Lost Platinum & Diamonds Wedding Rings at Kalama Beach Kailua…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

AITD KHON

This ring find began when I got a call from Detlev who lives in Kailua. While his wife Dayna was enjoying some time at the beach earlier that day with some school children she took off her wedding rings and placed them in her towel. A short time later she grabbed her towel and in that moment the rings got flung into the powdery beach sand and disappeared. They searched frantically for several minutes but neither ring was found. A Google search found “The ring finders” and that’s when I received the call. Detlev said he could meet me at the beach park around 3:15PM and we could go down to he beach from there. A rain storm blew through the area so hopefully that kept the typical sand detectorists home for the day. As we arrived in the area the rings were lost you could see numerous hand raking marks in the sand. Only if it was that easy. Detlev pull out the diagram he and Dayna drew to show me where the rings were lost. I started a grid search while Detlev sat on a bench nearby. On my return leg I got a nice platinum tone and two scoops down was Dayna’s ring with the solitaire diamond. Now to find the Wedding band. I continued on but only found 3 cents. I asked Detlev if the other ring was supposed to be near where we found the other ring and he said, “No the diagram has it out front of this bench a ways.” As I continued on the grid search Detlev yelled out, “Joe the ring is right here” Detlev happened to glance down and it was exposed in the sand. We must have done that when we walked over to the bench. In any case both rings are now back on Dayna’s finger. Aloha to Detlev & Dayna!

Lost Wedding Ring Found – Whistling Straits Golf Course – Sheboygan, WI

  • from Menomonee Falls (Wisconsin, United States)

Wisconsin’s, Whistling Straits Golf Course on the picturesque shores of Lake Michigan, was host to the 2015 PGA Championship. But it became the unintended host to Joey Piatek’s wedding ring on April 29, 2017.

As was his habit, Joey removed his ring before playing, slipping it into a zipped pocket on his golf bag for safekeeping. He realized it was missing as he was leaving the course. Where could it have gone? Joey’s heart sank when he remembered his caddie, on two occasions, turning the bag upside down to retrieve the cover for his putter after it had fallen inside. Had the ring fallen out then?

Joey immediately returned to the course from the parking lot and searched using his iPhone flashlight in the dark. To make matters worse, it began raining. His efforts were unsuccessful. He tried looking again the next morning but again, the ring seemed to have vanished.

Joey’s bride of a year and half, Michelle, was in New York attending the wedding shower of a friend when she received the news. Being a nurse anesthetist, she immediately went into problem-solving mode—perhaps Joey could rent a metal detector. A quick search on the Internet brought up The Ring Finders directory of metal detecting specialists. It peaked her interest; she never realized such a service existed. It gave a glimmer of hope! And so Michelle encouraged Joey to contact me.

I received Joey’s email and made arrangements to conduct the search the following morning. Since Joey lived in Chicago, Illinois, I had him text me a Google earth satellite map of the golf course showing pins at the two locations where the golf bag had been turned upside down. Technology is wonderful!

Unfortunately, a thorough search of the two marked areas failed to turn up the ring–perhaps someone had already found it. My 40-plus years experience however, prompted me to widen the search area. Sure enough, on the gravel pathway leading up to the 10th Hole, I heard a familiar tone in my headset. The conductivity numbers showing on my XP Deus control screen were consistent with 14 Karat gold. It was Joey’s ring!

Barely visible with the naked eye, the love token was pretty much buried. It had been stepped on or run over by a club car but was not worse for wear considering. I took a photo to show it peaking out from among the pebbles as if embarrassed by the ordeal. Can you spot it?

Joey and Michelle drove up from Chicago a week later. It was such a joy to return the ring in person and to visit with this delightful couple. It seems they have been telling all their friends and family members about their experience with The Ring Finders and with my services here in southwest Wisconsin. Thank you both for the privilege of helping to recover your ring and for your kind reward.

Joey, may your ring’s happy-ending story continue for many, many years to come!

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Kahala Hotel Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a 8PM call from David who was on his honeymoon in Hawaii with his lovely wife Lindsay and they both are from my home state of Pennsylvania. They had eloped that same day. So the ring wasn’t even on his finger 24 hours. He explained, while enjoying a day at the hotel beach David went for a swim. He barely got wet when his White Gold Wedding Band came off in chest deep water. He immediately called Lindsay who was tanning in a lounge chair to come help him find it. They got some swim goggles and tried desperately to find the ring but that wasn’t to be. I told David I wanted to take a shot tonight and that I was just on the hill above the hotel. We went down to the beach and entered the water. David took me to the spot he thought he was at and I started a grid search. Fairly sterile area with only some metal scrap pieces. There just wasn’t enough moon or ambient light to see and do a proper grid search so I asked David if we could try again the next day. They were checking out at noon so that would be a great opportunity. I met them at valet parking and we went back out to the spot. After a Florida State quarter and a dime I got a nice gold tone. The ring was thin and played with me a little bit before it would go in my scoop. But finally it emerged and I called over to David who was my grid marker…I got a ring come look and see if its yours. Sure enough perfect fit. David said Joe this is how memories are made. He’s right. Honeymoon saved and these two still have plenty of adventure time in Hawaii. Aloha to David & Lindsay.

Lost 18 K Diamond Ring found and returned in Dolton, Illinois

  • from Las Vegas (Nevada, United States)
Contact:

In Chicago I was contacted to search for a ring that was lost when she was throwing stones at amorous opossums in the back yard. It was a collapsible 18K ring with diamonds. Less than 30 minutes and I found it. I was using my XP Deus  and was surprised to see that it rang up at 78 using 18 kHz. It seems that 18K can come in very high.

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Waikiki Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I received a voicemail from Pastor Les Araki. While metal detecting on Waikiki Beach a young couple Bruno & Maria on there honeymoon from Uruguay approached him and said Bruno had just lost his ring in waist deep water. Pastor Les was pressed for time but took a quick hunt however he didn’t locate the ring. They borrowed the lifeguards cellphone and called me at home. Since I’m only 10 minutes from Waikiki I told Bruno I would load up my gear and be right down. I met Bruno & his lovely wife Maria on the beach and asked Bruno to join me in the water where he thought the ring fell off. We went about halfway into the protected area and Bruno looked ashore to see if Maria agreed to the location. She gave a nod and I turned on the Excal and started walking parallel to the beach. Five paces later and ten feet from Bruno I got a nice tone and two scoops down out came Bruno’s Gold Wedding Band. He was astonished how quick the recovery occurred. As we walked toward the shore the beach goers in the area started clapping. One gentleman said, “How did you find it so fast?” “Great equipment and a little experience by the operator,” I said. A few hugs and hand shakes and Bruno said, “Thank you for saving my honeymoon.” Aloha to Bruno & Maria.

Property Survey Marker in Hamilton NJ Found by Dave Milsted

  • from South Jersey (New Jersey, United States)
Contact:

I received an email from Mark who asked if I could help him find a missing Property Survey Marker.  It was marked a year or so ago with a little flag but has since been moved by a neighbor.

We set up a time for the upcoming Saturday. The weather was perfect for a hunt. I met Mark and he showed me the area that he was searching in. The grass has been matted down pretty good from all of the foot traffic and hand & knees searches.

I got my CTX 3030 and started the search. I think I swung my machine twice before getting a good hit. Dug down with my trowel and unearthed the marker. The whole search took less than 1 minute. It took longer for the machine to turn on then it did to find the marker. Mark was searching about 6 feet away from where the marker was located.

If you have lost something metal in the South Jersey Area, including Southeastern Pennsylvania or Northern Delaware give me a call. Save yourself a lot of frustration trying to find it on your own or wasting money trying to rent or buy a metal detector. It takes years to learn how to use a metal detector properly. Found Jewelry Amongst Glendale Fire Ashes

  • from Santa Monica (California, United States)

Mike lost about 60-70% in a fire in Glendale, CA a couple months ago. He got ahold of me through the RingFinders website and chose me due to my fire recovery experience from many previous fires. I pulled up to a large two story house up in the mountains. Once he showed me where his mother’s closet was, where a lot of the jewelry had been stored, it seemed like the majority of the second story and the roof had collapsed onto the first story. So I made a grid of the area, set up sifting screens, and methodically started to shovel material into the screens from one corner of the house to the other. After a short amount of time I began to find glass crystals which were remnants from a large chandelier, and many other artifacts that the family had from previous generations. After a couple hours of digging, I recovered a small, melted box that held many pieces of jewelry including a beautiful large, white gold cross covered with stones. After a little more searching, I made the plan to come back another day during daylight. About three weeks later after the heavy rain had died down, I returned to the site. Hesitant to climb a ladder to the second story, with a rickety burnt out floor and no roof, I started the same process on the second floor for other lost jewelry from a bedroom bureau. Right away I began to find earrings, charms, medallions, and many charred coins. I couldn’t find everything they had lost in the fire, but recovered everything that I could, that I could safely get to. Mike was very happy to call his wife and mother to tell them about the recovered jewelry that they believed was lost forever. They are looking forward to rebuilding their lives in a newly modeled home.

Lost Rolex Gold Ring in La Verne, CA Returned

  • from Santa Monica (California, United States)

A few days ago I received a call from a high school student named Nick. His father passed away just under 6 months ago, and his mom gave him his father’s ring. He was really distraught, Nick called me asking if I could come over after he got out of school. I went to meet him the next day. His friends were throwing a football in the front yard and that’s when the ring got lost. The whole yard was covered in bushes and tall leaves, making it difficult to find the ring.  I used my metal detector to search for a signal, but there was a lot of dirt so I had to rake it up and sift it through my sifting screen. After about an hour I got a weak signal from one of the big leafy bushes near the front and moved the leaves out of the way to get a better visual. There was the ring, sitting there with a big Rolex symbol on it. I was very happy to return the sentimental ring to the young high school boy, who was happy to have a piece of his father with him forever.

Lost 1980 Texas Aggie Ring (found) by Chris Dean TRF, Kerrville, Texas

  • from Kerrville (Texas, United States)

Jeffrey lost his Texas Aggie class ring renovating a 1940’s house. When he searched the web for Metal Detector Kerrville, he was surprised to find the first source was TheRingFinders.com. Jeffrey called me and said he knew he was wearing his ring en-route to the house and felt sure he lost it in the yard while there. On arrival at the house I realized this might be a daunting task as reconstruction was in full swing – building debris, roofing materials, and plenty of workmen everywhere! Jeffrey explained to me what he was doing and the approximate paths he had taken the day the ring slipped off his finger. I was able to search the perimeters of the property but due to the amount workmen around the house I had to return after hours.  Upon return in the evening with my Garrett AT Pro, I was able to detect (along with a lot of roofing nails) Jeffrey’s Gold Ring buried below the surface near where the debris trailer had been. It had certainly been stepped on many times. I called Jeffrey and asked him to describe his ring and then I told him “I found it”. He exclaimed “OMG, I Love You” and then said ” I don’t really love you but I love you!” It’s amazing what people say when you tell them you found their lost ring and even more amazing seeing the smile on their face when you return it, which I was able to the next day.

Lost wedding Ring found at Strouds Run

  • from Marietta (Ohio, United States)

I was contacted by Derrick and we made arrangements to meet on 4/21/17. here is a quick summery of the days events in his words;

About seven months ago I was playing volleyball at a local state park with a few members from church. It was a hot day, and my ring which was a size too big would often slide off my finger. After about an hour or so I noticed my ring was missing. My friend and I looked all over and were unable to locate it. The following day I purchased my own metal detector to try and find my ring, but I had no luck.

I contacted The Ring Finders in hopes of throwing a Hail Mary. Steve did a phenomenal job and was committed to finding my ring. It took him all of four hours to locate it. The ring was in perfect condition. I would highly recommend these guys.

Thanks Steve & The Ring Finders
