*** Steve and his family, from Utah, were vacationing at a SoCal Beach when he lost his tungsten wedding ring. The loss happened when he was throwing a football. He did feel the ring come off his finger the moment it happened, which is always nice to know before going on a search. Often we get calls where the person thinks the ring was lost because they had been playing football. They only think that’s where it came off their finger.
Steve’s first question to me was, can a metal detector detect tungsten rings? I told him yes and proceeded to ask him to wait at the location. I would be there within 30 minutes to find his ring.
This time of year traffic and parking are not a problem. We met on the beach where Steve and his had still enjoying their day in the Southern California sunshine. I set up a grid search area of 40ft. x 40ft because heavy mens rings are subject to go much further than most people understand.
We were lucky to start on the best side of the grid layout which the recovery fast. It gets a little frustrating to search a large area and not find the item until you’re just about to run out of possible search area.
Steve was very appreciative and told me he had no idea that this type service existed. One of my goals is to inform the public that there are experienced metal detector professionals that can find lost sentimental items. It was my pleasure to meet Steve and to be available to help him.

Received a call last night approximately 9:45 PM in regards to a young man who lost his wedding band in some long grass at English Bay Beach. I listen to his story, he was still there with friends searching with flashlights, but he knew he needed more help.
I asked him how he found my website and he said he just googled and found it very quickly and decided to call for help.
We met around 10:30 PM and I began my search. It was on a slope hill with some short grass and long grass mixed in, it was a tough search due to it was a little slippery and just the angle of the hill made it a little hard to get in a good grid search and do it properly.
Close to one hour of searching I found this young man’s beautiful wedding band. He told me they were together for 12 years so you can imagine what this meant for him to get it back. Unfortunately I didn’t get a video for this search as the important parts were on the camera photo setting... What a rookie mistake!
I love my job!!!

This ring find began when I got a text from Jake saying he lost his yellow Gold Wedding Band at Waimanalo Beach while playing football in the sand. I had just arrived home from a doc’s appointment so I grabbed my gear and checked google maps. 32 minutes to the beach. I texted Jake I was on the way. They were on the beach just after exiting the beach access path. Jake drew a grid in the sand and it was huge. I asked if he could narrow it down a bit to the most probable area. What a relief. I started down the first leg of the grid. No targets. As I turned to start the next leg I got a booming tone on the beast. One scoop ring found! Elapsed time under a minute. Cheers rang out from Jake’s friends and family. It’s not always this easy. Aloha to Jake. Out of the dog house!

*** I was parked at Newport Beach pier eating lunch in my car, when I received a call from Hau. His wife had dropped her Platinum wedding band in the sand at Balboa Beach two miles away from where I was parked.
He told me they had been searching the sand for almost two hours with no success. I always have my detector in my car, so I could meet them in 15 minutes. I didn’t need to ask very many questions after they said it was in a small area where they were sitting.
I drove directly to a parking space less than 25 yards from where they waited for me. It was another quick recovery, probably less than 10 minutes after turning on my metal detector.
They were very happy to have the ring recovered. Hau said, he was impressed at how fast I was able to get to his location. It’s not always like that, in the summer it can take as long as an hour just to find a parking place.
Don’t waste time, call ASAP.. I’m available to answer your questions .. We can usually tell if your loss can be found with my equipment. “I WILL TRY ANYWHERE”
The Cross in the Sand Brigantine NJ
Juan had been looking forward to his weekend at Brigantine Beach for weeks. The sun was high, the ocean breeze perfect, and the wide stretch of sand made for the ultimate soccer field. With friends visiting from out of town, he kicked off his sandals and joined a fast-paced game near the dunes, laughter and shouts blending with the rhythm of the crashing waves.
But after a slide tackle into the soft sand, Juan sat up with a sinking feeling. He reached for his chest instinctively—his gold cross was gone.
The game came to a stop as everyone joined in the search, scanning the golden grains around the makeshift soccer area. Minutes stretched into an hour. Juan’s heart ached; he had worn that cross every day since he was young. It wasn’t about the gold—it was what it represented.
Defeated, with the joy of the day slipping away. That’s when someone nearby mentioned Ring Finders South Jersey—that John specialized in finding lost items on the beach using metal detectors. With nothing to lose, Juan made the call.
Within the hour, John with his metal detector in hand. Juan showed him the general area, and the search began. The beeping of the detector was like a heartbeat of hope.
Forty-five minutes later, the cross was found in the sand in Brigantine, NJ.
Client Justin reached out to me on 04-22-2025 regarding a lost family heirloom. He explained that his wife was wearing the diamond and silver earrings that she inherited from her now-deceased aunt, and one of them came off as they were walking home from a nearby neighbor’s Easter party in Hendersonville, TN. They were able to find the backing to the earring as well as the outer ring with tiny little diamonds, but could not find the much larger center diamond that was affixed to the sterling silver post. Justin said everyone from the party even came over to the grass covered curb strip and got on their hands and knees to help search, but they couldn’t find the earring. Justin and his wife said I was their last hope in finding the very special earring that had so much sentimental value. No pressure there, but I was ready for the challenge. Justin had the matching earring for me to swing my coil over and see what the target ID came up as, but honestly it was not a strong repeatable signal. Underground power lines may have caused some interference. I did forget to start my stop watch, but after about fifteen to twenty minutes I got the signal I was hoping for. The Bermuda grass on the curb strip had that earring hidden quite well, with the tip of the post pointing straight up and the diamond resting on the soil. Justin and his wife were elated to have the earring back, and said they were going to get screw on backings before the earrings can be worn again. It was a happy ending to the story of the lost diamond earring, and I’m honored to have a roll in the story.

I was contacted by a client, we’ll call him “Mr. Charles,” on 04-21-2025 at about 9:30 in the morning regarding a lost ring. I met with Mr. Charles at his beautiful Brentwood, TN home less than an hour later. He had lost his platinum wedding band in his back yard while working on a project. Although the back yard was quite expansive, he was able to narrow the search area because he remembered the areas he had been and just as importantly, where he hadn’t been. I started the stop watch function on my phone and began the search. In just under forty minutes I got the audible signal on my metal detector. The ring was completely concealed in the lush green grass, but there was no hiding from my “magic beep stick.” Mr. Charles only agreed to having his picture taken if I made him unrecognizable, hence then smiley face emoji.

We got a call on Easter Sunday afternoon from a very upset gentleman. He was at a family gathering for Easter and a water balloon fight broke out. Rewind a moment …to earlier that day the Grandma of the family had passed along to her 14yr old Granddaughter a Gold & Diamond Ring she had been wearing for over 60 years, she told her Granddaughter to keep it safe and to pass it down to her children one day. Then, a little later, the water balloon fight broke out with all the family members. Lots of laughter, everyone was soaked, everyone so happy and then the granddaughter SCREEMED “my ring is gone!”. Everyone dropped to their knees and began searching. The father jumped on the Internet looking for a solution and found “The Ring Finders” website. He gave me a call and it just so happened we lived on 11 miles away. So Ellen & I jumped into the truck and drove over. When we arrived 3 family members were still searching the yard. Ellen & I began our search over lapping each pass. We checked the field beyond the house and got permission to go over to the neighbors on both sides in case it flew over the fence. We even used our camera system to check the gutters on the home to no avail.
We decided to make one more pass over the backyard area where the granddaughter had spend most her time. And on my next to last row/pass, I got a signal that should not have been her ring but then I saw it…
Easter Celebration was saved.. smilies and hugs and tears thanks to the Ring Finders…. It was a Easter to remember.
