*** Lisa and James were enjoying a day at Three Arch Bay, one of the few private beaches in The city of Laguna Beach, Calif.

Lisa took her platinum diamond ring off to apply sunscreen. She set the ring on top of a cooler. Sometime later she remembered, but her precious ring was missing. After searching the sand by hand, they feared that the seagulls may have taken the ring while they were in the water.

I was called after another person on the beach gave James my contact information.

Within an hour I was meeting them on the beach and my metal detector was able to locate the ring in the sand next to the cooler.

A very nice couple, who were very grateful that they took the time to call for help.

*** Cara dropped her small gold diamond wedding ring in the sand while vacationing at the Blue Lagoon Resort in Laguna Beach, CA. She called me for help. After discussing some details of her loss and her availability to meet me at the general location, I drove to help her on the beach.

Within an hour after she called, I was on the beach with my metal detecting equipment.

I got a couple trash metal targets, then I got another mixed sound signal that seemed to be trash metal. I dug the signal even though it could be trash. “Boom”.. a terrible signal turns out to be a bobby pin and Cara’s diamond wedding ring. More than one type metal next to each other can give false signals..  Experienced metal detector people know this.

Cara was very happy that her sentimental ring has not been lost forever .

*** Emily lives in San Clemente, CA. blocks away from the beach. She had taken her small daughter to the beach to get out of the house for a while. When she got home, her very small gold ring was not on her finger. She was positive that she had it on when she was at the beach.

Emily called me after a friend gave her my contact information. Usually I wait till the beach is clear of people sitting on the sand, but I met her at the location, knowing I would only have to wait a hour or so to have the whole beach to myself. It was more important to get a definite location.  This time I was lucky, I didn’t have to wait. The small ring was in a clear area between two beach blankets. Emily was standing right next to me. A awesome recovery and return to a happy mother with her little child as a witness.

*** Newport Beach lost sentimental ring was lost in sand.  Late one weekday just before sunset Mabel called asking if I was available to help her find a gold ring she dropped in the sand.

I only ask where I could meet her and if she could be there to guide me to the general location of the loss. Waisting time discussing too many details isn’t  necessary, when I’m only minutes away from the location.

I met Mabel just before dark. It was getting windy and cold.

A few minutes into the search I was able to locate Mabel’s precious ring and get her on her way off the beach to return home with her priceless keepsake.

*** I was parked at Newport Beach pier eating lunch in my car, when I received a call from Hau. His wife had dropped her Platinum wedding band in the sand at Balboa Beach two miles away from where I was parked.

He told me they had been searching the sand for almost two hours with no success. I always have my detector in my car, so I could meet them in 15 minutes.  I didn’t need to ask very many questions after they said it was in a small area where they were sitting.

I  drove directly to a parking space less than 25 yards from where they waited for me. It was another quick recovery, probably less than 10 minutes after turning on my metal detector.

They were very happy to have the ring recovered. Hau said, he was impressed at how fast I was able to get to his location. It’s not always like that, in the summer it can take as long as an hour just to find a parking place.

Don’t waste time, call ASAP.. I’m available to answer your questions .. We can usually tell if your loss can be found with my equipment. “I WILL TRY ANYWHERE”

*** Fran called me asking how my metal detecting service works. I gave her the basic explanation. I did need to know details of her loss before I could commit  to a search.  “She never told me that the loss happened 9 years ago, until after I found the ring.”

She told me that she had been doing her nails while sitting on a sofa. She put three rings on the arm rest of the sofa. Later she could only find two of the three rings. She and her husband searched and couldn’t find the diamond engagement ring. I told her that the large detectors will not work inside a home, but I have a endoscope camera and a few other tools for search indoors and cars.

This sounded easy because I figured it was in the sofa or got kicked off under another piece of furniture.

When I met her at the address she gave me, she told me the sofa was now at her father’s home.  That only leaves the sofa to search.  All the time she never mentioned the loss occurred in 2014, nine years ago.

The gaps on the bottom side of the cushion didn’t allow fingers to reach to the bottom of the lining. I pushed the endoscope into the narrow space and  “Boom” .. a peanut, a dime and a beautiful diamond engagement ring.

Fran came in from the other room and was so surprised. that was when she told me how long it had been missing. She told me she had given up years ago and her friend told her about my service, asking her to try me.

I love these miracle recoveries. I’m also pretty sure I would have not been so willing to try if she told me the loss happened so many years ago and the sofa was not in the same house where the ring was lost. I guess things happen the way they are supposed to happen.

Lost Silver Irish Claddagh Ring Saved from the Sand at SoCal Beach

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Call or text Stan the Metal Detector Man if you lose a ring in the sand.

… Rachael put her two rings in her shirt pocket and walked across the sand to set up her beach chair on the sand so she could watch the waves. Some time between where she parked her car and where her beach chair one of the two rings was lost. It had to be in the sand.

The missing ring was a silver Irish claddagh designed ring passed down to her by her grandmother. After discussing when she last saw the ring and what she might have done that caused the ring to fall out of the pocket. It could have been pulled out when she took her celphone from the same pocket.

I wasn’t looking foreword to gridding the 100 plus yards of sand back to the parking lot. Our best place to start would be where Rachael spent most of the time.  After a few minutes I got a great high tone from my metal detector with high numbers that are common for silver metal. Boom ! One quick dig with my xtreme sand scoop, I had her ring. She stood watching the search process and I was able to let her reach in the scoop to retrieve her very special ring. Happiness is having your ring returned after you thought it was lost forever. Rachael was a very happy lady to have her ring saved from the sand.

Platinum Wedding Ring Recoverd after Boogie Boarding So Cal Beach

*** Jordan called me believing his platinum wedding ring came off his finger while digging in the sand with his daughter.  He and his family are on vacation in Newport Beach, CA.

We met on the beach as the tide was rising. The sand castle was still accessible to detect with my water proof metal detector. After about a half an hour the ring was not found. I asked a few more questions, specifically if he had been swimming earlier in the day.

He had been boogie boarding a couple hours before discovering his ring missing.  Even though he didn’t think it was lost while in the water at low tide, I told him I would come back later that night to search the low tide. Six hours later I returned that evening.. BOOM! successful recovery. I have better success finding rings lost while boogie boarding than I have from people that lose their rings while surfing or body surfing.

Jason was amazed that his ring was actually found where he thought he had still had it on after boogie boarding.

** Kevin called me while he was searching the sand for his wedding ring.. He said he had been at a Newport Beach location with his wife and young child. The had a small pop up tent for the youngster. He gave his silver wedding band to his wife for safe keeping. She put the ring in the small pocket inside the tent.

They left the beach returning home. That’s when they checked the tent for the ring. It was not in the pocket. Kevin figured the ring may have fallen in the sand when they picked up their beach equipment.

His call came to me as I was going to a doctor appointment. I had enough time to stop by to see the suspected area of the loss. I only had a minute to talk to him and assured him would return to scan the area he showed me.

When I returned two hours later, I did a preliminary search as there were too many people on the beach to be thorough. I did eliminate a major area except where other beach goers were set up. I don’t like to ask people to move, especially when the ring could be anywhere, in the sand, in the car, or the garage.

Long story short, I came back a 7pm and had the whole beach clear of people. After 20 minutes I had the silver ring in my beach sand scoop. I called Kevin and he was very excited. He told me that today was their 10th wedding anniversary. He wife was so happy.
