Mr John had recently lost some weight and his platinum wedding ring was needing some resizing…so off to the jeweler they went. When they got home, Mr John thought he had enough time to mow one half of the front yard so he uncovered his riding mower and started cutting. There are a couple of areas where the tree branches hang down really close to the ground and as he mowed he had to push the branches aside. An hour later, while getting a drink, he noticed his wedding ring was not on his finger and the most obvious thing he could think of was that it must have come off while he was mowing! For two days he and his wife would walk through the yard with flashlights at night or during high noon when the sun was directly overhead with hopes of spotting his lost ring. For 46 years John and his wife have been married and the thought of never seeing his ring again was very troubling. Thinking there had to be some kind of service that involved a metal detector, he went online and found theringfinders.com and one of my stories. I agreed to come out and look at John’s yard and realized right away that this would be no easy task…because John’s yard was VERY LARGE! As I listened to John explain his routine when mowing I saw the low hanging branches and figured I would check those areas first off and BINGO! On the 2nd area I heard the sweet sound of gold and saw the glint of shiny Platinum! As John bent down to retrieve his once lost and now found wedding ring…I noticed a few tears welling up in his eyes and I could not help but feel a twinge of the same emotions in my own heart! John was so happy and the relief was obvious!

Gabby called me yesterday and asked for help finding her husbands lost wedding ring on a full size soccer field. I told her I was up for the challenge and little did I know how tough it would actually be. Her husband, Christian, was not able to join us but he had explained what position he plays and where he spent most of the time during his practice. The first day I set up flags and cones and covered over half of the field carefully grid searching each area. Five and a half hours worth and the temperatures were in the mid 90’s and although I was taking care to stay hydrated the humidity did wear me down.
Today Derek wrote, “My wedding ring slipped off my finger in my friends backyard. 15 people were on their hands and knees but couldn’t find it in the grass. I called Mike up and he was super friendly and confident he could find my ring. He showed up on time and was just as nice as on the phone. We talked a bit and then he went about searching. He used flags to create a grid and methodically scanned the yard. After about an hour of searching he called me over. My wedding band was pushed into the dirt and I never would have found it. Shaunan called me on Friday and asked if I could possibly help her find a very special lost ring. She explained that Saturday night she was playing with her dog in the back yard and when she came back into the house, her ring was not on her finger. She said she was almost 100 percent positive that is where her ring came off. The lost ring was a gift from her parents when she started college and that was over 4 years ago!
