Lost Gold Wedding Band at Waikiki Beach…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I received a call from Greg who was on his Honeymoon in Waikiki and had just gotten married the day before in his hometown in Indiana. While swimming in the cool waters of Waikiki his wedding band slide off in waist deep water and disappeared. Greg & his lovely bride Mackenzie spent the next hour trying to locate the gold wedding band in the soft sand. It was too well hidden and that’s when he googled, “Lost ring Hawaii” and found the ringfinders. I told Greg I’d meet him as soon as I could get my gear together after my quick stop at the pharmacy. When I arrived Greg & Mackenzie were waiting near the beach entrance and walked me down to the area the ring was lost. Greg lined up the markers he had and was standing in about waist deep water. I started the grid search on the deep side and worked toward shore. The sand was sterile and I new his ring would scream as soon as the Excal got near it. Sure enough on about the 8th pass I got a great tone and one scoop down there was Greg’s shiny gold wedding band in the scoop. I could see a smile on Mackenzie’s face as I handed Greg his ring. Honeymoon saved! Aloha to Greg & Mackenzie!

Lost Ring Portofino Pensacola Beach – FOUND!

Well believe it or not I found my third Texas A&M class ring of the year!  I think that if I find a fourth, I should get an honorary Aggie t-shirt. 😃  I had the pleasure of meeting Evan and his girlfriend Dallas who were in town with family out at Portofino over the weekend. Evan found me on Ringfinders and reached out and let me know that he had a big problem.  He was playing paddleball out in the water with Dallas when his brand new solid gold class ring went flying off his hand.  They all tried looking for it but weren’t able to find it.  I let him know that I would be glad to come find it for him.  As is often the case, it wasn’t where it was supposed to be.  Luckily, this wasn’t my first time and after some thorough questioning, re-enactments and a check of the historic tide charts, I was able to give a very happy Evan back his ring.  What I thought was so neat is that Evan and Dallas told me they had seen the post from a few weeks ago where I found a man named Josh’s Texas A&M ring.  Throughout the search Josh told me that he had not removed that ring in 22 years.  Well you can see from the pictures that Josh was class of 97 and Evan is class of 19, exactly 22 years apart.  Isn’t it neat how fate works out sometimes.  😃  Congratulations Evan!

Heirloom Ring Found! Oak Creek, WI

On Sunday afternoon, Cedarburg, Wisconsin resident Jessica Rauh was visiting friends in Oak Creek. A benign game of volleyball turned into an all-out search-and-rescue operation when Jessica’s gold heirloom ring slipped off her finger, vanishing in the grass. Despite the best search efforts, the ring eluded recovery. That’s when Jessica found me on The Ring Finders Directory and telephoned. Would I help?

Within minutes I was on the way. Upon arrival, Jessica led me to an area under the volleyball net—marked off by sandbags. It didn’t take very long to pick up the telltale signal of gold and I plucked the ring up from its hiding place.

Jessica, I’m so glad you have your precious ring back on your hand! May its story continue for many years to come.

Necklace lost at North Island Breakers beach Found!

Vanessa and her two children were spending the day at the beach on NAS North Island Breaker’s Beach. She had with her a necklace that was a recent gift. It was in a pouch, inside a box, then inside her bag. Should be safe there huh? Not with an active 1 1/2 year old toddler it isn’t! Apparently the child had gotten into the bag, box and pouch, finding the necklace and deciding to play with it in the dry sand. Once it was realized what happened, too late, the necklace was nowhere to be seen. I met Vanessa outside the gate so she could get me on the Navy base. We proceeded to the beach where the search area was defined. Lots of dry sand to sift and lots of junk targets to raise and dash our hopes. As you can see, after expanding out from ground zero, it was eventually found and a relieved Vanessa could head home happy. A pleasure to meet you and thank you for the reward.

Emerald Isle Ring Lost In Ocean Found Hours Later

Harrison and Diana were visiting family on Emerald isle when they decided to take their puppies to the beach.
Harrison’s story:
“We had just gotten to the beach, and put sunscreen on. Then, it was down to the water to take the pups in for a swim and to cool down. About 10 minutes later, I realized that my ring was missing. We searched the area where we were sitting, but figured that it was lost in the water. We called Steve, who agreed to meet us later that evening since the tide was coming in. We are so happy with his work in finding the ring, his professionalism, and his willingness to keep searching. Thank you!”

After a 2 hour search, the ring was located and returned with a very happy wife nearby!

July 5th I received a text from Dale who was at Carlsbad beach TWR 36 on the 4th of July when he noticed his ring had fallen out of a pocket into the sand.The group of six tried sifting through the sand but with no luck.He was already back in L.A but asked if I could help find it for him.Fortunately it was only 7 minutes away so I headed down immediately.

As I walked around I noticed tight Grid lines in the sand EVERY where! Bad news, This means a metal detector Guy was here earlier and the ring is most likely gone!! I text Dale to confirm this was the location hoping I’m at the wrong TWR,He text me back and said yes that’s where I was just south of the tower on the slight slope. 😱 I had to at least scan over the guys grid mark patterns on the slope with hopes he missed it…On my 2nd pass back I get a signal 4-5” down then out popped a white Gold Ring..right in the Detectorist’s tracks!

I text Dale that I have found a ring then sent him the photo. He was at work when he got the pic and jumped out of his seat in excitement & shock.He text me he actually had to explain to his co-workers what happened and they were all amazed!

A few days later I met Dale and Brenda at Tamarack beach.The smiles lit up and they were very grateful to have this precious wedding back at last.

Mission Beach Metal Detector found lost ring

Saturday July 7th I received a call from John Hughes a fellow member of Theringfinders asking if I could take a call to Mission beach and help a guy find his lost ring,Again! John already had found and returned David’s ring a year prior at another beach but wasn’t able to go due to a painful back operation.

I called David and after a few questions of how it was lost I was on my way to help.
I showed up just before the sunset & met David who had placed his Gold ring in a bag for safekeeping while he went into the ocean for a swim.He showed me a 200’ area in the dry sand of where it may of dropped into. I proceeded with a grid search pattern for about 10 min and after digging just a couple penny’s I was able to recover this precious ring!
it was back on David’s hand,hopefully for the final time! Thank you for the generous reward.

Lost wedding band at the beach found by Dennis Burlingame

Got a call from Pat and his wife that his wife lost her wedding band on a local beach after taking it off to put lotion on, placing it down and getting side tracked forgetting it was on the blanket. Just after leaving the beach she remembered the ring and it was already lost in the sand. This was the day before they called. I drove down to meet him and luck ally he was taking pictures that day and they gave me a better idea where to look. There were people on the beach so I had to walk through them hoping no one was sitting on it. After about 15 minutes there was one spot opened about 15 feet from where I was checking that was opened and sure enough there pops out the ring. A bunch of thumbs up from the people around and a big smile and a hand shake we were on our way.

Carlsbad Metal Detector Guy finds lost ring

July 7th was a sweltering hot summer day in San Diego when I received a call from Gail about her husbands Lost wedding band which was dropped waist deep in Carlsbad just 30 min before. So I checked the tide books and it was not a good scenario because the tide was coming up fast forecloseing this search until low tide at midnight. I told Gail I was willing to give it a try knowing that it might be found “Now or Never” so I was on my way while she text me their GPS coordinates from google maps. I figured by the time I got there it would be chest to shoulder deep at this point but it was 95* outside and I was in the mood for a wet water search.

As I arrived to the scene of the lost ring the scenario looked even tougher than expected. The surf was pumping with lapping shore break at 2-3 second intervals.
I soon then met the nice couple from Arizona,Gail & J.C. After a few questions and concerns we both had,they pointed in the ocean where he felt the ring slip off waist deep into the breakers.Though It was hot plus worth the shot so I geared up and walked out nearly shoulder deep immediately getting tumbled for about a couple minutes.Suddenly I got a special signal on my Metal Detector and tried to dig it up before the next wave bashed into me,Over and over for what felt like 5 minutes I kept scooping at it getting pushed away from this target multiple times with white wash nearly over head high.I then took one last scoop blindly at this signal again,Swung my Metal Detector around the area and didn’t hear it anymore…OH NO!  Looking into my sand scoop I see a bunch of Cobble rocks but no ring? Then I shook the rocks around when what appeared was the  edge of a metallic circle?

I safely walked back out of the water to the couple,Friends,Family and beach goers who were watching,,while I was trying to look discouraged or maybe giving up the search? I showed them the sand scoop with beach rocks in it,I could only hold the bummed look for a couple seconds,so I pulled out J.C’s Wedding Ring out under the rocks like a magic trick!

Instantly the Hugs and cheering came pouring in from all over with pulsating energy electrifying the beach.The excitement from these calls are most rewarding and never get old.

Lost Gold & Diamonds Christmas Gift ring at Aulani Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

This ring find began on June 28th when I got a text from Leilani who lives in San Francisco California. In her text she was told by the Aulani concierge to pass her ring info to me. In the text Leilani said while on vacation in February as she was rescuing her drowning son from the lagoon her Gold & Diamonds Christmas gift ring fell off into the shore break water and disappeared. She had left a lost and found report and would check back every now and then to see if the ring was found. My Excalibur must have went over the ring at least 4 or 5 times over the last few months without hitting the target. I’ve started using the Equinox 800 and I can’t say enough about this stellar detector. From where Leilani lost the ring (see pic) it migrated 10 yards down the beach and was at least a foot deep into the sand. Equinox had a strong signal and I’m positive it was just out of reach of my Excalibur. Leilani is shy so she sent me a nice Thank You note pic with the ring when it arrived back in San Francisco.
