FOUND! Wedding ring at La Jolla Shores Beach San Diego

         When I got home on Monday evening, a message was waiting patiently on my recorder. It seems Jeremy’s wedding ring slipped off his finger while at the beach with his wife and child…..the same beach I was at the day before! On Sunday, I found a ring, necklace w/pendant, and an earring at the same beach and area where he lost his the following day! What? is there some sort of jewelry black hole on that beach??

        He was fairly sure of the area in which it was lost and since I was also familiar with that particular beach, We were able to narrow the search area quite a bit just talking on the phone. I felt confident enough that I would be able to hunt for the ring on my own since he had to work the next day and couldn’t be on hand to show me where the X spot was.

         I arrived early the next morning and headed for the search area. There were dozens of surfers out in the waves and dozens more walkers strolling down the beach on the wet hard packed sand at the waters’ edge but only one group of people in the dry sand. Naturally, they were right in the middle of ground zero! You could look a mile in each direction and not see a soul but they chose that particular spot to do their palates or yoga or whatever it was they were doing. They probably thought I was some kind of nut or pervert invading their space when I had the whole beach to do my thing but little did they know what was under their mats.

      I started hunting as far away from them as possible and still be in the probable search area and after a half hour or so they had finished and moved off to enjoy the rest of their day. I finished the area they had coveted and not finding Jeremy’s ring yet, worked my way south another 20 feet or so when it screamed at me to get it out of the sand. Ring and finger have been reunited and another smile generated. My work was done. I gotta keep these Coast Guard guys happy…..never know when I might need THEIR help!

Found Wedding & Engagement Rings at The Dog Park, Kits Beach.

Just before I was getting ready to call it a night I received an email that a young lady had lost both her wedding & engagement rings at the dog park at Kits Beach. I emailed the person right away and asked them to call me, minutes later we were discussing the search.

Because the rings were lost at such a high risk area…(beach and by a log) I knew that we’d have to get out ASAP to search for the rings. The young man agreed to meet me at 11:45 pm, we met and he showed me the area he thought the rings would be in…

After a few swings of my metal detector and no rings I began to move to the front of the log where they never searched for the rings and within a minute I found one of the rings…

 

 

Minutes after the wedding ring was found I found the engagement ring! Smiles all around! The rings were not where he thought they’d be but its my job to think of why they’re not there and expand my search area. For some reason the rings were deep! After discussing the search he told me that they have a 70 lb. dog that was play right were the rings where found…

 

I love my job!

Lost Wedding Ring Litchfield Minnesota

Shannon was out in the water about 15 feet off her dock when a football toss kn

ocked her Wedding Ring off her finger into the water. the water is about 10 feet deep in this area and there is no visibility at all. Her husband Matt dove down several times to retrieve the ring but to no avail. Shannon contacted me and told me that her 13th wedding anniversary was this coming Monday. So, we planned on our search for that day. She put me exactly were the ring had fallen into the water and 5 minutes later…..the ring was back on her finger. Happy anniversary Shannon And Matt!!! Glad we could help out.

Lost Wedding Ring Prior Lake Minnesota

Ellen was sitting out on her dock bench when her wedding ring slipped off her hand into the water.  Her Husband tried to find it, though it is a tough task with poor visibility in the water and the ring is easily hidden by the muck at the bottom of the lake. Ellen called the ring finders and it was a quick find. Only a few minutes. Glad we could help!

Lost Wedding Ring…Daytona Beach, Florida…FOUND!

One afternoon in beautiful Daytona Beach Kevin was enjoying a fun game of disc golf at a local park. Mid-game he realized that his wedding ring was missing! Earlier that day he remembered having to wade into a small pond to look for his disc and thinking at the time that his ring felt a bit loose. He returned to the pond and looked for some time for his ring but soon realized with all the mud and the murky water it would be next to impossible to find. Later that evening as Kevin was searching online for a way to find his ring he came across theringfinders.com. After reading some of the stories and information he found my name in the directory. That evening he sent me an e-mail describing his situation and asked me if I could help him out. I immediately sent him back a response and we set up a time to meet at the park the next day.
I took my Tiger Shark water detector and my Whites DFX to search both water and land at the site. After meeting Kevin and listening to his story he showed me the area in which he was sure the ring was lost. I choose the TS and into the cool murky water I stepped. The bottom of the pond was very muddy and was full of long grass like plants. I first tried clearing out the exact spot where Kevin said he was searching for his disc. There were the usual junk targets like nails and a few coins and even a section of an old fishing pole. I had a medium sized long handled sand scoop that worked well for digging in the mud and after an hour of no luck I finally came up with the ring in the bottom of the scoop and you should have seen the look on Kevin’s face! Surprise, shock, joy and the look of “I can’t believe you actually found it!!” A look which quickly turned to “Oh Yea! You really did find it!!”
It has been my honor and privilege to once again help a person in need and I am so glad for Kevin and his little family that their happy story continues and the ring has been returned to it’s rightful place!

Tungsten wedding ring found in Washington park – Denver, Colorado

Joe Gaughan was preparing to play in a volleyball tournament when he plut some sun block on to protect his exposed skin. While doing so he placed his Tungsten wedding band into his pocket of his shorts so that he wouldn’t loose his ring. After playing a couple of games he realized that his ring was gone from his pocket. Both teams stopped playing and got on their hand and knees and searched the court in a organized directional search. No ring was found and tournament had to go on.

Joe is a personal friend of mine and so he texted me that afternoon explaining the situation. We met at the location of the tournament the following Monday afternoon as Joe could not get away from the office till lunch time. He explained the events that took place around the loss of  the ring one more time and took me to the locaiton of the volleyball court. I tuned my detector and within a few minutes Joe had his ring back on his fingure.

Ring recovered in Northglenn front yard

Joe Pfifer lost his 14 karat white gold wedding band while doing yard work. Something as simple and mundane as removing dried up leaves from the shrubbery in front of their home on a cool spring morning had caused Joes ring to slip from his finger.

Joe had tried searching for the ring visually and even researched on-line on how to search for lost rings which is how he found “Ring Finders”. And with the thought of somebody who knew what they were doing as opposed to Joe giving it a go on his own, Joe contacted me.

When I met up with Joe he explained what he was doing and the location of his efforts to clean up the yard. Within a few short minutes I had recovered Joe’s ring from under the tree bark mulch that was hiding it from sight. This search area was being hindered by metal edging, but when you know your machine interference from such can be minimized.

Wedding ring found in back yard – Lakewood, Colorado

Olivia Frank had lost her wedding ring in her back yard. The couple had searched the yard extensively without any luck. After 6 months of worry and frustration they found “Ring Finders” and through that my contact information. We made arrangements and set a meeting date for me to join them at their home for a brief talk and survey of the site.

My first trip to their house gave me the story of the rings loss and the layout of the yard. I managed to get in about three hours of search time before rain and snow drove me off the hunt site. I was certain that the ring was not in the portion of the yard they swore it in.

Upon my second trip to their house I went over the area that I had previously searched with two other detectors and no ring. I then expanded my search area and started running another search pattern. After another three hours of searching I ended up finding the ring several feet away from the expected location.

“Liv” was so excited and happy that she began to tear up when she got her hands on her ring again. It did need a good cleaning by a jeweler, but that is what happens when a ring is left to the elements for several months.
