2 White Gold Rings – Wedding band and Engagement Ring Lost in the Yard, Found and Returned Galivants Ferry SC

Around 5 pm on Tuesday, June 3, 2026 after finishing up another search, I saw a text message on my phone. The text read, “Hi is this Mr. Wren? I found you on Google. I’m in Galivants Ferry SC, but wanted to see if this is too far out for you to help find my wedding ring and band.” I called the number attached to the text and talked with Sophia. She explained that she had lost her rings in her front yard. She gave me her address and I plugged it into my phone map. Told her I’d be there in about an hour and 20 minutes and was on my way.

When I arrived, I saw Sophia and her husband   Hunter sitting on the front porch. I met both in the front yard and Sophia showed me the area she thought the rings would be from the day before. However, she also said that she and Hunter had been out until late in the night with flashlights with no luck. She also said it had rained hard that night and was afraid the rings may have washed away. I assured her the rings were still where they fell. Although I had my Equinox 800, this was going to be a completely visual search. After searching the majority of the front yard, I decided to move my car out of the driveway. Hunter followed suit and moved their vehicle as well. I extended the search out and by now Hunter, Sophia, a neighbor and her son had joined in the search. Shortly after moving the cars, I spotted the wedding band and handed it to Sophia. A few minutes later Hunter spotted the engagement ring. Both rings had been hiding under their car the whole time. Another great ending!!!

I was contacted by Ryan’s wife that he had lost his wedding band at a ballfield. He had went out and tried to find it with a metal detector but was unable to do so. I could not head out immediately and then we got pushed back due to the ballfield being at a school. Finally we were able to meet up and Ryan showed me where he believed the ring was lost. I told Ryan it was a pretty standard search and he could do whatever while he was waiting for me to search. I had told him I brought a few different metal detectors and he asked if he could use one and search as well. Not my normal protocol but it was a large area and it could be done without the machines interfering with each other. I gave him a quick tutorial on how to use it. I only had one pin pointer and had kept it with me for the tall grass. I started at one end and Ryan started at the other. During the search we had a few false alarms where Ryan had a hit but upon further investigation it was not the ring. Then suddenly it was not a false alarm as Ryan hollered over with a big smile and his ring in his hand.

It was awesome that it was recovered and I told Ryan he might have a future as my wingman. He had sworn that he was over that area before with a detector. It is hard to tell as we all know this can be a game of inches but if he was it is also a testament to having the right equipment for the job. It was a pleasure to meet another kind and generous client and have the twist of him using some of my equipment to find his ring!

Lost – Mens Platinum Wedding Ring, Daytona Beach, FL – FOUND!!!

I had just gotten into my car for a couple of hours of metal detecting when my phone rang. I was headed to a spot in South Daytona when Amro called. Referred by my good friend Mike, he explained that he had lost his platinum wedding ring while swimming in the surf in front of the Daytona Grande Oceanfront Resort.

I told him I was on my way and should be there within thirty minutes, depending on parking. As I drove, I prayed that I would find both a parking spot and the ring.

When I arrived, a close parking space was waiting for me. I gathered my gear, walked onto beautiful Daytona Beach, and met Amro in front of his hotel.

He showed me an area, about thirty feet long that stretched from the wet sand into the waves. “Somewhere in here I felt it slip off,” he said, pointing to the northeast corner. “If I had to guess, it was right there.”

I fired up my trusty Minelab Manticore and began carefully gridding the area, working from the wet sand into knee-deep water. Nothing. Not a beep, not a whisper.

I decided to expand the search. The south side came up empty, but only a few swings into the northern section, I got a strong signal. Just as a wave pushed me off target, I relocated it and took one scoop. Instantly, I heard the unmistakable jangle of a ring in my basket.

Found!

I held the ring high, and Amro came running through the surf. With a huge smile and a grateful hug, he was reunited with the platinum wedding ring from his four-year marriage to his lovely bride Saresh.

Another happy ending on the beach.

Donovan was doing some work along the Florida Turnpike in Clermont, Florida and after laying out cable and then loading up the company truck he noticed that his wedding ring was no longer on his finger. He checked his gloves and then the truck and retraced his steps hoping to spot his lost gold wedding ring. He and his coworker searched for over an hour and finally realized that they probably needed a metal detector along with someone who actually knew how to use it to help find his lost gold wedding ring. Donovan found my number on theringfinders.com website and after hearing his story I met him later on that afternoon. He explained that there were two places where he was fairly sure he lost his ring…so at the first location he explained how he had laid out a few thousand feet of fiber optic cable in a large figure eight but I searched the immediate area and then further out just to be sure but his ring was not there. The second location was a much larger area and he explained how he again laid out another large figure eight of cable and also had run down a steepish hill where he said at the bottom of the slope he said he shook his hands…but again after covering most all that area…still no ring. I asked Donovan if there was anything else he might have done that could have made his ring come off and he said at one point he threw a large plastic traffic cone down the hill so that was an area that deserved a good look. I searched all along the downhill trajectory that the cone would have taken and then went to the top where Donovan threw it from and low and behold there was his lost gold wedding ring…behind where he stood and slightly over his right shoulder. Donovan could not believe that I was actually able to find it and he was very, very happy and could not stop smiling and thanking me!

Gold ring lost while laying sod finally found

Four weeks into a gardening project the loss of her husbands ring while laying sod kept coming up, the drive up the driveway also a constant reminder of the loss.  Coincidentally or by sheer divine appointment Yessenia sent us a text requesting help.  The rest is history, our motto being “it’s only lost until you call.”  After over three hours under the hot humid Florida sun the ring was successfully located about 6 inches down under a sod strip.  That’s where having the best MineLab equipment really pays dividends, having the knowhow and right tool for the job.  Thanks be to God, their story continues, the wedding band back on the finger where it belongs.  🙌💍🎉

LOST HEIRLOOM WHITE GOLD WEDDING RING IN NORTH SPOKANE….FOUND!!!

There are only a few reasons why Jade would take off her ring, which was a gorgeous white gold wedding ring her grandma left her when she passed. However, the reason that made her ring come off was not a reason she had ever considered. See, Jade was at a birthday party for her nephew, and it was in full swing. The pool was cool and refreshing. The drinks were delicious and overflowing. Jade’s family were all having a great time. Amongst all this glee there was a tussle that broke out. It was brother vs. sister; I’m pretty sure sister won. This led into a cousin falling down and Jade and a few others trying to pick up the poor fella. The night seemed to slip away into the darkness of a hazy birthday party. After the fog of a few too many had lifted, Jade’s hand that the ring was on felt a little off. As Jade brought it up into view, the problem became very clear. Grandmas ring was missing. The moments turned into hours, the hours turned into an afternoon, the whole family was in search and recover mode. They took a quick trip to the hardware store, and they had a metal detector in their grip. Swinging the coil around felt awkward. The myriads of signals played havoc on their confidence and ultimately left them feeling hopeless. Hopeless fingers got online and typed in a search term that brought up The Ring Finders website. The same fingers dialed the local Ring Finder.  My ears got to hear the sad story of how Jade lost her ring. Then I drove quickly to Jade’s mom’s house where the ring was hiding. Tracy, Jade’s mom gave me more details about that night before and how the ring probably was lost. I made a few passes over the most likely spot and then moved outward from there. After completing two grid searches on the grass I moved onto the unlikely areas. Behind the pool, in the trash can, in the neighbor’s yard and finally around the patio. As some of Jade’s family was leaving so was my hope in finding Jade’s ring. Talking about how I would search the house with Tracy, I decided to go over how the ring could be lost in the gap of the flower box and the fence. Both the flower box and the fence were giving off strong metal signals. Even though I had already searched with my coil and my pin pointer in this flower box I had not pulled back the grass and looked in the gap. As I shuffled through the weeds, I moved a pool noodle that was wedged in the gap. After not seeing the ring, I set down the noodle and got a very shocking glimpse of Jade’s ring. The eruption of emotion took over the moment. Jade had been inside the house when I said the famous Ring Finders words, ” I Found It”.  Tracy called to Jade and they both embraced in a hug with tears of joy running down their faces. Shock waves for happiness radiated out from that back yard.  The thoughts of a higher power at work crossed Jades mind as she looked up to sky at her late grandma smiling down on her. I know how mysterious Gods works are and that afternoon was no small miracle. Jade’s ring was found and I thank the God for that. Thank you, Jade, and to your family as well for trusting The Ring Finders and believing in the goodness of people.

The first GOLD ring I ever found, went VIRAL!

One of my favorite memories…

After finding my first ever gold ring while metal detecting, I did a little detective work to track down the original owner. The ring I found was a big 1960 gold class ring from a nearby high school. After a little research, I found that the school keeps photos of each graduating class in the main hallway. After finding the class of 1960 all I had to do was find the person with the same initials on the ring, and as luck would have it, there was only one match. I instantly punched his name into Google on my phone, and to my surprise, he was the first person to pop up. After contacting this person and asking him if he had lost a class ring, we set up a meeting so I could return it to him. He and his wife were thrilled to see the ring again after over fifty years of being lost, and I was glad I could be a part of its return.

After more than 50 years lost, the ring made its way back to the original owner.  It’s moments like these that remind me why I love detecting!

Success – Wedding Ring Found – Downingtown, Pa

I received a text from Matt last weekend to say that he thought he had lost his Platinum wedding band while mowing his lawn.  I was able to make it to his property and conduct a search a few days later.  After approximately 25 minutes with my coil to the soil I was able to locate said ring.  Matt was thrilled and could not believe that I found his ring for he had purchased a machine hoping to find the ring on his own.  Without success, he needed to call in the pros.  Another satisfied customer of the AMDC

LOST GOLD WEDDING RING IN CHARLOTTE, NC…..FOUND!!!

I received a call last night from this gentleman stating he had just lost his ring. We agreed to meet up the next morning so we had more time and sunlight. He continued saying he bought a metal detector and was getting lots of signals. He took the machine back last night after we talked.

I arrived around 8:30 and found the gold ring by 9:30. He thought he lost it about 50 yards back so we spent most of the time searching where he thought he lost it. After I wasn’t finding it, I started working my way further down and finally got a good double tap single I was hoping for!

He was so exited! Another happy story! Love recovering rings for people!!!

Lost Sentimental Gold Rope Chain at Aulani Beach Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

This Gold Chain Find began Sunday, 17 May as I was recovering a lost Gold Wedding band at Aulani Resort.  After a successful ring recovery, a gentleman approached me and said his friend Jeremy from Poway, California had lost his Sentimental Gold Rope Chain the day before nearby the paddle board buoys.  He went to go get Jeremy so we could focus the search area down.  Jeremy explained he had been rough housing with children of the family in the water and he imagined the chain had to of fallen off in waist to chest deep water in the area near the buoys.  I did a search but the chain eluded me.  I told Jeremy I would return at a later time and bring scuba in case it was in deeper water.  After a bit of a communication mix up, I returned on Thursday 21 May and found a hefty gold chain on the shoreline in ankle deep water.  To verify the chain I asked Jeremy if he could identify the two unique words on the clasp but he said his was plain and didn’t have a name.  We assumed it wasn’t his and it didn’t quite match the grainy photo Jeremy had sent on Sunday.  Another search yielded no other chains.  The more I looked at the photo the more I was convinced this could be Jeremy’s chain.  I gave Jeremy a call back in Poway, California.  He still couldn’t identify the names, so I asked if he had a better picture of the chain.  He said he did and sent one to me.  There was no doubt.  Fortunately for us, Jeremy’s niece was still on island just down the street from my home.  We made the transfer and she returned it to Jeremy today.  Grandfather’s chain reunited and look at that smile of thankfulness.  Aloha to Jeremy!
