Jon & family from Middlesborough enjoyed a splendid day on Studland Beach. He’d had the hindsight to securely tie his wedding ring to his shorts as he was in & out of the sea and sand and probably knew the risks of it slipping off.

Getting dressed by his van preparing for the long drive home, he forget where it was tied and it was soon trodden down into the mud by his van. It was until later he relised what may have happened so called me.

Returning to the spot a few days after I didnt even have time to get my machine out! Pressed into the mud lay a perfect circle of gold. He received the ring in the post & very pleased to put the ring back on his finger. Jon made a kind donation to the Margaret Green Animal Charity.

Tungsten Wedding Ring Lost Off Highway 855, Lamont County Alberta

Brandon called me yesterday requesting my service to locate his lost wedding ring that fell off his finger while driving North on highway 855.  After asking my usual questions I agreed to meet up with Brandon the next day.

I meet Brandon and his wife Kassidy this morning.  They showed me the area that the ring fell off his finger while he was driving at 100 km/hr.  Brandon had his hand out of the van window when the ring fell off, and luckly he stopped right away and marked the area and started to search with no luck.  He and Kassidy came back again the next day and spent another couple of hours with no luck.

After talking to them both and eyeing the situation up I knew the ring could only be a few feet off the shoulder of the highway.  I began my search and within ten minutes I found Brandon’s ring laying in the grass two feet off the highway. Brandon and Kassidy were ecstatic to have the ring back. They just got married three weeks ago! Another Happy ending.

1 Minute recovery in Glen Ellen, Illinois

Received a call from Glen Ellen, lost his Platinum wedding ring while playing with his dog in the front of his house. He threw some leaves at his dog and the ring went with it. I put the small coil on my detector so I could get into the heavy ground cover where he thought it went. One of those rare but welcome times when the first time I put the coil into the ground cover I hit it, literally about 1 minute.

Lost White Gold Ring Found in the Grass in Ann Arbor Michigan

Spooky Gold….

…’Twas the night of all hallows eve when Dan gathered his brood dressed to ward off ghosts and headed to a vacant piece of land where they and some neighbors were hoping for a spooktacular evening next to a bonfire and meeting new people trick or treating. Sipping on some beverages and handing out candy the evening was going well until Dan noticed his ring missing. Now in the darkness he searched frantically and even with having quite a few children help it was not found. He wondered where it could have gone to, having been standing in the same spot all evening thinking…. did it fall off into someone’s candy bag? Did a real ghost or goblin take it? Selling his soul to the devil to find out wasn’t an option. He even bought a magic wand (toy type metal detector) hoping for some luck but to no avail. I arrived the next day and under dark ominous skies began grid searching the small area with my MXT metal detector. A few signals came up as 6.66 inches deep on the detector’s depth meter, but I knew these were false reads trying to trick me into believing it was the ring. Those signals were no match for the MXT metal detector, because a few sweeps later I got a great signal. Reaching down thru the trampled grass revealed Dan’s ring! He was thrilled that it was recovered and loved my metal detector. He asked how did I find his ring so fast? I said nothing spooks louder than having the right tool for the job, but the devil in me really made me do it!

Found Ring in the Leaves, Burlington VT

I got a call this morning from a lady who had lost her wedding ring. Unfortunately, I was working and couldn’t do a search until afterwards. I told her I would call as soon as I got out, to see if they had found it.

She and her husband had been at a doctor appointment and when they came outside, she lost it in the parking lot. The wind was howling and leaves and branches were being blown all around. They searched for awhile and then rented a metal detector. Crowded parking lots are difficult to search because the metal in the cars raise hell with detectors, even 3’ away!

So, she called me at the end of the afternoon to say they had given up and wanted me to help.
I went straight there after work and luckily most of the cars were gone by then. I detected for awhile and saw the last 2 office workers pull out. I went straight over to where they had been parked, detected a pile of leaves that was under the car, got a loud signal and there it was!! Her ring is a round band, so it had rolled a long way, probably aided by the wind!

I brought it to her, her town was on my way home, and was greeted with the nicest smiles, some flowers for Donna and some home grown fruit. What a good day!

Lost Gold Pendant in Public Park-Found!

I got a text from Jae late Thursday evening and she said she had lost her gold pendant in a local public park.  She and her friend had looked all evening until around midnight that night.  The pendant was made from the engagement ring her grandfather had given her grandmother in 1942. So it was very sentimental to her and all she had left of her grandparents.  The grass in that area was pretty deep, so finding it by sight was nearly impossible.  I got there by around noon the next day on Friday.  She had the area marked where she noticed the broken necklace.  I had marked out a block for my search that was about 75 feet by 50 feet.  That search area bordered a sidewalk on one side.  Being a public park I assumed the ground there would be very contaminated with metallic trash and other items, and it did not dissapoint.  Fortunately, with the Manticore metal detector I was able to differentiate between what was on the surface and what was deeper.  That still lengthens the search time because every target has to be inspected before moving on.  I completed the grid search in the block I had marked out and found nothing except pull tabs and a nickle.  So I moved down a little and marked out another block, this one a little smaller.  About halfway through that search area I was about 12 feet from the sidewalk and I got a 41 on the Manticore that was on the surface.  The grass there was about 3 inches deep so I pulled out my pinpointer to locate whatever it was.  The pendant was there, completely covered with grass and was not visible to the eye.  My total search time was about 2 hours.

Lost Platinum wedding band found in Wheaton, Illinois

Woman called today from Wheaton Illinois, her husband lost his Platinum wedding band in the early Spring.
Their anniversary was coming up and she wanted to surprise him by getting it recovered.
Rented a detector with no success.
Based on when it was lost I was planning for a long day, however I was able to Find it in about an hour and it already had sunk a couple inches in the ground.

Sprinkler Solenoid Valve Found Carolina Shores NC

I got a call last Wednesday from a repeat customer asking if I could help him find a sprinkler solenoid valve in his yard. We agreed that I’d meet him today, Thursday, Oct 29th. When I arrived, Jim was waiting for me in the yard. He showed me the suspected area where the solenoid was buried. He told me that he had had some landscaping done and the protective boxes had been covered up with dirt and rocks. When I turned on my Equinox 800, I was getting all kinds of EMI (electromagnetic interference), so I turned down the sensitivity. Luckily, Jim had another solenoid that he had already found that I used to test. I knew I was looking for negative numbers and probably in the -4 to -5 range on the VDI. The valves are mainly plastic with very little metal (basically screws, a spring, and some copper wire) in them. When I ran the coil over the exposed solenoid, I wasn’t getting much of a signal. I cranked the sensitivity back up to 25 (max) and was able to get enough of a signal I could distinguish the signal from the interference. After checking a different signal that turned out to be nothing, I swung over an area more into the bushes. I got the low grunt sound and the numbers I was looking for. Jim started digging and after a few inches of dirt and rocks, he spotted the cover protecting the solenoid.  We found exactly what he was looking for. Jim for holding on to my number and giving me a call. So glad I could help.

It’s fall, and rings get lost in the leaves, not just on the beach!
Howard and his wife Gayle were doing some yard work the other day. Later that afternoon, Howard realized his wedding band had gone missing. He did a Google search and found Ringfinderssouthjersey.com. After reading some of the reviews, he decided to give them a call. I spoke with him, and we met up later that afternoon. I began the search with my metal detector and, after just a few minutes of searching, the ring was found! Howard and Gayle were overjoyed. What a great ending to the day!
