Back in the Saddle! A Silver Chain Recovery in Valley Stream, NY! ⛓️🔎
It’s been quite a while since my last Ring Finders recovery, but today I got back in the game!
Around noon, I received a text from Ramy, a pharmacy owner in the Bronx, who had lost his silver necklace and pendant somewhere on a FULL-SIZE football field at Valley Stream State Park.
A football field? No problem. Just a few thousand square yards to search! 😂
Ramy couldn’t meet me until 6:30 PM, after closing his pharmacy, but I figured I’d get a head start. The park was about a 30-minute drive from my home, and I arrived shortly before 1 PM, armed with my metal detector and a little optimism.
Nearly three hours of searching later, I finally got the signal I was hoping for!
There it was — Ramy’s silver chain!
Unfortunately, the pendant had separated from the necklace. I expanded my search outward from the recovery spot, working the surrounding area, but despite my best efforts, the pendant remained elusive.
Still, finding that chain in such a massive area felt pretty darn good, especially after being away from detecting for so long!
Later that evening, after closing his pharmacy, Ramy came to my home to pick up his recovered necklace. He was genuinely appreciative and handed me a full reward he had promised before I even began the search.
But here’s the best part…
We spent some time talking, and I quickly realized that Ramy is just an all-around good guy. What started as a search for a lost necklace may very well have turned into a lifelong friendship.
The pendant may still be out there, but the chain is back where it belongs, and I made a new friend in the process.
That’s what I love about being part of The Ring Finders. Sure, the thrill of the hunt is great, but it’s the people you meet and the smiles you bring that make it all worthwhile.
One recovery, one happy customer, and hopefully one friendship for life! 😊
