Lost gold and diamond ring found – Marco Island

While spending the day with his family in Marco Island and playing in the waves with his son, Thomas realized his gold band was no longer on his finger.  After spending the afternoon looking with a metal detector without any luck, his wife took to the internet and posted the loss.  A few responses came back “you gotta call Mark!”  Well his wife found Mark, and I was down there with an hour searching.  Well so were several other metal detectors too that had seen the post.  The rest is now history, found the ring in the abyss, and now their story continues.  Remember it’s only list until you call…God does hear and answers prayers! 🙏🏻🎉

** Jazi was at the beach late at night with his friend. After he walked off the beach he realized he must have dropped his car keys somewhere between where he was sitting on the beach and his parked car. 

I received a call from Jazi about 2am in the morning. I knew he was desperate and was willing to go help him except he said he was at Torrey Pines State Beach. Too far of a drive for a search that hour of the night. The next morning he called me back explaining he was actually at Victory Beach which is in the city of Laguna Beach. It is only a 15 mile drive for me. 

He was at work when I talked to him and wasn’t able to meet me at the location. To make things worse, his car was still at the location.

No problem for me to do a search at this beach without him to show me a possible area of the loss. He was able to explain where he had been. I know this beach very well so I was able to get there and find his keys. 

Now, without a way to pick up his keys, I volunteered to bring the keys to his work place. The good news is later that day his  friend took him to pick up his car before it was towed or ticketed.

Engagement ring recovered in Green Bay snow.

In early January, I received a message about a lost engagement ring from Emma, who was playing in the snow at night at her future mother-in-law’s home, and it slipped off somewhere in the yard next to the driveay .   They had shoveled the snow aside the next day and looked carefully, but could not find it.     I brought my trusty Garrett AT Pro, but decided to teach Emma how to use an analog Tesoro Umax, and perhaps recruit another potential metal detectorist to the hobby!   Sure enough, after a few surface coins popped out, she found a clear “ringy” signal.  I brushed away the snow, and revealed a beautiful emerald and gold ring that took my breath away.    I could see why she was concerned!   Her beautiful ring was back on her finger and she and her fiancé were relieved.

Lost Gold Wedding Band at 4 Seasons Resort Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

This ring find began as I was exiting the 4 Seasons Lagoon at Ko Olina Resort.  A gentleman named Matt had asked my bud Terry if I had found a wide gold wedding ring and not knowing, he told the gentleman to ask me as I was exiting the water.  So Matt who was on his Honeymoon from Paso Robles, California approached me as I was exiting the water and asked if I had found a wide gold wedding band while I was hunting the lagoon.  He described perfectly the 18K Gold Band I just found about 30 minutes earlier in chest deep water.  To be sure it fit him perfectly and he recognized and described a gash the ring had in it.  Matt’s lovely bride Megan joined us and told me they thought it would never be found after losing it the day before.  They were thinking it would be out to sea by now.  Thankfully the lagoons are calm and most rings just sink to the bottom and stay put.  Matt and Megan were very appreciative and happy their Honeymoon was back on a high note. Neil decided to put his wedding band in the pocket of his beach chair for safekeeping while he spent time on the beach with his wife and friends in Ocean City, NJ. After he got back to his house, he went to look for the ring but discovered a hole in the pocket instead. He gave me a call and exained the situation. The ring could have dropped in the sand by the chair or anywhere along the path they walked home. I met him where the group sat and started the search there. There were several targets, mostly Matchbox cars, that I had to weed out, and then I heard the tone from the metal detector I was expecting, the sound of the ring. Now their weekend getaway in Ocean City, NJ was able to end on a high note!

Lost engagement ring recovered using teamwork. Lincoln, Nebraska

Moira got ahold of me and said she had noticed on Saturday at the 6th hole of a golf course that her irreplaceable engagement ring was not on her finger. I asked when was the last time she knew she had it. She said Wednesday night. Wow we were looking at a big window with lots of real estate. We talked for over an hour, narrowing down places to look and shortening the timeline. I agreed to meet at her house the next day. We talked about things she was going to look through in her house and I was going to work the outside, detecting and endoscoping her car. She went inside and I started to set up a grid to cover every square inch of where she threw balls for her two dogs. After some time she appeared outside with a big beautiful. She had found it while going through some places she had ran her hands. This truly was a great example of what teamwork with an experienced Ring Finder can accomplish.

Phone tag to find the Key Fob owner in Kelowna.

Friday night I received a phone call from a fellow detectorist, who asked if I could assist a lady with a lost key Fob. He gave me the ladies number, but the  group of ladies stranded could not identify the park where they where at, they forwarded me on to their Aunt from Edmonton. By the time we figured it out it is was dark, I told them I would be there the next morning.  Saturday morning I got there at 7am, without any specific location, just by the parked red Mazda, sand or maybe the grass? I started gridding the sand, and after 30 minutes I had the Car Fob. I phoned the Aunts number, phone not in use, so I called the initial detectors request, and he did not know, but his brother did, I called his brother who contacted the lady and said she would call me back. Her friends turned up and sure enough it was their Key Fob. They started the car and drove it to the owner. Key fobs are expensive to replace, especially with the car stranded.

Lost White Gold Wedding Band at Hale Koa Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a text from Brittany who was on vacation from Dallas Texas.  Her text said she got my info from Don my fellow ring finder on Oahu and said her husband Michael lost his white gold wedding ring on Hale Koa Beach in the dry sand.  I told her I was getting off work soon and would grab my gear and head right down.  I told her I would come down the board walk and just flag me when I came in sight.  When I arrived on location Michael was already removing beach items from the search area and showed me the area he thought the ring would be.  I fired up the “Beast” my Manticore off course and started the hunt.  My first target screamed a “36” and in one scoop there was Michael’s precious Tacori white gold wedding ring.  Brittany asked if that was my fastest recovery and i said, “No, I actually turned my detector on at Turtle Bay and the ring was under my coil.  But this for sure is second quickest!!!  They sincerely thanked me and I wished them well on the rest of their vacation.  Aloha to Michael & Brittany!

I got a call from Lake Country BC, a one hour drive away, the gentleman told me he had lost his 18k yellow gold and ruby ring that his wife presented to him years ago. He hosted his sons wedding in his back yard around the pool, and lower patio area last Fall, he lost the ring removing lighting from around the pool. He had photographs from the patio showing that he had the ring before the lights removal, he suspected it was in the Basalt rocks around the patio, below where the lighting was, he thought it probably came off during the removal. His search had no results, I told him would respond the first good weather day. Yesterday was that day, I spent almost 2 hours gridding the area, and advised him the I was convinced that it was not there,  he responded that I was probably his last resort. I told him stories of past recoveries where the lost item often turned up the trash bags where leaves etc had been placed, and suggested he take down his packing boxes where he stored the lights and search them, he agreed and said that was also his plan. That evening he called to say he had found the ring, and thanked me for my time and travel, and that I was his inspiration to take down the boxes and search them,  his last hope was the boxes.
