL YOU FOR SURE!  THANKS AGAIN!

HOLLY AND TODD

It makes finding a lost item extra special when I get emails like that! Glad I could be of service Holly!

Lost Keys Found In The Snow In Grosse Pointe Woods Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Safe And Secure…..Again!

This pictured gentleman’s keys fell out of his pocket while operating a snow blower to clear the 6″ to 7″ snow that dropped in on the metro Detroit area Saturday afternoon. After a few passes in the backyard driveway he heard what he thought were sticks or something banging thru the machine. It wasn’t until he finished when he reached for his keys and they were gone. Now he was stranded and locked out as his wife was out of town. Before I got to the site today he managed to find the square portion of the car set on top of the snow in the neighbors yard. When I arrived I learned that there was a black vehicle key and his house keys still missing. Searching the drive area where he first heard the sounds in the machine my MXT said overload! and reaching down under the thin layer of snow produced the house keys and badly bent metal ring! Moving next in the trajectory where the square piece was on the snow took us into the yard next door. I knew from past searches for this type of key it produces a foil signal and a negative number on the meter depending on the key’s orientation. As my bigfoot coil sliced thru the sparkly layers of snow I got a foil/negative read about 4″ deep, cutting a deeper slice I pinpointed the key tipped slightly vertical in the snow and reaching into the snow produced the black car key! He said he was just about ready to jump up and down to warm up and as I held it up I said well this is a good reason too!
He was so thrilled that the keys were found, bringing that great feeling back to him that he and his family will be safe and secure again!

Lost Knife Found In Shelby Township Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

The Art Of Manliness Lives On!

What is manliness?, and how is it measured? If you were to google this there would be all kinds of answers. Most would agree to some point that they are all correct to a certain degree. But not too far in the past and to this day, it was and still is manly to carry a knife. Who doesn’t remember their dad or grandpa handing a pocket knife to a young boy at Christmas or out on that special hunting or fishing trip! Then the thrill of adventure building stories around it till it was time to pass it on to a true friend or family member. Thoughts of this were in this pictured man’s mind when he received a knife yesterday for Christmas. Living near a woodsy area filled with forest debris he went out for a hike with his friend and the knife became lost.
We decided to search this morning and when we got there we discovered more debris piled up where they were hiking. I searched the clear areas while he removed the piles of Christmas scented debris to give me a clear area to swing the metal detectors coil. Sloshing thru the mud I was getting lots of junk signals coming from pieces of concrete that had settled and were poking up thru the earth’s surface. I knew the metal in the knife would be reading in the positive section on my MXT. So annoying as it was to hear the junk I kept swinging. I thought for a moment that maybe someone who was dumping the debris since the knife was lost may have saw it and kept it. But after 40 mins I got a bouncy +52 to +68 on the meter. Pulling the pinpoint trigger switch showed 0 depth so I got the Garrett carrot out and probed around in the foliage and sure enough there it was! This silver blade of this gorgeous knife revealed itself! I waved over to him and he thought I wanted to take a break and I said yes..a big break!… don’t move another branch! When he got to me he was super elated that his sentimental gift wasn’t lost forever and will be able to have many stories to pass it forward someday and that nothing will ever get between him and his knife again!

White Gold Engagement Ring Recovered in Carrboro, N.C. on 12/5/2018

  • from Hillsborough (North Carolina, United States)
Contact:

I recovered and returned this beautiful white gold engagement ring on 12/5/2018 for a nice young lady who had lost it in a yard last February. She explained she had tried several times to look for it over the past months with no luck. After speaking with her about the ring I agreed to meet her there and try to find it for her. When I got there I started my search using my Electroscope long range locators to narrow down the search of the yard and find the strongest hot spot signals. I then got out my detector to start my search in the strongest signal area I felt my Electroscope was hitting on. After about 15 minutes of searching I found the ring in the area of interest my Electroscope locked onto. I was very happy to locate this beautiful ring for such a nice lady. Its always a good day when I can help someone recover what they lost.

Lost Property Markers (Irons) Found In Rochester Hills Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Brown Is The New Black,

Life for Princess began in a suburb north of Detroit. As a puppy she took quickly to chasing toys and keeping her owners quite active. As she grew and went out on hunts she was proud of her beauty, poise, talent and abilities to serve her master and became very demanding and impatient. You could tell by her expressions and continuous ultimatums when her owner fell short of bringing down game. She loved the thrill of the chase so much that she started to chase anything that flew by in her yard, sometimes taking her into neighboring yards. She’s harmless, everyone knew who she was in the neighborhood and referred to her as the dog with the pretty brown coat. Her owners tried lots of things to try and keep her from roaming and finally decided to put up a fence to keep her in the yard but still give her room to be active. The pictured gentleman called me and asked if I could locate property irons/markers as the fence co. would need them. With my land surveying skills and experience I agreed to come by today. Armed with my Sidewinder and the “treasure” property map we set out into the yard. After a few minutes of detecting in all metal mode, I was able to find all 4 of the irons, very rare, I havn’t done this in quite awhile, as most property markers are gone, removed by someone, rotted, or never were put in at all. The owner was happy that they can proceed with the fence and as we walked around Princess would be watching us, we sensed her laughing at the upcoming change in her freedom even tho her poise, posture and expressions convinced us that the fence wouldn’t hold her back from doing her best….. as she feels brown is still the new black!

Lost Gold Class Ring Found In Rochester Hills Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

A Class Act Reunion!

This pictured gentleman was assisting a tree trimming crew in his yard and while moving limbs and what not his size 10 14k class ring slipped off yesterday. Overnight there was an inch or so of snow as well. I knew from past searches this chunky ring would be reading in the high 50’s to low 60’s on my MXT meter. Chatting a bit he mentioned he was in the planning stages for a 45th year class reunion, making this search and recovery very special. Not remembering where he was in the yard but a general area I started to run a grid pattern right down the middle of the yard. I actually liked the snow since I could see my footprints where I was walking helping me get a better grid search! This is the only time you will see me say I enjoy SNOW! After just a few minutes and some random junk and iron signals I got a +60 zinc penny 0 depth signal blaring thru my headphones. Pinpointing the spot and brushing the snow aside revealed this beautiful gold ring shining up at me! As you can see he was super thrilled that his class ring was found and he will be able to truly have a class act reunion!

Lost Platinum Diamond Ring in Chattanooga Tennessee…Found

  • from Chattanooga (Tennessee, United States)

Conner contacted me late Sunday afternoon, on October 28th, around 5:00 PM.  The ring was actually platinum, my first one, so I wasn’t certain what it would read on the CTX.  It gave me a solid 12-03, in the high-trash mode, very similar to white gold. I have attached a couple photos of the happy lady.

Testimonial:

“After a heavy rain, the night before, my fiancée and I were getting one of our cars unstuck in the yard. Little did we expect her engagement ring would go flying off her finger into the grass. We both quickly went into a panic as this is a family diamond passed on for generations. We tried everything to find the ring from crawling for hours to borrowing our neighbor’s metal detector. After six hours we were running out of daylight. I got online and found Ed Hart! He understood how important it was and drove over immediately to help find it. Within three minutes he had found her RING! We can not thank Ed enough. It is hard to find such wonderful people like him! Thanks again Ed you a lifesaver! ”

Lost White Gold Ring Found in Gibraltar Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

A Birthday To Remember!

This pictured lady had a birthday party for her son last Saturday out in the yard. As rain started to come down she was hurrying to gather the children and during the rush her ring came off. When I talked with her she said the ring was a silver one. I went by Sunday and searched a bit looking for silver signals on the MXT but more heavy rain came thru the area hampering the search.
As we got to talking about when to search again, I asked again what material the ring was and asked her if she had any paperwork on the ring. So today when we met she showed me that the ring was gold but silver colored! So now I would be looking for the numbers where white gold shows up on the MXT. I’ve always tried to include the children on my hunts when possible and I noticed the pictured lil’ guy taking a keen interest. After grid searching most of the area I finally got a +14 +16 signal at 0 depth.
As the Garrett carrot neared the ground surface it gave that warm, inviting vibration that said I’m here! So just down in the grass a bit this stunning white gold ring with diamonds sparkled up at me! Her son was thrilled to be my helper and as you can see I now have an expert pin pointer and future treasure hunter in the making! Mom couldn’t believe I found her ring, her smile tells the story and recovering it brought an extra joy to a birthday to remember!
