Received a referral from fellow ring finder Dave Milsted as he was unavailable at the time. I spoke with Ben whom explained that his wife, Samantha, accidently dropped her ring into the sand after taking it off to apply sunscreen and forgot to put it back on before standing. I took the brief ride over and met up with Ben and Samantha on Trenton Ave beach and recovered Samanthas ring within a few minutes. Another happy couple!

Chalker Beach Old Saybrook CT, Lost Gold Baby ring returned 2025

July 5, 2025, Chalker beach Old Saybrook , CT. Bryan and his family were enjoying a beach day on a crowded beach when he realized that his gold chain holding his sentimental gold baby ring had opened. Somewhere in the area it had fallen into the sand, it could have been near his chairs or along a circuitous path he had walked between several other beach goers. Word quickly spread about the lost ring. A friend of mine at the beach mentioned that I might be around to help since I am known in the beach community as the lost jewelry recovery person. I have lived at the beach for twenty years and have helped others find their lost jewelry. Amazingly I had just gotten back home from Bluff Point State Park beach in Groton for a wedding ring recovery. I was at the beach within 5 minutes. we scoped out the area where his blanket, umbrella and chairs had been set up and I started detecting. We had to move the chairs because of the interferences and when nothing was found I asked him to walk the path where he noticed it was missing. A few feet into the path I had a reasonable signal but had interference from nearby chairs. The people kindly moved a few and I brought out the pin pointer and got a great signal. A few sweeps of the pin pointer and I saw the glint of a tiny gold ring.  I smiled and said we had found it. The beach crowd that was watching the events unfold exploded in shouts of joy. He looked at me stunned and then realized it was now found and gave me a great big hug. I asked for some pictures, and everyone then left the beach with smiles. Glory to St Anthony and to God for their divine help. Miracles do happen.

July 4, 2025, Ambar a lifelong Rhode Islander never takes her jewelry off at the beach. While playing football with her sons at the water’s edge got hit by a wave that washed her diamond gold wedding and engagement rings off her fingers and disappeared into the ocean. she reached out to a friend of mine Gary who is a local ring finder but was on vacation and he recommended me. We often work as a team and cover and help each other as needed. She called me that night and I was there at 6am before the holiday beach crowds started arriving at the beach. She met me there with her brother-in-law and we walked to the spot on the beach where they had been playing. Considering there was a pretty bad storm that suddenly passed through the area over night I started a gridded search of the area and immediately got a great signal at the water’s edge just as the tide was coming in. I scooped up the target and brought it up to her and with the aid of my pin pointer I saw the glint of gold and diamonds in the sand and handed her the engagement ring. One found was a very good sign, I knew the other had to be close to the first one. The incoming tides and wave action was making things a bit more difficult. I was getting a lot of interference and false signals. After calibrating my machine, I got a weaker but still a solid target signal. I scooped up signal and laid it down next to her.  A few seconds later using the pin pointer a diamond wedding band was now popping out of the sand. It took only about ten minutes to get both rings back on her fingers. It actually took me an hour to get there but it was worth every minute to see how happy I made her feel.  Her brother-in-law was stunned and could not believe I was able to recover them. He then took my phone and started taking pictures of the happy occasion. As we were leaving, she excitedly was telling all the incoming beach goers waiting in long lines of our success. I called Gary to thank him for the referral and together as a team we brought the rings back home. Thanks to St Anthony and praise God we were successful. Miracles do happen and have faith and never give up hope. we see miracles every day.

Bluff Point State Park Groton CT Men’s Wedding band returned 2025

July 5, 2025 Lauren and her husband wanted to go to Bluff Point state park on the fourth of July to watch the fireworks display. They decided to go for a swim and Lauren felt her wedding rings getting loose from the cold water and decided to go back to shore to leave them on the blanket. her husband took his ring off at the same time and while handing it to her it dropped into the ocean at about chest level. Lauren quickly searched for best options and considered buying a detector but realized that an underwater detector would be very expensive and being an engineer knew that there would be a learning curve. She then started internet searches for what to do about lost rings and that led her to theringfinders,com she called the two people listed and when I answered she entrusted me with coming to look for it and I was there within a half hour. I knew the tide was an important factor and raced to be there before it changed. I did not realize it was going to be a three-mile walk to get to the secluded beach spot. But she had marked the location beautifully with a driftwood log. When we arrived, there was a family sitting there and we asked if e could share the spot as a base for the recovery. Lauren described the circumstances from the previous night and I jumped into the water and began the search. Within minutes I had a sweet signal and lifted my first scoop. The signal was still strong and in the hole. A second scoop and the signal disappeared, and I knew it was in my scoop. I walked to shore and dumped the scoop and then used my trusty pin pointer to isolate the ring. I called her over and had her lift the ring from the sand and then the tears of joy started to flow with an exclamation “I can’t believe it!!” The nearby family joined in the celebration and were shocked. We then took some pictures and made a video reenactment to share with her family. I thought it was so nice that Lauren had also packed us sandwiches for a treat. She called her husband at work and shared the good news and was still in stunned and in awe that we found it so quickly. Funny thing she said she was going to bring a kitchen colander and start scooping the sand if I had not been able to come and find it. That may have taken quite a while, so she was happy that I had agreed to come so quickly. She had been told by others that it was probably a lost cause, so this made her that much happier with my finding it. Our prayers to Saint Anthony were answered glory to God.

Recently, while wrapping up a ring recovery at Silverstrand Beach, I received a text from Bob in Santa Barbara. He had lost his wedding ring while doing yard work in his backyard. Lost Ring Found in the woods

This nice lady lost her beautiful wedding ring in the woods across the street from her home. But she wasn’t sure where. I searched using a detector with a small coil so I could check in weeds, brush and around trees. It took about an hour to find it in some weeds it fell into, out of sight, next to a pine tree. The detector was telling me right where it was but I couldn’t see it. It had fallen down to soil level in a tight clump of weeds. She couldn’t believe I found if. I wa happy too because it could have been anywhere. It was quite different from a beach search.

Ring found two weeks after lost

Found this ring while looking for another. Asked around and heard of a fellow who lost a ring about two week before. Was able to get his name and contact him for a return. He sent me a picture of his lost ring and that is indeed the one I found. Ring was mailed back to him. Some times we just get lucky.

LOST SILVER & GOLD WEDDING RING in WALNUT COVE, NC……. FOUND!!!

Received a text from a past customer that his wife bad lost her silver ring (AGAIN)!

He asked me if I could come and find it today, I said yes and headed out.

l arrive and was told he put her on his shoulders and was spinning her around and around many times fast and it flew off her finger and into some vines and briars. It flew about 30 feet!!

I turn on and set up my machine to find silver and luckily it was on the farthest side from the direction it flew off. It was only about 2.5 feet into the vines.

Men’s Gold Wedding Band Lost While Swimming in Booneville, MS… FOUND!

I received a call and text on Sunday (June 22nd, 2025) afternoon from Taylor stating he lost his wedding band while swimming in a pond on his family’s property in Booneville, Mississippi.  I was traveling for work training during the week and told Taylor that I would give him a call after I de-planed.  Taylor told me that he felt his wedding band slip off his finger in about 3-4 feet of water when he was about 10-15 yards from the shoreline.  He was helping his kids out of the deeper end.  I told him that I didn’t get back to Huntsville, AL until Friday, but I would be more than happy to conduct a search on the weekend.  We setup a 9am meetup time on Saturday, June 28th.

I met Taylor in Booneville after a beautiful drive 2 hour and 15-minute drive through the Alabama and Mississippi countryside.  He helped me take my water detecting gear down to the pond.  I got in the water and had Taylor direct me to where he thought his ring came off.  I put in my marker pole and went back to the shoreline for my Minelab Equinox 900 with the 15-inch coil and long handled Xtreme scoop.  Taylor went inside the house and I started searching in the water.

On my walk out to the marker pole I found a penny.  Then, when I was about 1-2 feet from the pole on the left side I received a nice sounding tone on my Nox.  It took about 5 tries until I could get the target in my scoop, because the water was up to my chin and I was slightly buoyant from my wetsuit bottoms.  The pond bottom was a soft mud.  Once I confirmed that I had the item in my scoop, I walked over to the shallow end to shake out the mud.  I soon saw a gold ring glimmering back up at me — we had Taylor’s wedding band!  I took out the ring just as Taylor’s mother-in-law, Jenny and Taylor’s wife, Brooke we’re walking outside.  Taylor followed behind.  I held it up for them to see and we all cheered!  I looked up to the sky and said, “thank you, God!”

I walked to the shoreline to hand Taylor his ring and the family dog, Loki was there to greet me and celebrate.  Taylor and his family were so grateful for the help and told me how much it meant to them.  Taylor and Brooke had just gotten married on November 16th.  I told them that helping others and seeing the joyful reactions is the reason why I do this.  I give God all the glory.

Taylor invited me in for some coffee and Jenny offered some delicious homemade breakfast – biscuits and gravy (what I wanted all week lol), eggs, and a porkchop.  I graciously accepted.  Jenny’s husband, Darryl had just arrived home and we all enjoyed a nice conversation.  We then said our good-byes and I was back on the road headed home to Huntsville.  Until the next one… please take care and God bless!

Sara’s engagement ring recovered

Sara was vacationing at Ft. Walton Beach Florida when she lost her wedding rings. She was able to find the wedding band but not the engagement ring. She had returned home to Illinois when she called asking if I could find her lost ring. She sent me an aerial with an outline of the area she lost it and a photo of her engagement ring. The next morning i searched the area and found her ring within 8 or 10 feet of where she predicted but was 5 or 6 inches deep. The next day Sara and I did a face time call with the folks at my local UPS store and sent her ring home secure, insured and with in person delivery. Sara was very happy her ring is back where it belongs!
