Andrew was tying up his family’s pontoon boat, when he bent over to grab the rope, his iPhone 13 slipped out of his shirt pocket and dove into the water. Andrew tried to dive down and find the phone without any success. Andrew turned to the computer and started researching metal detectors. After becoming overwhelmed with the idea, he decided to look up underwater metal detector rentals in his area . The Ring Finders website popped up with the answer he needed. So I got a text from Andrew today about his lost phone. We spoke on the phone and made arrangements for me to show up later that day. After arriving and putting on all my snorkeling gear I quickly made my way to where he said he bent over to grab the rope. Scanning around with my Equinox 800 I had very few targets and I knew that his phone would sing to me if I went over it. After about two minutes of detecting I got a symphony of sound in my headphones. I dove down two different times and the second, I came up with his iPhone 13. I’m completely thrilled with the reward you gave me Andrew and I really hope after drying your phone it turns on. Those iPhones are amazing when it comes to being waterproof.
Swimming around, splashing and having fun Christina was enjoying a summer time swim in Deer Lake. As the family dog inched closer to the edge of the dock, Christina started splashing at the dog to entice the dog to jump in. Watching the water droplets fly into the air Christina saw her engagement ring fly off of her finger and quickly sink into the deep dark water below. Panicking, Christina screamed for help. Her fiance Braeden heard her cries and ran out quickly to find out the cause. Dismayed by the news of the lost ring Braeden, Christina and the friends and family that were there started to brainstorm on how to recover the ring. The water was 20ish feet deep, so they thought they might be able to drop a magnet down to retrieve the ring. After testing the magnet out on other rings that were present they found out gold is not magnetic. Braeden then knew what he had to do, ask Google a question. How to find a ring in a lake. I was just walking back to my car after celebrating a birthday party for some neighbor kids when I got a call. “Can you you find a ring in a lake”? Braeden asked. My answer was a resounding yes and we discussed the details of the search. I got all my gear ready and headed out to Deer Lake. After diving down to 20 feet I could see and fill a that i was in a thermocline . The water was an ice cold 32 degree and viscis . The visibility was ok until the silt got stirred up. Oh yeah and my waterproof metal detector started to flood with water. I however, didn’t find this out until I arrived home. I knew for a fact that my metal detector was the reason I didn’t find the ring. I did tell Christina and Braeden I would fill my tanks and be back the next weekend. So here we are the next weekend. I found myself suiting up to go diving again at Deer Lake. Christina and Braeden were there anxiously waiting. I had another waterproof metal detector with me this time a vibratector. So I knew I would be getting a lot of signals. After about a dozen nails later I transitioned to the left of my buoy and there in the silt was Christina’s ring. The amazement of seeing her ring was overwhelming. I worked really hard to find that ring so it felt great to have it in my hand. I surfaced with the ring and told the couple man its clear down there, so clear I found your ring. Braeden had a huge smile on his face as I handed him the ring. As I exited the water and packed up my gear, I got to talk to Braeden and Christina about their engagement and proposal. They both were very happy with lots of praise and thank you’s. I had a blast finding this ring thank you guys for trusting in the Ring Finders.
Everytime I get a call for a lost ring in a lake I have to tell myself and the caller that the odds are severely against you to perfectly retrace your path in the water. If however there is a fixed objetect near the lost target area that can mark the spot, that will increase the odds considerably. For Philip and Jane they defied these truths that I have come to know. Both of them used situational awareness and pinoint memory recall to put me in the exact spot I needed to be in. That exact spot was in 17 feet of water in Diamond lake. I was parallel to and about 20 feet from the floating dock and perpendicular with the last pillar on the porch which was over 200 feet away. I was guided to those two markers by Jane. See Philip had mentally marked these two spots right after he saw his ring slip off his finger and sink into the abyss. Also I had a floating buoy with an anchor and guide line and another guide line attached to the dock. However none of my equipment not even my metal detector was needed. As I descended down to where my buoy was anchored I was scanning the lake floor. As a large log and a 25 gallon steel drum came into view I saw the glimmer of a golden rim in between them. The shock and awe of seeing the ring sitting there stunned me. But as I was just a few feet away from the ring my stunned state turned into excitement. I scooped up the ring and attached it to my bcd, then grabbed my guide lines and buoy and swam back to the dock. Jane was sitting on the porch when I came back to shore, probably a little confused about my quick return. Although me holding up her husband’s ring quickly remedied her confusion. I have to give full credit to Philip and Jane. They trusted me to come out and find that ring but also gave me the best chance I could have to recover Philip’s ring. Tremendous thanks to you guys for the reward and outstanding directions.
John, his wife and kids were out in the backyard enjoying the first day of heat this summer. Sunscreen, water and running around were the ingredients for fun that day. Little did they know, those ingredients are also how you make a ring disappear. At 11 am John had his picture taken showing his wedding ring on his hand. By 6pm another picture of John was taken and his ring was gone. After realizing that his ring was gone John grabbed a rake and raked the whole back yard. With no luck, John put on a rubber band in place of his ring and went to work. As john sat at his desk brainstorming a solution to his lost ring problem, John thought about a metal detector and decided to Google Spokane metal detectors. The Ring Finders popped up first and I got a text from John at 9 am. I made arrangements to be at John’s house by 11 and met his wife Angie at the front door. Angie told me where I should search in the backyard. A few grid searches put me right over John’s ring. That thick green grass hid his ring so well. As I bent down to pin point the ring I pulled back the grass. Unknowingly the ring slid on to my finger. I was at work and two minutes away from starting my weekend when I got a call from a guy wanting to rent a metal detector. I explained I don’t rent them out but I am a professional and can look for his lost item right now. We discussed a few other details and then I made my way to the house. See, the gentleman had been attempting to remove the gold from an old tooth from a long lost relative. His first attempt on the first tooth was successful. So the method of using a hammer to beat the tooth that was wrapped in a paper towel was attempted again. However, this attempt caused the tooth to go flying. Speaking of flying I flew to his house and quickly we walked to the back yard. I was showen a 2ft 2ft swath of grass, in said grass hid a tooth. So I summed my inner tooth fairy and began to scan the grass with my garret carrot. Then BAM,the pinpointer buzzed with excitement as I pulled back the grass revealing the tooth. A record setting search, taking less then 30 seconds. I have to really give thanks to the guy for giving me a tip even though the gold from that tooth was really needed. Trevor and Sheba are a newly engaged couple with a large problem. The large engagement ring Sheba was wearing to symbolize the couples upcoming union had made its way over the retaining wall and down into the lower property. Trevor and his son had borrowed two different metal detectors from the neighbors and had searched for five days. With no luck the couple turned to the internet which led them straight to me. I left work the very next day after they called and headed to their house. Tevor hadn’t told me exactly how the ring went missing. However after talking to him about recreating the action that caused the ring to be lost, I knew how important the ring was to the couple. Trevor said to tell the readers, mainly the guys, think twice before you act. Trevor did say he heard the ring hit a tree. I must say I truly appreciate an individual who is aware of his surroundings and can recall small details about an event. This little sound he heard sent me into the direction of a small group of trees. As I foraged through the ivy covered ground. I thought to myself how did the multiple searches that had happened, failed in finding the ring? The answer wasn’t because they didn’t try but rather the lack of experience. Because as I headed into the over growth I found a hole in the ivy that one of the guys had dug. In the hole was a small brass tab. The very next target I detected was the ring with 8 vdi and 9 vdi showing on my nox 800 I got a huge smile on my face. Trevor had been watching me from the retaining wall and just about jumped off it when I held that ring up. Trevor was quickly overwhelmed by the whole ordeal but had a heart that was full of gratitude and joy. I gave that guy a few hugs as we took pictures and celebrated. Hands down a truly humble person is Trevor and I’m glad he and his bride Sheba have their ring back. Thank you Trevor for the handsome reward.
Sherry was finishing up her day and had gone outside to start feeding the squirrels and birds. After grabbing all of the bags of food that she needed she made her way around her snow covered yard to each of the feeders. After finishing up this last chore Sherry made her way to the couch. Sitting there enjoying the last hours of the day Sherry had a startling feeling. Her ring was not on her finger. The search for Sherry’s ring begun. The ring wasn’t found anywhere in the house so Sherry and her husband Steve headed outside to look. Neither one of them saw the ring outside. So to the internet Steve went. He had the idea to search for a metal detector. Steve quickly realized he had no idea how to use a metal detector. Not to worry the internet showed Steve some YouTube videos from Chris Turner. Steve thought the Ring Finders looked promising. So that’s where I enter. With a few texts and a phone call I was set up to go to Steve’s house after work. I knew the back story of how the ring was lost so all I needed was to see the possible locations. Turning on my metal detector was problematic. It started looping on and off over and over. Good thing I had a back up detector. Oh yeah, and the fact that as I searched my way back to where the bird feed was kept, I spotted the ring sitting on top of the bark. With a huge grin I swung my metal detector over the ring and looked up. Steve and Sherry could tell I had found something special. They both headed over to me and Sherry quickly saw the ring she had lost. It was a little confusing as to how we all walked over the ring twice but sometimes swinging a metal detector focuses the eyes and finds lost rings. The snow and cold were at it again but nothing stops the passion of a Ring Finder looking for a lost ring.
On the eve of the New Year with a high temp of 5 degrees Fahrenheit, Whitney contacted me about her lost platinum ring. See Whitney had gotten a diamond and platinum ring for Christmas. Loving it dearly she wore it while sledding with her family. With a quick adjustment of her glove the ring said “see ya” as it decided to go sledding too. But like all rings during winter time they come off the hand warmer then the outside temperature and the snow. So Whitney’s platinum ring sunk into the snow and wedged itself in between the rocks below. After I arrived and said “hello”, Whitney and I climbed the little sled hill where the ring came off. Whitney demonstrated the ring toss and I started my grid. Two grid lines down the hill led me to a 16 vdi signal. Quickly pinpointing, the snow showed me a shiny rim and just as I found the ring Whitney had gone back into her house. So I walked quickly over to the back door and knocked. Whitney was still taking off her boots when I held up my hand with the ring. Her mask hid her smile but her words, “Logan he found it!” let me know she was super happy to have her Christmas present back.
