Here is Sunshines story! “Hello my name is Sunshine. On Saturday September 25th I married the love of my life and best friend, Victor! We came to Flagler Beach, Florida to enjoy the weekend at Island Cottage Inn. We were having the time of our lives, walking the beach, enjoying our room and everything beautiful Flagler Beach has to offer. On Sunday evening about 5:30pm I talked my husband into taking a dip in the ocean. The current was strong and the waves were tall and as we walked out into the ocean we were laughing and diving under the waves as they rolled in. A stronger wave came in and caught me off guard and I was pulled under. My husband went to reach for me and after we were both ok he realized he was no longer wearing his wedding ring. We searched the beach frantically. I was crying, praying to the Lord that He would just wash it up on the shore. When my husband sat down in the sand holding his head I knew I had to hug him and assure him it was ok and let him know a ring could be replaced and our love is strong and not to let the devil steal our joy. We walked back to our room no longer wanting to go out to eat because we were both sick to our stomachs. I began searching our extended warranty for Kays jewelry and “Lost or Stolen Rings” were not a part of our plan. So I searched the “Possibility of finding a ring in the ocean” when I came across “theringfinders.com” and gave Mike a call. He was very professional and answered in just a few rings and said he would come out to our Inn and help us. That night after speaking to Mike my husband and I searched the piles of seaweed along the shore continuing to pray over the ring and the ocean and the man who was gonna drive over a hundred miles to help us. Mike met us at 6:45am the next morning and put on his gear and started into the ocean. As I watched the sun come up I took some amazing photos and videos and in the sunrise appeared a cross shining through the sun as though God was lighting the path for him to search the ocean. We began getting anxious because large waves were coming in making it difficult to even stand and we walked back to our room. About an hour had passed and at 8:08am Mike messaged us and told us to come down to the beach. He had me going at first thinking he had to cover more ground when all of a sudden he revealed he had found the ring! Tears of joy and happiness streamed down my face and I hugged him and thanked him for what he did. Without God and this man our wedding ring would still be in the ocean …a horrible thing to remember about our honeymoon! God heard the cries of our hearts and we are forever grateful for Mike and all the Lords blessings. I would highly recommend him to anyone! Thank you so much Mike!”

Emerald Isle Fishing Trip Involves Lost Ring Almost Getting Away

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

David, Kayla and her mother were spending an evening on the beach fishing the shoreline.  Kayla had taken off her engagement ring and placed it in a small bowl.  Just after David caught a fish, Kayla headed down to the water to get a closer look.  Unfortunately, the bowl, holding Kayla’s ring spilled onto the beach just as darkness was setting in.  I happened to be in the area about an hour later and David approached me to ask for my help finding this wonderful ring.  After a few passes and as they were packing up to leave, I was able to pull her ring from the beach.  I was very happy to return this for them as Kayla’s mother told me when I began searching that David had just returned from military service in Afghanistan.    I thank him and all that protect us for their service to our country!

Lost gold wedding band Oak Meadows Park, Vancouver…Found!

It’s Sunday around 11am, I’m making brunch when I received a text message for help. I read the message and it said ”Hi my name is Travis I just lost my ring at Oak Meadows field in Vancouver”. I called immediately, I asked my questions in regards to where Travis thought the ring was lost and quickly ate my brunch and hit the road.

I got to the soccer field minutes before the ultimate Frisbee game was over and met Travis, we talked for a few minutes and another player walked over and introduced himself to me, it was a previous client from maybe four years back who I help find his gold wedding band. He was so kind to make mention of my directory in order for his friend Travis to get a hold of me.

After talking to Travis the search that I thought was not going to take long could  turned out to be a long day due to the fact it could’ve fallen out of his pocket pretty much anywhere. You see Travis took his ring off to keep it safe and put it in his jacket pocket, when he got to the sidelines of the field, from walking from the car he realized his ring was missing and realize there was a ring size hole in his pocket. I walked the walk with Travis he showed me where he came on to the field, where he went across the field, and where on the sideline he went.

Right away I knew this could be a long search close to 100 yards in distance and could be possibly 10 to 20 yards across, I began the process of my grid search and close to an hour into the search on this rainy day people were starting to show up to the field to play ultimate frisbee. Two other teams showed up and I knew my time was limited, I kept grid searching and found the ring an hour into the search. I was so relieved to find his ring because I would’ve stayed for two hours until that game was done in order to start searching again and also it was Travis’s 19th wedding anniversary this Wednesday so you can imagine how badly he wanted to have this ring back.

Lost ring – Gulf Shores, Alabama

  • from Mobile (Alabama, United States)

I saw a Facebook post yesterday about a lost University of Alabama class ring. Being an avid Alabama fan as well as a relative of former championship quarterback AJ McCarron, I knew I had to go look for it !

Dylan thought he had put the ring on top of one of the beach chairs boxes and a friend had knocked it off. A friend of mine and I spent about an hour carefully searching that area with no luck.

We set out for the water since the tide was going out and we had planned on detecting there this afternoon. Much to my surprise a couple of hours later, there was Dylan’s Alabama ring !! A quick phone call to Dylan who had just landed at DFW airport on his way home confirmed it was his ring. I will be mailing it out tomorrow morning. Roll Tide !

Lost – Men’s gold wedding band – DeLand, Florida – Found after 4 years!!

  • from New Smyrna Beach (Florida, United States)

I was visiting my Brother-in-law, George, and his wife Lori in DeLand, Florida.  When we were talking the first evening, George mentioned that he had lost his gold wedding ring.  I asked him how long he had been missing it and if he had an idea or where it was.

George led me out to the front yard and showed me an area in the yard where he thought he had lost it.   The ring, (which had also been his late father’s wedding ring), had been lost four years ago.  He was mowing at the time and said it could have hit the deck or even the mower blade which could have thrown it significantly.  They spent hours on several days looking for it.

I fired up the Equinox 800 and immediately got several suspected targets.  None panned out and it was getting late, so I said I’d try again in the morning.  The yard was full of metal, and it was a target-rich environment.   Target after target was ruled out until I decided to go back where I started.  Almost immediately I got a hit.  As I dug the target, I saw the gold of the ring shining.  Found!

Long-Lost Septic Tank Found! – Waukesha, WI

  • from Menomonee Falls (Wisconsin, United States)

Forty-four years ago, Waukesha, Wisconsin residents, Don and Lynne Holle built a house out in the country. At the time it was far from municipal water and sewer services. The solution was to install a traditional septic tank which has worked just fine. But now, all these years later, the tank needed servicing and the company would not come until the tank’s access hatch was unearthed. The problem was, neither Don or Lynn could recall exactly where the tank was located.

Don dug around in various places, hoping to land on the concrete surface, but to no avail. He recalled how the hatch lid bore a metal handle. Maybe he could locate the handle if he rented a metal detector. It was then he stumbled across the ring finder’s website and my blogsite. I received a phone call from Don with his unusual request. It was not so unusual really. After all, we are metal-detecting specialists. Whether the metal is ferrous (iron) or non-ferrous (precious metals such as gold, silver, etc.), my metal-detection equipment is suited for the job. Indeed, just the night before I had helped a man locate his iron survey markers for his property. And so, I agreed to meet Don at his home and try to find his long-lost septic tank.

Shoulder-high trees had begun to sprout in the area where the tank was located. This meant using a small coil, one that could be maneuvered around the new growth. The ground was full of ferrous targets, etc., wire and old rusty fencing nails. Eventually, I checked out a little indentation in the ground not far from the entrance lane and when I did, a significant ferrous signal showed on my controller screen and howled its presence in my headset. A little bit of digging soon revealed what Don was hoping to find, the metal handle on the lid of his long-lost septic tank!

No, it wasn’t a gold wedding ring. However, I must say, the smile on Don’s face matched many a smile from clients whose rings I’ve found! Mystery solved! And now the trusty old septic tank can be serviced for many more years to come.

If you need a metal detector and are considering renting a machine, try giving a member of the ring finders a call. He or she has the equipment and the experience to find what you are looking for. Let them put a smile on your face!

Family Heirloom Gold Ring Lost, Found and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

I received a text message from my son-in-law, Donnie Constransitch, saying that he was busy at the aqua park and to call Chandler for a lost ring in the soft sand. I called Chandler and she said she lost her ring last night in the dry sand and she knew the area where it was. I told her I’d be there in 10 minutes.

When I arrived, I called Chandler from the parking lot saying I was walking out on the beach. We met on the beach and she pointed out the area. She described the ring as a yellow gold ring with 5 diamonds. I turned my Equinox 800 on, took four steps and hit a solid 14/15 on the VDI (visual display indicator). That VDI was definitely in the range of a gold ring. I took a scoop of sand, gently shook the sand out and saw the gold ring.  I held the scoop out so Chandler could retrieve her ring. I could see the relief in her face and then she told me the story. The ring originally belonged to Chandler’s Great Uncle; it was passed to Chandler’s aunt and then passed to Chandler. I completely understood the sentimental value associated with this heirloom and so excited it was back where it belonged.

Chandler – Thank you for trusting me and The Ring Finders to help find your lost treasure.
