Heirloom Diamond Wedding Ring Lost at Malibu Beach, CA…Recovered and Joyously Returned.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

p1000206p1000205

Erika emailed me Friday night to see if I could help her find her wedding ring she lost the day before at the beach in Malibu, CA. I arranged to meet her there the next morning. This ring had been her great grandmother’s ring, so it had an extreme sentimental value to her. Because it had been gone for 2 days made the possibility, of a recovery just a little more difficult, but it seemed to be a possibility because of where she believed she lost it (not in an area of where the county beach machines clean).

I got to location at the arranged time, and looked around waiting for Erika. I received an email from her that she would be later than the set time, so I asked her where she had been on the beach, and what happened to lose the ring when we talked a little later on the phone. I started my hunt where I understood her directions to start. I apparently wasn’t listening properly, because I started on the opposite side. I started finding an assortment of things, as well as some coins. About a half an hour later I got to the area she had been sitting in and ran one grid line. I was about half way through the second line when I looked down and saw what looked like a gold band sticking out of the sand. I reached down, and pulled out this beautiful diamond ring. This ring had been there for 2 days, in a high traffic area, sticking out of the sand, and not found by anyone else. It was meant to go back to Erika!

I took the ring and placed it on my little finger’s first digit, with the diamonds towards the inside of my hand. It wasn’t 2 minutes later that Erika walked up. She looked at me and saw my progress in the sand, and then asked the ‘not so sure’ question, “no luck huh?”. I then opened my hand, and said, “you mean like this?”. She was instantly overcome with disbelief and joy. As we were talking later, she stated in question form, that ” you really like making people’s day don’t you?”, and I thought, yes that is exactly it!

Thursday November 17th Kevan was playing Rugby and lost his wedding ring, it was dark when he discovered it gone. The next day he returned with a friend and a metal detector, they had no luck locating the ring. His wife Juliane heard about me from a friend Christine (  https://theringfinders.com/blog/Don.Marshall/page/2/  )  I had recovered her husbands wedding ring 3 years before.

Juliane called me and I went to the park Friday afternoon, no luck. After getting more details I returned Saturday am and recovered the ring.

I so love my job.

Wedding Ring Lost in Central Louisiana – Found

I received an email from Jason saying that his wife, Patrice, had lost her platinum engagement ring while playing with her kids in their back yard. She then bought a detector and tried to find it, without success. He was asking about my services and availability. I was able to start the hunt the next morning at 7:30. Patrice grabbed one of my detectors and helped with the search. The search area was not very large. It included a fenced back yard, a strip of un-fenced land bordering a lake and part of the neighbor’s back yard. About halfway through a grid search in the fenced back yard, I had a good hit and saw the ring, visible when the thick grass was moved. I was happy that the lake had not accepted the ring during their time fishing.

Thank you Jason and Patrice for the generous reward. This will help keep our services available.img_0568img_0589img_0590

Platinum Wedding Band and Gold Heirloom Ring Lost in Redondo Beach, CA…Found and Cheerfully Returned.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

p1000199p1000200

I received a call a couple of days ago from Shilpa about two of her rings she lost earlier in the day at the beach. One of the rings was her platinum wedding band, and the other was an heirloom ring that had been in the family for a long time. I was able to go right away, and was there in about 20 minutes.

When I arrived, she told me that she had been on her towel and took her rings off to apply sunscreen. Later she got up to go, and shook out her towel. It wasn’t long after that she realized she had left her rings on the towel when she lifted it up and shook the sand off. I got ready and began my search. I walked a couple of grid lines when Shilpa directed me closer to where she believed she shook the towel. I then swung a couple of times and got a good signal, the heirloom ring was in the scoop. swung once more, and the wedding band was in the scoop. She was so happy to have them back, and I was so happy to have been a part of being able to help her. Great day!

Wedding Ring Lost while throwing mulch and planting shrubs in Katy, Texas (found) by John Volek

I was contacted by Brian regarding his lost wedding ring in the front yard of his residence in Katy, Texas, Brian advised he had been landscaping his front yard, throwing down new mulch and plant new shrubs when he discovered his wedding ring missing from his finger. Brian said he spent a hour or better looking for his lost ring in the front yard, but was unsuccessful at finding it.

Arrangements were made to search for Brian’s lost ring the following day, and the point of contact would be his daughter Ashley. You can see from the smiles on Brian’s daughter and son, it was a good out-come.

Check out the video to see the recovery!

Lost Gold and Diamonds Wedding Ring at Makaleha Beach, North Shore Oahu…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

ns-wai-aud-vince
ns-wai-aud-ring
This ring find started when I got a call from Vince a soldier stationed in Hawaii from Lancaster, PA. While relaxing on the beach reading a book he placed his wedding band on his chest. When he got up to leave he forgot about the ring and it disappeared into the sand. He didn’t realize he lost it until he was back at his car. Vince went back to look but it was getting dark so he marked the spot and went home. He was searching for a metal detector rental and thats how he found me. I don’t rent metal detectors from my business, I’d rather provide the service myself. Works out better that way. Vince had a friend with a metal detector but that didn’t pan out so he called me back for a ring finder service. I met Vince & his lovely wife Iris at McDonalds and we proceeded from there to the remote beach. Vince took me to the area he thought the ring fell off and I started a grid search. He marked the spot previously with a seashell in the property barbed wire fence. I did a thorough grid search with only a few scrap pieces of metal found. Vince looked at the area and decided it might be farther to the East but not past the next tree. I started that grid search with only a few more coin targets. Just as I was getting to that last tree I got a great tone in my headset and one scoop down out popped Vince’s ring. Finally, and at the extreme end of the grid. Not always as we remember it! Vince & Iris were very thankful and Vince asked if he was out of the doghouse? She let him out! Oddly enough I got a text a few hours later from Vince saying someone with an Excalibur arrived at the beach shortly after I left. Lucky for us. Timimng is everything in this hobby. Aloha to Vince & Iris.

Lost Platinum& Diamonds Engagement Ring at Sherwood Beach Waimanalo…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find started when I got a phone call from a local Wedding photographer. His clients went to Sherwood Beach in Waimanalo for a photo shoot and while the bride was walking to the spot her Engagement Ring dropped somewhere along the path or at the site. Everyone immediately started searching but with such a vast area to cover it was hopeless. The photographer’s assistant named Mao agreed to meet me the next morning with the unfortunate Japanese couple who were on their Honeymoon in Hawaii. The next morning at 11AM Mao, Mika & Shuichi from Tokyo Japan met me in the parking lot of Sherwood Beach. Mika demonstrated and Mao translated to me how the ring was lost. I asked Mika to walk slowly to the photo shoot area and I’d follow behind with the Excalibur. The ground was surprisingly sterile of metal targets. The few detections I was able to eliminate with my pinpointer. It was a sandy area covered in pine needles and mini pinecones. I asked Mika if she held her dress up with the ring in it all the way to the wooded photo shoot site and she said, Yes. I asked her to show me that area as we weren’t having any luck along the path. The woods looked so similar there were actually two sites Mika thought could be it. I thought this would be the rings first chance to fall out. OK I’ll search them both. These areas had plenty of metal trash so I had to work through it. After covering both areas with no ring I told Mika I wanted to go back to the first site as she hadn’t had me go more towards the beach as in the second site. Also most people for the first time like to look at the surf from the nearest vantage point. It paid off. I got a loud but scratchy tone and stuck the pinpoiter into the sand as with each of the other 25-30 targets and up popped the stunning engagement ring. Wow! “I found it” I shouted out to Mika. As she came running over tears were already pouring from her eyes. It had been about 45 minutes but that must have seemed like an eternity to Mika. Suichi & Mao joined us and we had a group hug. Everyone had a smile and the elation and thankfulness shown to me was overwhelming. Even I got a lump in my throat. Mika is going home to Japan that afternoon with her ring. Honeymoon saved. Aloha to Mika & Shuichi and to Mao for thinking of the ringfinders.

Lost 1914 $2.50 Gold Piece Medallion at Aulani Disney Resort Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

amed-lucasamed-oamed-r
This Gold Medallion hunt began when I had a text from my wife saying Lucas from Ohio needed Metal Detecting services. I called Lucas and he had returned to Kailua where he was staying while on vacation from Air Force duty in Alaska. While he was playing with his daughter in the lagoon during one of the tosses into the water her hand accidentally grabbed his gold medallion necklace and it broke from around his neck. Lucas was able to retrieve the necklace immediately but the medallion vanished in the sand of the lagoon. He searched to no avail and then when he got home Googled metal detecting service and thats where he found All Island Treasure Detectors. Lucas sent me a Google Map pin drop of the location. Ironically, I was still at Aulani from a previous search so I told Lucas I’d start the search now. I gathered my gear and headed to the lagoon. I drew two lines on the shoreline and started my grid search. After a nickel & a dime target there was a very loud quivering sound target. One scoop and there was the Medallion. It’s great when the client gives excellent locating data. Aloha to Lucas and Thank You for your service to the country.

Lost Wedding Ring Reunited with Owner after Two Months – Brings Hope

It was a busy day for Big Island Metal Detecting!

Two desperate callers rang within 10 minutes of each other requesting searches for their lost jewelry.

What started out as two recoveries ended with the discovery of a third ring!

Since all searches are time-sensitive, Sylvie searched one beach looking for the lost wedding ring – while Brent searched another beach with his friend for a lost earing.

During his search, Brent found a very large ring under the water with the inscription “Dario Loves Fallon” written on the outside.

ring-1As the ring did not belong to either client, we went to work to track down the owner, a feat we thought would be nearly impossible, especially without a last name to search the World Wide Web!

A Google search turned up only one page that promised a little hope of identifying the owner. A Go Fund Me webpage had the matching names, “…Dario, Fallon’s husband..” The Go Fund Me page was set up to request contributions because Fallon had a life-threatening medical emergency and required immediate surgery. Following the page links and using the new details, it was then possible to then find their Facebook pages – which indeed had photos of them on the Big Island of Hawaii a month earlier!

We were excited and emotional at the prospect of having found the owner – and if this was indeed them, then we knew that such fantastic news would be welcome news due to their current, grave situation. Rings can be so incredibly sentimental and in our experience, it can make such a huge difference to have a ring returned that was thought to be gone forever. We sent a message to them on Facebook and excitedly checked the next morning for a response.dario-palavra

Dario Palavra replied, “I’m so shocked that you guys found my ring. We were just in Hawaii in August!.It is my wedding ring – my wife has a matching ring. I figured it was long gone. I thought I lost it in the deep water since I love to swim. I’m so happy that you guys found it – since we got back from Hawaii we been dealing with a lot of health problems with my wife – I almost lost her – she had less than 10% chance of living and now when you tell me you found our wedding ring, that is amazing. Once I get it back it is going to be glued to my finger!!!”

We express mailed the ring to Dario, and soon afterwards got a photo of him wearing the ring he thought he would never see again!
