I received a call from Mitali this Morning asking if I would be able to help her locate the engagement ring that flew off her hand  in Bushel Park while she was brushing snow from her hands, the ring flew from her left hand after taking the trash to to the can

There was an area that she was sifted through, she searched the area but could not find the ring.  I found the ring inches away from where Mitali had put hot water on the snow to melt the snow, we had just had 7 inches of fresh snow. She was very excited that I found the engagement ring.

Lost White Gold & Diamonds Wedding Band at Kaimana Beach…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call from Dean who was on vacation from Newport Beach, California and enjoying his vacation on Kaimana Beach in Waikiki.  The day before he had placed his ring in his towel and when he picked it up the ring flew out and disappeared into the fine sand of Kaimana Beach.  Knowing Kaimana Beach is heavily detected and it was lost the day before I asked Dean to go to the beach and guard the lost area until I could get there.  It was my lunch break so I knew I could get there in a few minutes and hopefully the ring hadn’t been found.  When I arrived at the beach Dean & Rick were waiting.  They showed me the area and I fired up the “BEAST”.  First target #30 on the VDI.  Boom!  Dean’s awesome white gold & diamond ring was in the scoop.  I was amazed how quickly it was found as the area was a few parking stalls in size.  Back to work in record time and Dean’s family was so appreciative of the recovery.  Aloha to Dean & Rick

Lost wedding ring found in Murfreesboro, TN

Kari’s husband lost his titanium wedding band in the back yard of their beautiful Murfreesboro, TN home about a month ago when he was doing some yard work. They had spent countless hours searching for the ring, and even bought an inexpensive metal detector to use themselves. Kari was able to laugh when she said it was a much better noisemaker than a metal detector. Kari and her husband were somewhat certain the ring was somewhere in their backyard, but no idea where in the pretty expansive yard. I began a grid search and located the ring in just under 22 minutes. I offered to show Kari how to use the metal detector they bought in the event they needed to find another ring. She was quick to respond that she would much rather just call me for any future metal detecting needs. It is often that word-of-mouth recommendations are the best advertising there is.

Wedding Ring Found! A Cornfield Search – West Bend, WI.

November 12 marked a day of profound sadness for West Bend resident, Michael Schultz. His loose-fitting wedding ring came up missing after a day’s activities. He had done chores on their country horse farm, spent time sighting in hunting rifles in anticipation of the upcoming deer season and then made a trip to town. A recently harvested cornfield served as a 100-yard shooting range. Later, as he stood in line at a grocery store, Michael noticed, to his horror, his wedding ring was missing from his hand!

Michael had recently lost weight which resulted in his ring fitting loosely. He remembered thinking that very morning how it might be best to store the ring away until it could be resized. Now, he regretted not heeding the thought. He was truly grieving his loss and all the precious memories the ring held.

Michael’s wife, Nikki, reached out to me several days later. After speaking with her on the phone, I concluded the ring could be anywhere. The most likely place to search seemed to be the cornfield where Michael had taken his gloves off and on as he sighted in his rifles. But the area was similar in size to a football field. No matter, it would be a process of elimination.

I arrived early afternoon on November 22, 10 days after the ring went missing. The remains of corn stalks made the search challenging, hampering the swinging of my search coil. After 3-hours of searching, it was pitch black. I still had about another hour of searching left when a signal caught my attention. Beneath a muddy corn leaf, Michael’s gold and diamond ring appeared with the help of a flashlight!

Michael and his family were overwhelmed at the sight of the ring! Hugs and tears of joy ensued.

This was yet another amazing find in what was, by all accounts, a long-shot search. However, the ring’s hiding place was no match for modern technology and perseverance even in a vast cornfield in the black of night.

Lost ring found in Brentwood, TN

Gary called me on 11-22-2024 and let me know that he lost his platinum wedding band a week ago in his back yard. He was pretty confident that it was in about a 20’ by 20’ grassy area. He had searched the area for a week, even using what he called a “kid’s” metal detector, and had no luck finding the very sentimental wedding band. We agreed that I would search his yard on 11-23-2024. After he showed me the area where he believed the ring slipped off his finger while he was playing catch with his son, I turned on my detector and got to work. I had another day where luck played a huge part, not so much in finding the ring, but in the time it took to find it. In a new personal record of 38 SECONDS I found Gary’s ring. He could not believe it was found so quickly. It was the first signal with my detector and I hadn’t even moved my feet. Today was another great day helping reunite someone with their beloved treasure.

Got a call from Declan about 7:00 PM about a key fob he had lost earlier in the day in the sand at the beach. After a few questions he let me know that he had buried his key marked by his flip flops so he could go surfing, but while he was out the county beach cleaners came through, and his flip flops were gone. He suspected the key went with it, which sounded like the most reasonable outcome, but he asked if I could come to do a search anyway. I said I would leave immediately, and met him on the beach about an hour later.

Declan had found his flip flops down the beach a ways, so he took me out to that spot to begin my search. He said he had buried his keys at the top of the slope down to the water, and I could tell that the machine had cleaned right up to the edge of that slope. He had a spare key exactly like the one that was lost, so I asked him to lay it down so I could get a reading from it in order to not have to dig signals that were not even close. I then began my search not worrying about signals that were not close. Then about 100 feet from where we started I received a close signal, dug, and dumped the sand. I put my coil over the hole again, not there. I put the coil over the dumped sand, not there. As I was checking the pile Declan walked up with his light and reached right behind me, and lifted up the plastic bag with his key. It must have hooked my scoop, and flipped behind me when I dumped the sand. Needless to say he was happy, and I was excited because you could see that the machine had gone over the spot but missed his key. Great night!

Ring found at church

I found this gentleman’s wedding ring at his church. He told me that he lost it five years ago when he took the ring off to put lotion on his hands before driving to his church. He had taken the ring of and put it in his lap. When he got out of his car the ring fell onto the ground. Found Extremely Important Keychain in the Leaves

I got a call earlier this week from a gentleman who had lost something extremely sentimental to him, and was desperately needing it to be found.

Early this year, his significant other had come down with a serious medical issue that took her life way too early. She had a real big heart for animals, and dogs….and of course, him! Her keychain had several dog charms attached to it, and he kept it with him at all times, no matter where he went. It was a part of her.

One day he had been out raking and had also ridden his bike down a leafy hill where he lost control and fell. Later, he discovered his pocket was empty and his heart sank. He searched through the rakings and where he had fallen, with no success. After some web searching, he found my listing and gave me a call. His voice shook with emotion and I instantly knew how important this search was. We made arrangements to meet when I didn’t have work.

Today, I met him at the house and he showed me the search areas. Luckily, in under 5 minutes, I got a signal, looked down and saw a Toyota symbol peeking out from under a leaf. It was her keychain with all charms intact! He gave me a huge hug! He said it was about the best thing that could happen to him.

I am so fortunate to be able to help in situations like this. I’m very glad it was a success!

Wedding Ring Recovered – Clayton!

I got a text from a woman whose husband had lost his wedding ring while doing yard work. Not an unusual story – it’s actually fairly common. He had lost it several weeks earlier and although they had searched (including a neighbor with a metal detector), they had not been able to locate the ring. His birthday was coming up in a few days and she wanted to surprise him with the ring that he now believed was gone. We made arrangements to meet at the house so she could show me where he thought he had lost it. The property was fairly large and she said that he had covered probably 2/3 of the property with his yard work, so I was anticipating a lengthy search. The husband thought it was in “the burn pile”, an area where they burned branches, sticks, and other yard waste. She thought it was in the pile of sticks yet to be burned (and I was dreading having to move all of the sticks to get down to the ground!). I figured I’d start my search in those two places and work outward. Starting with the burn pile, I first pulled up a burnt aluminum can, but my second target was the ring! Fortunately they had not done any burning since the ring was lost, so while it was sitting in burnt soil, the ring itself was just fine. She’s planning to surprise him with the ring at his upcoming birthday dinner.

Mom’s Wedding Ring Recovered – Greensboro!

I was contacted by a woman who had initially lost two rings, but had found one before calling me. While we were speaking about the when and where, she told me the backstory. Both her parents had passed and she had a ring from each. She decided to wear the two rings around her neck, but had the rings together on a hoop earring, which was in turn, looped onto a gold chain. She was spreading straw onto newly seeded grass in her back yard, and in rearranging the straw with a rake, she saw her father’s ring on the ground, which is when she realized that the hoop earring had opened and dropped the rings. As you might imagine, the hoop wasn’t strong enough to hold the rings securely and it had opened up. Finding the first ring was a good indicator about the location of the second, but she had searched extensively and hadn’t been able to locate it. After having her show me the areas where she’d been working, I started the search. After finding the usual yard trash (small pieces of aluminum, iron nails, screws, and a few pennies), I was able to locate her ring. In her own search, she had unknowingly stepped on it and pushed it down into the mud. Although it wasn’t visible, my detector wasn’t bothered by the mud and I was able to recover the ring. Given how important the rings were to her, it was great to see the joy in her eyes when the missing ring was recovered and returned!
