Jasmine and her fiancé, Graham, were guests at a family wedding at the New York Yacht Club on Saturday.  While socializing with other guests on the lawn, Jasmine waved her hand and her diamond engagement ring flew off.  Jasmine, Graham, and other guests searched the lawn with flashlights but couldn’t locate the ring.  On Sunday morning, Graham found The Ring Finders website and called me for help.  I drove to the yacht club and searched the lawn area for a few hours before Jasmine and Graham had to leave.  They were discouraged, but I told them I wouldn’t give up the search.  Over an hour later, I located the ring deep in the grass and called them with the good news.  We made arrangements to meet them in Massachusetts, and Jasmine was thrilled to have the ring back on her finger!

Lost Wedding Band in Lake Mendota – Madison, WI

  • from Madison (Wisconsin, United States)

ringLakeMendota2016Smile

Robert lost his ring the day after they got married!  While on their honeymoon, Liz, the brides mother, jumped to action.  She searched online for ways to find a lost wedding ring, and discovered  our business website, www.LostandFoundRing.com.  She was surprised that there was a Ring Finding Service in town – it was almost too good to be true!  She called to make arrangements for us to come out and search for the ring.  It was lost in chest deep water off of a pier on Lake Mendota, Madison, WI.  She wanted to keep it a secret in the event we didn’t find it – the newlywed couple was devastated enough having lost the wedding band the day after their wedding, it would be worse if we searched with a metal detector and couldn’t find it.

ringLakeMendota2016RingWe arrived on Saturday afternoon with our metal detector and our new Stealth Metal Detecting Sand Scoop, which has been a welcome addition to our tool set.  The construction of the scoop is like none other I’ve used.  It also has reduced our retrieval time, as the target object is typically in the scoop on the first attempt.  Using our old scoop, it might take 2 to 4 attempts to retrieve the target item.  After setting up a physical grid in the water using PVC pipes, we began searching for the lost wedding band in Lake Mendota, a signature lake in Madison, WI.

After only 15 mins, I had Robert’s ring in the bottom of the Stealth.  Liz quickly called Robert and Heidi, the newlyweds to come over to their lake house.  The YouTube video below captures the moment we returned the ring to them – priceless.   The story was so good, the local NBC news station did a story on how the ring was lost and found.  The link to this story is also below.

Platinum Wedding Band Lost at Venice Beach, CA…Found and Joyfully Returned to Florida.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

FullSizeRenderFullSizeRender2

Back on July 15th Joanna sent me a text asking for my help. She and her family had been down at Venice Beach 5 days prior, where her husband had removed his ring to apply sunscreen and laid it in the grass where they were sitting. When they got back to the hotel where they were staying he realized the ring was gone. They called some of the places back on the beach to see if someone could go and find it for them, with no luck. I told Joanna, that in such a public place, with so much time having gone by, that the chances of finding the ring had diminished considerably. I asked her to call me so I could ask her about the loss, when she told me that she and the family had already gone back to their home in Florida. I asked if she could help me narrow down the search area, and she sent me pictures of the place, and where they were sitting when her husband removed the ring; I knew right where the area was, and told her I would go and search the next day.

When I arrived at the spot it turned out to be rather small with good grass growth, so I was a bit hopeful. I began my search, and found numerous items, but all too deep to have been the ring, so I just kept searching. I then received a good shallow signal, and used my pinpointer to verify the signal, and found the ring. Needless to say I was very excited, it was a big solid platinum ring, and I could see the engraving that Joanna had told me about. I took the attached picture, and sent it to Joanna, saying “You’ll never believe what was still there after 6 days.” She wrote “Oh my God”, and “I’m shaking”, and I answered that I know, I almost did a dance right there in front of everyone.

She had worked and saved her money to buy that ring for her future husband, so the meaning behind it was deep. I sent it off to her, and when she received it she sent me the attached picture of her and the ring. What she thought was lost forever, was now safely back in their family. I am so happy to have helped them out, and honored that she trusted me, someone she had never met to do this search for her. I was definitely blessed to receive a picture like this with a great and happy smile. Joanna posted the story on Facebook, and it went viral. Attached are some links to news features that have aired and articles that have been published regarding this recovery.
