Lost and Found Blanchard, OK

  • from Norman (Oklahoma, United States)
I was contacted regarding a lost hand-made fixed-blade knife a goat rancher had dropped while cutting a round bale of hay for his livestock.  Ranchers will cut the twine from the hay bales, then roll the bales across the pasture or spread them out for livestock to graze.  After spreading the hay, the rancher noticed his knife was not in its sheath on his waist.  This hand-made knife was special to the owner, made of Damascus steel with a G10 handle.
The owner spent a couple of hours kicking around and sifting through the hay with no success.  He thought about renting a metal detector then realized he did not know how to operate one properly so he looked up metal detecting recovery services and found me.
Later the same day I arrived at the location and within 20 minutes the knife was located and returned to its owner.

Wedding Ring Found! A Cornfield Search – West Bend, WI.

  • from Menomonee Falls (Wisconsin, United States)

November 12 marked a day of profound sadness for West Bend resident, Michael Schultz. His loose-fitting wedding ring came up missing after a day’s activities. He had done chores on their country horse farm, spent time sighting in hunting rifles in anticipation of the upcoming deer season and then made a trip to town. A recently harvested cornfield served as a 100-yard shooting range. Later, as he stood in line at a grocery store, Michael noticed, to his horror, his wedding ring was missing from his hand!

Michael had recently lost weight which resulted in his ring fitting loosely. He remembered thinking that very morning how it might be best to store the ring away until it could be resized. Now, he regretted not heeding the thought. He was truly grieving his loss and all the precious memories the ring held.

Michael’s wife, Nikki, reached out to me several days later. After speaking with her on the phone, I concluded the ring could be anywhere. The most likely place to search seemed to be the cornfield where Michael had taken his gloves off and on as he sighted in his rifles. But the area was similar in size to a football field. No matter, it would be a process of elimination.

I arrived early afternoon on November 22, 10 days after the ring went missing. The remains of corn stalks made the search challenging, hampering the swinging of my search coil. After 3-hours of searching, it was pitch black. I still had about another hour of searching left when a signal caught my attention. Beneath a muddy corn leaf, Michael’s gold and diamond ring appeared with the help of a flashlight!

Michael and his family were overwhelmed at the sight of the ring! Hugs and tears of joy ensued.

This was yet another amazing find in what was, by all accounts, a long-shot search. However, the ring’s hiding place was no match for modern technology and perseverance even in a vast cornfield in the black of night.

Found Extremely Important Keychain in the Leaves

I got a call earlier this week from a gentleman who had lost something extremely sentimental to him, and was desperately needing it to be found.

Early this year, his significant other had come down with a serious medical issue that took her life way too early. She had a real big heart for animals, and dogs….and of course, him! Her keychain had several dog charms attached to it, and he kept it with him at all times, no matter where he went. It was a part of her.

One day he had been out raking and had also ridden his bike down a leafy hill where he lost control and fell. Later, he discovered his pocket was empty and his heart sank. He searched through the rakings and where he had fallen, with no success. After some web searching, he found my listing and gave me a call. His voice shook with emotion and I instantly knew how important this search was. We made arrangements to meet when I didn’t have work.

Today, I met him at the house and he showed me the search areas. Luckily, in under 5 minutes, I got a signal, looked down and saw a Toyota symbol peeking out from under a leaf. It was her keychain with all charms intact! He gave me a huge hug! He said it was about the best thing that could happen to him.

I am so fortunate to be able to help in situations like this. I’m very glad it was a success!

Wedding Ring Recovered – Clayton!

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)

I got a text from a woman whose husband had lost his wedding ring while doing yard work. Not an unusual story – it’s actually fairly common. He had lost it several weeks earlier and although they had searched (including a neighbor with a metal detector), they had not been able to locate the ring. His birthday was coming up in a few days and she wanted to surprise him with the ring that he now believed was gone. We made arrangements to meet at the house so she could show me where he thought he had lost it. The property was fairly large and she said that he had covered probably 2/3 of the property with his yard work, so I was anticipating a lengthy search. The husband thought it was in “the burn pile”, an area where they burned branches, sticks, and other yard waste. She thought it was in the pile of sticks yet to be burned (and I was dreading having to move all of the sticks to get down to the ground!). I figured I’d start my search in those two places and work outward. Starting with the burn pile, I first pulled up a burnt aluminum can, but my second target was the ring! Fortunately they had not done any burning since the ring was lost, so while it was sitting in burnt soil, the ring itself was just fine. She’s planning to surprise him with the ring at his upcoming birthday dinner.

Mom’s Wedding Ring Recovered – Greensboro!

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)

I was contacted by a woman who had initially lost two rings, but had found one before calling me. While we were speaking about the when and where, she told me the backstory. Both her parents had passed and she had a ring from each. She decided to wear the two rings around her neck, but had the rings together on a hoop earring, which was in turn, looped onto a gold chain. She was spreading straw onto newly seeded grass in her back yard, and in rearranging the straw with a rake, she saw her father’s ring on the ground, which is when she realized that the hoop earring had opened and dropped the rings. As you might imagine, the hoop wasn’t strong enough to hold the rings securely and it had opened up. Finding the first ring was a good indicator about the location of the second, but she had searched extensively and hadn’t been able to locate it. After having her show me the areas where she’d been working, I started the search. After finding the usual yard trash (small pieces of aluminum, iron nails, screws, and a few pennies), I was able to locate her ring. In her own search, she had unknowingly stepped on it and pushed it down into the mud. Although it wasn’t visible, my detector wasn’t bothered by the mud and I was able to recover the ring. Given how important the rings were to her, it was great to see the joy in her eyes when the missing ring was recovered and returned!

Class ring found and returned to family.

  • from Lincoln (Nebraska, United States)

I came across a class ring. Us ring finders know that every ring holds a story. This ring had belonged to a young man named Tren who tragically passed away right after graduating. I was able to contact the family and his younger brother received the ring back on behalf of the family on this the 25th anniversary of Trens passing. It was an honor to serve the family in returning such a special sentimental ring.

Men’s Gold Wedding Ring Lost While Changing Tire, Found With A Metal Detector, in Saco, Maine

  • from Old Orchard Beach (Maine, United States)

On Monday night, November 18th, I started receiving Facebook notifications, for both my personal Facebook account, Dennis Boothby and for The Ring Finders of Maine. People were tagging me about a lost wedding ring that had posted to the Bidd Saco Group Facebook Page. I read the post about the lost ring, in Saco, but no location was given, by the poster, Karla Ann. This is exactly what someone should do, when posting about a lost piece of jewelry. You never want to give the location of a lost piece of jewelry, that was lost in a public place. Even though 99% of people are honest, there is always that 1% that is out for themselves. Only reveal the location to someone you can trust, including me, The Ring Finders Of Maine, I will be happy to help. If you post about a piece of lost jewelry, you may mention the town and say that you lost your ring and describe the ring. Hopefully someone honest will find it and turn it in.

So, after reading the post by Karla Ann, I sent her a PM and made a comment, on her post, mentioning all the comments mentioning me. My comment said

“Thank you everyone, for thinking of me and the referrals. I truly appreciate your support ❤️🙏

Karla Ann, If there is anything I can do, please message me on my Facebook Page, The Ring Finders of Maine or call me at 207-423-3027.

Thank you and prayers for you getting your wedding ring back 🙏🙏🙏”

I did hear back from Karla Ann and she replied

“Hi Dennis,

Thank you for your reply.

We think the ring was dropped in a parking lot. Not buried at the beach or anything.

We went back to look for it.

It was the lot at the Saco heath preserve, my husband changed a flat tire. Thinks it was lost at that time”.

After some more messaging back and forth with Karla Ann I told her I would absolutely search for her husband, Naz’s, wedding ring, first thing in the morning, as soon as I dropped my 7 year old granddaughter, off at school. Once I walked her to school, I came home and immediately drove to the Saco Heath Preserve. I parked opposite of where they had parked, to change the tire. I started up my metal detector and decided to search all the leaves, along the edge of the dirt parking lot. Nothing found but the usual trash of pull tabs and foil. When I reached the corner of the parking lot, I turned around and took a 1/2 step, to my left. I would now be searching the actual gravel parking lot. As I started across the parking lot, I received the low tone I love to hear and I was between a 1/4 to 1/2 way across the lot. The signal was coming from underneath a fallen leaf. I moved the leaf and there was a bright yellow gold ring, staring back at me. I had found Naz’s ring in less than 10 minutes. I immediately made a video and sent it to Karla Ann and showed her the ring. We made plans to meet back at the Saco Heath Preserve at 10:30am and Naz would be getting his ring back.

Once Cheryl and I arrived, we saw Naz and Karla Ann already there. After introducing ourselves, I handed a very happy Naz, his ring back. Karla Ann was fighting back tears and I could see her eyes were watering up. Always a great feeling to to able to help people out with such a sentimental piece of jewelry.

I asked how the ring became lost and Naz told us that he and Karla Ann had come down to Saco, to have their snow tires mounted, for the upcoming winter. Once the left the Rt 1 Saco dealership, they were heading home to Waterboro, when they got a flat tire. They pulled into the parking lot on the Saco Heath Preseve and Naz changed the flat tire. Once back in the vehicle and on the road, Naz noticed his wedding ring was missing. They went back to where they had changed the tire, but didn’t see the wedding ring in the area, around the car. Not knowing if he lost the ring, prior to the flat tire, they drove back to the dealership and searched there. Still no ring was found at the dealership. That’s when Karla Ann made the Facebook Post.

As we were exchanging the ring, Naz showed us where he had parked his vehicle, to change the tire and asked where I found the ring. Where I found the ring was approximately 15-20 feet from where the tire was changed. Naz and Karla Ann hadn’t searched that far out because they thought the ring would be right next to the vehicle. It appears that the ring either rolled away, when he lost it or it flung off his finger. When the ring was found, it did not appear to have been run over or hit by a car.

After saying goodbye to Naz and Karla Ann, they decided to walk the trail of the Saco Heath Preserve. A beautiful easy trail everyone should try. Me, I am told by my better half that I need to mulch leaves. I’d rather be putting smiles on peoples faces, like Karla and Naz, than do yard work but that is where we are at. Congratulations Karla & Naz and thank you for placing your trust in me, The Ring Finders of Maine😀

Platinum Wedding Ring Found in Sand at Beach Engagement Celebration with a Metal Detector

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Stan the Metal Detector Man can help you find your lost ring or other metal item .. Call or text. 949-500-2136
… I received a call from Zachary , who lost his platinum ring while he was at an engagement beach party in Newport Beach, CA. It was a large party with over 100 people attending. They were set up for a whole day on the beach with several shade canopies and umbrellas. Also many towels and beach chairs set up for the event.

I was a bit concerned that he wasn’t sure where the ring came off his finger and so many people were still here at the general area of the loss, which would make it difficult to do a proper grid search. Also, I felt walking through the group of party goers might interfere with the celebration.

I told Zachary that it would be no problem to come back after the party is over. That was the plan, except while I was here, we decided to scan a couple easy to detect areas that he suspected the ring might be.

After pulling out my detector, I got all kinds of attention from many of the people at the party. At the second spot he directed me only 10 ft.x 10ft. square. I got the unique sound of a platinum wedding band.  Boom !! Successful recovery almost before anybody knew I was searching for a lost ring.

I can help you, call for information or prompt service at your location. “I WILL TRY ANYWHERE” Stan the Metal Detector Man.. 949-500-2136
