Engagement Ring Lost at Astotin Lake, Lamont County, Alberta Canada.

I received a call from Elizabeth requesting my assistance in locating her lost engagement ring, which she lost while at the lake three days prior to calling me.

After speaking with Elizabeth and asking my customary questions, I agreed to drive to Elk Island National Park, which is a 55-minute drive east of me.

I met Elizabeth at the lake, and she showed me where the ring had fallen off her finger and into the lake. Elizabeth was standing on the dock while wiping sand off her pants, and the ring fell off her finger.

Elizabeth informed me that the ring was near the tenth post on the pier. She had purchased a metal detector from Amazon but was unable to find her ring. I spent approximately four hours in the lake, which was very murky and infested with leeches.

I conducted a thorough search of the area. I was certain that her ring was not in that area. Elizabeth was visibly disappointed with the outcome. I searched alone the pier edge from the water’s edge to the end of the pier and underneath the pier.

I took a break and re-evaluated the situation. I continued to ask Elizabeth questions, and the answer was always the same: the ring fell off at the tenth post.

I returned to the lake with another metal detector and, not five minutes later, I received a positive response. I retrieved her ring between the ninth post. I showed Elizabeth her ring, and she was overjoyed.

Thank you, Elizabeth, for entrusting me with the task of finding your ring.

Lost Sentimental Gold Ring In Sea Isle City NJ Found by John Favano Ring Finders South Jersey

LOST A RING IN SEA ISLE CITY, NJ?

When Kaitlyn’s family heirloom ring slipped off her finger while playing in the surf in Sea Isle City, NJ, panic immediately set in. The sentimental ring, passed down from her grandmother, disappeared into the rough ocean water during a day with a strong rip current. Like many beachgoers, she feared the ring was gone forever beneath the waves of the Jersey Shore.

Thankfully, Kaitlyn contacted Ring Finders South Jersey and metal detector specialist John Favano responded within 20 minutes of the call. Quick response time is critical during ocean recoveries because tides, currents, and beach conditions can rapidly move jewelry farther away from the original drop location.

After gathering the exact details of where the ring was lost, John entered the water and began a careful grid search using professional underwater metal detecting equipment. Despite the heavy surf and challenging conditions, the search continued for nearly two hours. Even after Kaitlyn and her family had to leave the beach to get their children home, the search continued.

About 30 minutes later came the call every client hopes for — the ring had been FOUND.

The heirloom ring was recovered in waist-deep water, even though it originally slipped off in knee-deep surf. Ocean currents had already moved the ring significantly, which demonstrates why experience and persistence matter during water recoveries.

Kaitlyn later shared this review:

“Can’t say enough positive things about Ring Finders South Jersey! I called when my ring slipped off my finger in the ocean while playing with my kids. My ring was a family heirloom from my grandmother and I couldn’t believe my horrible mistake of wearing it into the water. A friend gave me his number right after it happened and he came within 20 minutes after calling. I didn’t have high hopes for the outcome as the rip current was so strong that day, and I assumed it must have been pulled far away from where it dropped. He searched the entire area we were for about 2 hours… About 30 minutes after we left the beach I got the phone call that he FOUND THE RING! I could not believe it! He found it in about waist deep of water when it had dropped off my finger in about knee deep water. He was incredibly thorough in his search. I am so thankful I called him as I am sure I would have never recovered the ring.”

At Ring Finders South Jersey, every recovery is treated with urgency because sentimental jewelry cannot be replaced. Whether it is a wedding ring, engagement ring, necklace, bracelet, or family heirloom lost in the sand or surf, professional metal detecting recovery services are available throughout South Jersey beaches including Sea Isle City, Ocean City, Wildwood, Avalon, Stone Harbor, and Cape May.

If you lose jewelry at the beach, avoid searching randomly and contact RING FINDERS SOUTH JERSEY immediately before tides and currents move the item farther away.

Received a call from Joes cousin Nicole. Nicole explained that her cousin Joe had just lost his ring in the surf while enjoying the ocean with the family. Joe was body surfing, and at some point, his gold wedding ring had slipped off and disappeared into the ocean. It was just about 5pm when they called and low tide was at 5:30pm. I immediately rushed up and met up with Joe and his family. Joe was fairly confident of where he was at when he noticed the ring was gone but wasnt positive of exactly when it happened. He was between chest deep water and ankle deep surf. I began working a search grid from where he believed was the most probable spot. After recovering many targets in the “wash zone” I began to work my way out to deeper water. Joe and his family had returned to their home for dinner and I assured them that I would continue searching the area to ensure it was thoroughly covered. After about 2hrs of searching I heard the signal I was waiting for. After two scoops in chest deep water out popped Joes ring! Another happy client!

Joes Review:

“Jeff Laag and Ring Finders Cape May are incredible! I lost my wedding ring in the ocean while on vacation last week. Jeff showed up in no time and immediately started his search! I had dropped some change where I thought I lost the ring to help with his search. Jeff found all $9 in change, searching diligently. After two hours I had all but given up and was going to have to tell my wife I lost my ring less than a year into our marriage! Just then, Jeff sent a message that he had concluded his search…and found the ring! Five feet deep in the ocean! If you’ve lost a ring/ valuable metals you need to give this man a call! Thanks Jeff!”

LOST Platinum wedding ring (for 5 months) at Air BnB on Lake Gaston, NC….. FOUND!!

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)

So got a text from the wife of a guy that lost his platinum wedding ring at an AirBnB last November, just as the cold weather started coming in, I told her that sadly, I was done with water hunting for the season and that I could do it in late spring/early summer depending on the AirBnB schedule.

So a couple of weeks ago, I texted her and said I could do now that temperatures are rising. She responded and said she’d have to contact the owner of the house and get back with me.

We worked out a date and time for Sunday after 10:15 when the family checks out. I make the drive, review last years pictures and jump in the water to start my search. About an hour went by and I finally see a silvery/Platinum ring in my scoop!

I get out, take some pictures and send it to her, asking if this was “the ring!” She quickly replied back, “OMG, YES!” I said “send me your address and I’ll send you guys the ring!”

I sent this platinum ring to MD and the received it! It’s back where it belongs!!

Lost Yellow Gold and Diamonds Hawaiian Style Ring in Ulua Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began yesterday when I got a call from Amy, who lives on Oahu.  While enjoying the day at Ulua Lagoon, her husband Jan was playing with the kids and tossing them up and out into the water.  One of the kids grabbed hold of Jan’s necklace, which had the ring on it and the necklace broke.  The ring went flying but in what direction and how far?  They were able to find the necklace but not the ring.  Jan had assumed the ring would be in the waist to chest deep water he had been standing in.  Knowing they were down in front of the umbrellas I told Amy I would hunt the next day.  I started the hunt on the Southern umbrella and worked North.  I concentrated on the waist to chest deep water.  Then after about 30 minutes as I was heading shoreward in ankle deep water I got a nice screaming tone on the Manticore and after two scoops I was surprised to see Jan’s awesome ring in the scoop.  I went back to my car and sent a pic to Amy as Jan was working in Waikiki.  Her response was “Oh my!!! You found it!!!”  I called and Amy said she would tell Jan and he could swing by my house which is 5 minutes from Waikiki, and pick up his ring after work.  Jan was stoked to be going home with his ring!  Aloha to Amy & Jan!

Lost Key Fob in the Snow in Edgewater Park NJ

  • from South Jersey (New Jersey, United States)
Contact:

This past winter kept me busy.

I had just gotten home & put away all of my detecting equipment from an earlier request when I received a call from Moise. While shoveling, he lost his keys & fob. I told him I could be there in about 30 minutes.

When I got there, he showed me where he was shoveling. There were some pretty high piles of snow. He went back into the house.

I got started. Within 5 minutes, I got a good signal. Dug down about 15 inches, and there were his keys. I knocked on the door and showed him his fob. He was amazed at how quickly I found them. He had been looking for hours.

I love my hobby!!

Gold Wedding Band Lost, Recovered and Returned in Wilmington, DE!!!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Don’t wait…Call/Text Rich Hageney to find you lost valuables!!! He will deliver!!! (484)433-6990

Fellow Ring Finder, John Favano, referred Jamie to me. Time was of the essence on this one! Jamie was extremely stressed and upset over his lost gold wedding band…a wedding band he had been wearing for 38 years year straight and sadly, one in which he continued to wear in honor of his recently deceased wife. Oh…we were going to find this one…no matter what! Jamie was driving down his quiet community street with his left arm out the window….when he felt his ring slip off…and heard it bounce (once) on the street below. He immediately pulled to the side of road…thinking he would find after a quick search. But when he could not locate it he had a crowd of family and friends join in the search on hands and knees and they searched for hours. I showed up 60 minutes later with several metal detectors to assist in the search. Jamie described all the details involved when losing the ring…we even re-enacted the loss with him driving down the road and dropping a washer to simulate the ring. I firstly scanned the 3 small grassy front yards right where he said the ring slipped off…a gold ring on the surface has a very unique signature on my Minelab Manticare metal detector…and I knew for sure it was not in one of those areas. Time to expand the search…maybe the ring bounced and rolled farther away than anyone thought??? I walked 30 yards farther to another grassy area bordering the street…and boom…I got the gold ring signal I was hoping for. I looked down and saw his large gold ring sitting on top of the grass…I called at Jamie who was sitting looking dejected down the street and said I had another question  for him…he walked up to me and I said my question is “is that your ring”…pointing downward. Man…not sure I ever saw a guy look so relieved…he then become overpowered by emotion. It was very satisfying to be able come through for this kind and caring man.

Sentimental Charm Necklace Found in Ocean City NJ Beach Sand by Ring Finders South Jersey John Favano

Lost a ring in Ocean City NJ?
Call 215-850-0188
Visitors come to Ocean City to relax and create memories, but sometimes valuable jewelry disappears unexpectedly in the sand. That happened to Jim after spending time on the beach with family and friends. The next morning, he contacted ringfinderssouthjersey.com about a sentimental chain and charm he believed had fallen off during the previous day’s beach trip.
The necklace carried tremendous sentimental value because it had been given to him 10 years earlier. After returning home that evening, Jim noticed the necklace was no longer around his neck. He searched everywhere he could think of before realizing the beach was likely where it had been lost.
Time matters during beach recoveries. Ocean tides, beach cleaning equipment, and heavy foot traffic can all make locating jewelry increasingly difficult. After speaking with Jim and getting a detailed description of the area, I headed out with my metal detecting equipment to begin the search.
When searching for lost jewelry in beach sand, staying methodical is important. I carefully worked the target area using overlapping search patterns to ensure nothing would be missed. After a short time, my detector alerted me to a solid target beneath the sand.
Within moments, the sentimental necklace and charm were safely recovered.
Recoveries like this highlight why experience and quick response matter when searching for lost jewelry on New Jersey beaches. Thin chains and smaller charms can easily disappear beneath the sand and become impossible to spot visually. Professional metal detecting equipment greatly improves the chances of recovery.
Thankfully, Jim’s cherished necklace was returned safely, turning a stressful situation into a happy ending.

Lost Engagement Ring Recovery at a farm in Grimsby Ontario

  • from Toronto (Ontario, Canada)

Another memorable recovery story!

Ryan contacted us by text after Emily had lost her ring the day before while feeding her horses. She had already spent hours that evening searching everywhere she could think of, but the ring had completely disappeared.

We started searching around the stalls and checked the areas where she had been working. Then we moved on to the feed bags and searched through them one by one. Down to the very last bag… we finally got the signal we were hoping for.

Sure enough, hidden inside the last feed bag was Emily’s missing ring!

Recoveries like this are a great reminder that lost items often end up in the places you’d least expect.

Another amazing recovery for an amazing couple!
