I was tagged by several folks in a post on Cape May Live. The poster was asking for people to keep an eye out for her husband’s gold ring that slipped off in the surf. I messaged the couple and we chatted back and forth about what exactly happened and where. She was able to outline the specific area and time of day that the loss occurred. Timing wise, I felt that the best chances would be during the low tide cycle the following morning. I took the 5 minute ride for home yesterday morning and began searching. After about 1 hour or so I got the signal I was searching for and out popped the ring from thigh deep surf. The couple confirmed the inscribed date and picked up the ring yesterday afternoon. They both thought the ring was “gone forever” after 27 years of marriage. Another happy couple!

I received a message from Genevieve Sunday afternoon explaining that she had lost her wedding ring in the sand while at the beach with her family. She had placed her ring in the cupholder of her beach chair to apply sunscreen. Later, her husband folded and relocated their belongings as the tide was moving. He had no idea that his wifes ring was in the chair when he folded the chair and once folded the ring disappeared into the sand. After the couple realized what had happened they began frantically searching for the ring. Other beach goers saw them searching and pitched in to search as well, even one of the lifeguards lent a hand! After a while, the group came up empty handed. Thats when Genevieve reached out for help. Usually I dont travel to Brigantine on Sundays as Northbound traffic can be horrendous but I could tell that Genevieve was upset and really needed some help. I took the ride up and met with the couple on 31st street beach. After a brief discussion I began searching the areas outlined by her husband. About 45 minutes later I had her ring in the scoop. Genevieve explained that the ring was so special as it contained diamonds from her grandmothers wedding ring and was very special to the couple! The entire beach was thrilled to see the ring! Another happy couple!
Genevieves review of service:
“Your service was wonderful: you were calm, professional and reassuring. Of course, you found my ring. So the service speaks for itself – but your customer service was really perfection !”

Lost Wedding Ring In The Ocean Found And Returned – Emerald Isle, NC

Crystal Coast Ring Finders – Emerald Isle, NC

Victor called me on a recommendation.  He stated he lost his wedding band of 3 years while enjoying the ocean.  I made plans to hunt before the next low tide (12:15 a.m.) and that was very late so I said there may be a chance it’s on the beach so I began searching just after 10:30.

Victor and his friends and family had gathered above the location and they knew just where Victor’s custom made gold band was lost.

I started my grid search well above the current tide and progressed down to the waves rolling onto the beach.  Just as I my boots were getting wet and the grid lines in the sand were being washed away, I hit a very strong signal.  Being that the ring was large, my detector screen displayed the high end of what a gold ring would signal.  One scoop into the sand and the following wave cleared out the sand.  I peaked inside and saw that beautiful golden circle!  I walked up to the group who had phones and lights running and let the ring roll out of the sand scoop in front of them.  It was a great feeling watching them celebrate the recovery!

Oura Ring Lost in Sand at Playa Del Rey Beach…Found and Happily Returned.

If you lost your ring or other important item, please call right away because time will work against a successful recovery. Steve Smith: 310-953-5268

Madison called on 4th of July night after losing her Oura ring. I figured the beach would be full of people shooting off their fireworks, so I asked if we could do the search the next morning.

I got there a little before Madison, and could see that the beach had not been cleaned. She took me out to the area, and proceeded to take out her phone and look around. I asked if the ring had a find my ring feature, which she said it did. She gave me an area, and when I swung my detector, I got a signal, dug, and had her ring. That app put her right on top of it; AMAZING! I was able to give it to her, which made her day.

Gold Wedding Band Lost During Emerald Isle Beach Trip Found Off Beach

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

David gave Crystal Coast Ring Finders a call just before dark.  He stated he went to the beach and upon returning to his home, noticed his wedding band, he never removes, was gone.  David asked if I wanted to search the following day and I asked if he was near a public access on the beach.  I was worried with the popularity of metal detecting, someone would find the ring before morning.  David said yes it was near a public place so I said I would get there as soon as possible.

Upon arrival, I picked up David and we rode closer to the beach access.  David showed me where he parked his golf cart then grabbed a chair and a cooler and headed to the beach. I noticed there were about 5 vehicles parked.  We arrived at the place where he was sitting and a small group was nearby for a sea turtle hatch about to happen.  Fortunately, David was sitting far enough away I was able to search all around where he was sitting.  Nothing but trash was found during the beach search and I also searched the sand up to the steps leading to the street.  After a very thorough search, we returned to the parking area where it was now very dark and a vehicle was now in the area David’s golf cart was earlier that day.  I turned my headlamp on high beam and started to search around the vehicle.  I was looking for the bright reflection of the light beam on David’s ring.  Finally moving the back of the vehicle, and close to David, I spotted his ring laying in the street edge.  David was very relieved after snatching it up from the road.

I told him earlier, “I hate when I can’t find it!”.

Engagement ring lost and found in Whitefield, Maine

  • from Rockport (Maine, United States)

Jenna was referred by fellow Ring Finder Dennis Boothby after losing her amethyst and diamond engagement ring at the Sheepscot General Store and Farm in Whitfield, during a strawberry picking family outing a week ago. I decided to begin my search in the grassy parking area before venturing into the strawberry patch. After about 10 minutes I located and reunited Jenna with her ring after finding it nestled in the grass and clover near where they had parked. Through tears of joy she explained that the ring had belonged to her fiancées grandmother and the thought of having to explain it being lost to her in-laws had been overwhelming.

I received a call from Taylor last week. Taylor explained that she was on the beach visiting for the day from PA and she believes that she may have dropped her wedding band into the water. I took the short ride over and met up with Taylor and her husband in front of Wildwood convention hall. While walking down towards the beach, Taylor explained that she had removed all three of her rings and placed them in the same pocket with her cell phone. Later on, she had waded out to about calf deep water and pulled her phone out to grab a few pictures. When she pulled out her phone Taylor beleived that one of her rings came out with the phone and dropped into the ocean water. It was just about high tide when I initially met with the couple and I explained that it may be best to wait for low tide to try and recover the ring. Later, the same day, I rode back over and began searching for Taylors ring. I managed to recover her ring a short time later. Taylors ring was shipped back to her the very next day. Another happy and relieved couple!
Taylors review / recommendation:
“Absolutely would recommend Jeffrey if you end up losing anything at the beach! Lost a wedding band in Wildwood while we were down for the day and he was able to recover it and send it back to me! He was very helpful and accommodating!”

Received a call from Robert this afternoon. Robert explained that he lost his wedding ring on Grant St beach while playing baseball with his family in Cape May. Received a call from Steph this evening after being recommended to her on a local FB group. Steph explained that her friend, Amber, lost her engagement ring while brushing sand off of her hands at Sunset Beach. She and her friends had been sifting thru the sand on their hands and knees for over an hour with no success. Took the ten minute ride over to Sunset Beach from home and met up with Amber, Steph, & the rest of their party. There was a palpable nervous tension but I tried to reassure the group that I would get the ring back. Started a tight grid pattern and recovered Ambers ring on the second pass in about 5 minutes. Tears of joy flowed! Another happy client! For more stories like this please be sure to like and follow my page!

Two weeks ago I received a call from Rich around 8pm while he was on his way home from Cape May. Rich explained that he was out enjoying a day on the bay when a squall came in that afternoon causing him to abruptly pack up and head for his car. In the process he dropped his gold chain and medallion which were given to him by his late parents. Rich expressed his concern and urgency to attempt to recover this item. When Rich called, I was out to dinner with family, but after gathering some location details I decided that I would try for his chain that same evening once we returned back home. One of the more difficult aspects of this recovery was the location. Rich had parked at the end of New England Road and walked about 1 & 1/2 miles along the bay to where he set up. Luckily he snapped a photo and I was able to find the area he was sitting based upon the drift wood in the photo Rich sent. After arriving to the area around 11pm that evening, the chain and medallion was recovered shortly there after. I kept Rich’s chain in safe keeping until he was able to come back down to pick up his chain. Rich asked for his photo to be excluded from the post, but see his review below. Another happy customer!
” I can’t thank Jeff enough for his diligence in going out the beach at 11pm on a stormy night to find my chain and medallion for me, forever grateful! “
