I received a call from Marqus asking if I could help find his mother’s jewelry. Her home of 30 years had burned in the Altadena fire a couple of weeks ago, and although they had gone back looking 3 times, they were unable to find much of anything. He told me that she had a lot of jewelry, and really needed to find it. I let them know I was available to help them, so we arranged a time for us to meet at the site for the search.

We met at a local fast food restaurant, and then I followed Marqus and his mother to the site. Driving through the destruction was just surreal. It looked like a movie set, and made my heart drop to know that so many people lost so much of what they worked their lives for. So many memories, all gone so fast.

When we got to the house there wasn’t much. Marqus and his mother showed me where I should look for her jewelry, and so I began a meticulous search of each area they showed me. In the first area, where she said her best jewelry was, I found among other small items, a very large clump of melted gold that had formed around one of the bed legs. In another area where the silver was stored, I was able to find a lot of it (all melted), so much that it filled a basket. In the third area, I had to break apart a wall that had fallen in to access the last area, and there I found a whole bunch of somewhat intact jewelry, I think the wall may have protected it from completely melting down. I was able to fill a plastic container with all of that jewelry which included at least 7 watches, bracelets, rings, and necklaces. After a total of about 3 hours, I was able to help provide closure for Marqus’ mom. It was a very humbling day for me.

Ring Lost While Sledding: Recovered by Rob Ellis, Fairfax, VA.

  • from Fairfax (Virginia, United States)

It was the first time Eugenio had seen snow. His wife and another couple decided to have some fun sledding on the Fairfax George Mason Campus. At some point, Eugenio noticed his platinum and gold wedding band was missing. He contacted me and the next day we set up a search. Eugenio got permission from the GMU police, and we met at the campus station. The short drive to the hill and walk to the sledding area seemed much longer because it was only 30 degrees Fahrenheit! I wanted to search for the ring before more sledders arrived and the ring was pushed deeper into the muck.

The hill had three sides the couples used for sledding. Metal detecting up and down the slopes was challenging, and the cold wind was brutal. I could sense Eugenio’s despair that we might not find his ring. Finally, at the base of the last search area, I heard a beautiful sounding target with my Equinox 900. I scrapped down a couple of inches to confirm and then called Eugenio over to pick up his beautiful ring.

Found Here!

IPhone lost in Snow in Philadelphia, PA….Found and Returned!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

After the largest snow storm of the year dumped 6 inches of snow in Philadelphia this week…Adeep ventured out to have some fun in the deep snow drifts around his University City apartment. Unfortunately his Iphone slipped out of his pocket while playing around. His “find my iphone” app got him close to the location of the lost phone but it was clearly under the snow somewhere! He found me listed in the Ring Finders directory and several hours later I was there with my metal detector! He pointed out where he was fooling around in the snow….and where the “find my iphone” app was suggesting its location. Less than 10 minutes into search I got the signal I was looking for with my machine…moved aside about 8 inches of snow…and there was his iphone!!! Adeep was surprised and very happy that I was able to locate his lost phone so fast!

Lost Security Keys Rosslyn Neighbourhood, Edmonton Alberta

  • from Edmonton (Alberta, Canada)
Contact:

Received a Call yesterday afternoon from Keynan in regards to his girlfriend she lost her security keys in a snow covered parking lot, after asking Keynan my usual questions I agreed to meet up with his girlfriend at the parking lot.

I meet Kelsey at the parking lot she explained to me that she was walking out of the building toward her vehicle and when she got to her vehicle she reslized that her security keys had fallen off her lanyard somewhere in the parking lot, she and her friends spent a couple of hrs looking for them with no luck.

While I was talking to Keysey next to her vehicle from the corner of my eye I spotted just the tip of the a key protruding from the snow! Kelsey was relieved to have the keys back in her possession.

That was my quickest search ever I did not have to take my detector out of my vehical.

Lost Gold Ring In Snow, Brandon, Manitoba

  • from Moose Jaw (Saskatchewan, Canada)

Karl called and said he lost his gold wedding ring in the snow when he was brushing the show off his hands on the boulevard in front of his house. He had searched the area with no luck and his wife found my name on the Ring Finders.

I made the trek 4 hours to Brandon, Manitoba, on my day off it was -24 degrees Celsius. Searching the boulevard, it was covered in 11 inches of frozen snow. After two false readings near what should be gold on the metal detector the ring was found in the ice on the road in the curb area.

Thank you, Karl, on the opportunity to find your gold wedding ring.

Lost gold ring while planting flowers in Lake Alfred, Florida…found with a metal detector!

Mr Chester was planting some new plants in his front yard and using a post hole digger and other tools he managed to get the holes dug deep enough to hold some new soil and using his hands he began setting the first plant.  Only minutes into the planting process he felt his large gold ring slip off of his finger and he immediately picked it up, brushed it off and put it back on his finger…thinking that now he would be more careful.  Ten minutes later Mr Chester again noticed that his beautiful gold and diamond ring was not on his finger and this time he figured it had to be deep down in one of those holes he had just dug and filled.  Not wanting to totally pull up the plants and sift all the dirt, he got to thinking about other ways to locate his lost ring and that thought led him to search online for a “Ring Finder” and up popped theringfinders.com and one of my successful ring search and recovery stories.  He called me and we made plans to meet up at his place the following Saturday.  Mr Chester was 99% positive that he lost it in the dirt while planting so that is where I concentrated my efforts.  I recovered two small items of aluminum and the 3rd signal was strong and repeatable which proved to be Mr Chester’s lost gold ring!  It truly was an honor and privilege to meet Mr Chester and to be able to help him find what he thought he would never see again.

Have you lost something and need my help?  Call or text me ASAP and let’s talk!

LOST WEDDING BAND IN NEW IBERIA, LA.-FOUND

  • from Lafayette (Louisiana, United States)
Contact:

Lani’s husband lost his black tungsten wedding band in a field near their home. They searched with and without a metal detector for a week. I got the call, and once I had an understanding of the job, made the 45-minute trip to the location. I met with Lani to go over the area where the ring was lost. I laid out a search area of about 1000 square feet. The first half was dry, the second had 1″ of water with the grass being about 4 inches tall. The whole area was trash-free, so all sounds were taken seriously.  About halfway thru the second half (the wet one) I got a strong 48 reading on my Garrett. Had to move grass and poke around with the pin-pointer for the ring.  Lani was very happy and so was I. Thank you, Lani, for the generous reward.

Gold Wedding Ring Lost in Volley Ball Court at Manhattan Beach…Found and Happily Returned.

Renan contacted me right about sunset asking for help in finding his wedding ring. He had been playing volley ball when as he was striking the ball, his ring flew off of his finger. He, his wife, and friends searched for the ring, but were unable to find it. Also he was on vacation from Brazil, and was not cherishing the thought of leaving it in the USA when he returned home. I was available, and left right away.

When I arrived, it was already dark, but that is not a hindrance for a search at the beach. Renan took me over to the court, and showed me what he had done when striking the ball. I began by searching the most logical possible path the ring probably took when coming off of his hand. I searched just behind where he was standing, right where he was standing, and all the way to the other end of the court from where he was standing, and got nothing but a few pull tabs. At this time I decided to search the whole court, and 10 feet outside of it, searching both sides; nothing again. Now it was time to do a cross grid in order to insure I didn’t miss the ring because it was in a weird position. I began my cross grid on the side he was on originally, and when I got to the center of the court, which was behind and to his right (the ring was on the left hand) by 15 feet, I got a scratchy signal, dug, and scooped up a very thin gold ring. Renan’s friend came right over and identified the ring, and everyone rejoiced. He now can go home with his token of love for his wife of two years.

LOST 14k WHITE GOLD RING IN KANAPOLIS, NC…..FOUND!!

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)

Got a text from a gentleman on Friday last week, saying he had lost his wedding ring in the yard. Snow was coming in and we had to push it out until I was off work.

Drove out this morning and got the backstory. He had gone to clean out the chicken coop. He had had gloves on and as he was walking back to the building he took them off. At that point is when the ring fell off. They searched and searched and couldn’t find it.

The area that we both felt it had to have been lost in was full of 14k gold ring signals, ground was frozen and it had some ice/snow still in this area.

After about 2 hours, I finally got a good pull tab signal and look down and I could see the ring in the ice!!!

LOST 14K ENGAGMENT RING – FOUND STEPHENS CITY, VIRGINIA

  • from Leesburg (Virginia, United States)

Call Ray for lost items 571.258.7217

www.mygoldfinder.com

I received a call a family member who referred a friend to me for a lost 14K engagement ring while playing with their children on the front lawn in a  leaf pile. The husband and wife had been searching since the day before, on their hands and knees for hours trying to locate the ring, with no success. I arrived the next morning, Nathan and his children were already outside to great me as I pulled into the driveway.

I immediately saw the large are of leaves on the right side of the house, and after Nathan gave me the run down I got started.  I started a quick grid around the leaf pile and by the time Nathan had reached the door to go inside I yelled ” I found it!!”. Nathan was stunned and so excited! Fast and furious recovery!!

God Bless and Keep on Hunting!
