Engagement ring found at Sand Banks Provincial Park

Received an email yesterday from Marlon about how his fiancé had lost her engagement ring at Sand Banks Provincial Park on Saturday. They were down for the day at the beach from Markham with a bunch of friends. At noon, Camille realized that her ring was gone. With over a dozen friends, looking through the fine sand for a few hours, the ring was still missing but had to drive back home that day.

On Sunday morning, After looking at a couple pictures from google earth from Marlon and description of where about the were located at the beach, I headed to Sand banks in hope of finding it for them. Amidst the high winds, couple downpours and four hours of searching/gridding the beach, I was able to find it. I don’t think I’ve ever pulled so many beer caps and pull tabs from pop cans which when using a metal detector sounds just like a gold ring. Met with them in port hope this morning to return the ring. The look on Camille’s face, when she saw her ring again, was priceless. Another happy couple. 😊

I received a call from a young man who told me that his sister lost a gold emerald and ruby pendant, possibly in their backyard. I set up a time to go meet and look for it when I received a call from a young lady who lost a ring in a public area, which is a high priority search. I recontacted with the young man and asked if he was OK that I come later on in the evening, he was fine with that.

When I arrived at his home he went on to tell me that the pendant was actually his wife’s pendant that she lent it to her sister-in-law to wear on her wedding day. While they were celebrating in the backyard the pendant broke loose of the chain but with all the confetti on the ground, it made it almost impossible for them to find it. They went out at night with flashlights hoping they could see the glitter of the emeralds & rubies.

The young man show me where his sister spent most of the time in the backyard and I knew it would just be a matter of minutes before I would find this beautiful pendant if it indeed was lost there. Ten minutes later I found it, because he did not want to be on my video I had to take a picture of me holding it with my smile. This is just to prove that I found what I was looking for so we can record it for a Book of Smiles.

Old Silver Beach, Falmouth, Massachusetts Diamond Wedding Band Lost, Found and Returned

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

Arriving at the resort earlier than check in time Sylvia and her party went to the sandy beach to wait for their room to be readied. The sun was warm and breeze delightful. A bit of sun tan lotion was in order. As with most beautiful rings with mounted stones one would take the ring off so to keep the cream from lodging itself under the stones. The the ring should be put back on. OOPS here is were Sylvia stood up before putting the ring back on. That was all it took for the ring to disappear into the fluffy sand.

No matter how hard the ring was looked for it had not been found. An attentive lifeguard stepped in to help save the ring by giving Sylvia information about TheRingFinders. A quick call to me and I was on my way. Parking and meeting up with Sylvia took a couple of phone calls before we met up. We were then on the way to the soft sandy area.

I began the search finding several Nip bottle caps, who said no alcohol on the beach? A couple of beer bottle caps and the growing crowd were beginning to wonder if I would ever find the ring. It all happened very fast as it took only about 5 minutes to capture the elusive wedding band in my scoop.
I walked over to Sylvia so she could take her ring from my scoop. This was my third successful wedding band return in one day.

How cheerful the crowd turned. Congratulations were offered and a jeweler chimed in with some useful information on sizing a ring and a reason not to have “bumps” put inside the ring. In one word: Comfort.

Lost Diamond Engagement Ring, Crescent Beach, BC.

Today was a busy day! I started out with an early morning beach hunt in Vancouver, for a lost gold wedding band. (Found it after 45 minutes) Then I received a call to look for a lost gold pendant in a back yard in Surrey, I was just about to head out to look for the pendent when a young lady called for help to find her lost diamond engagement ring at Crescent Beach in South Surrey. I told her I had a search I was on my way to do, but I would call and ask if I could come later as searches that are in public areas are high priority.

I arrive at Crescent Beach and met the young lady, she showed me what she was doing and where she believed the ring was lost. She was sitting on a park bench, brushing the hair off of her dog, when she felt her ring go flying into the bushes. She searched but had no luck as her ring was rose gold and blended very nicely with the golden leaves. The young lady told me that she had lost her ring 4 times, the ring always found its way back to her…The pressure is on!!

After looking at the search area I could tell I would be crawling into and among the prickle bushes with my handheld pinpointer as there was no way to swing a metal detector in the bushes…After an hour and a bit, I thought that I could use the young lady’s help. I asked if she could find a big stick so to hold the bushes back as I used my pinpointer, this was a good idea as I was able to get into a spot that hid her beautiful diamond ring, way in the back of the bushes! I love the smiles and reactions & relief when I find what I’m looking for!

Lost Silver Ring Found In The Sand in Troy Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Rainout

The pictured young man and his friends were having a volleyball game late Saturday afternoon. During the game it started raining, not a light rain but torrential downpour that fell upon the metro Detroit area into early Sunday morning. Running for cover his ring came off.
The ring was a special gift from his mom. Using a metal detector to find it yielded no results. When we talked this morning I suggested we meet asap before anything else unforeseen comes upon us. When I got to the playing field it was flooded with at least 6″ of water in some spots.
On went the boots. Searching with my MXT I was looking for a high meter signal based on the composition he said the ring was. The sand was clean no trash signals but lots of small iron signals much deeper than the ring should be. I set the disc. for nickel which quieted the detector down and kept gridding the volleyball court. After a few minutes I got a mid meter signal with a depth of 6″ from the top of a water pocket. Probing down into the water and thru the sand with the pin pointer caused it to buzz. Reaching down and pulling the item to the surface against the pin pointer revealed this gorgeous silver alloy ring with a sparkly emerald setting! I signaled for him to come over and without removing his shoes he ran to where I was. Reaching down into the sand he lifted it to the sky in a scoring manner, totally thrilled that the event was not a total washout. We chatted a bit, took a few pics and as the rain came down again we headed for our cars.

Lost Platinum Engagement Ring Found! West Bend, WI.

  • from Menomonee Falls (Wisconsin, United States)

A popular sandbar in the middle of picturesque Silver Lake provided wonderful relief from a summer heat wave for West Bend resident, Brieann Albiero and her fiancé, Nick. The couple joined a host of other boaters on Saturday, July 15th, anchoring their vessel in chest-deep water. It was a perfect way to spend the afternoon together, that is, until Brieann felt her platinum & diamond engagement ring suddenly slip off her hand into the water’s murky depths. Disbelief was followed by distress and tears as the reality of her loss hit home.

Try as they might, the ring evaded the couple’s search efforts. A few days later they arranged for a SCUBA diver to scour the lake bottom in the evening with a flashlight. But even this valiant pursuit proved unsuccessful.

I received an email inquiry from Brieann on July 20th. She located me on The Ring Finder’s website and reached out in hopes I might be able to assist. We arranged to meet on location a couple evenings later. After loading our gear into the boat, hopes were high as we made our way towards the search area. But when we arrived, the water all looked the same to Brieann and Nick. It was difficult knowing just where they had been anchored on the day of the loss and nobody had GPS coordinates or land features for reference. Inwardly I prepared myself for a long night and for the very real possibility of multiple days of searching. It’s like that sometimes.

Our first night proved unsuccessful. I consoled Brieann, “Don’t lose hope. Your ring is there, we just need to get over top of it.” But I could sense her disappointment.

Almost a week later, we tried again. This time, we worked off some memories of where other boats had been anchored in relation to their own. Nick assisted me by placing my marker buoys in an area of the sand bar consistent with their best recollection. It was a long shot, a very long shot!

Evidence of parties gone by, bottle caps and pull tabs chirped their presence in the headset of my trusty SCUBA-rated Excalibur detector. But barely an hour into the search, a pure, repeatable tone consistent with platinum invited further investigation. When I pulled up my search scoop, Brieann’s precious engagement ring lay nestled on top of the sand and shells! And Brieann’s smile screams the rest of the story!

If you or someone you know has lost a ring, encourage them to contact The Ring Finders. We find what may be thought lost forever. It would be an honor to add that person’s smile to our list of happy clients.

All the best, Brieann and Nick. May the story of your ring continue for many, many happy years together.

Kelowna Lake, Ring lost & Found & Returned

Shantel called me early morning that her brother in law had lost his 14k wedding ring in the Lake at Gyro Beach. They spent two hours the evening before searching for it, to no avail. I responded to her call right away, and started my search pattern, fortunately they knew the approximate location. My only concern was that there was another metal detector working the area, however within forty minutes I had the ring in my scoop. The owner Javid had not yet told his wife that he had lost it, so he was delighted to have it back on his finger.

Found Man’s Gold Chain near Burlington VT

8/1/20
Got a call from a guy who was looking for his gold chain on a beach near Burlington. He had set it on his towel and it disappeared into the sand. He raked the sand with his fingers and couldn’t find it. Being lost in a public place, I threw my stuff in the car and went straight there.
He showed me the area, I fired up the 24K, tested it on a piece of metal debris and took the first swing. About 2/3rds of the way through the first swing I got a signal. He reached his fingures deep into the sand and pulled out his chain! Less than 5 seconds, a new record!!!

Lost wedding ring in yard, Lakeland, Fl….Found with a metal detector!

(That is me in the photo, filling in for Dave, as he was a bit shy!)

Dave was needing to get some brush cleared along the back side of his property and spent the good part of a day cutting and hauling branches out to the front of the house where the garbage truck could pick it all up. Every now and then he would remove his gloves and wipe the sweat from his brow or take a nice long drink of cold water, and then go back to work. On one occasion as he removed his gloves he felt his ring slip off of his finger and he quickly retrieved his ring and slid it back where it belonged. But as he was finishing up his work he looked at his left hand and saw that his ring had come off again so he tipped up his glove to shake out his ring but this time his glove was empty! He began looking the yard over, thinking he could easily find it but after an hour of combing thru every possible place he could think of—NO RING! The thought of finding it with a metal detector seemed like the most logical thing so he went out and bought a lower end model and started searching the yard from back to the front and along the sides. Dave was determined to find his ring and then it slowly began to dawn that maybe it had dropped into the canal at the back side of the property. A week went by and Dave realized he needed more help and that led him to one of my stories on theringfinders.com web site.

It was a two hour drive to Dave’s home and it was threatening to rain big time but after hearing his story I felt there was a good chance of being able to find his ring so off I went. After arriving and surveying the yard I set up my Garrett ATMax metal detector and went to work. (A few days earlier Dave had a chain link fence installed along the canal–so that was the most challenging part. With the metal fence and the drop off into the canal!). With the sun starting to set I turned my attention to the front of the house where Dave had hauled all the debris. I decided to start by the front door and follow the sidewalk down to the mailbox when I got a loud, sharp signal that showed two inches deep on my display and low and behold there was Dave’s lost wedding ring–just barely visible under the grass. Dave was putting his two little ones to bed at the time so I texted him a short “I found your ring!”

Whenever I am called to help someone look for a lost valuable I always ask my family and my parents, who are 88 and 87 years old, to pray for me. I assure people that God knows exactly where their item is hiding and He just needs to put my coil over the top of it. Again I thanked God for allowing me to find Dave’s lost wedding ring—just in time for their 7th year anniversary!

How can I help you? Call me ASAP at 321-363-6029. Or send me a text or shoot me an email!

Ring lost at Fiesta Island found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Richard spent the day fishing on Fiesta Island. While cleaning some of the fish he had caught, he shook his hands to get some of the fish scales off, and his wedding ring went flying into the dry sand. He spent 3 days searching through the sand in that area, even buying a detector and trying his luck, but, he couldn’t find it. His online search brought him to TRF and my contact info. I met Richard at the site in the late afternoon where he showed me where he was setup the day of the loss. I’ve searched many areas of Fiesta Island before, and could understand why he had trouble trying to find his ring without any real experience using a detector. This area is tough even for seasoned pros. People have been burning wooded pallets and other scrap lumber on this Island for decades. Aluminum cans were thrown into the campfires and pull tabs litter the landscape. Anywhere you take a scoop of sand will result in 4-5 metal objects, so, it’s a real challenge to find just one signal in all that mess. It wasn’t a particularly big search area, but, it was slow going. 1 1/2 hours later, I had run 3 different grid lines over the entire search area, my trash pouch was almost full, and still no ring. I attacked ground zero at still a different angle and got another mixed signal on my Equinox…..the kind I’d been digging for the last hour and a half. After filtering out the sand, and pulling out 3 nails and 2 other pieces of melted aluminum, I finally see a ring in the scoop with the shells and rocks. Sure enough, it was Richard’s ring. Richard was overjoyed and was able to head home and give his wife the good news. A pleasure to meet you Richard, and thank you for the reward.
