Lost Gold & Diamonds Wedding Ring at Lanikai Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when Nikki from Aiea, Hawaii reached out to me on the Metal Detecting Oahu Facebook page.  I posted my number and she called immediately.  While at Lanikai Beach with her children she had taken off her Engagement and Wedding rings and put them in a puka of her beach chair.  After returning home she realized she had left the rings in the chair and when she went out to retrieve them the Wedding Ring was gone.  She looked everywhere she could think of with no luck.  Her only conclusion is it must have fallen out at the beach when she folded the chair.  We decided to meet at the beach to ensure I hunted the exact spot in the dry sand.  We had a little difficulty parking but finally were able to start the hunt.  I started an East-West grid search and after covering the area thoroughly I only found a piece of aluminum.  Nikki was sure we were in the correct spot so on a whim I adjusted to a North-South grid search.  Boom!  A sudden 9/10 on the Nox and after four scoops Nikki’s beautiful Gold & Diamonds ring was in the scoop.  I walked over and pointed in the scoop.  She shouted with joy and it was all she could do to hold back the tears.  We hugged and I noticed her Pittsburgh Steelers keychain.  Turns out although she is from Michigan she is a staunch Steelers fan.  Soo happy we had a successful hunt.  Remember boys & girls the 90 degree adjustment in the grid search made for a successful recovery.  This has happened a few times especially in Waikiki sand.  Aloha to Nikki!

Keys Lost On The Beach Recovered At Pine Knoll Shores, NC

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Rusty’s wife sent me a message asking if I had time to look for keys lost at a Pine Knoll Shores beach access.  Rusty realized that morning he was missing a few keys and they believed they were lost the day before.  After explained the area he was that day, I began the searching.  As I was running out spots to search, I received a strong signal.  I checked the area and spotted the key ring barely protruding from the sand.  I sent the picture to Rusty’s wife and he met me as I was leaving the beach with keys in hand.

Hide-and-Seek….

…..was the last outside game being played into the night of July 4th, and as Jackie, her son along with other family members were finally found, upon entering the house, her husband noticed his wedding ring missing. Frantically searching the yard to no avail left them wondering where it went. With her husband having to be away from home the next day Jackie and I agreed to meet and search for the ring. Quickly grid searching the areas with my MXT metal detector I got a few junk signals. As I started to close in on a certain section, I got a good signal below a clump of grass. Pinpointing the signal, I reached down and moved the clump of grass out of the way and yelled out hide-seek-found! Jackie and her son came running over to the spot and couldn’t believe the ring was where it was! Putting the headphones on her son and letting him sweep over the ring with the metal detector left a thrilled expression on his face as he verified that it was his dad’s ring! Hopefully this left a great impression on him to someday take an interest in seeking out hidden treasure!

Lost Wedding Ring in the grass, Toms River NJ, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

Anita called and asked if I would be able to locate her sons wedding ring that was lost in her yard, while they were watching the fireworks last week. She explained that the yard was pretty big, and that they had already rented a metal detector, and had no luck finding the ring. I asked if she was positive the ring was lost in the yard, and she said yes, he  was swatting a bug with his left hand and felt it fly off. I told her I was confident I would find it, and ill head right over if she wanted.  When I got there she showed me where he was sitting, and how he swatted at the bug. I started looking in the direction he had swung, working my way down the slope, toward the water. After about 20′ or so I started getting discouraged, but continued about 15′ more. There were numerous signals in the area, but only a few that even remotely sounded like a large platinum ring. I walked back up to talk to Anita, and confirm what she had said prior.  This time she mentioned the chair was facing the river, which was 90* from the way it was facing, and that meant the ring was to the left!! I told her that makes a huge difference, and we  were not searching the right spot. About 8′ on the first pass and BOOM, there was the loud tone of a big ring.  Sure enough, that was the ring.

Family Heirloom, lost ring Navarre – FOUND!!!

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

This weekend was the Blue Angels show so I assumed that Sunday morning I would have a lost ring call from Pensacola Beach.  In reality, the call came from Stefanie, just down the road in Navarre.  When I spoke to Stefanie, I immediately knew that I had to go look for this ring and when I hung up I looked over at my wife Jeannie and she said “I want to go with you”.  It’s always a good sign when my lucky charm wants to go so I started getting excited as I packed up my gear.  When we got to Navarre, we quickly parked and headed to the beach.  As we walked along on the sand, I saw a woman waving at me about 100yds away.  When we got to her she explained that her name was Nicole and she was the actual owner of the ring.  She had Stefanie call because she was too upset to talk when she lost it.  As we walked over to the rest of her family she explained that her mother received this ring 65 years ago and had left it to Nicole when she passed away 14 years earlier.  Nicole was actually raised by her Grandparents and refers to them as her mother and father. It made it even more important because her Father, who was a Police Officer passed away in the line of duty seven years ago.  This ring was a symbol of the two of them and Nicole had every intention to pass it down to her oldest daughter, Josie who was also looking on expectantly as I prepared to hit the water.  Nicole had been knocked down by a wave a few hours before and when she came up from all fours in the shallow water, her precious family heirloom was no longer on her hand.  She had a good general idea where she was but with the tide coming in quickly and the waves getting bigger every minute, she was rightly concerned.  I told her that I would grid out the entire area and that if it was there, I would find it.  It only took about fifteen minutes before I heard a very deep signal up on the shelf before the sand drops down.  I happened to be right in front of Jeannie and she quickly started videoing for prosperity.  I made one deep scoop and looked down to see the beautiful diamond ring with so much history at the bottom of the scoop.  Nicole was a short way down the beach but I motioned to her that I had it.  She came over and in disbelief pulled out the ring and gave me a huge hug.  As Josie and Stefanie came over, I got to see the smiles and happy tears and once again be reminded why I do this.  Congratulations to you all, I am glad I got to be a part of the story for such an important part of your family’s history. God Bless!

Chaniyah contacted me about a lost ring at the beach. She had lost it while playing volleyball, and the sand swallowed it up. We agreed to meet as soon as we could get to the area to do the search.

I got to the beach a little ahead of Chaniyah, and saw that there were some people on the court in question. When she got there we went out to the court, and I asked if the players would be bothered if I looked around the outside of the court while they were playing, and they said it would be fine. What was real nice was that as I searched they decided to move to next court over which allowed me access to the whole area. It was a good thing because after about 10 minutes of searching inside the lines I found her ring. Chaniyah told me that her mother had given her that ring with special Biblical scripture engraved inside, so it meant a lot to have it back. Great smile!

Lost Tungsten Wedding Band at Nai’a Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began on Thursday when I got a call from Elijah who is a United States Marine stationed on Okinawa and was on vacation in Hawaii to attend his brother’s wedding.  While playing volleyball with his Father in the dry sand of Nai’a Lagoon, Elijah’s Tungsten Wedding Band flew off and disappeared into the sand.  I was able to do a search on Friday but the Wedding Band didn’t show itself.  On Saturday morning I expanded the grid in every direction and finally found the band two grid lines further to the North.  I called Elijah with the great news and we met this AM at Ko Olina for the return.  Vacation is saved!  Aloha to Elijah!

Juliet called me and said she lost her wedding ring 3 days earlier. She sent me a dropped pin on google maps where she lost the ring.
Amazingly she was pretty accurate with the coordinates, I found her ring about twenty feet from the pin drop.

We arranged for her to pick up the ring at my place as she didn’t feel comfortable sending it in the mail.

Gifted Silver Ring From Grandmother Lost and Found By A Metal Detector on Pine Point Beach,Maine

  • from Old Orchard Beach (Maine, United States)

On Friday Night, July 7th, I received a text from Domenic. In the text, Domenic stated that a ring, gifted to him by his now deceased Grandmother, had slipped off his finger, while “diving into a wave, approximately 75-100 feet from the high tide line”. Domenic went on to describe the ring as a “simple metal band with LOVE inscribed in a groovy-funky 1970’s – esque writing with a spot below the O, for a gem”. In Domenic’s own words, “I haven’t taken that ring off since she gave it to me 2016, and I’m heartbroken that I lost it”. Domenic also told me he found me through an internet search and that he was back in Boston as he had to work the next day.
I immediately called Domenic back and he described the area where he lost it, while swimming the day before. Since he was swimming at high tide, I told him I would go down 1st thing in the morning and follow the tide out with my metal detector. I arrived at Pine Point, Maine, an area within Scarborough, Maine and about 20 minutes south of Portland, Maine. I fired up the Minelab CTX-3030 at 5:20am and started a grid search, parallel to the beach and just followed the tide out. After 1:44 minutes, I received a strong loud signal, reading 12-46 on the VDI Screen. I scooped out one scoop full of sand and I saw just a sliver of something silver in color, laying on the beach. I picked it up and it was a ring with a funky “LOVE” written across the front. After 2 days of being in the ocean, I had found Domenic’s gifted ring.
Domenic had already gone home to the Boston area, so I sent him a text telling him I had recovered his ring. Domenic sent back a text saying “Oh wow, what a great message to wake up to! You are amazing”. We then made plans to meet up the following day to return his ring. Domenic made the approximately 2 hour drive from his home in the Boston area to Pine Point. We met in Old Orchard Beach and a very happy Domenic received his VERY SENTIMENTAL ring back. Who doesn’t just love a good ending? I am proud to be able to help people like Domenic and return something they thought would be lost forever.

Andrew lost his ring on the beach by putting his ring in the chair cup holder for safe keeping! Unfortunately while having so much fun on the beach he forgot about the ring and lost it. He provided me with a picture he took on the beach and I was able to use it to guide me in the general area and after about 15 minutes … BAM!!
