The Ring of Love/Lost in Port Moody/Found

Everyone I’ve met and who knows that I treasure hunt always ask what my best find would be… I’ve traveled around the world and found many treasure’s over the years.

The picture of this young lady holding her late fiancées ring that I found for her would be my best find and will always be my best find, for the story that was attached to that ring and how I felt when I found it and returned it to her, will always live with me.

Like I say every persons ring has a story, this story was about a young couple who were looking at some property to buy and while holding hands the young lady slipped and pulled her fiancées iron engineers ring off his finger and into the over growth below.

They searched for his ring but gave up, he went back to his school were he graduated engineering and had another ring made. Everyone who graduates Iron engineering was presented with a ring that was made from the iron of the bridge that collapsed in memory of those who died and to pursue perfection in their craft.

Sadly the young man past away and the parents wanted to keep his ring to remember him by as did the young lady. She remembered that years before he had lost his original ring while they were looking at property.

As fait would have it a story was done on my service ”Finders” and she called me to search for the ring. I remember her telling me the story of the ring and how important it was to find it as both her and his family would have something to remember him by.

I found that ring and writing this story years later still brings tears to my eyes as I know what it meant to her to have it found and the goose bumps I got when I picked it up from the ground and gave it to her.

Chilliwack Gold on the side of the road! Lost ring… Found!

Here’s a story about a very large gold dinner ring with 17 diamonds that was lost near the side of the road by a golf course in Chilliwack.

I get a call from a lady who was very upset that her husband lost her beautiful diamond dinner ring some where at a golf course in Chilliwack.

She tells me that her and her husband parked by the side of the road and jumped over the fence to play a round of golf. She gave him the ring for safe keeping.

When they got back to their car the ring that she gave her husband was missing from his jean pocket. Panic set in and the next day they rented a metal detector and searched the area that they were parked at for close to 7 hours.

Someone had seen them and asked what they were doing, they replied looking for a diamond ring. The people said if you don’t find it there’s a person that was in the paper who is a professional at finding lost jewellery for people and gave them the number.

They called me and I was excited to search for the ring but because I was working in the film industry I couldn’t get out there till after 12 am as it was a hour and a half drive to Chilliwack.

I could tell she was put off by this so I explained my situation and told her that I could find her ring in the dark so she agreed to meet me.

I arrived after midnight and her and her husband greeted me and we discussed the search area. She said that I didn’t have to search the area where they had parked as they had spent close to 7 hours searching that area with a rented metal detector.

They said that it must have been lost on the golf course, I thought for a second and told them that I wanted to search the area where they had parked as that made the most sense as he would have reached into his pocket to get the keys.

Within 4 minutes I was holding a beautiful big diamond rind…17 diamonds! Before I know it I was being hugged by both husband & wife. They told me that the insurance company had written a check for $6000. but she wanted the ring back! I’m sure the insurance company was happy that ring was found! They refunded her back the reward money that she paid me.

Video/Lost my Diamond Rings in the Snow…Help!!!

Well Vancouver sure got lots of snow this winter and it stuck around for a while. Its March and we are still getting that white stuff, cold winter for us!

That being said I was able to help find a few rings that were lost in the snow this year and this video is about a lady that lost both diamond rings while she was shoveling her mothers driveway.

When she realized that she had lost her rings panic set in… After hours of searching and no luck she had to break the news to her husband.

Diamond in the Snow/New Westminster/Video

This video is about a ring that was lost in New Westminster, It took me four visits out to the area to find it. I had to wait for the snow to melt to get close enough to receive a signal with my metal detector.

I think after the third time out and not finding the ring she gave up on the idea of ever getting it back, but that didn’t stop me from going back to search for the ring.

My fourth time out I got the signal and found her diamond ring… I went to her work to drop it off and she didn’t know I had found it.

Video…Roadside gold wedding band found…South Surrey

Here is video about a ring I recently found on the side of the road in South Surrey for a man who threw an apple cord out of his truck while driving home in the early morning.You can see the blog about this ring here on my blog site.
I met up with him and I had a ring with string tied to it, I had him drive towards the area as he knew where it was lost because he found the apple core the next day in the ditch. I told him to throw the ring out of the truck like he did on that night.

The second test throw the ring landed very close to where I found his ring… A little re-enact sometimes helps! The string tied to the ring is so I can see where the ring lands… This man spent over 5 hours searching for his ring, I found it in a 1/2 hour.

Reporters ring found after 12 years/North Vancouver/Deep Cove

Here’s a story about a story… The Province Newspaper here in Vancouver was doing a story on my service ”Finders” and the reporter who was doing the story told me about the time he’d lost his gold wedding band in his backyard.

He goes on to tell me that he lost it 12 years ago, he search the area at the time that he lost the ring but couldn’t find it.

I said to him… We’ll start the story by finding your ring! He smiled and said no chance, he told me that he had landscaped the backyard a few times over the years and more then likely it was hauled out with the leaves and dirt.

But that didn’t stop me as I enjoy a challenge, I started late that day in his back yard and he was taking some pictures while I was searching. It was getting dark and I’d spent a couple of hours but didn’t find the ring, he thanked me for trying and I told him I’d be back in the morning.

I picked up where I left off and as I was getting close to completing my grid search of the back yard I received a faint signal that was close to a small tree in his garden.

I started to dig down in the soft dirt and about 8 inches down I could see the color of gold in the hole, I pulled out his lost gold ring and I have to say I had a big smile on my face! The total hours spent on this search was 3 1/2.

I called over to his work place and left a message with the receptionist that I was coming down to give him the ring that I found for him. She was excited as she heard about the search and I think no one believed I’d find it after so many years.

We met up and I took his picture for my ”Book of Smiles” and needless to say the whole story he did on ”Finders” was about me finding his ring!

Diamond & Ruby Ring lost at Bowen Island

This lady in this picture lost her beautiful ruby & diamond ring in the mud and water while walking on a wooden dock along side a lake at Bowen Island. I took the ferry and met her on the Island the next day and she showed me the area the ring fell off into the mud.

This was a tough search as it was deep and thick mud, my only hope was that the ring didn’t make its way down to the bottom. I started my search by lying on the dock at the edge and slowly moving the loop of my metal detector left and right and sliding down the dock inches at a time.

I was hoping to get a signal but it wasn’t looking good as the area I was searching was not the area she thought she lost it at as I worked my way down the dock on my mud grid search.

I had to push hard to get my loop further down then reach my arm down to my loop to make it flat then search, then after 30 minutes I heard the sound I was hoping to hear… I put my scoop down into the mud and after the thirdattempt I was looking at her very muddy ruby ring!

After washing it and giving it back to her, well the smile tells the story!

Tiffany White Gold Wedding Band Lost! Kits Beach Vancouver

This story is about a man who lost his white gold wedding band at Kits Beach in Vancouver on a sunny summers day.

He was in the water cooling off when he realized that his ring was gone, he wasn’t sure of the exact location but he did give me an area that was workable, but it would take some time to find.

I talked to young man over the phone and he gave me the area that he believed the ring was in and because I’ve hunted that area so many times in the past it wasn’t important that he be there.

I showed up at low tide the next morning around 5 am and started my search of the area, I didn’t receive many signals which makes the search easier and it took me only 30 minutes to find his ring.

I was excited to call and tell him the good news, he was on his way to the beach the second I called him to pick up his ring.

When he arrive I gave him his ring and for some reason he didn’t think it was his, he look at it for a while then put it on and it fit him, but he remembered that there was an inscription inside and this one didn’t have one…?

I said cool two white gold rings in the same area, I’ll find yours next and I started to search. Within 30 minutes I found his 18k white gold Tiffany wedding band.

He was very pleased and gave me a nice reward and I left the beach with a 14k white gold ring that needed to find its owner and it did only weeks later…

One of a kind silver ring lost at Spanish Banks Beach Vancouver…Found

A few summers back I received a call from a young lady who lost a silver ring. I don’t get many calls to find silver rings but the lady told me that it was a one of a kind ring that she bought at a studio in Los Angeles.

It meant the world to her! I was on my way to Spanish Banks Beach in Vancouver to do a ring search at 10:15 pm.

When I showed up at the beach I was greeted by two young ladies and they took me to the spot they believed the ring was lost.

I started my grid search and it was stop and go as I received lots of signals on my metal detector in the area of the beach the ring was believed to be lost.

It took 15 minutes until I got the silver signal I was waiting for and out of the sand and into my scoop came the silver ring the lady had lost.

She like most was very excited and happy that I found the ring, it helps when people are sure of the area it was lost in as I will continue to search until I find it.
