Available to help you now .. 949-500-2136.    *** I was visiting my daughter on a Sunday evening when Chan called. She had lost her husband’s gold wedding ring at Crystal Cove in Newport Beach. She had put his ring in a zippered pocket of her purse. The purse had been moved around their little beach spot sea real times during the day. At the end of the day she notice the zipper pocket open and the ring was not there.

They were unable to find the ring so the returned home to Los Angeles more than 40 miles away. After she told me her story I was sure the ring had to be in the sand at the beach. Chan was too far away to meet me but I know could attempt a search without her. It is a small beach.

When I arrived at the beach it was dark. There was still an hour left till the park rangers would close the beach. After the first half hour I was running out beach to search. I called Chan to verify that I was in the right location. I was exactly in front of all the landmarks she given me. I did a second grid over the same area. Then I moved 30 feet to the south were I got the magic sound of gold in my headphones. One scoop and I had Chan’s husband’s wedding band in my hand. I took a photo and sent it to her. She met me the next day to pick up the ring, A happy and grateful lady. She was proud that she had the presence of mind to google search for a ringfinder. I was happy that she called right away instead of emailing or texting me.

>>> Kevin lost his tungsten wedding ring while playing volleyball at Bolsa Chica State Beach. Even though he immediately felt the ring slip off, he and other family members could not find the ring. 

His wife Jillian was able to locate me by doing a google search. After she called, telling me what had happened, I was able make arrangements to meet them at the location. It was easy to tell them that we had a good chance to find the ring, so don’t waist time trying to find it by hand searching. 

It didn’t take long to get to the beach but all the beach parking was full and they weren’t allowing cars to enter the parking lots. With a line of cars backed up about a half of a mile waiting for state park to allow more cars to enter, the nearest parking was maybe two miles away. Then the miracle happened, at 5 pm they started allowing cars to pass into the beach parking.

Two hours to get to the beach meeting Jillian and Kevin at the volleyball court. Then a short search with a successful recovery. They were surprised and happy to have the special ring back. Kevin couldn’t believe it was so easy to find. I explained it was only a matter of having the right tool for the right job. Metal detectors work well to find rings if you have a quality detector and you know how to use one.

It was a pleasure to help Jillian and Kevin. We had a little trouble getting to the site then we were lucky enough to have good idea of where the loss occurred. These call out are all different and tend to be little mini adventures.

Ring Recovery in Belmar NJ by Dennis Burlingame

While at work I got  call from Sriharsha who asked for help in locating his ring he lost while swimming at Belmar. Seems he got hit by a wave and knocked down, when he got back up him ring was missing. Told him I’d  meet him after work. He took me to where he was swimming and I started to look. 2 hours in the water and on the slope I couldn’t find it. I told him I’d try again the next night at low tide with a friend of mine to help. We got there a little before low tide and I found the ring mid slope. Called him and made arrangements to meet him to pick up his ring. He was so grateful and didn’t think he’d ever see his ring again. In my haste I forgot to ask for a picture of him in the return ( sorry ). But the smile on his face did say it all.

White Gold Wedding Ring With Diamonds Lost at Torrance Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

I received a call yesterday from Jon, he was on vacation with his family from Texas. They took a trip to the beach to enjoy their last day in California before flying home. He was out in the surf amongst the breakers, when he got hit by a wave that knocked his ring off of his finger into the churning surf. Shocked to realize his ring was gone, he began trying to find it with goggles on, and the breaking waves moving him all around. He spent about 3 hours searching before he found me on The Ring Finders web site. When he called I asked my general questions, and after he said he did not think he was too deep, I let him know I would be there soon.

When I got there Jon met me, and took me over to the area of the loss. He explained what had happened, and how deep he thought he was. The problem was that the tide was coming in, and now 3 hours later was probably out of reach for me, by the look of the breaking waves. I did a search the best I could out in the surf, with not even a signal, it had been too long, so I told Jon, I would come back at 3:00 AM today when the tide would be at its lowest for the day and do another search. I let him know he would be welcome to meet me if he was so inclined, and he accepted the invitation. I got to the beach a little before 3:00 AM and began my search. About 10 minutes later Jon, his wife, and Father in Law came over to where I was searching. I had a couple of faint signals that caused me to dig deep thinking the ring had sunk deep into the soft sand, only to come up empty. Then a couple of passes later I was out in the water about knee deep when I received a good strong signal, dug, rinsed, and there in the bottom of my scoop was Jon’s ring. For the ring to still be knee deep showed that Jon had been much deeper than he originally believed because of today’s 1.3 minus tide. I walked right over to them and presented it to him, to which they were all surprised. So by 3:30 AM Jon had his ring of 10 years back on his finger. He told me he thought it had been gone for good, and that is why we do what we do, to find that which people thought they would never get back, and produce such great smiles. So thankful to make a happy ending to their California vacation, and make their trip back to Texas a pleasurable one!

Lost Gold Engagement Ring – FOUND!!! – Orange Beach, AL

I have to say that today was probably  my favorite return of the year. It had all the elements of a great day. I got the call late in the afternoon so I didn’t have to take off work,  it was a super nice couple, they weren’t sure if it was in the water or the sand, they had dug for it extensively, they had asked a stranger with a metal detector to look in the area and last but not least, there were tons of people around watching that were vested in the return because they had been watching them search all day. When Luke called me saying that Emily had dropped her engagement ring in Orange Beach I knew I had to go and help. They had been throwing a football and when they sat back down Emily’s beautiful gold and diamond engagement ring was nowhere to be found. I got some info from Luke and quickly headed that way from Pensacola. When I got to the condo the security guard told me that there was no guest parking but he would give me one hour before I had to go. I hustled down to the beach and there were still people everywhere. Most of them were closely watching what I did so you could tell that they knew all about the missing ring. Even more than normal I wanted to do my best because I knew I had an audience. After a few questions, I started out on the beach and then headed down the path they had walked to the water. I assumed that it was probably in the water so I then went over a pattern in the breaking waves and moved over the sand drop off in case it had been sucked back into deeper water. When I was coming up the beach, Luke and Emily stopped me and said that they had been discussing it and they thought they were in the very top of the breaking water which would have been higher up the beach earlier in the day. I quickly started swinging up there and was on my second pass when I heard a very faint sound. Throughout the search I had found a few targets that I dug but nothing was a good signal. This time it was a little higher pitched but it was so deep that I was intrigued. I almost ignored it thinking that there was no way it could be that deep with only a half day in the sand. Then I remembered that they had been digging for it so I decided to go ahead and see what was down there. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the gleam of gold in the scoop. Emily and Luke immediately celebrated with me and it was then that I realized just how many people were watching the drama unfold. The whole beach erupted into cheers and applause!  😃. I had to run to the parking lot to convince the security guard not to tow my car and give me a bit longer for pictures but he was very understanding. On the way out the young man and his family who had offered help with their metal detector came running up and told me that their was a lady on the beach who needed my help. When I told them that I had found her ring the young man thought that was the coolest thing in the world. I answered about 100 questions but I’m pretty sure I have hooked him and his father on this hobby for life. I am absolutely thrilled that I could return this beautiful ring to Emily and Luke. Lost and Found ring in Sand Banks Provincial Park

I received a call from Dillan about him loosing his college graduation ring in Sand banks Provincial park. The evening prior, him and his girlfriend were playing frisbee at this beach, when the ring flew off her finger. He’d given it to her as a promise ring.  After a short pontoon ride and a couple hours of water metal detecting in waist water deep, I was able to reunite him with his beloved ring that his mom had given him for his graduation ceremony. Great seeing his reaction and another happy ending.

Lost Ring – Fort Morgan,AL -FOUND!!!

This is Whitney who was down with her family from Arkansas visiting Fort Morgan when she lost her brand new ring somewhere on the beach or in the Gulf. She was absolutely distraught because she and her husband Justin had been married for 13 years and finally decided to get this beautiful ring for Whitney. In her own words she knew that she shouldn’t wear it to the beach but she was just so proud of it that she couldn’t leave it behind. I always tell people to NOT dig for their rings because especially with gold the density difference makes the ring drop farther and farther into the sand. I also tell people that a cheap detector from Academy does not have the capability of finding a ring on a saltwater beach after an inch or two. Unfortunately, this ring was a prime example of both of these rules.  The night before, Whitney and Justin had driven to Foley and bought a cheap detector and dug all night at false signals making things worse. Luckily for them, my detectors can read much deeper than that and luckily for them I’m a sucker for a good story so I left at the crack of dawn to make the several hour round trip out to see if I could help. When I got there Whitney wasn’t sure if the ring was in the water or not since they had gone over the beach with the Academy detector. I told her I would start on the beach and then if it wasn’t there I would move into the water. I could see all of the disturbed sand where they had been digging so I set my machine and walked to the edge of the area to start my grid pattern. I have to say that I was a little surprised when I swung the coil to the left and before I could even complete the first swing I got a solid loud gold signal. It was a no brainer and I gently dug it out of the ground from 6 inches deep. Whitney hadn’t even walked over to her chair yet so she didn’t see me get the ring. She had mentioned earlier on the phone that they hadn’t had a good day yet because of losing the ring. I walked over and held it out and said “maybe, you can have a great day starting now.”  Needless to say, she was shocked and thrilled. She couldn’t believe that I had found it that quickly in the exact spot they had searched and dug for hours the night before. I’m so glad that I could give you back your ring and finally start your vacation right.

Lost Ring in the Gulf – Orange Beach

This was an awesome return!  My new friends Kathryn and Matt has been down from Ohio enjoying beautiful Orange Beach. Kathryn learned that there are positives when you solder your rings together but the big negative is that if you were to lose one, you lose all three. That’s exactly what happened when she was throwing a ball in about chest deep water and her rings went flying in the Gulf. She found out about me 2 days later and when she called she was very worried that she had waited too long and the rings were lost forever. I told her that I had a really good track record with rings in the water and that as long as it was still there and hadn’t sunk too deep in the sand, I thought I could find it. When I got there, the whole family was in attendance and although Kathryn was trying her best to appear optimistic, I could tell that she was truly worried. I felt for her and Matt and I got in the water on a mission. I heard a couple of higher tones which would not indicate gold but I always like to dig a few things so I can get idea of depth. I got a couple of coins in a row and I realized that I had told Kathryn and Matt that I would probably dig some other things but I had not told the whole family. I saw (maybe the brother-in-law) checking out my coin digging and I thought to myself that I needed to make sure I dug everything very visibly. I was excited when the very next tone I went over sounded like gold. I very gently dug it up and put it on my finger and starting wiggling my fingers so the bro-in-law could see. When he realized I had it by the smile on my face, he yelled to Matt and Matt yelled to Kathryn. They all sprinted down to me and before I was even out of the water Kathryn was in tears and had her arms spread wide open for a hug. When Matt got choked up too I told them I knew how they felt and that’s why I do this. That will never get old. I’m so very happy for y’all!  Congratulations! 💍

Lost Gold Earring In The Grass Found In Harrison Township Michigan

Mom’s Gift!

The pictured lady was in a real jam last night when she got home. Getting out of the car she flipped her workbag over from one shoulder to the other, knocking her gold earring off. The earrings were a gift from her mom and custom made while they were on an overseas vacation…. virtually irreplaceable. She realized it was missing as she was taking them off before bed. Frantically searching the vehicle in the dark revealed nothing. I chatted with her this morning and it sounded very strongly that the earring went into the grass. When I got there I took a read off the matching one and got a real low number on the MXT and orienting the ring to replicate how it may be sitting in the grass gave me different numbers. So I memorized them and started a grid search. In just a few minutes I got a similar read and pinpointed the signal with my Garrett carrot. Feeling around thru the thick grass and yard lettuce revealed the golden matching earring that meant the world to her! Now they will shine together again, sweet flowers of love….Mom’s Gift!

Lost Cell Phone in Myrtle Beach, SC – Found and Returned

George called me from his wife’s phone saying he had lost his phone and wanted to know if I could help find it. When he gave me the hotel name, I was pretty sure he was in Myrtle Beach, which he confirmed. That’s Matt Fry’s area, so I told George that I’d call Matt and one of us would call him back within 10 minutes. I didn’t have any luck getting a hold of Matt, so I called George back and told him I’d be there in about 30 minutes.

When I arrived at the beach, it was pretty crowded. I called George to let him know I was there and he said he’d be right down from the hotel. When he arrived on the beach he pointed out the area, which at the time, was being occupied by two young ladies. As I started walking over to them to ask them if they’d mind moving, they started packing up to leave, so no problems.

I started doing an east/west grid line, and on the third leg I got a 31-32 on the Equinox 800 so I knew I had he’s phone. Surprisingly, the phone was deeper than it should have been after less than 2 hours of being in the sand. I very carefully used my scoop to get the phone out of the sand, saw it lying in the hole, and reached down and pulled it out. George was in a little bit of shock, but very happy he had his phone back.

George, thanks for contacting me to help find your phone. Have a great rest of your vacation and a safe trip home.
