Judie called, seeming a little desperate, asking if I would be able to come and help her find her wedding ring. I let her know I was available, and would leave right away.
It took a while to find parking, but I was able to get to the area quickly. As soon as I got there her husband Rien found me, and led me to where the loss occurred. It amazed Judie and Rien that I was able to find the ring in just a few minutes, after they had spent an enormous amount of time looking for it. They had only been married for 5 months, so this loss was very important to find. I met some very nice people, and was able to allow them to sleep well that night!

Vernon’s wife contacted me about doing a search for his wedding ring he had lost the day before in a small cove at the state beach. We arranged to have him meet me there so he could take me to the area of the loss.
When I got there I met with Vernon, and we walked to the cove he had been in the day before. He showed me what he had done to cause the loss, and where he thought it probably went. I began my search, and it wasn’t long before I had his wedding ring in my scoop. His assessments were correct about where it had gone which made the search very quick. I was happy to get it back to him, and it made for a nice day.

Bill contacted me about his lost ring. He had lost it that day, and was wondering if I would be able to help. I let him know I was available, but he was not going to be able to meet me there. I let him know that if he could give me directions to the area, I would go and do the search for him. He was able to do so, and I was off to do the search.
When I got there, I looked, and compared the photos he had sent, as well as going over the description he had given me of the site. I searched in one area with no luck, and then moved to another area near by that looked trafficked, and proceeded to search. After two passes, I found his ring, and sent him a photo to make sure this was the one I was looking for. He said it was, and we arranged to meet in Santa Monica for the return. For Bill this was a happy experience, because he was on vacation from New York, and did not want to leave his wedding ring in California

During the Labour Day long weekend, I received a message from Ken Dewerson, fellow ring finder that a friend had reached out to him for assistance. Due to previous commitments, he sent the information to me to assist. I called Kassandra and introduced myself and she explained that while cooling off in our local waters, playing with some children, she felt her ring slip off her finger. It was a gold and diamond ring she had received from her Mama for graduating and she said it was very sentimental to her. She spent several days looking for the ring herself but was unable to locate it. She posted on Facebook that she had lost the ring, and unfortunately, also where she lost it. This of course concerned me as I know that others may try to find the lost ring as well. I was spending the day with my son and family an hour north but arranged to go and search for her ring as soon as I was home from my family visit.
I arrived at the location in the early evening of Sunday August 31st and went out in search of the ring. The ground was not at all sandy like most areas in the Okanagan, rather it was very rocky. I started my grid search and my first impression was that there were not many targets, which was good – less digging required. I hit a sinker weight first, then a second and then the dreaded pull tab from a can. I also noticed what appeared to be other dig spots in the area and I feared that someone had indeed tried to find the ring. However, as I had found the other trash items I thought that perhaps it was missed and not found. I completed three short grid runs and on the fourth, in about four feet of water I got that sweet tone on my detector. It took a bit of wrangling to get my scoop under the layer of rocks but on my second scoop, the sweet sound was gone and clearing my scoop, the ring was found!
While still in the water, I took a picture of the ring and sent it to Kassandra who was thrilled and overjoyed that I had found her ring. She was unable to pick it up that day as she was at a celebration of life for a family member but she received her precious ring back two days later.
