I was contact by Stephanie a resident of Missouri City, Texas who was looking for someone to help her find her lost Graduate ring.

Stephanie said his wife had been in her backyard talking on the phone when she has the mis-fortune of dropping her ring in the grass in her yard.

Stephanie said she had been spinning the ring on her finger while she was on the phone…she said a one point if flew off her finger and landed in the grass.

Stephanie said she spent a number of hours on her hands and knees searching for her lost ring in the grass, but was unsuccessful. Stephanie said after a quick Google Search, she found The Ring Finders (Houston) – Houston Metal Detecting Services and placed the call.

After a short conversation with Stephanie, plans were made to meet that afternoon to search for the lost ring.

Unique 2 Generations of Rings Lost in the Ocean, Found and Returned in North Myrtle Beach SC

Kevin called me at 10 a.m. this morning saying he had lost his gold wedding band the day before and wanted to know if I could help find it. He went on to say that this ring was extremely sentimental to him as he had taken his grandfather’s wedding band and his father’s wedding band and melded them together to make one ring, his. This ring’s story had a long history attached to it and needed to be found. I asked him what time he lost it and how deep he was in the ocean. He replied, “3 p.m. and about belly deep.” Knowing the tide tables, this was right at mid-tide. So, depending on how much sand was on the beach, I’m thinking his ring should be buried very close to the low-tide line. I had a few things to do, and low tide wasn’t for a couple of hours so I told Kevin I’d be there around 11:30ish.

When I got to the beach, I texted Kevin saying, I’m here and stood around scoping out the conditions. It wasn’t long before Kevin and his wife, Suzanne, showed up, and Kevin started pointing out the suspected area. I thought my best hope was an east/west grid search, going from the wet sand to roughly waist deep water. Kevin didn’t know exactly where the ring had come off and mentioned that he had drifted both north and south. So I wanted to extend the search area taking advantage of the low tide. I had my White’s PI, which meant I was digging every piece of wire, bottle cap, and pull tab; and wasting a lot of time digging junk. I was on my 6th or 7th line and hit a great signal, dug it, and unfortunately, it was another bottle cap, a quick cuss word and I moved on. Within about 6 inches, I had another strong signal, thinking I had yet one more bottle cap to add to my collection, I dug the target. As I spread out the sand with my foot, I see this round thing peeking up through the sand and shells. Didn’t look like a bottle cap, reached down to pick it up and my finger went through the middle of it – BAM!!! I was holding this beautiful ring. I instantly knew it was Kevin’s from his description. I nonchalantly washed the sand off his ring in ankle deep water, grabbed my scoop and started walking back up the beach. I slipped his ring on my index finger to hide it from view until the right moment. At the same time, Kevin was walking down the beach towards me and asked, “Tell me.” I said, ‘Tell you what.” He replied, “Tell me you found my ring.” I held my hand up with the ring on my finger and said, “I don’t know, you tell me.” He yelled out, “Oh My GOD,” put both hands over his face, and was totally overwhelmed. Suzanne came running up the beach from the surf, with tears in her eyes. Many, many hugs and thank yous. This is the reason I do this. Total search time was just over an hour. 

Kevin and Suzanne, thank you so much for trusting me to help find your lost treasure! Have a safe trip back home.

Lisa and her friends had taken their you kids to Balboa Island for a few hours at the beach. There are several small beaches on the inter bay where the water is free of waves and it is not windy.

The children were getting tired after a few hours, so they prepared to return home. That’s when Lisa realized her platinum and diamond wedding ring was missing from her finger. It had to be in the dry sand because she had not been in the water. Everyone searched for the ring with no success. 

It was getting frustrating with the kids getting tired and hungry. Lisa called her husband, Ryan. He was at work where he couldn’t leave so he went online where he found my contact information. I was in my car with  my detectors when he called. It was a coincidence that I was less than a mile from where Lisa was waiting for help to find her precious wedding ring.

We met and it was a matter of a few minutes till my metal detector was able to locate her ring. I have a lot of respect for mothers of young children. It was a pleasure to help Lisa find her ring and get on her way to get the kids home for their lunch and afternoon nap.

Lisa was a little camera shy so I got to pose for photo with the ring for the book of smiles.

I received a text from Satya who was vacationing in San Diego but from Atlanta Georgia the day before when all of a sudden,,his Gold wedding ring fell off his hand disappearing into the Ocean at knee deep water! Uh oh!

Mother Nature can be a beast,Keep in mind that Gold weighs 19.3% more than water and will sink ⬇️ fast! The sooner we are called,The better the chance is of recovering it!

So I arranged for the best time to search which is at low tide later that day then we hiked down the steep staircase along the retreating cliff.

After many ring detective questions down the mountain to better help this search, I did feel confident in retrieving this lost ring cause he knew the general area where the ring flew off at. He also had used GPS to mark the spot plus took random scenic photos throughout that day.

I began scanning the first possible area when Satya later walked up saying he’s almost positive it was lost much further south near the trail head. So I began another methodical grid search pattern this time from north to south around 50’ swinging when after finding only just 1 nickel,I get a another similar (Beep) on my Garrett Metal Detector with indications of a nickel or possibly a Gold ring?? So I took 3 scoops which was roughly 12-14” down then magically his Gold wedding band appeared in my hand. What a relief it is when I get called to help with success.

Warning ⚠️ Renting or buying a metal detector can be risky. The sand in California is heavily mineralized & loaded with magnetite,Felspar,Iron Quartz and Hot rocks. It takes over 1,000 hours roughly to fully learn the functionality of most detector machines.

Lost gold ring in White Rock BC…Found!

I get a call from a young lady telling me that she was at White Rock Pier when her husband was giving her a beautiful 22k gold band when it suddenly slipped out of his hand and fell into the ocean below. She told me at that moment they both thought it was a gone forever.

She went back the next day and thought she saw the ring in the water below but it wasn’t the ring. She went home that night and went on google and searched the internet and found TheRingFinders. We decided to meet at the pier and she showed me the exact location the ring had fallen into the ocean.

Because the tide was low in the early morning I decided to go before work the next day. I got up at 3:30am and was at the beach by 4:50am I had the ring by 5:15 am and on my way to work! It was lucky the ring was there as its a very popular place to metal detect.

I received a call from Lloyd this morning requesting my service to locate his late father’s wedding band which he was wearing while playing ball with his dog in the park. I agreed to meet him at 2 pm.
When I meet Lloyd I asked him a lot of questions regarding the loss of his ring. He told me he had lost the ring 2 weeks ago while throwing a ball for his dog and that he had rented a metal detector with no luck. He even came back a couple of times with a rake and combed the area again. Finally he checked on the internet and found my advertisement. I gave Lloyd my test ring and I told him to throw the ring in the direction he thought the ring had gone. I told him his ring would be found within 10 feet of where the test ring landed and that is exactly where I found his ring. Lloyd was very grateful to have his father’s ring back on his finger. Again thank you Lloyd for allowing me to locate your lost ring.

Stephanie is from Utah, visiting family here in Laguna Beach, CA. They spent the day at 1000 Steps Beach. Where she had placed her Rose Gold Engagment Ring in her backpack. After leaving the beach returning home she could not find the ring. They returned to the beach that evening to search for the ring with no success. Making it more difficult she was not sure that the ring had been pulled out of the backpack.

 I received a call from Stephanie late that evening just before the beach closed. This beach is gated and closed from 10pm till 6am which made me put off the search till the next morning. She would not be able to meet me at the location because she would be driving back to Utah that day. We spent a few minutes on the phone where Stephanie gave me simple directions to the place they had been that day. 

I was on the beach early the next morning. After the first hour it was not looking like the ring could be found. Before giving up I was able to talk to Stephanie’s brother on my cellphone. He clarified the location and it only took another 15 minutes till I got the gold tone in my earphones. There in my sand scoop was a beautiful diamond engagement ring.

Texted a photo of the ring to Stephanie who was on the road near Las Vegas, NV. It’s awesome that we have the internet and cellphones that make a difference when it comes to finding sentimental items like wedding rings, etc. successful. Her brother and sister in law met me about noon to get the ring. Which they were able to take to Stephanie the next week when they had scheduled a vacation to Utah. 

It has happened several times over the past several years where rings get pulled out of beach bags or backpacks and end up lost in the sand. We had to try this search even though she didn’t see the ring fall into the sand. I knew we had a chance that the ring was lost in that location. This time it was a successful find.

I woke up this morning to an email from Lorena that had been sent in the early morning regarding her friend Diana’s lost iPhone. I emailed her back and asked her to call so we could discuss the loss. When she called I found out they had been out at the beach with friends late last night when one of them picked Diana up and began to spin around. Her phone was in her pocket, and the physical forces of the fast spin caused her phone to slide out and be launched into the sea of sand they were standing in. The phone probably flew like a Frisbee and knife edged itself into the sand because it was gone in an instant. They searched and searched in the darkness, but were unable to find it. I was worried it was in the area of the towel line and that the beach sifters might have gotten it in the early morning, but she let me know it was further back towards the parking lot which gave me hope for a successful recovery.

When I got to the beach and located the young ladies, they were definitely close to the parking lot, and there had been no beach cleaning there. We discussed what had happened, and she laid out the parameters of the search for me. I searched the area finding a lot of iron, bottle caps, and pull tabs, but no phone. As I was finishing up the area Diana came out to let me know they had been a little more towards the water as well, so I let her know I would continue my grid in that direction. I made about 4 more passes finding numerous metal targets, but not the phone. As I began the 5th pass I received a real good solid signal. I gingerly put the scoop in far behind the signal so as not to damage the phone if this was it, and lifted it out. There it was poking out from the dumped sand pile. I looked up and saw Diana and Lorena talking, they had not noticed that I found the phone, so I picked it up and put it in my finds bag and walked over to them. I asked Diana if I should expand the search out further, and when she turned to her friend I pulled the phone out and asked if it looked familiar, she then jumped to her feet in total surprise and joy. Phones can be a person’s lifeline these days, and to loose one can be traumatic experience. To be able to give Diana her phone back was a special experience today; smiles all around!

Cindy had been on line trying to purchase a inexpensive metal detector when she found my contact information on TheRingFinders.com. She had lost a gold bracelet that she has worn daily for fourteen years. Cindy believed it  came off while doing yard work or possibly in her house.

I told her about how metal detectors work and explained that we could eliminate the yard area using a metal detector. She would then able to concentrate her efforts on searching inside her home.

We made arrangements to meet that afternoon. I had thoughts that a gold bracelet should have been an easy to find in a grass lawn without a metal detector. I would understand what the conditions were when I got to the site. 

Cindy met me to show me two small grass lawns and some grass cuttings she saved. She suspected that her bracelet could have been pulled off where she pulled weeds near the rose bushes. I had to set up my detector using a higher frequency because there was electrical interference in the area.

Other than a couple pieces of tinfoil, the front lawn and rose garden didn’t produce the lost bracelet. We moved to the grass cuttings that Cindy had spread out on a tarp on the last small lawn. I got a strong gold signal but it seemed very small. It turned out to be a one inch piece of Cindy’s gold rope chain type bracelet. I had been hit with the lawn mower.

We went through a whole trash barrel full of grass clippings looking for the other six inches of the bracelet without success. Then I located another small (3/8”) piece of the gold chain in the lawn. Now I had an area to concentrate the search. The XP Deus with the high frequency coil located three of the smallest pieces. Then I found the other two pieces in the grass up next to a wall using a pinpointer.

It was a little disappointing that the bracelet had been damaged. Cindy was just happy to know that her cherished bracelet had been found. She plans to have it made into a pair of earrings.

Lost Platinum & Diamonds Engagement Ring at Ko Olina Lagoon 4…FOUND!!!

This ring find began September 3rd when I got a text from Ruth who said she just lost her Platinum & Diamonds Engagement ring while snorkeling in Lagoon Four of Ko Olina Resort. I made my way to Ko Olina where I met Eric & Ruth (both from San Jose, California) to hunt for the ring. Ruth was sure she lost the ring in chest high water or deeper so that’s where I started my grid search. After over an hour with no luck I decided I better come back the next morning and try the deeper water on scuba. When I arrived the next morning the security guard had already picked up ten box jellyfish from the shoreline so I aborted the dive. It would be Friday before it would be jellyfish free. I started the dive and after an hour and a half under water with no luck I decided I’d try again Saturday AM. On Saturday I brought my friend Terry in case I needed some help. After another hour and a half dive and a complete search of the area I was definitely frustrated when the ring wasn’t found. I thought what if Ruth only discovered the ring missing when she was in the deeper water. I decided to do the shoreline out to chest deep water. BOOM it paid off! In no more then thigh deep water there was Ruth’s awesome ring in my scoop. My theory was correct and as you can see it brought smiles to Ruth & Eric in San Jose when they finally had the ring back on Ruth’s finger where it belonged. Aloha to Ruth & Eric.
