Lost wedding ring...Found

Chris….

WE FOUND IT!!!!!!!!!

Thank you very much for your kindness, your responsiveness, and your offer to help because I know you didn’t have to.  Beyond being “metal detectors,” people like you and Jason are good samaritans that give people like me faith that there are people out there that choose to do nice things simply because it’s nice.  Thank you for returning my emails and calls, for comforting me in my misery, and for reaching out to your community for me.  Jason was an absolute ring finding superstar!  He came from three hours away, through floody dangerous roads, and came prepared with information on how my ring would read on the detector and different theories about how it could have fallen.  It was impressive.  If ever there were a ring finding professional, he was it.

I am forever greatful to you, him, and the fact that I found you on the internet under “ring finders”.

Jimmy

For all of the misery of this weekend, the feeling of finding it was almost worth the losing it in the first place.

Ring search Camas and Richland Washington/Lost Ring/Walla Walla

I am thinking about changing my name to Ring Searcher instead of a Ring Finder. This sums up my last two searches. In my defense, both of the searches are not over, and were rings that were lost but the owner was not sure where. This left me with large search areas.

The first one was in Camas, Washington. Like most ring searches it started with a phone call. Help! I lost my ring. This was a very special engagement/wedding ring combo. She was not sure if it was lost in the house or out. She had turned the house upside down and no ring. Next she thought there was a chance her beautiful pet had possibly eaten it. So off to the vet for xrays, which were normal. Finally it was my turn to search the property. It took me three hours to search the yards and nothing. I am hoping to return this spring to look the yard over again.

The second search was for a ring that was a father to son gift. This ring holds special meaning and like all the rings lost I really wanted to find it. We knew that the ring was lost, and at this location. However the area to search was over two acres. Even after searching for 6 hours I had not located it. I did find a ton of pull tabs and bottle caps. I am also planning to continue the search and want to give the client the chance for the story of this ring to not end this way.

I will update the blog as soon as we find the ring.

I just got a call today, for a search in Walla Walla. This one was lost in a specific area so I should be able to locate it.

Bye for now and hopefully, the next blog will put me back in as a ring finder!

Lost gold ring in Enebakk, Norway

  • from Follo (Norway)

Yesterday I received a phone call from a woman.  She told me that the day before her husband had lost his wedding band when he had been working on their farm.  It was a really big ring , 25 gram, in white, yellow and red gold. They had been looking for it the whole evening,  but could not  find the ring in the snow.  And it was still snowing…. They were pretty sure that it was lost outside the house.  Could I give it a try she asked?

Of course I could,  I put my gear in the car and drove over to their home.  It started to get dark and snowing heavy when I got to the farm.  I started to search the garden,  outside the house,  where they were sure they had lost it.

After a hour and a half I still no ring,  I ask the owner if he was sure he had not been anywhere  else.  Well, he said,  I was over to the parking lot a couple of hundred meters away,  but I’m pretty sure i did not loose it there.  At this time I was cold and wet, but I really wanted to find the ring,  so I told him that I wanted to try the parking lot.

We went over there and after 15 minutes a got a nice signal.  And there it was.  A massive beautiful gold ring. Oh boy, was he a happy man when I gave him the ring! I just love this job!

Lost Gold Ring, Bear Mt. State Park New York

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I got a call from our member in Illinois,  Lee Campbell, from The Ring Finders Directory and he called to tell me someone had contacted him from New York that needed help finding a lost gold ring.

I got in touch with Hong Lee in New York and he told me the story on how he lost his ring, he offered a $300 Reward if someone could help him find it.

At this time our new directory hasn’t got a listing in the New York area so I posted for help on http://www.treasurehunterforum.com/ and I was contacted by two treasure hunters.  One left his contact number and was quick to reply, the good thing was that he knew that he needed a permit to metal detect in that park…He took care of that and I gave him the information and the next day he found the ring!

I’m very happy for Hong and for the treasure hunter who was rewarded $300 for his efforts.

Below is the emails from Hong…

Dear Chris,

Thank you for your call.

My name is Hong who lost a ring just outside of the Ice skating rink in Bear Mt. State Park in New York. Last night, there was about 5 inch of snow but I hiked Bear Mt.

The ice skating rink is located where the trail ends. I was done with hiking and I took my gloves off. But at that moment the ring dropped due to the sweat on my finger. I saw it coming out of my left glove.

It was late at night, and so I went home. I went there again today, but they plowed the area where the ring dropped. The following link has the picture of the ice rink.

http://www.bearmountainicerink.com/

I assume that it is inside the pile of snow that is about 2 feet high and less than 100 sq feet and on heel going down. The snow pile is just outside the rink but it is not shown on the picture because it is to the right side of picture.

I bought Teknetics Delta 4000 and tried to find it for couple hours but only in vein.

I came home and asked around. I was told that maybe I should spread snow on tarp, using a bucket and shovel, and then use metal detector.

I don’t know if there is any professional who is nearby. But any info from you will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Hong Kim

Dear Chris,

This is Hong.

The young man found the ring for me.  I would like to thank you very much. Today is New Year in Asian Calendar, I wish you Happy New Year.

I probably would not have found it even if I spent all day myself, but he was so professional that it only took him 5 minutes for it.

Thank you again,

Hong Kim

Its hard to see the earring, but you cannot miss the big smile

Found in compact snow on the road

You just never know where your next hunt will come from. Sometimes it is someone you know.

It began with “ I lost my earring shoveling snow off of the driveway”, and I was hooked.

We met the next day on the lunch hour and surveyed the snow piles. She had no idea where the earring came off, but at least we knew the general area.

Along the first side of the driveway I had great signals, and found the sprinkler heads. Not what we were after. Next the other side of the drive the only hits I had was a trailer hitch.

Finally with the only area left to search I turned to the street in front of the driveway. This area looked like it had been scrapped already and the snow was packed down. On the first pass I had a good signal scraped the snow and ice off and there it was.

It was fun to see her snatch it up and clean it off and smile like she had been reunited with an old friend. To quote her “there not expensive but I like them” (insert big smile here). The reward on this hunt was the smile. It said it all.

If you need a hunt, call me as soon as possible. The sooner we can get to it, the better the odds of finding your lost treasure.
