White Gold Wedding Band Lost in the Ocean, Found and Returned Myrtle Beach SC

On 7/16/2025 a little after 9 a.m. I received a call and voice mail from a 724-area code. I was on my way to Charleston, SC for a VA appointment and wasn’t able to immediately respond. The voice mail said, “Hi Jim, my name is Misty. We found you on ring finder and I lost my ring yesterday. I believe I lost it when I got knocked down by a wave at the beach and I’m hoping that you can help us out and help me find that. My number is 724-etc.” After listening to the voice mail, I took a guess that they were in Myrtle Beach and quickly looked up the tides for the day. I called Misty and got additional details, like the time she lost it and confirmed they were in Myrtle Beach. She confirmed Myrtle Beach and said she thought it was around 2 p.m., her husband said between 12 and 3 p.m. I told her I could be there around 4 p.m. and see what I could do. Once I got to my appointment, I double checked the tides and realized I had the wrong day. That’s what happens when you’re driving and trying to look at your phone. My best guess was she had actually lost it about 2 hours before low tide. I text her and told her that low tide was at 6:31 and that I’d be there at 5. I also ask her to send me the resort address. She agreed to 5 and sent me the address. On the way back from Charleston, I was watching the thunderstorms moving through the area due to the heat we’ve been getting. I text Missy and told her I was keeping an eye on the storms. The rain doesn’t bother me cause I’m probably going to get wet going in the ocean. Lightning’s a whole other story; I’m basically carrying two lightning rods in my hands, my metal detector and my sand scoop. Both have carbon fiber shafts which are able to conduct electricity.

By the time I got to the beach, the storms had passed, the sun was shining, and it was hot again. I met Misty and her longtime friend Barbara in the parking lot. We walked out to their spot on the beach, and I met her husband, Justin. They were set up within a few feet of where they were the day before. I got a north and south boundary line, probably 30-40 yards apart and searched around their area from the day before. No luck there, I started a perpendicular east/west grid line from about the middle of the beach out into the ocean. I was finding the typical trash, bottle caps and pull tabs but no ring. I searched for about an hour and half and only had a few yards left to search. This being a white gold wedding band I was expecting between a 9 and 12 on the detector’s VDI (visual display indicator). Suddenly, I hit a solid 10-11 and I knew I had her ring. I dug out a couple of scoops of sand and saw her beautiful ring lying in the sand I had spread out with my foot. I reached down and picked it up and looked up at them as they were looking at me. Now for the shock reveal. I put the ring in my pocket with the bottle caps and pull tabs, oh and an earring I had found. I walked back up the beach where they were sitting, looking like I was exhausted. I pulled out the items in my pocket and maneuvered her ring under a couple of bottle caps in the palm of my hand. I told them I wasn’t haven’t much luck and offered to show her what I had found. I bent down to show her, and she suddenly saw her ring and from there things got very emotional, happy, total shock and disbelief. I loved it!!! Her husband told me he saw me move the ring but didn’t say anything. Misty came up out of her chair and gave me a big hug. It doesn’t get any better than that, a very happy couple.

Looking for lost necklace on Miami Beach

In the photos above a beautiful Chrome Hearts necklace and cross were lost the night before down by the waters edge in Miami Beach.  She placed her belongings under a blanket so nobody would steal it, but as in most cases at the end of the day she had forgotten that it was under there and walked away.  After realizing she left it behind she came back and searched all night but couldn’t find it.  She came back the next morning but again couldn’t find it.  Luckily I was only a few blocks away from her when she called and I was able to quickly get over there.  The necklace and cross were a gift from a dear friend who recently passed away and was obviously very sentimental to her.  She was crying and I felt horrible.
She pointed out to me the area where she was the night before. I began to search but after 15 min of going over the same are she had given up and thought someone must have seen it and picked it up (I did too but I knew better than to give up).  I expanded my search area and it had somehow made its way down closer to the waters edge.  She was ecstatic to be reunited with her necklace very thankful that I didn’t give up.  This was a very special gift and I was glad I could recover it for her.

Pioneertown Pit Thrown with Grandpa’s Platinum Band…FOUND!!

I received a text message from Skylar this morning asking for my help. Her message said she had been eating a nectarine while sitting on the front porch of her house. When she went to throw the nectarine pit out into the bushes, she said she felt her grandfather’s platinum band she was wearing, go flying off with the pit.
Her property was out in the desert by Pioneertown and I had a 4 mile washboard dirt road off the pavement to take to get there. When I arrived she was visibly upset. Skylar told me she and her boyfriend borrowed a metal detector and searched and searched with no luck. She then found me on the Ringfinders website.

I have a man’s (inexpensive) band that I have attached to a lime green string just for these “throwing” occasions (I also have a woman’s ring). I handed her the ring and told her to throw it like she had the pit. This would give me a better idea of where it may have landed, since there were a lot of bushes and weeds around that area. She gave it a throw and I had a generalized area to work from, taking into account it could have rolled further. I began my search with my Garrett AT Pro around a tree that was in line of where she threw it. There were so many junk and deep signals I decided to just use my pinpointer since I knew it would be pretty much on top of the ground. I got down on my hands and knees and began slowly going over the weeds and dirt, finding wire and even a razor blade. In less than  10 minutes I got a signal and saw the band laying in the weeds.
I called Skylar over and asked “Does it look like that?” pointing to it. She grabbed the ring and became extremely excited that I had found it. Her look of happiness was worth the washboard road!

In the pictures above, I was called out to search for a platinum and gold Cartier watch that was lost down by the waters edge.  It was placed in a shirt and then the shirt was moved and the watch fell out and buried itself in the sand.  I was skeptical that it was still there, I thought someone saw it and walked off with it.  But that wasn’t the case.  Right when I was about to start searching it started to rain and she thought would t be able to detect.  Luckily she put me in the right spot and my first signal, there it was.  We had enough time to take a few pictures before the sky opened up.

Lost gold ring- Kent NY White Pond

Marlon and his girlfriend Aloe were swimming in Whjte Pond and suddenly Aloe realized she had lost her precious Quinceañera ring given to her on her 15th birthday.Marlon had heard of the Ringfinders and, so he called me and arranged for me to search for the ring.

Lost Tungsten Wedding Ring Found – Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin

Unbeknown to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin resident, Doug Krupp, his tungsten wedding ring was lost while enjoying a game of water football with friends at Elkhart Lake Fireman’s Park. Doug later discovered the loss and subsequently contacted me through The Ring Finder’s international directory of metal detecting specialists. I made the 72-mile journey from my home in Waukesha and arrived at the park late in the afternoon of what was a very hot, humid day. The beach was crowded with people cooling off in the pristine lake water.

Doug sent me a satellite image of the swimming area, marking the general area where he had been. A grid search was challenging. This was because of the many people enjoying the cool water in the hot afternoon. Children, as usual, were inquisitive about what I was doing. They gathered close around me and dove with their goggles to inspect my search coil with their little fingers, thus hampering my ability to sweep the lake bottom accurately. Finally, curiosity satisfied; the little ones eventually redirected their interests elsewhere and I was able to continue a straight course. Shoreline structures served as guides.

An assortment of signals announced the presence of the usual coins and pull tabs. Finally, about an hour and half into the search, the unmistakable conductivity values for tungsten invited further investigation. A few moments later, Doug’s wedding ring lay nestled amongst the sand and clay in my scoop.

I took a couple photos and texted them to Doug saying, “I’m thinking this is your ring.” He replied with an emphatic, “Yes!!!!!!!”

We later met up at a service station near Fond du Lac. Doug and his wife Amy were so thrilled to take possession of what they thought was possibly lost forever. The smiles on their faces tell the rest of the story.

Skylar and her husband Tyler were out in the front of their house laying down pavers as they carefully built a pavilion for future outdoor fun. Skylar took off her very special ring and placed it in her pocket for safekeeping. This was no ordinary ring! It happened to be a breast milk ring that was given to her by her husband on Christmas Day 2024.

If you don’t know what a breastmilk ring is, don’t feel bad about it, because many people have no idea that this type of ring even exists! A breast milk ring is one that incorporates a mother’s breast milk into the design. The milk is often preserved and transformed into a stone or gem, which is then set into the ring. It serves as a sentimental keepsake, often worn by the mother to celebrate her breastfeeding journey and the bond with her child.

After working on the couple’s project for a couple of hours, Skylar was wrapping things up over by their barn and when she reached into her pocket to retrieve her beloved breast milk ring, it was nowhere to be found! The ring somehow came out of Skylar’s pocket. The young lady was simply heartbroken! The breast milk that was in the stone was the last of its kind. The mother could not bear to think that she would not go through life without her special ring. She and her husband searched for hours out near the pavilion and around the grassy areas, but sadly there was no sign of her beautiful memento.

I drove about two and a half hours to my client’s West Virginia property. It was beautiful out there in God’s country! My search areas included all of the grassy places near and around the newly constructed pavilion. I scanned the section where Skylar put the ring in her pocket for safekeeping. I also checked out in the field where she and her husband were dumping clumps of grass and weeds. All of those areas looked clear of the piece of jewelry that I was looking for.

When I had no luck finding the lost ring in all of the places that I mentioned above, I began to spread my search farther away from the pavilion with the hope that I would find the ring somewhere off a bit from where the pavilion was being built. Sometimes people forget that they walked and or worked the ground in certain spots and then the missing item turns up in such locations. Well, I am happy to share that that’s exactly what took place in this particular story!

My metal detector gave me a very encouraging signal just about 15 feet away from the places that Skylar said she was working! I looked down and pinpointed the area with a handheld detector… and there it was! Skylar’s irreplaceable white gold and diamond breast milk ring was shining so forever bright under the grass and dirt!

When I surprised my client with the ring, there was nothing Skylar could do but begin to cry! She smiled with a countenance gleaming with pure happiness and a tremendous amount of relief! The two of us thanked the Lord for answering our prayer which we offered up to the Lord before starting the search! It was a beautiful moment in time and I will never forget finding my very first breast milk ring ever! Yes indeed, it was a very special day for all of us out there in the deep mountains of West Virginia!

Diamond Anniversary Ring Found in South Johnson County

Emily lost her 5 year wedding anniversary ring at a local winery on Friday night.  She looked over and over for it to no avail.  She sought assistance from the staff at the winery and even bought her own metal detector but none of her efforts produced the ring.  During a discussion of the events at work, one of her coworkers suggested The Ringfinders.

Iphone with medical data found and returned!

I found an Iphone in the water and thought it was trash but when I got to car and plugged it in it started charging! There was a message on the phone that said ” I am a single mom with an autistic child everything for my son’s therapy is on this phone please return”! We had it returned in 15 minutes!
