I received a call about a lost Women’s Gold Diamond Engagement Band in their back yard. We setup a good day and time to complete a search.

The ring was lost as she was shaking her hand and then flew off somewhere in the grass. I started my search through the grass then had a hit. As I pulled the grass back then was the ring laying at the bottom of the grass.

He was very Happy to have the ring return to them.

I found a lost ring today for Mike. He lost his ring a few days ago while doing some yard work in his backyard. It took about an hour to find it. He was very happy to get it back. He said he had the ring since the 1970’s.

After reading of my recent recovery of a lost earring in a garden near Kerikeri, Lucy contacted me to see if I could help locate her aquamarine engagement ring, lost in a lawn four months ago.
She had her jewellery out while getting ready for a trip out, and when she came to put it on noticed it had been moved, and her precious ring was missing.
It didn’t take long to discover her three year old had been playing with it, and taken it outside.
On careful questioning, her daughter admitted she had lost it “in the grass”.
After the inevitable immediate search, Lucy gave up hope of ever seeing it again, and more so after the lawn was inevitably mown.
Until yesterday, when I turned up to see what I could do.
Being a farm environment, the going was very slow with the many targets you find in this sort of ground, each needing to be verified before moving on.
I cleared the likely play area, and moved down to the orchard – after all, what three year old can resist fresh plums!
It wasn’t long before I got a low tone in the headphones, in amongst the trees.
As I lifted a small plug of soil, the edge of a ring was visible – I teased it out from the grass roots and gave it a quick rinse in a nearby puddle while Lucys son went to find her.
Her tears flowed freely as I handed it back to her, and she explained to a confused three year old that these were “tears of happiness”, and not like the “sad” tears when she realised it had been lost.
I waited a while for the teary red eyes to subside before the reunion photo 🙂

Newlyweds Wedding Ring Lost On Surf City Beach Found The Next Day

I woke up around 4:00 am and checked my business messages.  Just after 1:30, Caroline informed me her husband, of almost 6 months, Edson had lost his gold wedding band, the prior afternoon, somewhere on the beach.  I later discovered she also posted on a social media group in the area about the lost ring with a description of the ring but thankfully, not the precise location of the loss.  Later that morning, we made plans to search in the afternoon when the high tide was subsiding because she thought it may have come off while they were walking in the shallow water.  Edson was very good at remembering details that narrowed the search area and within 10 minutes, a very strong signal on a beach that wasn’t providing too many signals proved to be Edson’s lost ring.  The couple was in disbelief that it was found so quickly!

Unfortunately while getting all the cute shots, I dropped my keys somewhere in the field. Talk about needle and haystack, after looking for an hour and the help of a very kind Good Samaritan it became clear I wasn’t going to find them. I had car keys, house keys, storage keys — everything on that key chain. I knew all I needed was a metal detector. That’s where Crystal Coast Ring Finders came in. Jeff was enjoying a Sunday afternoon with his family at Honeymoon Island State Park as he and his sons were tossing a football around in waist deep water. Jeff reached back on one toss over his head and his 14k white gold wedding ring flew off of his finger into the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Even though there is normally good visibility, Jeff was unable to locate his ring in the water.

Jeff called me the following evening as his wife’s sister had recommended. He gave me the details and texted some maps of the loss area but was not going to be able to meet me on site for a few days. I packed up my gear for a search the next afternoon at roughly the same tide time.

Ocean water searches for rings are truly like “looking for a needle in a haystack” even when someone is there to point you in the right direction and you are already very familiar with the entire beach. Even though I had some maps from Jeff and he had highlighted some distances and directions on them, I was not 100% certain I was in the right location. Speaking to a nearby chair and umbrella vendor about the maps made me a little more confident.

The waters were relatively calm and clear so I began my search in waist deep water gridding the best that I could using parallel and perpendicular landmarks. After searching for about two hours I had recovered a tungsten ring and a crusty penny along with several bottle caps and pull tabs but not Jeff’s ring. I had contacted Jeff as I was beginning my search to get confirmation of the correct search area but he was tied up at work. As I was approaching three hours into the search and having detected the same relatively small area both parallel and perpendicular to the shoreline I was beginning to question my location. I told my wife who had accompanied me that I was going to wrap up today’s search in just a few minutes when I hit a promising target. I didn’t have to scoop deep in the sand because there is a rocky bottom in this area of Honeymoon Island and out popped Jeff’s ring! This is not the first time I have recovered a ring as I was just about to leave the beach. I texted Jeff some photos and obviously he was elated! I later met Jeff at a nearby park and returned the ring.

Ring lost in Coronado found

Michael was at the beach tossing a ball around when his yellow gold wedding ring flew off into the dry sand and disappeared. Having lost his ring before, and with a good outcome by contacting TheRingFinders.com, he knew just who to call this time. I headed over quickly and met Michael at a pre-arranged spot. He escorted me to the search area and explained the circumstances on how the ring was lost. Not a big area, maybe 20 foot square, and after a minute or so, I got the signal I was expecting. A probe with my pin pointer zeroed in on the target and I plucked his ring from the sand. Michael was a happy repeat customer. Thank you for the reward.

FOUND by Metal Detectorist…Engagement Ring and Wedding Band Lost Outside of a Hotel in Florence, Alabama!

Just before noon on Saturday (April 29th, 2023), I received a text message from Emily stating that she had lost both her 14k yellow gold engagement ring and wedding band by a grassy hill outside of a hotel in Florence, Alabama.  Emily said she lost them the night before and that she and her husband, Mannon, had already tried searching with a cheap metal detector they bought from a local sporting goods store.  They were leaving the next day to head home to Mobile, AL, which was about 370 miles south!  Emily said that they were desperate to get the rings back.  I had just gotten home from running some errands and was free the rest of the day.  I told Emily that I would grab my gear and be on the way.

It was about an hour and 10-minute drive to the hotel Emily and Mannon were staying at in Florence, AL.  When I arrived, Mannon showed me the area they thought the rings were lost in.  There were a few holly bushes with those prickly leaves that the rings could have landed in, but I was going to save those until the end lol.

I turned on my Minelab Equinox 800 with the 15-inch coil and got to work.  I found various trash targets in the lady’s gold range, but no rings.  I cleared the main area up to the top of the hill and began expanding my grid outwards.  About 30 minutes in, I had another good signal on my Nox 800, I bent down to check it with my Garret ProPointer AT, and found Emily’s gold wedding band hiding just beneath the grass!  Emily and Mannon came over and were so excited that one of the rings was located.  I said that the engagement ring was probably nearby.  I glanced around and spotted it laying on the surface in plain view about 8 feet away!  Emily and Mannon were so relived and thankful that both rings were found!  They could now make the trip back home without leaving these symbols of love behind.  The reason why I love being a Ring Finder!  We chatted for a few minutes and then I was on my way back to Huntsville.

Tiny Diamond Ear Stud found in Kerikeri Lawn

Adrienne had been working in her Kerikeri garden a few days ago, when she felt her diamond ear stud flick off her ear – and disappear into the kikuyu lawn.
After searching for some time on hands and knees, they gave me a call in the hope I would be able to locate the lost ear stud.
I turned up today to find they had already marked out primary and secondary areas with spray paint, along with a generous safety margin of unmown grass. Textbook stuff.
Whilst they had been able to isolate most of the adjacent electric fences, there was one which they couldn’t trace – that and a buried powerline running right through the search area weren’t going to make life easier when listening for a whisper of platinum though.
I got started with a very tight search pattern and the machine running as sensitive as I could stand, the phones twitching and chattering incessantly from the electrical interference.
After clearing a few false hits, I was pulling at the kikuyu down to the moist soil underneath, where a tiny ear stud was making itself very comfortable.
It’s always warm fuzzies when I’m able to return something so precious.

Gold ring lost, recovered and returned in Wilmington, DE!

Sarah found me in the Ring Finders directory after losing a beautiful gold ring with significant sentimental value. She conveyed to me that she was visiting some friends in Wilmington, DE and was enjoying a beautiful spring evening around a backyard fire pit. She said she had been taking charge of the firepit and collecting brush, sticks and wood in the woods nearby. At some point during the evening she was heartbroken to realize her ring was missing off her finger. It was gold ring with a red coral stone that meant so much to her. She and her friends searched everywhere with no luck. She felt confident that if fell off while she was collecting and snapping wood for the firepit. I was there within 12 hours and spent 30 min looking in the grass and woods surrounding the fire pit…no luck. It then dawned on me that the most obvious place to have started my search was the firepit itself! I walked over…gave it a quick scan and BOOM! A beautiful gold ring signal on my machine…after digging an inch or 2 in the ash….there it was!!! Well….the fire turned the red coral stone to grey and the gold ring itself was a little tarnished from the fire but it can surely be restored to its original beauty! I was happy to be able to come through for Sarah!
