Lost Ring Boogie Boarding, Recovered, Holgate NJ, LBI, Recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

A young couple went to the ocean to do a beautiful engagement photo shoot. All was going well until her hand accidentally got hit and the ring flew off in the water. The photo shoot was over! They found me on the web and gave me the location on a map that it was lost at. I went down and gridded the area until I found it. I did not tell her I found it and surprised her at her house. I love my job!

Received a call about a ring lost at a sand bar kinda far from home. Knew the area well and was headed out to see if I could find it. About 1.5 hour drive and a short walk to meet the owner out on the lake, the search area was narrowed right down thanks to the ON x maps. Owner had pinned the location It was lost and was able to find it in just a few minutes. Him and his son were a great help. Thank you for the call, and very happy I could help find your ring.

Got a message while at work today looking for help finding a very important handed down wedding ring. Found out is was the owners Dads ring so was very sentimental. Headed out as soon as the work day was over. Was at the water and after a brief explanation of possible location it was found in less than 10 minutes. Was very rewarding to see owners reaction. Happy I was able to help find it. Appreciate the call
Hello, is this Luke with The Ring Finders?”, is the greeting I get when answering my phone most days this year. I have received calls for lost cell phones, wedding rings, car keys, necklaces, and buried caches. Some of the searches happened and I found what was lost. Some of them found their item themselves and sadly some of the lost items were never found. One was even a scam that I try to attempt but called off. Also, other Ring Finders were called by this scammer as well. This year has been busy to say the least. However, I always make time for those in need. Karen was a lady in need; I found out when I answered her phone call. See Karen was loading her little dog into the back of her GMC pickup truck. The paw of this dog had somehow snagged the necklace Karen was wearing. Unbeknownst to Karen the dog was loaded up, and her and her husband Charlie drove a few hundred yards over to their camp site. When the paw snagged the necklace, it broke. This wasn’t discovered until Karen had exited the car and walked a few feet. The most devastating fact about this story is that on that necklace was a pendant that was made from the wedding ring Karen’s mom had worn when she was alive. After discovering the broken necklace, the pendant was found to be missing. There was an all-out search party deployed to find that lost pendant. Their efforts were futile and the pendant remained lost. Karen’s daughter was quick with a Google search and found out there is a site and a group of guys that look for lost jewelry. Then Karen called me After hearing all the details of that devastating day, I knew I should search for the truck that the dog had been in the back of. Karen’s house was in the same town I live in, so I hightailed it over there and gave the truck the once over. The pendant was not located. So, I left Karen and Charlie’s house after making plans to drive to the camp site in Montana on the weekend. The week progressed, final planes were made, and I drove out to Montana on Saturday. Charlie took me to the driveway where Karen was loading up the dog. We wanted to make sure it was not there before searching the area where she had discovered the broken necklace. I was swinging my Minelab 800 in the gold setting with the puck coil on. I have had success with finding small items in with this configuration. I had also swung over the broken necklace and was able to pick it up. With a low and slow swing, I made overlapping passes down the driveway. As I searched in between the tire rut and the edge of the road I got a repeatable signal in the 1-5 range. I moved the rocks around with my foot and the signal moved with the rocks. Pushing back the smooth river rocks I could see the sharp edge of the pendant in between the gaps of the stones. Charlie and his friends were down from where I was, so I shouted to them that I had found it. The crew made their way over to me and I was able to place the pendant in Charlie’s hand. Smiles and laughter followed the conversations and stories were shared after I found Karen’s pendant. So, the story of a wedding ring transformed into a pendant that was lost, and now is found and will be passed on.

I got a text yesterday afternoon from Denise. She was in a bit of a panic because she had just lost her wedding ring of 40 years at Mondos while she was swimming in the ocean. She was able to give me the exact time of 1:20pm because in her words, she just felt it slip right off in about 6 feet of water while she was swimming. The tide at that time was around a 2.5 so I checked the tides and I had one chance to recover the ring if I could get far enough out in the water and that was at 3:45am the next day.
There were several things stacked against me. She didn’t know exactly how far out she was, there was absolutely no moonlight whatsoever and the beach at Mondo’s has been inundated with seaweed both in the water and on the sand so this was going to be a miracle. So I prayed and got to Mondo’s at 3:30 this morning. With the tide being a -1.3 I was able to get pretty far out but unfortunately not far enough as the ring was further out than I had hoped. I slowly started working my way out and when I was nearly waste deep I finally got a target that made sense. In between waves I positioned my scoop behind my Minelab manticore and dug. Instead of getting it though the waves had caused me to push the target away rather than in my scoop. I steadied myself again, waited for the wave to pass and scooped and this time I had Denise’s ring! Dave The RingFinder with another ring recovery this time in the ocean!
